It's tough to know how to feel about Bozzelli's. On one hand the pizzas and sandwiches are good. They're maybe not the best you'll have of anything, but they're really good. I like the small personal pizzas with lots of toppings as a lunch. The ordering experience is weird. There's kiosks that you can order from, it creates a very impersonal touch, especially with the ambiance set up the way it is. You lose any connection you wanted to have with the store. Then there's not friendly people providing you the food when you get it. It's the opposite of a NYC bodega or a late night pizza parlor. It's cold and sterile feeling, which is really the exact opposite of the sandwiches and pizza. I could see myself ordering from here again, but likely delivery, because there truly is no benefit to going in person. read more

We found ourselves downtown on the way to a movie and stopped at Bozelli's for a quick dinner. This is a funky little place with a space-age theme. Quite an interesting atmosphere. But the food was good - I got a tuna fish sandwich, prepared well, very clean, not fishy, with lots of lettuce and tomato. If you're down in Georgetown and want an different type of experience, stop at Bozelli's for some grub. This place was actually better than expected. We arrived before closing time and I typically don't do that but it was one of the only spots still open. The pizza was pretty good and I reminded me of an "elevated" Pizza Hut. The pizza is not fancy but it's literally one step up from a Book It pizza (5 inch). I added extra cheese to the white pizza and it was definitely worth it. Perfect for a snack or light meal. There's seating inside and also a few tables outside. We sat outside since they were now closed at this point, and one of the staff members even came out to wipe our table for us. Very kind, considering they were closed. I wanted to treat myself to a margherita pizza for my birthday. Ordered the margherita online; the menu didn't specify a size, and the photos all showed normal-sized pizzas. With tax, fees, and tips, it came out to $40. What arrived was a tiny, smallest I've ever seen, personal pizza, different from what they photograph on their website and menu. At first, I was intrigued by the diverse menu it offered, ranging from classic Italian deli foods to café-style drinks and alcohol. However, I quickly came to appreciate each item I tried. The matcha latte was a relatively new addition to the menu, but I surprisingly enjoyed it. It's not one that's overly sweetened as with most traditional cafes, so I appreciated the dedication with their powder mix. Coming from Philly, I had high expectations for my chicken cheesesteak and can say it was solid in both flavor and the portion size. The chicken was seasoned well, and my fries (i.e., potato wedges) made for a good complement. My favorite, however, was the Girls Soccer pizza. You can customize a 5" inch portion with any of their signature styles as well, and I couldn't resist the meat lovers' equivalent. Make sure to get it with the chili garlic sauce, it was an excellent finish that also elevated the meatball and sausage flavor! They also occasionally offer free samples of their house-baked desserts (i.e., cookies, brownies, or cakes) as well, which is always a great draw to try more of their menu. Overall, I'm glad it's only a block away from my remote office because it's my new favorite lunch spot. Would definitely keep trying new items and specials offered. read more

I ordered four 14-inch pizzas and two "build your own" salads for an office lunch for five people. Bozzelli's is about a 15 min walk from my office. The delivery status was frequently updated and I met the delivery person (Door Dash) in the lobby. The pizza was still pretty warm when we set out the food to eat. Everyone agreed the pizza was fresh and delicious, especially the Margherita pizza. The salad was crisp, vibrant and delicious as well. We had enough leftovers snack on while we worked. As someone who frequents Georgetown quite a bit, I was shocked when I was searching for a place to get a sandwich and Bozzelli's came up. I had never heard of this place before, but I'm glad I stopped in! I went for lunch at 2pm on a rainy Saturday and was surprised to see the restaurant was empty. They had a pretty efficient ordering system with about 4-5 tap to order kiosks and a friendly employee at the front if you needed help. I got an americano and the chicken parm sub. I realize I was ordering coffee from a deli, but the americano was actually really good. The sandwich was delicious. The bread was tasty, and my favorite part of the sandwich was the pesto! That was a unique addition that really added a lot to it. The sandwich was large but not overwhelmingly so (I managed to eat the whole thing). Very spacious family-friendly restaurant with delicious Garlic Knots, beer on tap, and good service! We brought 2 strollers for our toddler and infant and were able to comfortably seat ourselves at 2 adjoining tables. We were in Dc visiting the African American National Museum & decided to tour more of the area by stopping by the dock.. While there I had to use the restroom & went into Starbucks & there is Bozzelli's right across. As tourist I had to taste some pizza out of my city to explore my test buds. We decided on the 10" Chicken & Parmesan w. a side of seasoned fries.. Between me & my boyfriend we got 2 pieces(4 slices divide) & we shared the fries.. No lie we were full.. The pizza was nice & fluffy & very well seasoned. The bread was fresh & you can tell it was made w. love. The wedges were cripsy & juicy. When it came to ordering the process was easy, they have a touch screen portal(2) to process the order.. They have a lot of seats on the inside so you can sit wherever you want. The food came out fast & again everything was hot & fresh. They have alcohol inside?ipa, ales, cider, wine), fountain drinks , & drinks they serve. Paid almost $60 for a pizza and 7 wings. Wings were SUPER overcooked like jerky and then they just pour bbq sauce over it. Pizza was ok, they put so much cheese to the point it was soggy and flappy. Such a delightful hidden gem located right next to the Georgetown Waterfront, with the most incredible vegan pizzas!! I dropped by with a friend for lunch on a Friday, and Bozzelli's honestly hit all the right spots -- delicious comfort food that was satisfying, but also accommodated my friend and I's dietary restrictions and didn't feel outrageously heavy (in the way that pizza often can); a fun and upbeat ambiance; and phenomenal service. The shop's astronaut-themed decor was super cute and gave the shop a bit of character, although, honestly, the food was good enough to speak for itself. My friend and I split a 10" Bizarro Pizza, which was basically a vegan take on the classic meat lovers pizza. It was topped with vegan sausage and vegan meatballs, as well as caramelized onions, sun-dried tomatoes, and chili garlic sauce. The sausage and meatballs were amazingly flavorful and smoky, and I honestly almost thought they gave us the wrong order because it truly tasted like I was chowing down on real meat. The vegan meats paired beautifully with the caramelized onions and sun-dried tomatoes, and the chili garlic sauce gave the entire pizza the perfect amount of peppery, garlicky goodness. All of this was delicious with the soft, pillowy crust (they have both normal and gluten-free crusts available!!) and the vegan cheese, which melted shockingly well, and had a delightful flavor. Highly recommend the BLT. Bacon was crispy, lettuce was crunchy, and tomatoes were fresh. The staff are very kind, and the building is kept very clean every time I've been there. There does seem to be a bit of variation in the quality of the food- the pizza ingredients felt high quality but I had to napkin dab some grease off of top to fully enjoy it. Very nice sandwich spot located in the Georgetown Harbor area. I got the Italian on a soft roll and it was very delicious. They also have a lot of alcohol to go and a full bar along with coffee and other beverages. I would definitely recommend visiting this spot. read more

bozzelli's just opened up!!!!!! But don't get too excited it's mule piss. It was a lovey Thursday evening on the waterfront, my family and I decided to stop in for a slice. Low and behold there was only one employee in the empty restaurant. She informed us that everyone had left for the day, and when inquired why, she heartily shrugged. We proceeded to negotiate with her if we could order a beer from their robust bar and we were met with serious rejection. The one staff couldn't possibly cope with ordering our pizza, managing the underwhelming amount of people that showed up, and pour a beer on tap. We ended up buying warm white claw, 5 dollars per warm claw if you were interested. The woman at the front was trapped by bad management. I don't blame her.
