So I ordered through UberEats and the food was fantastic. I got the small chicken combo where they give you wings and drums with two different sauces. I think they were soy garlic and garlic sauce. Not busy on a Saturday night during the summer but they do take reservations. Food - great fried rice and must pair with a combo of spicy and soy garlic wings. Good selection of drinks and cocktails and beer to wash up the food. Service was fast and can't wait to try other options in the menu. The seasoned fries had delicious flavor despite being a little soggy by the time I got home (but that's nothing to blame the restaurant for, and they were still really yummy.) I don't consider myself a wimp for spicy food, and I thought their spicy sauce is HOT! I needed tissues nearby so I could wipe my nose. Talk about sinus cleaner! This was the worst experience I've had in New Haven. We waited over an hour for food, had our server "check on our ticket" THREE TIMES only to tell us it was "lost." Sadly, I fell for all of the hype of this restaurant. The chicken was at best okay, the spicy was kicking like karate think it bruised my tongue. Then the sweet crunch tasted like it was slightly drizzled in honey and some were forgotten like bees died before they could harvest the rest of their honey. Not to mention the season fries were priced on the menu at 3.50 but I was charged 6.50 for fries that tasted like cheddar Pringles without the crunch, if that's what I really wanted I would've dipped some Pringle's in Milk because my mouth is still on fire from the spicy wings. I am definitely interested is coming back to check the night time vibe either at the bar with the tv's and try some drinks or just to sit for dinner. The menu has some really nice items. Bonchon never disappoints food-wise, I recommend the Bibimbap. It's spicy that will make you cry in a good way! I also ALWAYS have amazing service. Unfortunately Sunday morning this was not the case. My food was great and my server was awesome but there seemed to be an issue between the workers to where it was visibly bothering my server. (Even though she did indeed play it off.) The male bartender was being incredibly rude to the server and they actually got into two arguments while I was there. I have never seen the man before , I am a regular and usually get the girl as my server. I forget her name but she's been there for a while now. I am deeply disturbed by the lack of rectitude I witnessed from the male bartender. I hope management will correct this behavior as it is unacceptable. Everyone sometimes gets a bad egg as I do understand I always work in the industry but I have not been able to stop thinking about this since I left.... to my server you were amazing and hope you keep being amazing! read more

The server lied to me that my card didn't go through when she accidentally charged a wrong amount of money. The manager didn't say sorry but he instead acts without manner. Everything you've ever heard about Korean fried chicken is 100% true and then some! It was my first time trying Korean food but this place set the bar exceptionally high. We ordered pork buns and fried shrimp shumai which were great appetizers. Perfect sizes for sharing. We then ordered a small portion of the chicken strips which brought 10 big pieces in the soy garlic sauce and it became my all time favorite place for wings. For years, I've always traveled to wings over locations but this place blows them out of the water. We also were recommended to try the bibimbap and let me tell you it was surprisingly tasty. I liked that I controlled the level of spicy by adding as much or as little of the hot sauce as I wanted. Had they had dessert I would review those too but they haven't gotten to that phase yet. My entire bill came in just under $50 so you get a lot for your money. Definitely recommend this place and look forward to my weekend drive for some more chicken wings read more

At the end we were too tired to notice the mistake, so we ended up overpaying... I've been here twice so far. The staff is very friendly and seems excited to work in a new popular New Haven spot. I appreciate how late they're open on the weekends for a late night spot. The food is delicious - chicken strips, tacos, octopus balls, etc. It's nice that they have the popular games on the bar TVs. One thing that's important to me is keeping a patron's water glass full - especially in a place that has salty foods. I think this is one thing that the staff could do a better job with. read more

The food here was fresh and tasty. The flavors were authentic and interesting. The service was all right, but I understand they're just opened and still figuring things out. The didn't have any hot tea which I though was strange for an Asian restaurant. The lack of stars is for the seriously strange atmosphere. There were all these people hanging out in the dining room that worked there? Or where friends with people that worked there? They weren't eating or drinking and were very load and disruptive. We were the only actual patrons there but these other people kept coming and going throughout our meal yelling and being generally obnoxious. Since I moved to CT, I'd been waiting for Korean soy garlic chicken place, like Bon chon, Kyo chon, or Mad for chicken. So when I found out this place is finally opened, I was extremely excited. I drove 40min, just to eat this. However, sadly I had the worst Korean chicken ever. The chickens are a lot more saltier than the original. And the meat was so dry, I felt like I am eating a jerky. Definitely not fresh ingredients. Plus I could tell they didn't fry them in the right temperature, it was so greasy. Normally Bon chon is using special methods to fry it, so the grease could falls off while cooking. I had two little wings and I was done. Normally I eat half of medium size. As a Korean, I've had this kind of chicken since I was kid. They are mostly good or at least decent, because most of the places are using the same well-made recipe . But here, they just mess up the recipe. On top of that, not very nice service either...we were sitting at the bar. The server kind of loudly smashed our plate on table and put far away from us, then just wanted us to bring the plate over to eat. It's sad because this place has only been 2 weeks and already lost the control on the quality of food and service. Ive tried the Bulgogi, Japchae, wings, drums, and potstickers. I've loved everything, until I got to the octopus Takoyoki. There was a pungent fishy taste to them. Which I think was due to the bonito flakes that were sprinkled on top. If I were ever to order the takoyaki again I would order without. read more

I think I've been here enough, to try almost all of the entree dishes. They have the best wings, and the Korean noodles are my favorite. The seasoned fries are absolutely amazing. Very clean restaurant, a nice atmosphere to go out with friends. They have a bar area and tv screens on the wall. Sometimes it's hard to find parking but that's new haven!
