This review covers my interaction, support and service from project manager Alexis and his work crew that removed 4 decorative trees about 25ft tall off my property. The tree removal work covered 2 days which was more than enough time to cover any issues that may have come up but didn't. Communication was efficient and expedient. If clarity was needed by phone Alexis was always available during business hours when at the store. My 4 trees removal was quoted to take 2 whole days but was completed early. Alexis and his work crew were fantastic all the way through. They arrived as scheduled and earlier than on time each day. The crew showed exceptional teamwork and were very easy to communicate with. They were respectful of the property and left the yard looking better in the areas they worked than when they first started. I will definitely seek out Alexis and his work crew again when I have future tree care and landscaping needs. read more

My experience with Moon Valley Nurseries was not a positive one. They engage in false advertising and charge exorbitant prices for their plants. With rare exception, once they get your name on a contract, they cease communicating with you. They did not come across with the promised arborist services, providing a story about the arborist getting into an accident with the company vehicle. They are questionable at best! read more

Stopped in a couple of weeks ago, what an experience! We were met by Jordan who drove us around and explained the different trees and options that would work with what we were looking to do. He then met us at our house made some more suggestions and scheduled the removal and addition of a couple of trees. My husband and I went to Moon Valley Nurseries on 4/30/26 to buy fruit trees. Damian welcomed us very kindly and warmly at Moon Valley Nurseries. He gave us a long tour to see the fruit trees. Then he helped us choose the specific kinds of trees we wanted and marked them with colorful stripes. He was very nice, professional and answered all of our questions. At the office he worked with his manager to reach a deal within our initial budget. He coordinated the delivery date, and gave us the planting materials and vitamins. Then he came to our yard to mark the spots for the trees. After that he brought us the mulch sacks, some additional vitamins and insect spray for the fruit trees. He gave me his contact number and patiently answered my many questions. Overall, he walked us through the planting process which we did for the first time by ourselves. The atmosphere has changed, and my experience felt much more like dealing with a group of car salespeople than professionals focused on helping customers. Obviously, if I could give 10 stars I would. We lost a 100 year-old oak tree that seemed like part of the family. Though I would have loved to replant another oak I needed fast growing, and an oak is not that. My yard was suffering from needing shade it no longer had. I had a few ideas in mind and from the beginning, Brandon helped me narrow down the possibilities. He was amazing from day one. I am a nervous buyer, and this was no small purchase. I purchased an 8-9' ginkgo tree about a year ago. I also purchased a 2-year tree care package...I think the care package was about $800. They've come out exactly once in this past year. I've emailed or phoned them a total of 12 TIMES! Yes, that's correct...12 times...the guy I spoke with yesterday looked it up and told me this. All sorts of excuses, mostly the schedulers and the guy who does this have quit. But this is beyond ridiculous! Moonvalley Nursery has gone beyond my highest expectations!!! In 2025 I planted a forest in my front yard (8-trees) that were on the larger size and exactly what they promised, you have instant gratification for every dollar spent. Fast forward to this year (I purchased the extended care for a year) in the spring, I noticed that one of the large trees they planted the previous year, looked like it was not doing well. I was within the one year guarantee and Sy from the Gilroy store came out to look at the tree and agreed that it actually needed to be replaced!!!! So he sent a better replacement tree than I actually purchased the first time!!!! He sent Santos Garcia and his crew to replace the tree and they went above and beyond with replanting and returning the area around the tree to look like nothing was ever replanted, so kudos to the crew!!!! We had an incredible experience at Moon Valley Nurseries in Gilroy! We stopped by to shop for shrubs and trees because their general manager Noah let us know they have 20 acres of material they grow locally to revamp our yard! We went over our landscape and they helped us create a design to be planted by their crews. The customer service was excellent and we are very excited for planting day! Along with all of their trees and shrubs they had a new area of small flowering shrubs, color, veggies, herbs, veggie baskets, color baskets that I picked up and took home with me to plant! This place is huge that they give you a joy ride on the cart. We worked with Decision to select some good sized maple trees, indian laurels, and camellias. Decision was so knowledgable about the trees' max size that would fit with our backyard size. We plan to come back for some more next summer. Moon Valley Nurseries was a referral from a friend. We went in December before Christmas to browse. Planting a tree was our Christmas present to ourselves. :) We were greeted by Damian "Rose" -NOT a stage name-haha. He was friendly and had a very professional demeanor, and was super knowledgeable about every tree, plant, bush in the lot. We were not sure what type of tree we wanted to plant but Damian helped us narrow it down to the best kind of tree that would adapt to being planted during this time of year. He explained the difference between standard and multi branch trees, and the deciduous one. Since we want leaves year-round, we decided on a Jacaranda. Working with Damian was an all- around great experience. He drove us around the property showing us the various trees to select from, let us pick a few limes from the trees and overall listened to us. The picture is from the day it was planted, just after Christmas. The team that came to plant it worked very well together. They dug the hole wide enough and deep enough, they leveled the tree after putting it in the ground, put the mulch around it, and were done in no time. Stopped in today to buy California pepper trees. Sam was very helpful; drove us around the yard, helped us decide if we wanted single trunk or spreading trunk, got our trees tagged and brought us back to the office. He got us checked out and our delivery scheduled. We were in and out in an hour. Moon Valley delivers, plants, and provides an arborist to check on the tree 3 times in the first year as well as fertilizing and recommending watering schedules. We will be back. read more
