Great selection of used sports equipment. I personally go for their golf section which occasionally has some nice hidden gems.

This place is insanely expensive for used junk. Look somewhere else for you sporting good needs

Very disappointed how long it took to get an answer on a product I paid for months ago that they had ordered. Lack of communication with me calling more than 10 times through the wait. Towards the end of the wait I called twice with asking for a call back from a manager without a response. I wouldn't try to order something with them again and will look elsewhere at this point. This happened on Nov 14, 2023 I would like to give a heart felt shout out to the employees at Play It Again Sports (by Target) in Chico California for their help with my grandson at approximately 2:21 pm. on November 13, 2023. They went beyond their duties and helped keep him safe and letting him call me and the police for help. They fed him a snack and stayed with him until the police got there. He is now safe with me. I can't say enough good things about Play It Again Sports in Live Oak. I needed a new pickleball paddle. The three staff members I dealt with, over the span of several days, were flexible, informative, and friendly. When there was no loaner that met my specifications, they allowed me to borrow a new one, which I subsequently purchased! It was great to shop local, and I couldn't have gotten a better price anywhere else. And when I asked about options to find new homes for used pickleballs, they even offered to take them. Little disappointed. Purchased a treadmill 2.5 years ago from these guys. I called to troubleshoot a problem with the running belt not working. I suspected it was the motor. I was not expecting any type of warranty service, just help to decide if I should purchase a new one. The clerk said they had one for $800. I was willing to purchase it if they could deliver it to us (8 miles away). He went to ask the "manager" who said "the price of gas is high, we don't deliver" I told the clerk, I was trying to give them business if they could work with us. Short story long. My golf clubs were stolen from me. I left Chico Play It Again Sports a description of everything that was stolen from me. After weeks of checking in my clubs appeared in the store. The store still had the paper with the description of everything that was stolen. I showed them pictures and everything to prove that they were mine, everything matched. Yet they still made me pay to get all of my belongings back. Never doing business here again. read more

I can't say enough good things about this place. I read the negative reviews and those people must have a chip on their shoulders. I was able to get my whole family outfitted for skiing (2 adults and 3 kids) for about the same as if we outfitted only one person with new gear. If you're a novice or intermediate level in a sport and if you're ok with used gear, this place is awesome. I've been there numerous times... some browsing and some buying... and I've never had a negative experience. I'm not sure what some people expect when they go into a used sporting goods store. I have gone to Play It Again Sports many times and usually I have been very satisfied but just a few days ago I went in to trade some equipment and they gave me terrible customer service. They seemed happy that I was trading some equipment but when they gave me a extremely low price for the equipment I said no and all of a sudden they we're extremely rude and visibly angry and annoyed. I was shocked I've never been treated like that there before. Unless they are sincerely sorry for this treatment I don't think I will come back here again. read more

I've been searching high and low for reasonably priced weight plates for months. Covid has made them incredibly hard to find. I swung through and behold, they had exactly what I wanted. Now the find was pure luck. Someone had traded them in not 10 minutes before. What was nice to see was the price. It was a normal, pre-covid price. They guy even said you could buy these and easily flip them on craigslist for double or triple (not a chance I'm doing that!). I was very appreciative that they weren't gouging for something they knew was in short supply. We've previously only come here for my kids baseball equipment. Terrible service! They say they buy back used gloves and equipment, however when we took our gloves and shoes into the store, we overheard the female employee say to the male employee that we were quoted at $97, "should I just give them $100?" And the guy saying, "no, give them $90" Are you kidding me??? We just heard you rip us off...I will never go back to this place. Terrible customer service!! read more

If I had a local business, I would be so grateful that locals shopped at my store. Not these people! I have been to that store approximately 5 times and only once have I ever been greeted as they stare at you when you walk in. Awkward! That same time they actually helped me find something. They must have been having a good day because all the other times, no greeting, no help and they were rude. Not only is the manager rude to his employees in front of customers, there is never a "thank you" for shopping here or even a "have a nice day." My husband said thank you to them...why? If only there was another store that had used sports apparel for my kids. I think I learned my lesson and will not shop here again. Weak. read more

Started coming to Play It Again Sports when I was younger with my mom to get sports stuff. Having played sports from the time I was 4 years old to rec league softball now, I have always Been in need of sporting equipment and Alex and everyone working there have always treated me with the utmost respect. They don't always have exactly what you need but they always know who might. This all culminated yesterday in a bad situation I was put into by a supposed friend. Gave a guy some softball bats as payment for some carpet he'd lay. He ended up not doing the carpet and selling my bats to get the money at play it again. Went in and explained all of this and what had happened. Was able to trade some gloves and paid cash and obtained my bats back. Although I'm out a good amount of cash and the other bats I had to sell from Getting screwed over on the carpet deal, at least I still have some of my stuff.
