My girlfriend and I came in around 9pm on a Thursday evening, very slow evening with only one other person there. As soon as we walked through the door, the owner yells from behind the bar, "are you 21?" Both of us are over the age of 21, but are still young and I can understand the need to ID. The part that got me was him literally yelling across the building as soon as we walked in. I didn't have my physical ID as the DMV takes a Real ID when you get a new one and I had just taken my CDL test; currently waiting for my physical copy. I didn't have a physical copy and was told we couldn't be served. The female bartender did say that if I had a paper copy, she could serve me. When I had revived my paper copy of my ID, I turned it in to my employer to keep on file, so I didn't have it on me. We both walked out and I told the staff to have a good evening. After ruffling through some papers in my glovebox, I found a paper copy of my CDL permit that I had gotten a couple of weeks prior, and returned back inside. Once inside, the owner was standing in front of the door with a bowl of popcorn in his hand, and introduced himself to me. Before I could get a word out, he told me I was not welcome in his bar and that he was refusing service for, "Having a bad gut feeling about you and your girlfriend." Never in my life have I come across an interaction such as this one. I strongly feel that we were denied service just because we look young (while still being over 21.) I was excited to try somewhere new and play pool, however, I have no intentions of supporting this business or its owner in the future.

The service was phenomenal. Now, the negatives. My wife ordered the Brioche French toast and said it was great. She had ordered it before. I ordered the steak (medium-rare) and eggs. The steak consisted of hangar steak (which I love), eggs, and breakfast potatoes. When I got my meal, the steak was well done (which is a crime to do to hangar steak), the egg whites were runny, and the potatoes were dead cold. I'm not one to usually send anything back, but for the price and not one thing is cooked correctly, I felt I had no choice. I contacted our server and explained the discrepancies in the meal. She immediately told me that she would have it re-done and comped on the check. That was an unexpected surprise. When she returned with the meal, the steak was closer to rare (which with hangar steak is fine), the eggs were perfect, but the potatoes were still stone cold. The Chimichurri was awesome and I would love the recipe. I'm not sure this place will be on our return radar, but Caveat Emptor in your visit.
