My girlfriend and I came in around 9pm on a Thursday evening, very slow evening with only one other person there. As soon as we walked through the door, the owner yells from behind the bar, "are you 21?" Both of us are over the age of 21, but are still young and I can understand the need to ID. The part that got me was him literally yelling across the building as soon as we walked in. I didn't have my physical ID as the DMV takes a Real ID when you get a new one and I had just taken my CDL test; currently waiting for my physical copy. I didn't have a physical copy and was told we couldn't be served. The female bartender did say that if I had a paper copy, she could serve me. When I had revived my paper copy of my ID, I turned it in to my employer to keep on file, so I didn't have it on me. We both walked out and I told the staff to have a good evening. After ruffling through some papers in my glovebox, I found a paper copy of my CDL permit that I had gotten a couple of weeks prior, and returned back inside. Once inside, the owner was standing in front of the door with a bowl of popcorn in his hand, and introduced himself to me. Before I could get a word out, he told me I was not welcome in his bar and that he was refusing service for, "Having a bad gut feeling about you and your girlfriend." Never in my life have I come across an interaction such as this one. I strongly feel that we were denied service just because we look young (while still being over 21.) I was excited to try somewhere new and play pool, however, I have no intentions of supporting this business or its owner in the future.

You were on the patio there during the daytime (according to your pictures) when there is only ONE Staff member in the entire bar. Granted the Patio does fall under the "out of sight-out of mind" catagory, but you sometimes just have to remind yourself that when you choose to sit outside, and there are customers in the bar, you WILL BE EXPECTED to get up and get your own drinks from the bar.. The Bartender is just that... a Bar Tender. They are not able or allowed to leave a Bar vacant when there are customers inside due to the random dishonesty of the very few in society. ie: Tip jars emptied or stolen, customers jumping behind the bar and getting free drinks or stealing bottles and so on ... "...and the bathroom was dirty." People are dirty...the bathroom is what it is...again unless it it reported to the staff. it will probably remain dirty. . Did YOU report the dirty bathroom to the staff..or did you just walk away and leave it as it was for the next person to complain?

They always have a game or two on, there are a couple pool tables, and ample room on the wrap-around bar and additional table seating. Beer specials during games are about $6/pitcher $10/bucket for domestics. They also run happy hour specials. One of my favorite features is that they are one of the places around down that host the online trivia which you can play either from your phone or a gaming device they have at the bar. It's fun to play against your friends or even other tables that might be participating as well. The service is decent and at about 73rd & Mingo it's an easy break away from the "busy-ness" that is the 71st Street corridor. So bring some friends and come check it out.
