The selection is no joke they've got everything from rugged workwear to rhinestone cowgirl vibes. If it's denim or leather, it's here in every color, cut, and confidence level. The service? Pretty solid. One guy asked if I needed help, and before I knew it, we were discussing the subtle differences between square toe and snip toe like it was a wine tasting. They know their stuff and don't hover, which I appreciate. Let me wander and fantasize about owning a ranch in peace. Prices aren't bargain basement, but the quality justifies the tag. These boots aren't falling apart anytime soon unless I do something stupid in them. And they've got a clearance section that feels like a treasure hunt for cowboys on a budget. Bottom line? Chase is the worst at customer service , he absolutely sucks. He needs to be trained on how to deal with customers. He was rude to me in front of other workers and customers. I returned boots that hurt my feet and I've returned in the past. He made me feel like I was doing something wrong after spend hundreds of dollars there all the time. The store was well organized and had a wide selection of jeans. I received amazing service from the 2 team members that I interacted with on my last visit. First thing is first : Note to owner please update address , you are no longer at the esplanade location so please do your due diligence and update the correct address on Yelp and google. We went in 9/3/23 slow afternoon at about 2:00pm and nobody gave us a welcome or anything . Maybe I'm use to the customer service I got at the esplanade location but let me tell you these ladies NEED more training. When you come to a store you greet the customer and assist them with anything they need . We legit had to go hunting to find someone to "assist" us but not really . I asked for a certain size and she said when your ready come get me .... I mean I was ready but okay ...? So I sat and waited thinking she would come back and nope she didn't . Then I started getting frustrated just took the one boot to the front and made the cashier get me the correct size ! Like really ?! It's Sunday , many customers looked lost and un helped . We are all on the same boat . Lastly we are a local business at the mall as well , you should HIGHLY close your doors in the back side when your stocking or doing inventory because we businesses' that share the same hall can hear E V E R Y T H I N G., your staff talks about idk if I would want to rehire some of these "ladies" after all the BS we heard . Worst customer service. No one greats you, smiles, offers to help, or goes out of their way to do anything at all. The manager mean mugged all the customers. When I asked her questions about merchandise, her replies were that of complete inconvenience, and she would walk away. I finally was able to get assistance from a sweet girl named Amanda, but the rest of the staff was worthless and shouldn't have jobs in customer service. Yesterday I walked into boot barn just to browse and POSSIBLY get some new boots. To say my fiancé & I were harassed by the employees is an understatement. In the course of 20 minutes , 7 DIFFERENT employees asked us if we needed assistance, 7. Some of them asking multiple times! After very politely declining over and over again we were still bombarded with tons of questions & useless information we did not ask for. It was more uncomfortable than helpful , long story short we were so overwhelmed we almost walked out empty handed! I have just witnessed an extremely unfortunate event at the Chico Ca boot barn A couple of ladies were purchasing boots and the customer asked for military discount. The store associate helping her, Lizzett (who was not wearing a name tag and name was found out later on) said she would get it after the lady showed her military ID. Once the transaction was completed, the customer double checked the discount was applied and it was not. The associate acknowledged she forgot. She went to get the manager and came back to let us know the manger was on the phone and would be out when he was done. About 5 minutes later another associate comes out, Andrew (actually wearing a name tag), and apologized but was not able to help her because the transaction already went through. She said to just go ahead and return it all. He walks away then comes back to ask to see the military ID. She showed him then he asked to physically see it and took a while examining it as if the problem was the authenticity of the ID when it was forgetfulness of the associate. The manger, Wyatt, comes to do the return and add the discount. At the end he tells the customer he is a veteran and asked that she show her ID next time after his close examination. She said she did and he said he was there to protect his associates and the lady needed to leave. The customers friend came in to ask for the stores associates names (lizette and Wyatt) because they didn't have name tags. She told Lizette it would have been nice to correct the manager when he was wrongly accusing the customer of not showing her ID. She forgot Wyatt's name and asked again. He immediately declined and said he needed to ask her to leave. She asked again and he asked her to leave several times more and the store security guy came to assist her exit. She politely (and had been the whole time) asked the security guy what the mangers name was and replied "Wyatt" and she left without problem. How is this expectable to refuse telling someone your name and making them leave because of it? Why was the customer treated as if the associates accident was the customers fault? Can security cameras prove that the ID was actually shown and the associate lied? I mean I saw the whole thing go down and so appalled I left my Christmas items and left. Shame on you boot barn. I'd come here for any occasion. I've came here since I was just a kid. Got tons of boots and clothes. I relied on them for wranglers and ariat jeans. They never seem to be low on stock of my Jean size which is rare. It helps that some workers know what they are talking about rather than feeling like a nuisance. Overall I'm really happy boot barn helped me for all my rodeos and work gear. read more

This store has a "horrible" store return policy. They make it as difficult as possible for people to return items that don't fit properly. They want you to order items on their kiosk and then if that doesn't fit correctly they will only send a gift card in the mail rather than letting you just choose another item in store. I will NEVER buy another gift here for my family. They lost a lot of business. They may not care, but the community cares. read more

After visiting the Chico store back in March and not having a very good shopping experience in that location, I traveled from Oroville to Chico to find some jeans, The girls in this store greeted me, asked if I needed help looking for anything in particular. Store is small but bigger isn't always better. I ended up buying a new pair of works boots while I was at it. The store was clean, the girls were helpful and the manager was awesome. The girl who helped me was Heather. She was very professional and knowledgeable. One thing I did notice was the amount of homeless hanging around on the street near entrance. but thats not really Boot Barns problem. Really wish I didnt have to drive to Yuba or Chico, oroville could use a store. Need less to say I will either be shopping here or Diamond W from now on. read more

Best place to shop for boots, hands down. Bought our son boots for Christmas from boot barn (we always buy all of our boots here). The back of one of the boots had stitching come out at the end of February. Our son was away at college and could not get back till this weekend to exchange them. The staff was friendly, understanding, professional, and got us in and out with a exchange on Easter. I do not blame them for the boots stitching coming out. They do not make the boots. And every other pair we have ever bought here has lasted years. This just happened to be a boot that was somehow stitched incorrectly and missed in the inspection process before being shipped to the store. No big deal. Overpriced cowboy-ish clothing. Terrible selection of women's work boots. If you need a style or size they don't carry (which, if you're female, you will), they ask for a $50 deposit for your 'special order'. If you're serious about your craft, weather it be outdoor work, horseback riding, or anything that requires clothing that lasts, I recommend supporting a local shop rather than this unimpressive chain store. read more

I went to Boot Barn to look for some durable work jeans; Carharts, Wranglers, Schmitt something along those lines. I was never greeted opon entering, never asked if I needed help, or a changing room. Which honestly doesn't bother me. What does bother me: When I started browsing their Carhart selection trying to find my size which was in the bottom cubby. As I crouched down I noticed a dead cockroach in the corner. Gross, but at least it was dead. Then I decided to just scan the ground (maybe it was just one), wrong! I noticed three dead cockroaches just in the one corner of the store. Gross, I thought to my self as I started reaching for my size jeans again. To my utter horror when I pulled out the size I needed a live cockroach fell into my other out stretched hand. I freaked out dropped the jeans, and stepped on it. Maybe it was some weird fluke I thought to my self. So I decided to kick the next stack of jeans in the bottom cubby right next to the one I grabbed. Unfortunately, two cockroaches ran out that time. I stomped the life out of them real quick! I put back the jeans I had pulled from the bottom, as I figured I should only grab stuff from the highest shelves. I ended up buying three pairs of jeans despite the six cockroaches I had seen. I then decided to head to Tractor Supply to see their section. They greeted me, asked me if I needed help and showed me where the changing rooms were. Now their shelves were a little messy but NO COCKROACHES! I also noticed that all their work jeans were about 5-10 bucks cheaper then Boot Barn. Bought 5 pairs and Im returning the ones I got at Boot Barn. read more
