BoxStar Moving were prompt in providing a competitive quote and the youngish guys who did the moving -- Eden's crew -- were excellent. They arrived on time, worked pretty much flat out for six hours and were courteous throughout. Charges for packing materials, which we did not use, seem a bit steep, but that's not an issue if you box up beforehand. They disassembled and reassembled a couple of beds efficiently. We paid $1,150 for a local move of a three-bedroom townhouse with a lot of stuff in it. No surprises. I would certainly recommend them. read more

Overall, the experience was great. They had the best price of the many moving companies I contacted, and they were able to confirm an appointment with only two days notice. Once moving day arrived, they were quick to load and unload all of my items from my storage unit into my apartment. The only negative was their arrival time. They sent a text noting that they would arrive at my storage unit in 25 minutes. I ended up having to wait 40 minutes beyond that initial 25 before they arrived, which is why I docked one star. They arrived on time were quick and efficient. we only planned on having them move the big things but without asking at no additional cost they packed and moved the small stuff too. it took them a while to figure out how to move our couch and they took the time and effort to make sure it didn't get hurt and fit properly through the doorway. The guys did a great job! My apartment screwed up my elevator reservation so we had to wait almost an hour before we got started. The guys were so patient and understanding. They also didn't start the time until we were up and ready to go, so the mixup didn't cost me extra. They were very meticulous, wrapped all of my furniture carefully and reassembled at my new home. The movers (4 people) showed up with a truck on time as promised. The whole moving experience was smooth and nice. Movers did what they had to do to secure and protect furniture. We had a piano and they moved it with such a care as well. One thing was that the truck was not big enough. So we had to make two trips. Luckily it was only 10 minutes away. So no complaints there. The administrative team is just okay, but my two movers on the day were great. The booking process was a bit casual, and on the day of the move, they didn't arrive in the two-hour window. When I called, I was told they would be running 60-90 minutes later. I insisted that would not work with my buildings regulations until they called in an extra crew to handle it. The movers were wonderful when they arrived: efficient, professional, and helpful. They moved everything as requested from two locations in the building to a third. Nothing was damaged, and they offered to disassemble/reassemble. The price was right. read more

BoxStar movers provided the best moving experience my family and I have ever had. Their lead mover really knows what he is doing and instructed his team on the best way to go about doing things. A clear communicator I felt like I always knew what was going on and what was needed. But, of course, the most telling question is: how do they handle your stuff? The answer: excellently. My wife has this cherrywood hutch, it's her favorite piece of furniture and as we were preparing to move we discovered a large crack going down the middle. We were afraid it wouldn't survive the move. When I told BoxStar movers about it, they paid special attention to it and I can now very happily say that the cherrywood hutch is sitting proudly in our living room. INCREDIBLE! I thought for sure it wouldn't make it. After unboxing everything no item was damaged and we are extremely pleased with what they did for us and highly recommend them. Just a quick FYI - in their pricing, the materials used does not just include what they provide to help you pack but also everything they use in the move (aside from the mats and carts). I am sure this was said but after a night of researching my mind was swimming with all the different ways moving companies price their services. That said, their rates are so good, in the end we still came in under budget! :) So to conclude - an experienced lead mover who guides his crew to move everything quickly and carefully along with great rates makes BoxStar the best of the best. Initially, I scheduled an appointment with another moving company, but due to the weather they had to cancel. I decided to look up other movers around the area and found this company, which is fairly new and didn't have reviews on Yelp. So I looked them up online and they have great reviews on Thumbtack and gave it a try. I emailed them and was scheduled right the next day where the weather was much nicer too. They're clear on the pricing as long as you mention the details about your move. The movers were on time and very helpful. One thing I suggest is if you have a bed, dismantle it yourself to save some time and $$. But that one's on me. Some movers dismantle it and some don't. I would not use them again even if they told me they'd move my entire house for free.... I understand everyone is trying to make their money back from the pandemic but this is terrible. You pay for 3 men and a truck, but only really getting one and a half men. At $149 an hour you would expect them to move with a little urgency, but nope...5 hours and counting. Update: took 7 hours to move, even though everything was broken down and wrapped. They tried to make it right...the fact that the scratched my dresser and my peloton, spend hours wrapping to only unwrapped items in storage, and had the nerve to attach my dresser upside but only if I take down my review. This place is trash. I have camera footage of them moving super slow and having my stuff just sit on the lawn instead of taking it directly to the truck. Manager even came to my new place to ask me to remove my review. Look at how they put my stuff in the storage unit and removed e plastic I paid for and already wrapped myself. This was a mess. They did reduce my invoice by 1 hour but again, only to remove my review. I wish others would've been honest about their experience and I could've went with someone else. read more

Used the Yelp feature to reach out to multiple movers for a project and BoxStar Movers responded via Yelp and was very responsive with any questions I had. Even if it was days later until I could respond. Other places I was interested in either didn't respond to my follow up questions or when they did get back to me, the date I needed was no longer available. BoxStar Movers was able to save me time and stress for being so responsive. The move itself was great too. Movers were polite and double checked with you on where you want things to go. It was a hot day and there were some annoying and heavy objects to move and no one complained. Got the job done.
