This was a service I hadn't heard of before and was recommended by a friend to use for my recent move. I love the idea of not struggling to find/buy cardboard boxes, taping them, and hoping what is inside doesn't break and renting these boxes was one of the easiest and best decisions I made. Great service and quick responses! Last minute, I had to change my original box drop off time and my box pick up time and they were very flexible which was great! I love the idea of using the reusable boxes as it saves a lot of cardboard, provides a safer/more sturdy way to transport your belongings, and our movers really appreciated it! Doran and Paul made our moving process incredibly easy! I heard about this company from a co-worker who had used them for her move and recommended them based on their ease of use and how much the moving company she used loved them, she could not have been more right. When I first ordered the boxes I over-estimated the number of boxes I would need but once I realized my mistake a simple email was all it took to switch to a smaller package and receive a refund for the monetary difference. We were given a two hour window for the drop off and pickup of the boxes, and both times they were right on time within the first hour which cut down on my time waiting around and helped the process go extra smoothly. Our moving company commented on how easy they made things too, and I am convinced they made our move take significantly less time! We used Box Save for our move from Cambridge to Watertown. The customer service and response I got when first ordering the boxes was amazing. They worked with me to arrange a delivery time that made sense for me. When the boxes are stacked, they don't take up much space and this was a huge plus for us, since we were moving out of a 750 sq ft. apartment. We ended up not having enough boxes (We ordered 35) and in hindsight, I should have ordered more. They are so much nicer to use than cardboard. They were incredibly easy to move, pack, close, and stack. The best part? You have motivation to unpack when you finally get to your new place. Doran arranged pickup - we found all the green boxes, unpacked them, stacked them, and handed them off to him. It was so easy. I will never move again without using Box Save. This was a great service that helped make the move easier. They were flexible in delivery and drop off. The boxes are a great size and it was sooo nice not having to find boxes, build boxes, and then break down boxes and try to recycle them. We had movers who helped move, but if we are to move again I think it would be really easy to do it without movers, and just be sure to be a little more strategic with packing and not putting a ton of heavy stuff in one box. I cannot say enough good things about this company. We had a delay between moving out of our home in Arlington and into our new home in Winchester. Doran worked with us to extend our rental of the boxes for free (several times due to renovation delays) and was so wonderful to deal with. It was a huge help during a stressful move. We rented 20 boxes for a month and it was apt for our move. Both my wife and I had come to realized how much useful it was. We knew we would travel multiple times for one thing or other. These are sturdy and built for move. Don't forget to get the dolly with them. It is easier to move it on the dollar they have vs moving it on you own dolly. Moving is the worst, but Box Save made the whole process better. The owners, Paul and Doran, were lovely, super communicative, and made the entire reservation/drop-off/pick-up convenient from start to finish. Paul delivered the green totes to my old apartment at the time I requested and swiftly brought them inside (along with a sheet of labels). Two weeks later, Doran picked them up from inside my new apartment at, again, the time I requested, and all I had to do was open the door for him. Painless, easy, and you don't have to deal with flimsy cardboard and its disposal. The totes are extremely sturdy, have attached flip-top lids, and can be stacked, which is ideal for making good use of UHaul space -- and maintaining as much liveable space as possible during packing. They were clean and in good shape as well, which was a huge plus for me. If you're looking for the most efficient, sustainable, secure, and organized way to move your stuff, this is it. Cannot recommend these guys enough. The hard shell boxes make packing, moving and unpacking exponentially easier. Paul and Doran are both also consumate professionals, extremely punctual, efficient and responsive. They called to coordinate drop off and found a time that worked best for us. As a serial mover, I'm always looking for little things that make the process slightly less painful. Box Save turned out to be a HUGE thing. I came to Box Save because I wanted to minimize cardboard usage but found out they are so much more than a greener alternative to cardboard (which really would be enough!). Doran, Nate, and Paul were easy to communicate with, flexible, and so friendly. The boxes make packing very easy. It was great to be able to easily reopen them when I realized I needed something. The label system is simple and just what you need. As other reviewers have said, the fact that the boxes would be picked up about 10 days after we moved motivated us to unpack. I used Box Save for a local move in Somerville. The guys dropped the boxes on time on a Friday and swung back on time 2 weeks later to get them. The boxes were impeccably clean (we even put clothes in them with no worries), made our move cheaper by allowing the movers to have a consistent size box that was easy to move, and they protected our stuff better than normal moving boxes. We got the 1 - bedroom kit that was a prefect size. Once we unpacked and they picked up the boxes, we don't have any remnants of our move in the basement nor did we have to feel bad about throwing out all that cardboard from traditional boxes. I hope I don't have to move again any time soon...but if I do, I'll certainly do it with Box Save. read more

I recently moved from Cambridge to Chelsea using the Box-Save crates, and I will never move without them again!! I placed an online order for the boxes about a month before my move, which I found super convenient. However, as the move got closer, I realized I wanted to start packing up earlier in the week. I emailed Doran via email and they were extremely accommodating to the change in delivery date. Doran arrived at my apartment at the actual time scheduled (a nice surprise compared to so many other customer service companies who show up hours late) and brought the crates right up to the door of my apartment (a 3rd story walkup). The actual boxes (or crates) turned out to be super-durable and functional. I was able to load my heaviest items into the crates and carry them without fear that the bottom was going to fall out; I was able to stack the packed crates on top of each other; they even provide labels so I could see what I had packed in each box while they were piled up! My new apartment has an elevator, and I was extremely relieved when all I had to do was stack the boxes up on the two provided dollies and wheel them up to my apartment. Not to mention, had I used traditional cardboard boxes I would have spent weeks flattening them out to recycle! Box-Save was absolutely the highlight of my move (so cliche, I know - but true!)! The cost of using Box-Save for any kind of move is 100% worth it, in my opinion. We used Box Save to move from Cambridge over to Newton and were incredibly pleased with how communicative Doran and Paul were right from the start. I left the move until the last possible minute and called them on a Saturday morning to see how quickly I could get the 30 box package and two dollies delivered expecting that it would be days before that could be scheduled as other places quoted; they delivered everything the same day. The boxes were perfectly clean and are a great size. I have moved far more times than I'd like to remember and using the plastic bins saved hours and hours of time normally spent putting together, then taping, then breaking down conventional moving boxes. We also didn't have to worry about stuffing the top of the bins with packing paper to prevent them from caving in and crushing our stuff which was a huge benefit. Since they're uniform in size, they were also much easier to load in the moving truck. The rental period included is two weeks which was really useful for us as we had to spread the move across two weekends. When we were all finished Doran and Paul came to pick the boxes up from our new home. I highly recommend Box Save and would absolutely use them again! read more
