We had a great time here! It was a busy Saturday night during peak season and our waitress Meadow was amazing! My son has Autism and likes his food a certain way, and she made sure everything was done exactly like he wanted. I was worried that service would be lacking on such a busy night but it definitely was not! I had wanted an earlier reservation but couldn't get one, but the restaurant called me when a table became available earlier than anticipated. I was so appreciative of this. Food was delicious. WHAT HAPPENED??? This restaurant has been our 4 to 5 times a year staple for the past 10 years. Always looked forward to the great food and "service" we have always experienced and appreciated. And yes, last night was our 2nd Covid visit so please don't think this review did not take that into consideration. In fact, the restaurant was not busy at all. Maybe a third full. Didnt recognize the regular staff we have become accustomed to last night. We were 4 thirsty, hungry and polite gentlemen. Our waitress and bus girl were just the opposite. What were their names? Who knows? They never introduced themselves, never cleared our table and couldn't care less that we were "customers and guests" in their establishment. My buddy ordered an Amstel. An Amstel light was brought to him and she told him they opened the wrong bottle. I ordered a martini "on the rocks ", it was brought to me straight up. Did I say we were 4 polite gentlemen? Right, we didn't argue and just sucked it up. The rest of the night continued the same. When my friend ordered a 2nd beer,, this time specifying a regular Amstel, she told him all they had was Amstel light. Well which was it? They opened the wrong bottle or they didn't have what he wanted in the first place? They couldn't care less. Ok, the food was still quality but its both food and service everyone looks for. If you were my customer, I would kiss your ass. All we were looking for was some level of caring and friendliness. We'll give it another shot when we return in February. Let's see then. Stopped in while visiting area, standard Local Italian restaurant. Homemade ravioli was pretty decent. Decent wine selection.

Best described as inconsistent, ranging from a delicious meal at a great value, to a bland meal with scant portions. Was more than disappointed at my most recent visit ordering a seafood pasta which arrived on what had to be a half of a cup of linguine? Pasta is inexpensive.....wrong place to cut back! Not often do I leave a restaurant anxious to get home to eat something, (and I began my meal with an appetizer)! I know they can do better, and hope they improve and return to being one of my favorites on the mountaintop! read more

Great ambiance, great food, great staff. The hostess was very friendly and nice, she really made us feel at home. The Mozzarella corroza appetizer was great along with the Clams En Bianco, which was to die for and the sauce was done really well. Entrees were great as well as dessert, my chicken had a little more sauce than I would have liked though, good thing it was delicious. Our waiter was surprisingly entertaining and provided for us throughout the night, he also had some very interesting things to talk about, very energetic, informed (and entertaining). Great time overall, definitely go there to eat! He kept referring to himself as Pepperbelly, I wish he would have just given us his real name. There was a man named John Wiktorko eating at a table next to us who smelled really bad and kept asking my wife for some of her French Fries. One or two was ok, but he kept pushing it, dipping each fry into a vat of salt and olive oil. It definitely took away from the ambiance, this customer. When my wife and I asked him to please stop, he guffawed at us and said "I run WAJCS, you can't touch me". He proceeded to chug a cup of marinara sauce and started bragging to his date about how he invented Mozzarella sticks, (which was an obvious lie). Had dinner here Saturday evening. It was pretty crowded but we called ahead and made reservations. Food was really good. I had the seafood fra diavolo . The sauce was really good just the right amount of spice. Wish it had a little more shrimp and scallops but really can't complain. The bread is not the best. Tastes like it was made the night before. My wife had the Chicken Marsala and she thought it was really good. Well worth the visit . Make sure you call ahead on weekends. read more

What a wonderful find! This restaurant tucked away in Ashland, NY offered an extensive Italian menu. We had veal saltibocca that was prepared to perfection. The veal was tasty and tender and the marsala sauce was subtle - not too sweet. The wine list was extensivBud R., Warwick, Nye and impressive. We chose a bottle of Bordeaux red from Chateau Loudeanne in Medoc. It was very good and the price was only $25. I would strongly recommend this restaurant to anyone in the Wyndham, NY area. read more

I've had better food and service elsewhere. This is not to say the food at Brandywine is bad, it's not. During our recent visit, they may have just been having an off night. Perhaps I'm being a little picky which is a trait I sometimes develop when I'm footing the bill. Now the Veal was OK but the accompanying sauce was overpowered with oregano and the dish would have benefited more with a simple ladle of any of the supermarket sauces over what the kitchen concocted that night. The Tortillini was edible, but nothing more. The restaurant was clean, friendly, attractive and decently priced. The service wasn't terrible. It was just slow. They may have been understaffed that night or our waitress may have been over worked however, while certainly pleasant, she would run off, never to be seen again until she brought our order and wasn't around to fulfill our minor requests of an additional appetizer, another soda and another napkin when needed. Despite the glowing review we received about the food at this establishment, it was not a great meal for us and we won't be coming back here anytime soon. read more

We booked for New Years Eve...early to beat the drinking crowd, so we were there around five in the evening. It was a disaster from the beginning with a snippy waitress. (perhaps because of the holiday and lots of people, but it was early) We were there for over an hour and a half waiting for our meal. The restaurant is quaintly decorated and rather comfy though. The bread served to us seemed like it was day old...dry and tasteless. One of our friends is a vegetarian and there were no entrees on the special menu for her. (she finally settled on a pasta dish from the children's menu, buying a double order at $9 each) My chicken Parmesan had a very acidic sauce that didn't rest well. My wife had shrimp Brandywine that had a concocted sauce with too many spices that didn't compliment each other or the shrimp. Another friend had a stuffed pork chop which was too spicy and hot to eat; thus was sent back to be replaced with ANOTHER child's pasta. Finally, since I was driving, I refrained from alcohol, opting instead for Coca-Cola. I had two refills of flat, fountain soda, sadly being charged $7.50 for that, bringing my wife's and my total for a disastrous New Years Eve dinner to $92.00... I have eaten at another establishment two miles down the road in the past for far less and enjoyed it way more. I am now sorry we did not book there instead last night. I guess the bottom line is that for a lousy couple of Cokes that cost you almost nothing... lousy food and service that wasn't friendly or great, I won't be back in the future. read more

Absolutely horrible. The most incompetent hostess we ever encountered. She left us to wait at her desk for over 10 min while she chit chatted with a patron, knowing we were waiting to be seated. We were then told to wait at the bar (we didn't want a drink but had to kill time) while patrons got their check and we would be seated. She completely forgot about us. When we checked 30 min later, hostess seated other people while telling me hold on, to return and she told us that people who had a reservations and came late were given our table, and we just spent money and time at the bar when all we wanted was dinner. Would not recommend this place. Rude and uncaring. We left and took our business to Chicken Run down the road where they care about customers read more

First time here after visiting Windham for about twenty years. My boyfriend and I were left standing at the hostess station for several minutes as many servers walked by without even saying hello. Not a big deal, that just struck us as odd. The dining room was about half full and the hostess sat us next to a very loud table. Again, nothing to be upset over, just a little off. Service was nice and attentive after that. Mozzarella carroza appetizer is delicious but heavy, I recommend splitting it. Salads were as the review below said. For dinner, I had chicken with their signature Brandywine sauce and that was fantastic. My bf had the stuffed shrimp and it looked more like an appetizer portion, but he said the flavor was good. Overall, I'd come back for a second meal, maybe next time we will sit at the bar. read more

First I'd like to begin by stating this has been one of the worst dining experiences of my life. My fiancé and I had made 8 PM reservations at this restaurant as we were staying upstate New York for some fun snowboarding with friends. We arrived at this restaurant at 7:50 PM and we were immediately seated near the bathroom meanwhile they were plenty of other available seats. I would like you guys to keep in mind that I am of African-American descent and my fiancé is Hispanic. We placed our orders immediately as we already had in mind what we wanted to eat as well as drink. After feeling uncomfortable seated in a corner by the bathroom with plenty of available seats we asked to be seated somewhere else and we were moved as requested. We placed our order and did receive our drinks and appetizer within the first 15 to 20 minutes. Our main course did not arrive at the table till an additional 60 to 65 minutes. After eating our appetizer and drinking two beverages while waiting for our main course we became a bit discouraged at the time that it took for a main dish to arrive and my fiancé let the manager know we no longer wanted the main dishes which conveniently arrived at the table as she was speaking to the manager. We were ready full at this point not to mention annoyed at the excessive weight time she then told us she cannot return the dishes and will charge us but will also discount us as a courtesy. There were two or three other couples who came in after us place their orders and a wholesale paid their bill and left before we had gotten our main dish. I can't help it but feel that we were missed treated at this restaurant because we were black and Hispanic while everyone else was white. I do not use the race card loosely but I am sorry this is exactly what took place here today. We took our order to go and paid the bill as I did not want to create a scene and I was very fatigue from a long drive earlier in the day. By the way the discount that we were given were a beer or a cocktail and a soda which was removed from the bill. Immediately after we left my fiancé Felt sick to her stomach and had two bouts of diarrhea. To anyone reading this if you are not white please find somewhere else to dine they are racist. read more

My husband and I have been coming here for over 15 years and never had a negative experience up until the last 2 times we've been here. It is obvious that either it has changed hands or they have a new chef and servers. We ordered drinks that did not arrive until I had to ask the hostess for them. My meal was Luke warm while my husband's was piping hot and it wasn't busy. I'm very disappointed but hopeful they will again serve the high quality food they did in the past. read more

By far the worst service experience I have ever had in windham. We were seated at 6:45, and still waiting for our meals at 8:50. It seemed the staff was trying, yet had no control over anything. The kitchen was beyond backed up. Our request to speak to the manager or the owner was denied. Although I understand the restaurant was busy, if you can't serve the food timely, don't accept the reservations. Would not recommend on a weekend night-- there are plenty of friendlier, more efficient restaurants in windham. read more

Gotta whine a little about Brandywine tonight! Bearing in mind that everyplace was crowded in the little town of Windham this busy Saturday night, but the service at Brandywine was so poor it was unforgivable. After waiting about 1/2 hr to get a table (which we were told would only be 10 minutes) we were finally seated and the cute young waitress told us bread and water would be right out. 20 minutes later she told us for the third time that the bread would be right out as it was now "in the oven", but when it finally arrived it was not hot or fresh. Our entrees took about an hour to come out after she finally took our order in between promises about the bread arriving. Just before the waitress brought out our food she brought out a big platter and served it to a large table of people near us. She then came over to us and said defensively in a slightly irritated tone "they were here before you!" I hadn't said a word about the table next to us nor had I thought about them being served before us but we probably looked unhappy as we were waiting so long and it was now after 9 and we still didn't have our dinner. When the food finally arrived it was woefully mediocre. Perhaps this place is usually better but it was pretty bad tonight. read more

Regular customer for the past 20 years. Proprietor, Lou is a stand up guy who runs his business with quality food, service, and community spirit. Always my go to during ski season. I have often ordered trays of food when company shows up. Food is consistent and delicious. Lou also supports the local community by hosting Wednesday pasta nights and supporting the Wounded Warriors when they come to Windham. Can't get better than that! read more

Just a wonderful restaurant year after year. This year we had a larger table of. 7. Our waitress Marie was as good as it gets. All her helpers (w their blond ponytails) were working so hard. The hostess tried to accommodate our group of seven adults and two children by seating us in the bar area. It was not bad however a bit awkward as we were all seated on the same side of several small individual tables. The decor was warm and comfortable though a bit dated. The service was disjointed with multiple servers coming and taking incomplete drink orders. Our server was a bit rushed and impatient. After the first round of drinks, water and bread the servers all seemed to ignore our table. We watched as the entire bar area got served bread, water, salads and main courses while we sat without water. Even after stopping a server and asking for water we still waited another 7 or 8 minutes without. When it eventually came, the food was mediocre. I ordered the Chicken Scarpiello and it was a relatively small portion with tasty mushrooms yet extremely oily. Others in my party also felt the servings were on the small side. Several small side items such as my wife's broccoli rabe and my linguine were forgotten altogether and never made it to the table. Once again the server was no where to be found. I even had to go to the hostess station to ask for the check. Our server then came back to the table to ask us for what we had ordered to drink as she had not put it on the bill. Brandywine has higher than average aspirations but you may be happier at one of the smaller, friendlier diners in the area. read more

Brandywine is a great restaurant. There is a huge parking area. When you walk in, you'll meet Becky who is so nice and welcoming. We love the Chicken Piccata and once we ordered it Gluten Free and the chef did a phenomenal job. It is good the regular way also. We have now graduated to the Chicken Sorrentino which is also a fantastic entrée. It has a light red sauce that is delicious. The Chicken has a thin slice of eggplant on top with prociutto and cheese in the middle. The service is very good and the waiters and waitresses are good. This is our favorite restaurant in Windham. The prices are reasonable and affordable. There is a nice bar in it's own area which is nice to sit at if you have to wait for a table. I have never had to wait for a table but it's an excuse to sit at the bar for one drink. I'll have to try the rollatini since the other reviews have mentioned it more than once. read more
