Yummy eats. Yummy shakes. I have been to this location two times, last year at this time and yesterday (in town for the Boston Marathon!). Both times there was a significant wait for seating, but both times I really lucked out and caught seats at the bar area when people were leaving. However, with the Red Sox in town, and the marathon, I should expect to wait! I ordered a burger that had been featured on the Racheal Ray show...it was delicious. There are lots of good and quirky burger options with a wide variety of toppings. My friends ordered chicken breast sandwiches, and their choices looked equally delicious. Perhaps the most mouth-watering part of sitting at the bar, though, was watching one employee make Frappe after Frappe...that young man was an artist! The Frappes appear to be the real deal of deliciousness. However, after having two beers and a burger, I had no room to try one of the calorie-busting creations. There is a huge selection of uniquely crafted burgers here, so I'd recommend looking at the menu ahead of time. The burger meat itself is just alright, and I'm not a huge fan of their "cocktail" menu, but if you like beer and cider, you'll be set. Pro tip: super cheap PBR pitchers! I always like The King, The Sophie, and The Hot Mess. They are definitely my go-to's but are super filling. I order from here only when i'm craving it and i don't know why i keep doing it because every time i order im let down. It is overpriced and they never get the order right even when there are no modifications. I ordered Buffalo chicken mac to go and there was a piece of paper underneath the mac and cheese that would rip off into the mac and cheese. when i tried to take it out of the container and put it in a bowl i couldn't even get it out because the paper was so soggy it just kept ripping and getting paper all over the mac and cheese. This after going to pick it up and being ignored until I approached the bar because i could see my food getting cold behind the empty host stand. I split the s'mores shake with two other people and it was more than enough for each of us! I did take a picture of that! They packed my burger with so much that I couldn't just enjoy the burger as a whole. I had to eat bits and part of my burger one by one. First attempt at coming here- I walked in a weekend and was told the wait was over an hour and a half. Since I was starving, I opted to go elsewhere. Second at coming here- I made sure to put my name on the waitlist through Yelp. You can see how many parties are ahead of you through the app, which is pretty cool. We ended up waiting much longer than what the app quoted, we waited at least an extra 30 min. Here is what happened: I received a phone call saying the table was ready. Turns out it was a table outside. I did not want to sit out in 50 degree weather, so I requested for a table inside. Since all the tables indoor were full, we had to wait a little longer. I was curious to know how many tables were ahead of us, so I checked the app and realized we were no longer on the wait list. I asked the hostess about it, she had no idea and said we were no longer on the wait list on her system. Luckily the other hostess knew what was up and told us to wait. Finally, we got a table. Hallelujah! I was famished and couldn't wait to eat. We started off with some drinks. I got a frozen strawberry sangria, which came with little plastic mermaids and palm trees as decoration in my glass. While the drink looked very pretty in pink, it was impossible to drink. The drink was so frozen and kept getting stuck in my straw. I gave up and started scooping up the frozen drink with a straw. Big mistake, I got the most painful brain freeze ever! I would suggest serving this drink with a fatter straw, like the ones used for bubble tea, if not, it is impossible to drink. The brain freeze was so painful that I just gave up drinking my drink completely. And no, my drink did not really melt, so I still wasn't able to drink it at the end of the meal. For food, of course, I had to have a burger. It is called Boston Burger company after all. There are other dishes like sandwiches if you absolutely hate burgers. If you don't feel like eating beef, you can order turkey burgers, veggie burgers or pulled pork burgers as well. I was craving a nice juicy burger and had a hard time picking a burger. Should I get the 420? Should I get the hot mess? After much deliberation, I could hear the hot mess burger calling my name. This burger has also been feature on the Rachael Ray show. The hot mess has bacon, sweet potato fries and a pile of lettuce covered in thousand island dressing. The sweet potato fries are part of the burger, you don't get a side of sweet potato fries, although you do get a side of homemade chips and beans or slaw. So I ordered a plate of sweet potato fries, which were delicious. The burger itself was amazing, the beef patty was tender and juicy, the thousand island dressing was so good. The burger was pretty large, and I am impressed that I ate the entire burger. If you like over the top frappes, they've got some creative ones here! Oh, and I somehow had space for desert. There is an ice cream store next door called JP Licks... Overall, if you love burgers, you gotta come here for a delicious burger! If you are a on a diet... don't come here. read more

This little burger joint is amazing! Our vegetarian family of 4 had a delicious pre-Sox/Yankees game lunch that was incredibly delicious and fun! Service was impeccable and we finished everything but the monstrous chocolate frappe (you'll see why they're so pricey :-) We parked at an indoor lot right behind for $35 which worked out really well. You're right near Newbury Street if you want to take in the shops. Don't walk on by, it's worth the wait and the host was spot-on with our approximate time. Will definitely go back! read more

First the good (maybe great)...the freakfrape was amazing. We had the Oreo frappe and to quote my daughter "this is the best thing I've ever had". The ok was the burger. We both had basically a basic burger. The burger itself wasn't that flavorful. There menu had some incredible burgers with s ton of stuff on them that would probably make the burger irrelevant, so in fairness we might have ordered the wrong thing. A solid go-to establishment in Boston for the following reasons: 1) The wait is usually pretty short, if there's a line it will go quickly. 2) The servers that we've had have all been friendly and quick to get orders in. 3) Plenty of great burger choices. 4) The freakfrappes are just as good as the burgers, but just be aware that some contain smaller amounts of actual shake and tons of candy on the side/top/bottom. Only other burger place in the Boston area that compares is Craigie on Main (in Cambridge), but good luck getting a reservation there. read more

Where to start? Ummm... let's talk about FOOD PORN. This place caught my attention with the pictures of the "Freakfrappes" and their insane burger creations. After trying out the "Whiskey Tango Foxtrot" and "S'more than you can handle," I can thoroughly say that this was an insane food experience. I had to undo my belt a knot I so I could keep eating XD Anyways, the Freakfrappe arrived first so we started to indulge in the sugar sweetness. I'm amazed even the milkshake portion tastes like s'mores! My only negative comment would be the excessive amount of marshmallows in the milkshake and around the base of the glass. Onto the WTF burger: burger + pulled pork + Mac n cheese + onion ring + pickles... I could not finish that :/ but I tried I didn't care for the sides, however. The beans weren't my favorite - too rich to go with the burger - and the coselaw had WAY too much mayonnaise. Mocking customers because of food preference (Vegetarian/Vegan) We ordered 3 VEGETARIAN burgers and got bacon in all the burgers. When I spoke to the manager about this he told me it was my mistake. According to him a vegetarian burger means the patty is vegetarian but there can be meat toppings in the burger. I asked him what does the word "burger" mean. Does it mean "A patty" Or "2 buns with 1 patty and some toppings between the buns" The manager responded that for them Burger means just the patty. Well for rest of the world with common sense and access to Internet the burger means "2 buns 1 patty and some toppings " The manager walked back and we could see him talking to other servers about us and those servers looked at our table and started laughing. We were charged for 1 burger instead of 3. By the way, we ordered 3 vegetarian burgers and all 3 burgers had meat in it. We felt very bad the way we were treated and laughed at by other servers. It would have been okay if it was a mistake by the cook or server. That happens. People make mistakes, but it is a completely different story when the restaurant blames the customer for their own lack of attention and clarity and on top of that laugh at the customers. I hope at least BBC is taking food allergies seriously because mistakes with that can be life threatening is not a laughing matter. I would never recommend this restaurant to any of my vegetarian/vegan/non-vegetarian friends. I can tolerate bad food but it is not okay for me when servers laugh at me and my friends because we are vegetarians/vegan. read more

Unpopular opinion: I'd say it's overrated. I got the killer bee burger MD Rare. Came out MD Well, but I was with a group so I wasn't going to make a fuss. That's just disappointing. I only eat beef burgers every few months and only like them md rare. As for the burger itself, if you like super greasy burgers then this will be your jam. I feel like they're more for the photos than it is for the taste? It wasn't anything special to me. The potato chips on the side were nothing to fuss over either. I split a shake with my sister (there's no way you could finish one yourself after a burger!) and that was probably the best part. I'd only come back for a shake maybe once every couple years. I got the All American Burger because it was their most popular one, but I am now super excited to try all their other ones. The frappes are also worth a try. I've had streak of misses with burgers lately... I've been to both this location and the Davis Square location and I've had issues in both. It was here though that I had a nearly inedible burger. It was so salty that I was embarrassed to share a bite with my fellow diner. I had to use the potato chips to counter the salt, not joking. Service was spotty so I did not have the will power to ask for a new burger. As positives, the burger was well-cooked and I do like their homemade chips. It is a shame, because some of their combinations are interesting. Execution matters though. read more
