The double fries is now in one bag, the waitress said that the portion is still the same as before when it was given in two bags but I don't think so because I have ordered this Xl meal many times. My two clients invited me to try their store, Bonchon. I've had other versions of KFC before, but never like Bonchon except in Seoul. Not to expect a free meal, I used the Yelp app to order a family meal for me and my son in advance. Got the 1/2 Spicy and 1/2 Sweet Soy with pickled radish, of course. Upon arrival, I was greeted excitedly by my surprised clients and their staff. It a very clean store. I mean really tidy! It is a 30 minute drive home and yet the chicken was still warm and crispy. To my surprise, there was more in the box than I ordered. I gotta tell you, it did not go to waste! So delicious I had to slap myself! The spicy was just enough heat. The soy was fabulous too. We've only tried the chicken and fries because they never disappoint and we hope to try out a variety of items soon. I'm not reason I'm not giving 5 stars is because the service is a little slow however, with that said, the owner (I'm assuming she's the owner) is SOOOO friendly and attentive. One of my favorite BonChon spots around east bay! My first time experience here was not the greatest since they forgot our order and we had wait a extra time 20-30 minutes. The lady was very apologetic and ask if we wanted drinks and gave us a coke. The second time around, it was a much younger nice gal who helped us out and everything went smoothly! Chicken is always made fantastic here! The chicken and radish combo is to die for! She told us sweet crunch was not going to be a flavor anymore in BonChon so that's a bummer! We really love Bonchun and tried this place 3 times since it's close to home. I've been to the San Jose & Elk Grove locations and had great experiences there. In this location, we've tried the: Chicken Strips Boneless Wings Tteokbokki Potstickers The side dishes were good no complaints! Requested extra fish cake & kimari (I said I was ok with additional charges) with the Tteokbokki but this option is not available here. We've ordered the chickens plain, with soy garlic, and spicy. The wings are the stars at Bonchon. They make two flavors. One is a milder Asian flavor and the other one has a bit of kick. We have visited twice. The first time we got half and half. We really loved the mild flavor, so the second time we got a larger order of only the mild. While we enjoyed the spicy, if I want spicy wings I would go traditional Buffalo style at a Wing Stop or Buffalo Wild Wings. The restaurant is small, well-managed, and clean. K pop music videos for better or worse. No outdoor seating, but they keep the door open for ventilation. Other really good food was the beef tacos. Very filling and great flavors. We have tried popcorn shrimp, potstickers, and the French fries. This review is for service only, not about food or ambiance. Yesterday, I ordered chicken to be picked up at curbside at 11:30AM for my daughter's potluck at school. Around 11:10AM I received the confirmation email of the order submission. I was requested to call them 5 min prior to arrival, which I did. That's when I learned the order has NOT been processed. I was given options to cancel the order or to wait another 20 min and I had to accept as I could not wait. The person who took the call explained that they were not aware of the order due to a system error, but no apology. I got the impression that, since I was getting the refund, there is nothing for me to complain about. When I demanded an apology, the store person said, I could call her boss later today. I didn't request additional things other than a sincere apology and a refund (which was already promised), but I could not understand why I would need to make a SEPARATE call to her boss for a simple apology. I believe it is because the person who took the phone doesn't think the mishap had anything to do with her and that it's simply the system's fault. I am sorry, but when you speak to a customer, you represent the company at that moment. I understand that you would not have the authority to provide anything beyond the refund, but you could at least make a sincere apology. They appear to do a brisk business on take out orders. Walking in, no one greeted me, saw a table for two, grabbed a menu and seat myself down. The servers didn't appear to be happy or cheerful. The bibimbab looked appealing with a wide selection for meat. Since fried chicken is their specialty, I desired to go with their strength, Ordered the small combo (mix drumsticks and wings), half half sauces (soy and spicy), and coleslaw. The food was delivered piping hot. Starting with the coleslaw then one of spicy chicken. I must admit the wings are much more flavorful then meaty drumstick. It's probably a personal preference. Despite the two flavors, I thought the two taste very similar where the spicy has the same soy based but with a hint of spice, dry mild. So I go back but stick with the wings or try the bibimbab. Having tried several locations in the Bay Area, I would say this is one of my favorites because the chicken is delicious and juicy. Surprisingly, this location is rated so low :( but I think they deserve some love. The staff are friendly, despite not having a lot of people working; this might be the reason why service can be a little slow. I haven't tried dining in, but calling them and picking up for a dinner combo usually only takes up to half an hour. I have only tried their fried chicken (mainly half & half drumsticks), but they have a lot more options and sides that I'd love to try next time. Bonchon is always great and something I crave almost every other week. It's been a while since my wife and I ate at Bonchon so we came here to this new location last night for dinner. Our usual go-to is the Medium Combo with half and half. We had a great time eating here. This place is clean with bright lights, fast employees that take orders, serve, and clean up really fast which is great. I love the fact that a person occasion walks around making sure we're ok and have everything we need. Tried Bonchon for the first time! Conveniently located in the shopping mall with plenty of parking. I ordered the 10 piece wings with soy garlic sauce. The wings were big and they added an extra drumstick in there. Unfortunately, the batter was too thick and the once you bite through the batter, the chicken is actually bland. Saw an ad for their new Sweet and Spicy Sauce, and I knew I just had to try it. The ad said "sweet red chili", and true enough it did taste like that. While the sauce wasn't bad, it wasn't really my favorite - it reminded me a lot of that Thai sweet chili sauce... so that really took the Korean feel out of these wings for me. Stopped by today to pick up some chicken. I ordered the Family meal with 12 wings, 6 drumsticks, 2 sides and plain fried rice. I also ordered the Kimchi Bacon fried rice. Everything was really good. For the wings I asked for half soy glazed and half spicy. They were so good. And, the spicy sauce is no joke it cleared my nostrils. Hahhaa. But, in a good way. The chicken flavor was perfectly fried and flavor and sauce was so tasty. The side of coleslaw and side of pickled radish along with the fried rice complimented the chicken. I prefer drumsticks over wings, so I like that they give you a choice. I usually get an order of their small drumsticks (5 pieces). Spicy Chicken Wings - HUGE! the meat and bones are big compared to your usual 20 piece wings. those chickens were full grown for sure, even the cartilage was calcified. - crispy skin - suprising considering it was 20 pieces stuffed in a box - sauce - this is where it is lacking. there was barely any sauce on the wings, it was a dried out drizzle at best. it tasted sweet and slightly spicy, but no where near the bum-burner that the San Leandro location serves up. San Leandro will drench their wings in the sauce, making it sooo good. unfortunately due to the lack of sauce these wings were not so flavorful but, who doesn't love fried chicken?
