I have never ever had a quality meal that I would like to go back for at a chain restaurant, which Bonefish Grill is. This might be my only exception! I went here last Saturday with a friend because she had won a gift certificate and wanted to share it! I was the first to arrive at 8, and went to put in our names for a table. I walked up to the podium, where I thought I was supposed to check in. The employee rudely pointed me to a man standing in front of the door who apparently was taking names. He was friendly, but I don't really understand why they did this. They should differentiate the greeter a little better. We decided a 60-90 minute late was a little too long for us, so we opted for one of the seats at a table by the bar. We ordered drinks, an appetizer, and entrees. My friend enjoyed her drink, a white sangria, but I wasn't a fan so much of mine. I opted for the margarita. It tasted like it had a lot of salt in the bottom. They ended up arriving after we were done with our appetizers. Weird. We opted for the crab cakes, which totally won me over. They were full of lump crab meat and very little "extras" in the middle. SO good, especially for a chain restaurant! I wanted to try the salmon and asparagus salad, but the waitress said it was very large. She then suggested the house salad with salmon on top. I liked it, and it had a very big piece of salmon on top that was well cooked! I was so full, I couldn't finish the salad. Next time, I will order the crab cakes and a regular salad. I wish I wouldn't have taken the waitress up on the salad though, it added about 7 dollars to the bill. I would like to come back to this restaurant, if not only for the crab cakes. It is perhaps a little bit over rated, but they do know fish well. read more

Ok, it's a chain. That's true. And I heartily dislike their Italian and steak counterparts... Carrabba's and Outback. On the other hand, I love their high end variations in Flemings and, particularly, Roy's. For me, Bonefish Grill falls squarely in the middle. On the positive side, you can get fresh fish. I've always been a sucker for their Chilean sea bass with the oscar topping - crab meat and asparagus. The price has risen considerably over the years, but it's still a fine choice. Currently, you can add a pound of Alaskan king crab to any meal for less than $20. I can't buy it at the store for that price, so that deal makes a visit worth it all on its own. Finally, if you've never had bang bang shrimp, you're doing yourself a disservice. It's $5 on Wednesdays, but it's also a madhouse on those days. I'd recommend sitting at the bar and sharing some appetizers and a pound of king crab. You won't regret it. Having said all this, it's still a chain, and these restaurants are almost always located in strip malls with inadequate parking. Because of these two reasons, I can't give them more than 3 stars. read more

Love this place. Great seafood. Great service. The Tilapia Imperial is my go to. Well balanced and decadent. On my last visit they had their soft shell crab. It's always such a treat to get that. They stuff it with a crab cake. I had it with thermidor sauce. As always, fantastic. Update: New menu items. Came in for dinner today specifically to try the Ribeye with White Truffle Butter Perfect cook. Great cut of meat! The menu doesn't specify but that was definitely prime. The Truffle Butter was phenomenal! No extra charge and oh so good! Got, as always , the asparagus which was the biggest disappointment on the plate. When fresh asparagus is my biggest complaint you have done everything else to perfection. In the spirit of trying out the new menu I had the new Porcini Ravioli as my other side. Oh my goodness am I glad I did! Absolutely fantastic! They need to make an entree out of this. Put these little treasures with a great fish and sauce and I'm in! Had a new wine to the menu as well. The 10 Spans Pinot Noir was the perfect accompaniment. Great berry freshness. Dry but not too dry. Not oaky (I HATE oaky). All in all this meal made me a bigger fan than I already was. read more

We had a party of 11 & we were seated at two separate booths because they weren't equipped to handle a group that size at one table. I have eaten at Bonefish Grill numerous times and never had a bad meal. In general, the fish is alway fresh and the wait staff attentive. Oh, yeah...and their Bang Bang Shrimp is fantastic if you like things a little spicy. The wine list is extensive and the ambiance is great. Last night however, I had my first bad experience. About 10 or 15 minutes AFTER I ordered, our waitress told us they were out of pasta. I was very disappointed and had a hard time selecting another option. After much deliberation I opted for the fish and chips. It was perfectly done, but in my opinion, a little over-priced ($10.50) for such a simple meal. Both the floor manager and kitchen manager came out to apologize- something I did not expect- so I have to give Bonefish top rating for customer service. There are 2 reasons, however, why I did not give Bonefish a higher overall rating. (1) Our waitress got defensive, argumentative, and frustrated when I told her how disappointed I was, and that I it took me a while to decide on another option. (2) the manager told us the only reason they ran out of pasta was that the management gets a bonus for coming under inventory each month...in other words, they would rather run out of items at the end of the month, than keep a well stocked restaurant, so they can get a bonus. The lesson to be learned is that Bonefish Grill is a great restaurant to go to most of the time, but be wary about going at the end of the month. read more

It was my birthday dinner on Tuesday, September 18th. My boyfriend & I were sat at the table close to all the walking traffic. I waited 20 minutes for one glass of Chardonnay. He waited 30 for a refill. When our salads came, my boyfriend found a hair in his. Then the main course; my boyfriend's side was incorrect when he ordered the green beans, he received broccoli, but we didn't feel like complaining anymore at this point due to having to complain around 3-4 times up to then, so we didn't mention it. When our waiter first took our order I asked if he needed to write it down, he said no he's been in the serving business for 7 years! When our food arrived and I saw the order was wrong I just laughed. Seems very amateur. IF I come back it will not be to this location. I can't believe it costs this much with this poor service, poor hygiene, and poor experience. read more

We visited early on a Friday evening and there was was no wait. Our server arrived promptly. She seemed knowledgable about the menu and drink selection. We tried a few cocktails and all were fresh and delicious especially like their new Sidecar. We bypassed the popular shrimp bang-bang because of the spice and ordered the coconut shrimp appetizer. The quality and variety were there, as was a certain thoughtfulness about the plating (they kept the fries away from the wet) and the menu selections. The wine list is good; it has selections at every price point and the house wine is v good. Our server, Monica, was relaxed and generous with the tips. This is one of my favorite places to go for not too expensive great seafood! I've been here many times but never written a review, every time I've come here it's been great food. Bonefish hands down has the BEST crab cakes. Some places taste like the crab meat comes out of the can and may have been frozen, but their crab cakes have large chunks of fresh crab and such a great flavor. For entrees I usually get the crab crusted cod, which is a lightly breaded piece of cod with chunks of crab on top of it. It's amazing! I've also had the lobster stuffed shrimp, which is great! The only complaint I have is that the green beans are always way too crunchy and taste undercooked even when I ask for them to be cooked longer but once I said something about it the server exchanged my side for free and the sweet potato mash is TO DIE FOR. The manager heard it was my friends birthday and bought her a drink (the white cosmo which was good but strong!) and dessert, which we got the flourless brownie! Received the craziest response from a server that is too hot in kitchen & the mask restricts breathing. What? Craziest justification. So bonefish in Hyde Park is still letting unmask workers cook people's food. Cooks Negative today positive tomorrow and how you tell others and public. We didn't eat there. My parents love Bonefish Grill, so we eat there fairly often. The last time we ate there was on a Friday and I had made reservations for 6:15. However, they were busier than usual and we didn't get seated until after 6:30. Shortly after we were seated, the manager came to our table and profusely apologized. He bought us a round of drinks and appetizers for the table. Our server Emily was so good with my parents. I am usually a big fan of Bonefish. Unfortunately my experience this past Sunday was less than desirable. The prices were higher than i recall and the food quality was lower. A grouper dish, which was 26 dollars, was overcooked and chewy. For 26 dollars, overcooked grouper is unacceptable. Similarly, the fish tacos were also overdone. We were unable to notify our server because he never returned until we were waiting for the check. The food and service left a bad taste (or should I say overdone) and i will not be back. read more

We just recently went here and had such a frustrating experience, I had to share. It was my grandmother's 93rd birthday, and she loves seafood, so we took her here despite the fact that I'm a vegetarian. I figured there'd be something for me since it's becoming more common. Well, the only option was a house salad and a few sides. The house salad was $3.50 with an entree and $8.50 as an entree. Ok, fine, so I ordered this as an entree-- let me reiterate, on their menu, it says "$8.50 as an entree." So I order 2 sides which also say $3.50 with an entree-- $7 without entree. Well when the bill comes, they had charged me $14 for the sides because my salad "doesn't count as an entree", yet it said right there on the menu I was ordering it "as an entree". I asked our server and after she and her manager stood in the corner glancing over at our table, she returned to tell me my salad didn't count as an entree even though, once more, it said it did on the menu. And that was the ONLY choice for a vegetarian. It was completely annoying and the manager seemed to lack a lot of class for a restaurant like this, especially when our bill was well over $100, and he was clearly wrong, and he didn't even have the decency to walk over, but instead stood in the corner, arms crossed, staring over at us. read more

We recently ordered a family bundle meal during quarantine, and the shrimp & mahi-mahi family dinner was exceptional. Tonight, I thought I would go with the special, which was Mahi-mahi with crab & spinach topping. Unfortunately, it was inedible...so fishy, I could not eat it. Then my daughter ordered the filet mignon and was served a strip steak. We did question whether it was a filet (not shape you anticipate) and were told, indeed it was....well, that was not a filet. My son was suppose to get a strip with his lobster. He definitely was served a filet. So, very disappointed. It was a special occasion for our family so less than desirable experience. This is my first time ever coming to Bonefish and I must say I am thoroughly happy with the experience. The customer service was excellent. The server who was working in the bar area was expertly attentive! She never let our glasses go empty and she even hooked us up during the happy hour. Major disappointment last night was that three of the four bread plates at the table were sticky. I asked our server to have the manager come by. Despite asking several times, no manager appeared. I come here often and I have never had a bad experience. The atmosphere is amazing and the food is as well. I usually get the filet and it never ceases to impress me. Last week I dined at both Ruth's chris and prime 47 and the filet at bonefish is by far better than both of their's. I was especially pleased with the service we received from Mike on our most recent visit. Not only did he remember my husband and I from a previous visit, he also spent quite awhile talking with us. Do I like franchises? no. Why? because the service is impersonal, and the food crappy. BUT! Bonefish Grill definitely didnt fit the stereotype for chain restaurants. It had the feel, the service, and the quality of food of a respectable culinary institution! Let's get to the food. We had Corn Chowder, "Tokyo" style Tuna, Chicken Marsala, and Tilapia. All of the fish and meat was grilled to a fleshy state of excellence. The tuna was cool, fleshy, drizzled with a delicious spicy sauce, covered in a tempura sesame shell, served with rice, ginger, and a side (I chose squash spaghetti). The chicken came with two sides, my brother had potatoes which were topped with crushed garlic and the squash. The chicken was grilled until it was slightly stringy - good. I found the Tilapia, also grilled, to have a great texture (the fish flakes apart at the touch of a fork) but lacking in flavor. The corn chowder a flipping hurricane of flavors. I brought my gf there or her birthday, and it was like best ever experience! I got my reservation online quickly as easily as could be. Parking is a little tight. The room was perfect temperature, which can be an issue - many restaurants are too cold. Service was very friendly, professional, fast. We got the muscles app - outstanding - truly best ever. I don't know what the broth was, but it couldn't be low fat. Worth it though. Great for dipping the bread. I got the chicken with goat cheese, my gf got steak. We loved our dishes. They gave my GF these chocolates for her BD, and a candle on our shared desert which was macadamia nut brownie. So delicious. And you know what? Not that expensive!! So, I am really going to give this place high ratings because it exceeded my expectations in every way. read more
