Just discovered my new favorite Korean restaurant tucked away in a back corner of a small shopping plaza which houses Paris Baguette and the Bagel Bakery on Regional street in Dublin. Ordered the hot stone (sizzler) beef bibimbap which was delicious and very filling, served with the usual accompaniment of sprouts and kimchi, etc. It was empty on a Friday afternoon when we sat down but had a steady influx of people and was busy by the time we left. It's a hidden gem down the street from the recently opened HMart which has a food court that was overflowing when I swung by this past weekend. read more

I've eaten here once or twice in the past when they first opened, and honestly, there are much better Korean food options in the Tri-Valley area. I hadn't been back in years until yesterday, when my usual spot was closed and my mother and I stopped by out of convenience. Unfortunately, the experience reminded me why I hadn't returned. The customer service was lacking -- we were never checked on during our meal and I had to repeatedly look for an employee to request a refill of a banchan and later, flag someone down when I was ready to pay. To make matters worse, I was surprised to find that the kimchi fried rice did not include any protein. Charging $20 for kimchi fried rice without any meat or protein is cruel and poor value for the price... I cannot stomach paying high prices for mediocre food and inattentive service. I will not make the same mistake of coming back again. read more

This is still one of my favorite Korean lunch spots. They are located in a plaza on Dublin Blvd. Their menu hasn't changed too much. There's still some appetizers, bibimbap, grilled items, ramens, and soft tofu stews. The service is pretty quick, and they serve you green tea as soon as you sit down. What we got: + Spicy bbq pork - these are tender slices of pork over a sizzling cast iron plate. The pork was delicious and wasn't very spicy. + Kimchi ramen - this is a big bowl of noodle soup in a spicy kimchi broth + Soft tofu stew - this came in a boiling cast iron bowl. The tofu is soft and silky and the stew was delicious. You also get all the usual banchan, which were good. This is the perfect lunch spot for a quick and delicious meal. read more

My parents had asked for hot water/tea and they said ok but later about 20 mins after another server came and said they actually don't serve hot tea or drinks anymore.. very odd. Otherwise they were very attentive and refilled all our banchan when asked. The food all came out super fast. Not very vegetarian friendly as My mom who is a vegetarian ordered the vegetable tofu soup but to our surprise they don't have vegetable based soup so it was just plain water based. The kimchi fried rice was good but super salty. The bbq chicken was good and my dad really enjoyed it. The seafood pancake was crispy and light! I have been here a few times but never felt comfortable. Something about the vibe of being there. We did not feel welcomed. It's been about a year since I've been there and made the decision I would not go back. This review is very late and it made me realize how this still makes me feel, as if it happened yesterday. My friend and I love Go Goong! The beef soft tofu soup is what we order everytime. We get medium spice, which is perfect for me. The restaurant is open for lunch and then again for dinner, so you have to check the times. They play Kpop music. There are plenty of tables. We have never been on the waiting list before lunch. We usually get there around 12:00. The banchan is always good. My friend likes the fish cakes, they don't always have it, but you can ask. I like the kimchi and the cucumbers. The Galbi is delicious! I ordered it to go for my husband and they packed it like a full on lunch with rice and banchan. It was so cute! I was just expecting galbi. We have had the seafood pancake, which is delicious and also the chicken wings are good and crispy. The rice tea or water is delicious. I'm not sure if you have to ask for it. This Korean eatery has been in my neighborhood for some years and I finally decide to give it a try. Took my friend here for lunch during a weekday and luckily it wasn't crowded The place is quite spacious and neat. We both really enjoyed the food: kimchi pancake, seafood ramen, and the short ribs. The short ribs were correctly cooked to medium and tasted great with some char flavor on it. The ramen was surprisingly good with tasty broth and firm noodles! Came here for lunch. First off their website says they close at 2pm. We got there at 12:55pm and were told that we had to order in 5 mins because it was last call (they don't take orders after 1pm). They turned six other customers away after we sat down because it was after 1pm. I was with my family which included two elderly Korean men and we were treated horribly by the waitress. My father mentioned how other restaurants gave a free side soup with bibimbap and the waitress said they don't do that here. He offered to pay for the soup and she just dismissed him, no acknowledgement!! They also asked for hot tea and she said because it was summer they only serve ice water...which is very weird since Korean restaurants usually serve "bori cha" (barely tea). As an annoyance, they start their tip suggestions at 20%. When my dad questioned her about it, she was very rude and disrespectful. Unfortunately, the food didn't redeem this restaurant. The meat was very dry in the bibimbap and my daughter's soon dubu jigae was bland. We will never come here again. read more

Wowwww this place is soo yummy I can't recommend enough. Came here with a couple friends so we were able to try a few menu items. We started with the soy garlic glazed wings which were really good. The crunch was crunching. The side dishes were also pretty good, nothing special but nothing wrong with that. My friend had the beef tofu stew and he said it warmed the soul 10/10. We shared the jaep chae, which I've never had before. It was delicious, I would definitely order it again on a warm day. The hot stone bibimbap with beef was also really good. Service-wise I appreciate the little extras they provide, like securely sealing the "to go" bag, and the cute little Ban Chan tray. What do they call that in NOLA? Ohhh Lagniappe! They're doing it right at Go Goong. If I could improve one thing, I wish they'd add an option for solo diners... almost like the Japanese Bento. I came here twice in a week ! The restaurant located in the corner so it's not hard to see but it's right next to a liquor store if I remember it correctly. Service is good and fast. It's spacious ! We ordered the whole chicken soup with ginseng which was so good for a raining day. The chicken was so tender and easy to fall apart but it's quite small than I expected. Cute little local Korean restaurant. I don't eat Korean food outside or AYCE from time to time to know if this is authentic or not but it was delicious regardless. I ordered the grilled pork belly, the bbq short ribs, and the spicy beef soup all to go, which took about less than 15 minutes. The meal came with side of rice, and the banchan side dishes. The pork belly and the bbq ribs were good, pretty standard if I have to say so. The soup was a bit underwhelming and needed more flavor and salt and the beef inside the soup wasn't as tender as I'd like. Overall I really enjoyed the pork belly and the short ribs!! It is a bit pricey at over $20 per entree but you can probably squeeze two meals out or this. I'd come again to support the little local business! I'd def get the ribs again. read more

Gave this place several tries here and there over the past few years to see if they have improved since 2017 in comparison to other Korean places around. Came again this past week and happy to say that the food is no longer excessively salty and the tofu soup actually has a decent amount of beef compared to other places. All of the side dishes were well balanced, although they do not offer as many sides as other places. Service was adequate with one server, and while they still had odd hours, closing Monday and Wednesday, will not be as hesitant to hit this place up when craving Korean food anymore. Pretty good Korean spot for lunch! Very clean and I really like the decor and style of the inside of the restaurant. My coworker and I got seated right away. Server was super friendly and she offered us hot tea. I ordered the bibimbap ($14) and my coworker ordered the spicy beef soup ($16). We also added the beef potstickers ($10) to share. Food was delicious and it was the perfect amount for lunch. Our meal came with 5 banchans (kimchi, fish cake kimchi, bean sprouts, broccoli and marinated black beans). I am always nervous about getting Korean food because it tends to be pretty pricey but I was pleasantly surprised when I looked at the menu! For the two of us, it was $50 with tax and tips. No more banchan refills as of Dec-2023. WTF. I have NEVER been to Korean restaurant where they refused to refill banchan, and there are no notices anywhere stating as such. The best part about Korean restaurants is that you can have free refills of banchan!! This really ruined the whole dining experience for me. Food was overall pretty good: 3.5/5 * Galbi Bibimbap - pretty tasty, decent portions $22 * Beef and Seafood Tofu Soup - good $17 Service: 2/5 * Luke warm and mediocre: we walked in when there were no line and 2 empty tables. I waved down a waitress, indicated 2pp, and we were instructed to put down our names on the "waiting list" ...??? Ok, seems unnecessary ; we did anyway and were seating promptly * We had to ask for everything: tea refills, extra bowls and ladle for sharing the soup (vs most K restaurants here they will bring over automatically). Nothing was proactively brought over and no one asked if we needed anything. We were pretty strategic in catching them at the right moments, so got our stuff pretty quickly (asked for bowls when waitress was setting down my soup, and asked for extra tea while waiter was cleaning the next table). But I can see they are not easy to flag down if you've missed that golden moment. * When asked for my 'normal' banchan refills, I was told that that's not possible. I was like what!??!?! And he said that they do not offer banchan refills. Period. No apology, no reason. Just no refills. Ok... this is a first. WTF * Overall service was very efficient; they seemed very focused in cranking you out. Service was not warm, not friendly, nor we saw any service staff smiling - kind of weird. They just brought out the food very mechanically, and you won't see them again (unless you flag them down). Then they will show up again just at the right time to ask you if you need a box and the check. Nice timing! We had a really great dinner at Go Goong last night. We were initially still trying to figure out where to eat but since Go Goong was right in the strip where we were, we decided to give it a try. Upon arrival, the restaurant was already full except for one table left that was available, so we were quite lucky. We received hot tea upon sitting down, which was nice. We ordered three dishes: - seafood pancake - soft tofu soup with seafood and beef - grilled pork belly with jalapeños and garlic The seafood pancake was delicious. I love how crispy and thick it was. It also had a good amount of seafood in it, which included shrimp, squid, and mussels. For the tofu soup, you can choose the spice level for it and we decided to get medium which was the perfect spice level for both of us to enjoy, as my bf can't handle too spicy. I personally would have gone one level up on the spice level since I could handle the heat. They also give you an egg on the side so you can crack the egg into the soup and have it cooked to your liking. The pork belly was good but did lack in a bit of flavour as it is non-marinated. We asked for some sesame oil mixed with salt and pepper for dipping and they were happy to provide that for us. They also provided us with several dishes of various banchans to enjoy with our meal. Overall, I would recommend coming here. I definitely would return to try out their fried chicken appetizers and also their other bbq meat dishes which looked amazing. read more

This is a short update fro this excellent Korean restaurant. We've been going here for many years and came even during the Pandemic for dining in. That was before my wife was diagnosed with Stage 4 Colon Cancer and began chemotherapy 2 years ago. Because the chemo results in her immune system being compromised, we no long risked dining in and they have no outdoor service. That only meant one thing - take out. We generally don't care for take out because really good food is always better when served fresh and immediately. But, she wanted some of her favorite Korean dishes - Jhap Chae, Korean Fried Chicken Wings and Bulgogi. So, that's what we did. The take out was excellent! I would have given them 5-stars except their prices have gone up again since our last visit. The 4 items (2X order of Jhap Chae) totaled $73 including tax but no tip. But of all the take out orders we've ever had from any commercial food place, this is the best packaged and organized by far! The food is just as good as it used to be! But their packaging of their take out orders is excellent as well! They line the soft cardboard cartons with aluminum foil on the food items that are hot and juicy. This keeps harmful chemicals like BPA, Phthalates, and PFAS from Leaching into the food. These chemicals are the most researched food contact chemicals as they are both widely used and they are of health concern. read more

Our favorite dishes from this place includes the seafood pancake - it's crispy, savory and packed with seafood. Their ginseng chicken soup is a comforting dish that warms your stomach. One thing to note is their closing time. While the official closing hour is 8:30, be aware that the last order is around 7:45/ 8. Go Goong is located in Almond Plaza along Regional St. in Dublin. It used to be a very busy location when Amakara was still around, but it has now gotten easier to find a parking space in the lot. Their Jap Chae is really exceptional - chewy thin glass noodles with a delicious garlicky flavor. It has the right amount of sesame oil that blends well with the shiitake mushrooms, spinach, red and green bell peppers, cucumbers, carrots, and small slices of beef. For their banchan (side dishes), we love the kimchi, fish cake, and garlic sticks the most. We often get kimchi to go. It carries a slightly sweeter flavor to balance out the sourness and also the saltiness from the fish sauce. I wish they won't use too much onion though. We usually get the Spicy Pork, Bulgogi, and/or BBQ Beef Ribs (Galbi) as our main dishes. They are always well-marinated and come out sizzling from the kitchen. The ribs have enough thickness that they come out medium to medium-well. They serve them on a bed of cabbage and onion. The Kimchi Fried Rice and Bibimbap are great, too. Go Goong has become our favorite Korean restaurant this side of the East Bay. Service has always been friendly and we are glad that this establishment has remained open during these difficult times. read more

Ok... good stuff first! The small dishes (banchan) was great compared to other Korean restaurants around here. Kimchi was on the sweet side. Restaurant was clean and the server was very nice. Having said that, both the quality and quantity of the main dishes could afford to be upgraded. The Galbitang soup tasted more like rice cake soup for some reason. Also, not enough meat in the soup. The spicy pork flavor was yummy but the meat to fat ratio was really off.. it was mostly pork fat covered in tasty sauce. The flavor was good though and it came out smoking which made it seem tastier. Overall, not bad.. but not great. I reeeeally wanted this place to be good!! Plenty of other good Korean restaurants in the area to spend your money. In addition, restaurant is usually 3/4 empty so it tells you how people feel about this restaurant. They must pay Google for it to be 4.1 stars since it's definitely not. You see Yelp has them as 3 star and I think they should be 2 star. Save yourself the aggravation. read more
