Today was my 2nd trip to Boot Barn in San Martin. While I am a horse owner I do not wear cowboy attire but went searching for a decent water resistant jacket to wear horseback riding instead of rhinestone "look-at-me" apparel. ( but they seem to carry this too ) As on my previous trip I found the service to be attentive, friendly, accomodating and pretty well informed about the various clothing options available as well as being down to earth. My Ariat boots are awesome and came well-recommended. Looking forward to trying out the jacket they special ordered in my size. Thx especially to Cord today for his help and to the friendly gentleman with the generous mustache and the young fair haired man ( he had a mustang we talked about while I bought tack) on my last trip. I had a great experience both times I went in. The employees are very helpful and informative on boots and each brand of boots. I wanted a nice pair of jeans and they listened to what I'm looking for and directed me to the perfect pair of jeans, of course they are costly but good quality. Also gave me their opinion on the jeans and brands which was helpful. I will be returning to the boot barn today. I love their selection on boots and clothes. I don't understand the bad reviews - Yesterday, I spent an afternoon here with 2 tired pre-teen girls, and everyone in the store was extremely friendly and willing to go the extra mile to help us find what we needed. Louie was one of the nicest people I have come across. The inventory is solid - many many boots to chose from! We were able to buy 3 different styles and sizes of paddock boots and socks in under an hour. (Its a shame they don't sell half-chaps or riding breeches anymore....) read more

Well, I heard that this store was the place to go for boots. So my fiance' and I drove down to get my Birthday Boots. After my experience at this place, I would say go somewhere else. May I suggest Winchester Western Wear on San Carlos. At least they were helpful and knew about how their operation worked. First of all, I need to say that Kayla (salesperson) was attentive in getting boots for me to try on. That is about the only good point that you will see in this review. I finally chose an awesome pair of Lucchese Boots for $300+. So my fiance' dropped a good chunk of change in this store. Unfortunately they didn't have my size, so i needed to have them shipped from another store. Kayla advised my fiance' that the stores are doing inventory, however, the store in Wyoming DID have the boots and WOULD ship them UPS the next day. We went in on Aug 15th and as of Sept 3rd I still have not received the boots. I'm not sure what the other 2 gals (Melissa & Judy who is the manager) are sippin' on in the store, but they are very rude and have no concept of customer service. The first time I called to check on my boots, Melissa had no idea of where my boots were and said to call back in a week. I called back a week later and once again Melissa had no clue, other than to say that she would have her ICS (whoever that is) call me first thing the next day. Well, guess what? The next day came and I hadn't heard from the ICS. So I called in and got Judy (manager) who right away put me on the defensive with her attitude. She told me that the ICS person had gone home and there wasn't much she could do. I then tried to brief her on what had transpired, but she interrupted me by saying that she found it hard to believe that one of her employees would say that the boots would ship out the next day since they are currently in the inventory process. So, I finally get a call that my boots have arrived. When I arrive at the store, I see quite a lot of people due to some sort of sale that's going on. I lucked out and found a salesperson right away. The salesperson came out with the box, opened the box, and, I guess the look on my face said it all because the salesperson asked what's wrong. I said, "I can't (censored) believe it"!!! After all this time of waiting and expecting to have my new boots, I find that they ordered the WRONG boots! Needless to say, I was very upset. The salesperson says, "it's fun dealing with pissed off people". I asked, "I guess I'm not the first to be pissed off"? The salesperson said, "No, you're not the first, it's been going on for weeks". Bottom line: I have no boots, this store sucks, and I hope they go out of business due to their lack of customer service. This may be the worst shopping experience I've had in years. I will never, ever, go back to this store nor will I recommend this store to my family or friends. A VERY DISGRUNTLED COWBOY! read more

This place was fun to shop in. A good variety of hats,jeans,belts, shirts and boots. Pick up some shirts and a belt. But be careful on the boots. I wanted a pair of ariat and there was one boot taller than the next one. They quickly apologized and realized that they might of messed up someone else boot purchase. Poor bastard is walking around with the wrong boot. The staff was friendly and store is clean and big. I will be going back again for a hat or two and more stuff soon!!! read more

I have shopped at Boot Barn (and Filces before that) for decades. I was last in 9/28/18. From my experience that day I can probably say it was my last. The store is too over crowded and disorganized. Trying to find a pair of jeans in my size took forever because there did not seem to be rhyme or reason to the racks. I did purchase some jeans and even a pair of boots that day...with zero help in the boot department. One of the pair of jeans I bought had to be inventory transferred from another store. I was told they should be in by the following Friday 10/5. I have gone into the store and tried calling to see when my jeans (that have been paid for) should arrive and have receive (again) ZERO help. All I am told is that they are busy and they will call when they come in. There seems to be no way of tracking the shipment? And both employees I have dealt with when asking have been unprofessional in their responses. read more

Good quality boots, clothing, and riding accessories. I had trouble with the layout of the store. The boot selection was not cohesive and often required getting on my knees to search for shoes. The clearance sections boots were misleading as well. read more

I just spent 25 minutes with four women behind the counter and another two floating in and around. There were only two registers, and two customers in front of me. 25 minutes with no end in sight. They came around the counter and played tickle with a baby in the stroller, and just did not care about getting people in and out of there. By the time I put my items down and walked out, there were four people behind me. it was horrible. I am not the type to be in a hurry but I had grocery items in the car and after 25 minutes and still the people at the registers were not close to finished, I gave up and left. read more

Boot Barn sold me a pair of Ariat boots which started to squeek loudly in the first few weeks of wearing. They would do nothing and told me it was normal. Ridiculous. Terrible service. Think twice before going. They are unwilling to correct a bad sale and product. read more

HORRIBLE customer service. I ordered boots for my son for Christmas at the beginning of December. As the holiday gets closer and closer I keep looking for the boots but the 25th came and went without any boots. I called on the 26th was on hold for about 40 minutes before I talked to a customer service representative. When I explained the situation and gave my order number I was put on hold another 15 before I was told they weren't processed. I expected an apology in the least but all I was told was "whoops" and the order would be expedited in both processing and shipping. Apparently to Boot Barn "as fast as possible" means the slowest ground shipping. I called again and was on hold- finally leaving a message with no reply. I still don't have boots and have yet to receive a basic apology. Extremely frustrated and disappointed. read more
