I have never moved with anything other than cardboard boxes so I had no idea what to expect. I reached out to boxsave via their website and their online system is pretty great. I was able to get a reciept / confirmation within a few minutes and I was off to the races. On the day of boxsave dropping off the crates I rented; I was surprised to recieve a phonecall. Yes, a live human. We chatted about the logistics and in-fact he was able to deliver them a few hours early. Once I recieved the crates, they were stacked on top of movable doilies with locks on the wheels. This made moving them around the house and into various rooms for packing a breeze! We received plenty of labels with our order as well. Overall the experience was extremely smooth, professional, and prompt. These guys have the winning combination down. After we moved our own crates to the new place, I called boxsave and spoke with Dorian to tell him we were unpacked. I was pleasantly surprised and grateful to see that he could come get the boxes that day, and about 1 hour later they were all gone! Overall, I would use boxsave again, and even recommended it to a few friends who helped me move. They were also grateful that these crates were stackable, easy to transport in a cargo van, durable and rugged. Best of all, I don't have to spend time breaking down cardboard boxes and cutting tape in the aftermath, all that mess is just...gone. Boxsave is priced competitively and fairly for the typical rental time of 2-3 weeks. I will absolutely be using their services again in the future and recommending it to everyone I know to give it a try. Very happy customer. Pro-Tip hidden benefit - because they will come by and pick up their rental crates again at the end of your rental agreement; it really forces you to UNPACK your stuff. No more cardboard boxes sitting in the basement or garage unpacked and collecting dust in 2-3 years. I saw this as a benefit to GET IT DONE! read more

I found Box Save during a Google search for moving boxes, and boy am I glad I did! I loved the idea of moving cardboard box free, having a deadline to have everything unpacked, and the fact that the boxes are recyclable. I made my reservation and eagerly awaited their arrival. In the days leading up to the delivery, Doran and Paul were super communicative about when they would arrive to deliver the boxes. They were on time and very friendly. The boxes were super easy to pack up and the dollies were really helpful. The pick up was also very easy - again, Doran and Paul were very communicative about when they'd arrive to pick up the boxes. They were on time and took the boxes away in a jiffy. Again, they were very friendly and helpful. If we move again, I'd certainly use Box Save again, and I'd recommend them to anyone! read more

I will never move another way again! The whole process from ordering to pick up was a breeze. The boxes were large, sturdy, and easy to stack. My movers loved them and not having to assemble or get rid of cardboard was fantastic. The customer service is top notch. They were very quick to answer questions and super flexible. They came and picked my boxes up early when my move date changed. Having everything you need just show up and then be taken away when you're done makes the process of moving a whole lot better. read more

Excellent product and service - could not recommend more highly. Paul and Doran went out of their way to be helpful, courteous and professional. The boxes arrived on time, were as clean as could be and are easy to pack, stack and store for moving. I would not choose another service for moving supplies and would certainly call them first in the future. Highly recommend! read more

Such a great service. Doran and Paul are super professional, friendly and responsive. Scheduling and later adjusting drop off and pick up times was a very easy process. They called before they arrived both times. Using standard plastic shipping crates is great because you don't need to construct and tape the boxes when you're packing and you don't need to break them down and discard when you're finished. It just feels like a much more efficient process. The boxes are in perfect condition and the dollies roll super smoothly. We did need to supplement with a few larger cardboard boxes for things like bigger lamps that wouldn't fit in the crates, but the crates were completely adequate for most household things. Highly recommend. read more

Love this service. They delivered and picked up within 48 hours. Boxes were clean and a nice size. Not to big - so you can still pick them up, but large enough to make quick work of packing. The owners were responsive and nice. PLUS!! Not having to deal with all the left over cardboard boxes, as well as feeling good about helping the environment. I will be using this service for every move. read more

The boxes are sturdy and made our move so much easier. Delivery and pickup was seamless which is great considering moving is already a stressful process. Amazing service and just a generally great experience overall. read more

This was a service I hadn't heard of before and was recommended by a friend to use for my recent move. I love the idea of not struggling to find/buy cardboard boxes, taping them, and hoping what is inside doesn't break and renting these boxes was one of the easiest and best decisions I made. They were delivered on time and brought right into the second floor of my home. The moving service I used was thrilled I had these boxes as it makes life easier for them too. Once I was all unpacked in the new place, I emailed and had the boxes picked up the next day (which was weeks earlier than I originally asked for!) They were very nice, friendly, and trustworthy and I will (and have already) recommend Box Save to anybody who is moving. read more

Great service and quick responses! Last minute, I had to change my original box drop off time and my box pick up time and they were very flexible which was great! I love the idea of using the reusable boxes as it saves a lot of cardboard, provides a safer/more sturdy way to transport your belongings, and our movers really appreciated it! From all the research I did, Box Save seemed to be the best cost when considering the number of boxes you get and the amount of time you get to keep the boxes for. I also wanted to make sure I used a local company, opposed to a national brand. I will continue to use Box Save for all my moves in the future as well as recommend to friends! read more

I've used Box Save for moves twice now, and it has always been a seamless experience. The boxes are sturdy, spacious, and so easy to stack. We have never had anything break. The wardrobe boxes and ability to order packing supplies made everything so smooth. The extra customer service of proactively reaching out to confirm times the day or two before & updates if anything changes makes such a difference! read more

Doran and Paul made our moving process incredibly easy! I heard about this company from a co-worker who had used them for her move and recommended them based on their ease of use and how much the moving company she used loved them, she could not have been more right. When I first ordered the boxes I over-estimated the number of boxes I would need but once I realized my mistake a simple email was all it took to switch to a smaller package and receive a refund for the monetary difference. We were given a two hour window for the drop off and pickup of the boxes, and both times they were right on time within the first hour which cut down on my time waiting around and helped the process go extra smoothly. Our moving company commented on how easy they made things too, and I am convinced they made our move take significantly less time! I am hoping not to move again for a while, but in the event that I do I will definitely use BoxSave again! read more

We used Box Save for our move from Cambridge to Watertown. The customer service and response I got when first ordering the boxes was amazing. They worked with me to arrange a delivery time that made sense for me. When the boxes are stacked, they don't take up much space and this was a huge plus for us, since we were moving out of a 750 sq ft. apartment. We ended up not having enough boxes (We ordered 35) and in hindsight, I should have ordered more. They are so much nicer to use than cardboard. They were incredibly easy to move, pack, close, and stack. The best part? You have motivation to unpack when you finally get to your new place. Doran arranged pickup - we found all the green boxes, unpacked them, stacked them, and handed them off to him. It was so easy. I will never move again without using Box Save. This was a great find and I'm so happy with this discovery. No complaints at all. read more

This was a great service that helped make the move easier. They were flexible in delivery and drop off. The boxes are a great size and it was sooo nice not having to find boxes, build boxes, and then break down boxes and try to recycle them. We had movers who helped move, but if we are to move again I think it would be really easy to do it without movers, and just be sure to be a little more strategic with packing and not putting a ton of heavy stuff in one box. Good luck box save! read more

I cannot say enough good things about this company. We had a delay between moving out of our home in Arlington and into our new home in Winchester. Doran worked with us to extend our rental of the boxes for free (several times due to renovation delays) and was so wonderful to deal with. It was a huge help during a stressful move. The drop off and pick up of the boxes was seamless and super easy. Other than that, the boxes themselves are very well made (similar to office moving boxes) and made packing up bulky items very easy. I would highly recommend BoxSave to anyone planning a move! read more

We rented 20 boxes for a month and it was apt for our move. Both my wife and I had come to realized how much useful it was. We knew we would travel multiple times for one thing or other. These are sturdy and built for move. Don't forget to get the dolly with them. It is easier to move it on the dollar they have vs moving it on you own dolly. I highly recommend Paul and Doran's box save!! read more

I used box save for recent local move. Doran was very prompt with the delivery (even in a snow storm)! The boxes were so easy to pack and move around my small apartment with the use of the free dollies. My movers could not say enough about how convenient these boxes were. I was finished unpacking sooner than anticipated so I emailed and easily arranged for a quicker pick up. I would highly recommend this product! read more

Highly recommended! We used Box Save for our move. It was 35 boxes for for $150 for two weeks I believe. Having the same size boxes made huge difference. The time we saved not having to tape the boxes was well worth it. And we use movers, so the fact that they were able to move everything as quickly as they did save us money as well. Definitely well worth it. read more

Box Save was a great way to make moving a bit easier and more sustainable. I liked using Box Save's very sturdy boxes, rather than buying and transporting a bunch of cardboard boxes. Doran and Paul were very easy to work with, and they made scheduling drop off and pick up after work easy! read more

Wonderful company. Great customer service. I'll never buy boxes again! Doran was delightful. A+ service.

I chose 20 bins and that was very accurate for my studio apartment. They were clean, sturdy, and stackable. As an added bonus, this seems more environmentally friendly. The delivery and pickup service made this extremely easy. Plus, they were friendly and efficient. I would absolutely do this again if I need to move in the future. read more

Can't recommend using Box Save enough! Delivery and pickup was a breeze, and the boxes were sturdy, easily stackable, and had plenty of storage. Using them made my move far quicker, and far less stressful than imagined. The movers loved them too as it made their jobs much easier (which made my move cheaper). Excellent service overall! read more

Moving is the worst, but Box Save made the whole process better. The owners, Paul and Doran, were lovely, super communicative, and made the entire reservation/drop-off/pick-up convenient from start to finish. Paul delivered the green totes to my old apartment at the time I requested and swiftly brought them inside (along with a sheet of labels). Two weeks later, Doran picked them up from inside my new apartment at, again, the time I requested, and all I had to do was open the door for him. Painless, easy, and you don't have to deal with flimsy cardboard and its disposal. The totes are extremely sturdy, have attached flip-top lids, and can be stacked, which is ideal for making good use of UHaul space -- and maintaining as much liveable space as possible during packing. They were clean and in good shape as well, which was a huge plus for me. If you're looking for the most efficient, sustainable, secure, and organized way to move your stuff, this is it. I've been recommending Box Save to everyone. read more

Cannot recommend these guys enough. The hard shell boxes make packing, moving and unpacking exponentially easier. Paul and Doran are both also consumate professionals, extremely punctual, efficient and responsive. They called to coordinate drop off and found a time that worked best for us. Pick up was also effortless, a quick email and they were there promptly. The boxes, moving trolleys and all equipment they supplied was in great shape/clean and saved us a lot of time, effort and energy with our move. Its hard to find a combination of a great product, great management and great price, but these guys have this all sorted out at BoxSave read more

Doran and Box Save were truly a life saver during my move. It made things so much simpler, more organized, and definitely greener than traditional cardboard. I've already recommended Box Save to a friend who will be moving soon. Professional and friendly! read more

Seriously the best idea and best way to move! Renting boxes from Box Save was more economical than buying a moving kit of cardboard boxes and the reusable boxes were way more sturdy and easy to stack and transport. All around a better choice, not to mention you don't have to worry about getting rid of your moving boxes after your move, they come and pick them up! Thank you Box Save for being the easiest part of my move. read more

Guys were great. Responded via email and even dropped of 2(!) more shipments of boxes. Apparently I have waaaaay too much stuff. I like the environmental impact plus a timeline helped motivate me to finish unpacking! Great experience. read more

I used Box Save for a local move in Somerville. The guys dropped the boxes on time on a Friday and swung back on time 2 weeks later to get them. The boxes were impeccably clean (we even put clothes in them with no worries), made our move cheaper by allowing the movers to have a consistent size box that was easy to move, and they protected our stuff better than normal moving boxes. We got the 1 - bedroom kit that was a prefect size. Once we unpacked and they picked up the boxes, we don't have any remnants of our move in the basement nor did we have to feel bad about throwing out all that cardboard from traditional boxes. I hope I don't have to move again any time soon...but if I do, I'll certainly do it with Box Save. read more

These guys were really great when we hired them for our April move. They were communicative about dropping off the crates and picking them up, and even helped lug them up the 4 flights of steps to our top floor apartment. The crates themselves are a nice way to use reusable packing materials, and pack and stack very well. We would definitely use Box Save again for a future more! read more

As a serial mover, I'm always looking for little things that make the process slightly less painful. Box Save turned out to be a HUGE thing. I came to Box Save because I wanted to minimize cardboard usage but found out they are so much more than a greener alternative to cardboard (which really would be enough!). Doran, Nate, and Paul were easy to communicate with, flexible, and so friendly. The boxes make packing very easy. It was great to be able to easily reopen them when I realized I needed something. The label system is simple and just what you need. As other reviewers have said, the fact that the boxes would be picked up about 10 days after we moved motivated us to unpack. Truly can't recommend these guys enough! read more

We recently used BoxSave for our move. We ordered 50 boxes, packing paper, bubble wrap, and hanger boxes. All were great quality, clean, easy to stack and label, and easy to wheel around on the dollies. The packing and organizing was super easy and it me it easy for the movers. It was also great not to waste all of the cardboard when done. Box Save was easy to communicate with and both the drop off and pick up were exactly on time. Would certainly use again. read more

Box Save is a great idea backed by exceptional service and reasonable prices! It's wonderful knowing that my move wasn't going to result in bunches of expensive cardboard boxes that would be left for me to deal with following my move. Paul and Doran were very helpful in helping me to select the right package and were very timely and efficient for both the crate drop-off and pick-up. Worth noting, the movers loved using the plastic crates as they were easier to carry and stack than cardboard boxes and made packing the truck much more efficient. read more

Very convenient. Much better than cardboard boxes. My only regret is not ordering a larger number of boxes -- definitely go with their recommended 50 boxes for a two bed apartment. I went with the smaller package figuring I would make up the difference with cardboard boxes, but the plastic bins are much nicer. read more

After having used Juggle Box in New York when we moved, we were so glad to find Box Save in Boston. These plastic boxes make moving SO much faster. No need to carefully pack things in flimsy cardboard and feel guilty about throwing away dozens of boxes at the end. Pick up and drop off were also a breeze. The guys who own the company are super nice and extremely accommodating. read more

I recently moved from Cambridge to Chelsea using the Box-Save crates, and I will never move without them again!! I placed an online order for the boxes about a month before my move, which I found super convenient. However, as the move got closer, I realized I wanted to start packing up earlier in the week. I emailed Doran via email and they were extremely accommodating to the change in delivery date. Doran arrived at my apartment at the actual time scheduled (a nice surprise compared to so many other customer service companies who show up hours late) and brought the crates right up to the door of my apartment (a 3rd story walkup). The actual boxes (or crates) turned out to be super-durable and functional. I was able to load my heaviest items into the crates and carry them without fear that the bottom was going to fall out; I was able to stack the packed crates on top of each other; they even provide labels so I could see what I had packed in each box while they were piled up! My new apartment has an elevator, and I was extremely relieved when all I had to do was stack the boxes up on the two provided dollies and wheel them up to my apartment. Not to mention, had I used traditional cardboard boxes I would have spent weeks flattening them out to recycle! Box-Save was absolutely the highlight of my move (so cliche, I know - but true!)! The cost of using Box-Save for any kind of move is 100% worth it, in my opinion. If you are looking to streamline your move, or even if you are just looking to simplify, I would HIGHLY recommend Box-Save and Doran! read more

I cannot say enough good things about Box Save. First of all it is an awesome way to move, my friends told me about their service and I was sold. No having to gather and tape boxes? Perfect. The product itself is durable which makes packing heavier items easier. Secondly, Doran and his team are professional, incredibly responsive and easy to work with. I adjusted my dates several times with no issue. Lastly, they performed a minor miracle for me in finding and hand delivering a necklace I left in one of dozens of boxes. I was shocked to hear from them weeks later that it had been located. Don't think twice, use Box Save! read more

We used Box Save to move from Cambridge over to Newton and were incredibly pleased with how communicative Doran and Paul were right from the start. I left the move until the last possible minute and called them on a Saturday morning to see how quickly I could get the 30 box package and two dollies delivered expecting that it would be days before that could be scheduled as other places quoted; they delivered everything the same day. The boxes were perfectly clean and are a great size. I have moved far more times than I'd like to remember and using the plastic bins saved hours and hours of time normally spent putting together, then taping, then breaking down conventional moving boxes. We also didn't have to worry about stuffing the top of the bins with packing paper to prevent them from caving in and crushing our stuff which was a huge benefit. Since they're uniform in size, they were also much easier to load in the moving truck. The rental period included is two weeks which was really useful for us as we had to spread the move across two weekends. When we were all finished Doran and Paul came to pick the boxes up from our new home. I highly recommend Box Save and would absolutely use them again! read more

Great company, Paul is very friendly and helpful. The boxes made our move so much easier. They are very sturdy and affordable. I will definitely use them again for our next move. read more

Packing made easy! Forget about trying to assemble cardboard boxes which is time consuming and much effort involved. Highly recommend their service if you are thinking to do your own packing. They delivered the boxes and will pick them up once you have done with the unpacking. Go green, affordable and very flexible to your timing needs. Definitely a grade A service! read more

I used Box Save for a move in August right before "move in season" at a very short notice and they were able to accommodate me. They were also very flexible with the drop off/pick up of the bins. The price was reasonable, the customer service was great, and using these bins instead of cardboard boxes made my move (and unpacking) much more efficient. I highly recommend them! read more
