I can't recommend BoonPC highly enough. If you want details... I returned from a trip overseas and found that my Lenovo Thinkpad wouldn't start - I got a "Fan Error" message. I found the Yelp review of BoonPC and called and spoke with Noon - she told me that Boon PC won't order parts but that if I ordered a new fan they would be happy to install it. I thought this was an unusual way to do business, but OK, maybe that means they focus strictly on repair. 48 hours later I took the Thinkpad and a new fan in about 11:00 AM expecting to have a week-long wait for the repair. Instead, at 6:30 PM that night I had a call telling me that my PC was ready. (Normally Boon closes at 6:00 PM). I asked how long they would be in the shop and Noon asked if I was far away. I rushed over and at 7:00 PM had my laptop, new fan installed. The charge was extremely reasonable. The next day I noticed that a couple of keys were sticking and not working well. I took the Thinkpad back to Boon thinking that there was a misplaced wire under the keyboard. It was a Saturday... Noon said that the machine would be ready by Monday. I asked if there was any possibility to have it by Sunday. She said that they weren't open on Sunday but that she would stay late on Saturday to finish the repair. In the event, she called me at 3PM saying that the keyboard was fixed. She had completely cleaned the keypad and everything worked great. I offered to pay for the additional cleaning but she insisted that there was no charge. She even gave me advice about how to keep it from overheating. The machine now works great. So - accurate diagnosis, strict focus on repair (and not on getting parts markups), extreme customer service orientation, reasonable prices, excellent technical work. Boon PC is hands down the best business to go to for CPU related problems. I'm not easy to please in a professional setting. My respect for Boon and his talents are well deserved. In a tough economy where there are large companies such as Best Buy's Geek Squad and others, Boon outshines them all. Not only is he a genius when it comes to CPU's he also has the best rates bar none. I was one of Boons first customers years ago and needed help with troubleshooting my medical practices servers. A task I wouldn't trust to just anyone. I had the company that installed the servers on site and they were having trouble, as well as charging a steep hourly price. An employee of mine recommended BOON PC. Boon not only saved me money but time and stress. That was over 10 years ago. He's since done extensive work not only for me but for several of my colleagues. I highly recommend Boon PC if you want outstanding service at a more than fair price. Another reviewer remarked that Boone PC seemed somewhat lax, I can see how one may get that impression, I had the same impression initially, however years of business with him has shown me otherwise. Bottom line if you need CPU repair, Boon PC will get it done at more than a fair price. His rates were ridiculously low a decade ago and they still are to this day. Even having read all the glowing Yelp and Google reviews about Boon, I was still extremely surprised when I went to him by how great he was in every way. The man himself is friendly, approachable, and genuinely eager to provide the best and fastest service for the lowest price. He clearly has a gift for working with computers. Watching him work, it is almost as though he is able to intuit computer problems and their solutions. He is extremely honest, extremely generous with his time and with his prices, and will work with you to meet your needs and make things as easy as possible. My situation was that I had a computer with an apparently failed hard drive due to water damage. I had sent it to Sony (the manufacturer) for an estimate on repairs, and they quoted me $1,300, including $400 for a new hard drive. I refused Sony's service, got my computer back, and searched the Web for a good computer repair shop in Bethesda. I found Boon, took the computer to him, and had it fixed in 1 day for $125. I didn't even have to buy a new hard drive. Needless to say, I am extremely pleased with Boon's service. I have recommended him to everyone I know, both in and out of town. In the future, I will never think of taking my computer anywhere else. His service was far superior to Sony's, and his price and turnaround time were absolutely incredible. read more

Mr Boon is the right man in the right place at the right time. Operating out of a single room on the upper floor of a dingy little mall in Bethesda, he combines the two skills essential in any computer-repair/salvage operation. (a) His friendly manner and calm assurance avert incipient heart-attacks in anyone who, like me, goes to him with not one but two laptops, both crashed and, of course, not backed up. (b) He then delivers. Fixed my laptops in three hours, salvaged the data, backed everything up to an external hard drive. Even cleaned them, with discreetly disapproving noises about the state I'd let them get into. All done with courtesy and charm. At a cost which stunned by its reasonableness. My Dell Laptop needed to be restored, i did not want to deal with the hassles and long waiting you get with geek squad so I looked for an independent company. I am glad I found BoonPC on yelp. After reading the testimonies and the fact that they can give it back to me in 2 days, I decided to give them a call. I had my computer like new in about 24hrs for a reasonable price. I love the fact that you don't have to worry about dropping your laptop off and not knowing who will work on it. Took care of my slow PC I'm guessing I got some malware, dropped it off and they were able to clean up the registry and remove a ton of temp file and just did some computer house cleaning. Which I think needs to be done now and then. It's booting up much faster now and programs are not freezing up as well. Took a bit to get it done which put me without out a computer for 4 days thankfully I got it back before computer withdraws kicked in. read more
