Came here for lunch and ordered the Pork Belly Bao Buns. It comes in a set of three baos. The bao buns were pretty good with the pork belly, cucumbers, spicy mayo, coleslaw, and the katsu sauce. The pork belly wasn't dry at all.

Classic yummy korean chicken! Love the soy garlic and we got some parmesan fries on the side! Service was quick for us and staff was super friendly :) Honestly very reasonable price for what you get as well

Fried rice with bulgogi

Bulgogi is a food that I just get random cravings for. I was in the area because I had a go-to place nearby that closed down, so I took a little browse on our trusty Yelp app and found Bonchon across the parking lot. I got the bulgogi that comes with white rice ($22), and my husband got the fried rice with bulgogi ($18). Bummed I didn't get the japchae with bulgogi, but definitely a reason I need to return. The food had great flavors, and the texture of the beef was soft. The only downside I would say is the amount of food for the price is a little ehh. I understand beef tends to run higher in price, but when I go out to eat I get a little sad if I get a small portion of good food.

I unfortunately did not have a good experience eating here, which is a shame because the food was decent. I went to a Bonchon location in Socal only a few weeks ago and had an amazing experience with good food that I thought I would try out this spot. The food was not as good as the first time I tried it, with some of the wings being barely coated with any sauce (what it's known for). But the food is not the reason for a one star (I would say it's about three stars); I had an absolutely uncomfortable experience towards the end where my friend I was eating with (who paid) was berated by what seems to be the owner of this location (was an elderly lady-not even a person who we interacted with!). We were given the check and paid, but this must have not satisfied the lady because she confronted us in front of everyone and watched as the person who paid signed the receipt. You would think we tried to walk out without paying the way we were treated! To take the check to see if they were tipped before we were even done eating, to then being confronted and then being watched as we are signing the receipt, to then being questioned with our choice to leave a tip. Completely unprofessional and left a bad taste in my mouth. Ruined the entire experience and made me regret even choosing to come here. I will not be back. Bonchon needs to create uniformity across franchises because this was absolutely uncalled for. The other location we visited was a pleasant fast food experience and I think this location is unaware of what they are-which is a glorified Wingstop. Would not recommend Adding a picture of the chicken strips we were given versus the ones they advertise. It about sums up the dining experience

These people are super friendly and get our order ready within 15 minutes every time we come. They suggested to try the spicy flavor and split our drumstick order in half with the soy garlic flavor. The drumsticks are always yummy and freshly prepared.

The most delicious Korean fried chicken burger with Yangnyeom sauce! This is our all time favorite here along with their Bulgogi Bibimbap. The BEST! Portion sizes are not huge. Staff is always courteous and attentive. Ambience is chill and relaxed. Definitely coming back here for more!!

Tteokbokki

Haven't had bonchon in a while and decided to come by yesterday for lunch. The wings were tasty and crunchy, just like how I remembered! The yangyum was super flavorful! Sweet and has a kick to it. The soy garlic is a staple and was delicious! I find that the wings have more flavor but the drums are crunchier and have more meat to it. I like the chewiness of the rice cakes in the tteokbokki, paired with the ooey gooey cheese when you pull it. Overall I would come back for the soy garlic/yangyum wings again whenever I'm craving korean fried chicken again.

We were very hungry after the outlets and decided to check out this place next door, Bonchon. On first looks I wasn't very keen. This place feels and looks very clinical, low quality chain fast food like. The staff were all over the place and off the bat happen to forget one of our waters. They didn't even bring us waters when we sat and we had to request it along with the menus? Also felt like they were short staffed. When ordering, as a pescetarian I looked at the menu and there was basically nothing without meat. For those of dietary restrictions, there are no options. After scouring the menu a few times, finally settled upon the shrimp fried rice. It came as a very small portion, probably the size of my hand, for a whopping $17!? It was greasy and over seasoned. Barely any shrimp, don't how how they can even advertise it as a shrimp fried rice when I can count the number of shrimp on my hand. Bunches of rice clumped together and some undercooked. We will not be coming back, and will tell others not to either. UPDATE: Had a very upset stomach that night.

Seoul Sampler: Bulgogi Fries, Coleslaw, garlic soy wings, Potstickers, corn
Kaela N.

Bonchon for dinner and we got the sampler that was a good appetizer to share-- generous amount of bulgogi fries and soy garlic wings were the favorite of all the flavored wings. Bulgogi bimbimbap was good but not outstanding. I preferred the bulgogi fries. The half order of wings were perfectly coated and had a crunch. Although, the dry rub seasoning was not noticeable. Next time I will order all soy garlic. Plenty of seating indoors and no outdoor seating. Service was great.

Definitely one of my favorite places to go to when I'm craving some good fried chicken!

Medium mixed fried chicken. This is so good!

Very nostalgic. My nephew brought this to a family gathering on a whim and it became a classic in the home almost immediately.

Ask the Community - Bonchon Pleasanton

Is there spicy chicken the same as their sweet chili? Or they don't have the sweet chili anymore?

Are they open for indoor dining?

Yes they are.

What time do they close today?

They usually close at 7:30 when it was pick up only. But most restaurants opened their dining this week. You can call them. Sorry about that.

YakiniQ - This USMC man suggested this place for our dinner tonight

We have been enjoying YakiniQ regularly since about a year after they opened. It's definitely our…read morego-to for Korean BBQ. We usually just get the regular menu and are well satisfied with our many available meat choices. The staff members are always so courteous, friendly and attentive (shout out to Ethan! He's the best!), and they provide frequent grill changes as needed. They provide a table full of various banchan dishes (sides) to enjoy - the japchae is consistently delicious and our daughter enjoys their kimchi - and they will replenish those as often as you like. They also offer a generous serving of free ice cream for dessert (always scrumptious), although since my husband and I started eating carnivore at the beginning of this year, we give the banchan and ice cream a polite pass now. This is the perfect restaurant for carnivores because you can get all the meat you care to eat! The sliced brisket is great, and the miso pork belly is a big favorite of ours! We did try the premium menu one time and the wagyu was definitely delicious! There's very little we would change at all! Foodwise, we would love it if they offered pre-shelled garlic marinated shrimp - we like seafood, but we tend to avoid this because the one time we tried the shrimp it stuck to the grill and just involved too much messy peeling to deal with for what we ended up getting to eat. There are always plenty more items to choose from so this was a very minor thing. There's admittedly not much parking onsite to accommodate their volume of customers, as their lot is small, but that dates back to the original business (Kawa Sushi, which was our all-time favorite sushi restaurant before it sadly closed after COVID!) and can't be helped. There's plenty of on-street parking, and after eating an indulgent meal, a little walk is not a bad idea to level out our blood sugar! One change we would definitely appreciate is if the music volume was set slightly lower (it is always high decibel and tends to impede conversation if you're eating in the main front area) and we would love some variety in the music selection. We understand the custom in this type of restaurant is to play high energy music rather than anything more relaxing to eat by, but how about some great 70s, 80s, and 90s music? My guess is that a lot of the patrons that eat here regularly might enjoy that ambience much more (we definitely would)! One more thing I'd like to add - we have tried out several different AYCE Korean BBQs, both locally and in other places, and nothing has ever lived up to YakiniQ in food quality and in dining experience - we are always somewhat disappointed whenever we go somewhere else. For one thing, most places force you to choose from a limited menu framework that also includes many specific side dishes or non-BBQ items that we cannot eat, and they will only serve a limited amount at one time, so sometimes there is inconvenient waiting involved as we try to get the attention of the wait staff. This is not the case at YakiniQ - all ordering is done conveniently through scanning a QR code that opens their online menu app. You can get everything from food to drinks to additional tableware (and even request your bill), all by a quick tap of your screen. There are very few limited-consumption items, and the allowed amounts are generous enough to satisfy a healthy appetite. Also, some of these other restaurants have developed some rather elevated upcharges (or even a "membership") and/or complicated pricing structures which are both unreasonable and unnecessary. At YakiniQ, they keep the focus where it belongs, on good food and good service for a reasonable price per person. If you do decide to splash out on the premium menu, you will definitely get your money's worth, and if you stick to the regular menu, you will not be disappointed - either way, you will not leave hungry! (And for us getting the regular menu just means we can come back more often!) If you love Korean BBQ, YakiniQ is the place to be! If you've never tried it - start here. You'll never want to go anywhere else.

I hadn't been back in years until yesterday, when my usual spot was closed and my mother and I stopped by out of convenience. Unfortunately, the experience reminded me why I hadn't returned. The customer service was lacking -- we were never checked on during our meal and I had to repeatedly look for an employee to request a refill of a banchan and later, flag someone down when I was ready to pay. To make matters worse, I was surprised to find that the kimchi fried rice did not include any protein. Charging $20 for kimchi fried rice without any meat or protein is cruel and poor value for the price... I cannot stomach paying high prices for mediocre food and inattentive service.
