Cool new find. Located inside JW Marriott on Central Park South. Food was excellent and presentation and recipes that were bit more modernized compared to the traditional steakhouses. I really enjoyed their take on all the traditional dishes. Food was cooked well, ingredients were fresh, and steak had a really good seasoning and cooked perfectly. Desserts had a lot of unusual and cool items including shaved ice, basque cheesecake, and chocolate fondue. How fun! Inside was beautiful and modern. You will see a lot of kids and families who are hotel guests but it didn't bother me. If I had a serious business meeting though I may look elsewhere. Service was okay. Main problem I had was that our waitress disappeared during middle of the meal but eventually I called over another waiter and got him to service us. Service is why I took off a star. Came for a birthday dinner and it did not disappoint. We had James as our server, professional and friendly. We had the Caesar salad, the Wagyu tartare --would not recommend, the oysters and clams were delicious. Onto dinner, the porterhouse steak for 2 perfectly cooked, Wagyu steak and shrimp, delicious and we enjoyed the Maine lobster pot pie, presentation was table side, nice chunks of lobster and a bit saucy for me but overall was good. The sides were delicious. Nice vibe for the place, service was excellent, drinks were spot on. Please note make sure you use the Central Park South entrance, we parked on 58th feet but the doors on 58th street are locked so had to walk around the block on a cold cold blustery night. Visited during restaurant week for lunch. The service was lacking for a restaurant of this caliber. They were not busy at all but our server seemed preoccupied on her phone. The salmon was overcooked and dry but at least the salad was good. Grabbed a same-day reservation for a Saturday night after snagging last-minute tickets to a Carnegie hall show. While I actually didn't love the steak, everything else was amazing: + Bourbon steak martini + petite romaine Caesar + 14 oz NY strip + creamed spinach pop tart + Michael Mina's banana tarte tatin Martini, Caesar and spinach pop tart were all perfect. Bourbon steak house is an amazing restaurant that has some of the best food in Manhattan. The Caesar salad was delicious. The bacon wrapped scallops,tomahawk steak,and the old fashion cocktail was amazing a bit pricey $$. Our waiter Dino was very good and knowledgeable about the menu and what to ordered. The ambiance is very romantic and classy definitely a must see to appreciate it. There's plenty of parking in the street and also parking lots. A fantastic dinner experience. The entire staff was excellent. Friendly hostesses to start, all table servers were on point. I feel like fine dining lately has been hit or miss in that category. The ambiance has a good vibe; you can hear the music but still have table conversation without yelling at each other. Everything we ordered tasted great. Steak was cooked as ordered, bacon wrapped scallops were yummy, and the wedge salad was soo good. I love that they serve a trio of French fries/sauces instead of bread. Craving steak, I stopped by the nearest steakhouse to my hotel, conveniently located right across from Central Park. From the bar, there's a great view of the park, although since I visited late in the evening, the view wasn't much of a highlight. The hosts were welcoming, and I was seated promptly. They offer a solid selection of bourbon cocktails, but I went with a classic Old Fashioned. For my meal, I ordered the Wagyu ribeye with half a lobster and a side of fries. The fries were excellent, and the lobster was flavorful and cooked perfectly. The ribeye, however, was just okay. It tasted more like a regular ribeye than a true Wagyu cut. While it had a nice char and was cooked medium, it didn't have that signature melt-in-your-mouth tenderness I've come to expect from Wagyu. Overall, the restaurant was good, but the steak didn't quite meet expectations. I'd still recommend it, just maybe try a different cut next time. read more

There are so many steakhouses in New York which are solid, but this one puts some flair into the category and elevates to a different level. This is a steakhouse by Michael Mina...and if you have ever eaten at Aquas in Sam Francisco, then you know he is bringing it. Mina soars here. Steaks are awesome as usual but so are the seafood dishes. Rib Cap, filet and sea bream all great...but the truffle mac and cheese and crème brûlée cheesecake (I know it's cheese cake but trust me on this one) are amazing. So are the beignets with dipping sauces and I am not a desert guy so you know these are great. Ambience is upscale New York steak house with views of Central Park. I'm a big fan of Michael Mina so I try to eat at his restaurants when I travel to places that have one. Unfortunately, the only time that would fit into our busy trip was today at lunch. I checked online for a lunch menu but there is not one listed. I should have called and asked instead of assuming they served their full menu at 2:45pm. But I didn't so I was sad and disappointed when I arrived and they were only serving their lounge menu. If only the website had indicated this, then I would have been able to make an informed decision. Sadly, the lounge menu didn't have any of the options I love at Bourbon Steak so we didn't stay. The hostess was very friendly when I asked about the menu and didn't seem annoyed at all when we left. She and my knowledge of how amazing their food is in other locations earned some stars. Hopefully, I'll be able to enjoy this location another time. It's a beautiful restaurant inside the JW Marriott. It's pretty fancy even though it's in a touristy area. Every year, my friend and I participate in restaurant week. I saw Bourbon Steak on the list and made a reservation and boy was I not wrong with my choice. The ambience was nice and cozy our two waiters Christian and John were spectacular. The food was divine and the drinks were delicious and let's not forget the dessert. I highly recommend and I will definitely be returning. Next time I'll bring my mom for her upcoming birthday. FYI, if you go do yourself a favor and order their whipped potatoes, it is to die for. For our appetizer I got the Shrimp Cocktail and my friend got the Butternut Squash Soup. Both were insanely delicious. We both ordered the Skirt Steak cooked medium it was so good you didn't even need any steak sauce. For our sides we got there Creamed Spinach with crispy shallots on top and the best Whipped Potatoes you will ever taste TRUST ME it's all in their imported butter. For our drinks I ordered the Pisco Punch which was delicious and my friend got the Delicious Sour. We both opted for their Warm Beignets, which came with their chocolate mousse for dessert. 5 stars for the steak alone! We did the pre fixe option ($75 for a mix of appetizers, entree and 3 sides) and it was a great deal. The restaurant itself is massive with very high ceilings and lots of tables. It overlooks central park and is very nicely decorated inside. Our server Jorge was very friendly and attentive. The food came out at a good pace where we did not feel rushed or like we were waiting for too long between courses. Rather than bring bread to the table, they bring a trio of fries with 3 different dipping sauces. If I remember correctly, one was pastrami fries with a pastrami dip, garlic fries with ketchup and fries with a truffle dip. The fries were very good, crunchy on the outside, soft on the inside, not greasy or oily at all. On the appetizer plate was one bacon wrapped scallop with a foie gras sauce, tuna tartare with two toast points, corn soup and a small salad with a slice of grapefruit, hearts of palm and a piece of avocado. While all were tasty, the standout was the corn soup. Apparently they just added it to the menu and I would highly recommend they keep it. The other bites were good, but on their own are not reason to come back to the restaurant, while the corn soup would be. For entrees we ordered the rib cap and skirt steak, each was a decent sized serving. Both were exquisite, perfectly cooked, tender and very flavorful. The rib cap had a nice sear on the outside without tasting too charred and the skirt steak was some of the most flavorful I have had. While we truly enjoyed both, I think I would have to say the skirt steak was our favorite. Each steak came with a tomato topped with bread crumbs which was surprisingly flavorful. The sides were whipped mashed potatoes, asparagus and spinach which we enjoyed and again were a good portion. My main complaint about pre fixe menus is I usually leave feeling hungry, but this was not the case here as we left feeling full (not satiated, but full). The pre fixe is a great value since the rib cap alone is $98 on their regular dinner menu and is the same size. I would definitely recommend people come try the pre fixe here and I would 100% go back. read more

The appetizers that we ordered were more of the sea food route; oysters from east coast were more sweet (delish!) and the west were tangy/ savory. For me, the star was the bacon wrapped scallops. My partner enjoyed his steak very much ! The Mac and cheese was okay. Not terrible ! But the pasta was a bit stiff/hard. The French fry trio were so good !!!
