Walked in here today because I live right near by, and for the first time I saw that it was open. I was at first really excited, because when I looked around, it looked like an amazing place for all the basics of tough clothing and footwear! I am a young professional in architecture, and this place reminded me of visits to job sites, and some wood shop, metal shop, and welding projects that I worked on in school. Unfortunately my mood was almost immediately ruined as an elderly white gentleman that was talking to the white individual at the register switched their topic of conversation from business lately, to theft, and raised their voices to the point that I could overhear them no matter where I was in the store. I assumed this was random chatter though and not immediately directed at me until I turned around and they were staring directly at me. And as they continued their conversation, they continued to watch me around the store. Now, I am not at all a stranger to being profiled (Filipino, darker skinned), but the feeling of them watching me as I walked around the store made me extremely uncomfortable, to the point that after a couple of minutes, I left. I was really looking forward to buying some new work boots and equipment, as a couple of jobs recently came back, but I will never come back to this store again. read more

A couple of days ago I went to buy some new clothes for work. The employee who was there was the only one there but had time to help me out. It took an hour to find the boots that would fit me properly. When I was about to give up the elderly employee found me a pair of Timberline pros in my size and on sale. I will admit I was in sticker shock, then I realized it was cheaper than going to Walmart every few months to replace my colthes. read more

My son needed steel-toed boots for his new job so I decided to try this store. We were both very pleased with the variety of clothing and safety equipment in stock and especially on sale when we visited! It truly has everything a "workingman" (or woman) could want! As the name suggests, these guy cater to the blue collar crowd. In hoity toity silicon valley it's nice to know there's a place where us ordinary folks can go and feel like we're human beings even though we drive up in a piece o junk. The best part is that these guys are actually helpful. Excellent selection of SERIOUS work clothing. They don't cater to the fashion segment of the market, and stick to the hardcore blue collar work clothing. The best place hands-down in the south bay for Carhartt. Terrific selection of Dickies, Ben Davis, and boots as well. A note regarding Carhartt--this place sells only first-quality product, and for very good prices. There are other retailers out there that sell factory seconds, and you don't realize it until a few days later and see a crooked seam or flaw in the fabric. This store represents EVERYTHING I want in a local store. Awesome customer service, very organized, large selection of sizes, affordable pricing, and great products. My husband usually shops here for his work wear and I have a few boots from this place as well. If you can't find exactly what you are looking for, they have catalogs you can peruse. They carry hard to find sizes, including tall sizes and the prices are pretty low for the Bay Area. I would rather drive to this location to shop than purchase items online. read more

I gotta laugh when I see the category this store is in: Fashion! (snort) Nothing in this store has changed much in years - this is the place for Carhartt, Dickies, Ben Davis and the like. And, if you happen to need an orange jumpsuit (and the state isn't providing one for you), this is the place to get it. Store is neatly laid out - stuff is easy to find, and the prices are pretty reasonable, considering it'll probably last forever. These guys have been here for 40 years or more, and they know their stuff. Nice private parking lot just north of the store - just be careful pulling out - the light rail runs RIGHT OUT FRONT. read more

I guess the only complaint is that I'd like to see the bargain t-shirt and hoodie racks filled with more Wrangler or Ely Cattleman, Roper, etc. instead. However, I've never left this place without buying something and I don't exactly go there looking for 'work' wear. So, it's really more my problem than theirs. But in this part of the state, finding decent clothes that don't either fall apart, cost 5x as much as they should or cut off circulation to every piece of anatomy they touch is difficult. If it isn't designed for the obese, it's intentionally too small hipster junk. Regardless, I genuinely enjoy being in this store and I'm glad it exists. read more

They have an alright selection. Not enough American made products. There are a few boot and clothing companies that still make their products in the states, and it would be nice to see a work clothing store carry these products, too. At least offer them. I was pleased by this store. The people who answer the phones and the gentleman who helped with some Carharrt shirts I could not find anywhere else. The products they sell are mostly of high quality and the prices where average or a bit higher. If I figure how much gas costs to go somewhere farther, it's cheaper just to make my purchases here. This is a great family run shop with history. Staff is friendly and super helpful. The prices on dickey's are fantastic and the price on their waterproof gear is unbeatable. What I paid over 300 for at REI I was able to get here for 100 and it is much more durable was not a brand I was familiar with but the quality was top notch.
