Tried this place out with a friend! Prices were extremely reasonable and service was attentive (they noticed how fast both of us kept downing our water cups. thank you) -Shrimp broccoli: 5/5 So tasty! I only wish that it came with more shrimp. Would try the beef broccoli next time and see how big the portion is. My friend said that he liked the Tom Yum Chicken Noodle soup, and he doesn't always like it depending on which restaurant makes it, sooo you should try it too if you like Tom Yum! Restaurant was very spacious with lots of tables. 10/10 would come again!

I stopped in on an early Friday night about a month ago. All of the reviews were right. Inexpensive prices here. Service was relatively fast. Nice hospitable staff. Explained some of the items to me that I didn't know about. Very patient. Disclaimer:It was very COLD in here. Small place. Filed up quickly. Food tasted good. I especially liked the Chinese broccoli. Very tasty. All street parking. No parking lot. Looking forward to coming back soon.

Their spring rolls were crispy and tasty and came with a sweet dipping sauce. Soy chicken is awesome! They had a cut up slow cooked soy chicken with bones and skin. The garlic broccoli chicken was awesome. The Vietnamese soup was also great (multiple meals here). Great place. Highly recommend. They even included sauces I asked for and some I didn't including a homemade hot sauce. All great.

Made a Yelp account just to give them 5 stars. Everything you'd want from a restaurant. Well-priced and a good value. Staff is very friendly and helpful. I've been twice and both times I've had a delicious meal and the atmosphere has been good.

Great customer service. Kind workers. I was satisfied with my order of pork buns, chow fun and peach boba.

I was here last night and was recommended to try their beef drunken noodles, but I was skeptical given the restaurant is not Thai and I am a huge drunken noodle queen/snob. However, I had not had drunken noodle in forever so I decided to try it out and oh boy, I was pleasantly surprised! The dish was not too spicy, but that's ok b/c I added more sate chili sauce on the plate. Their version was less saucy, but the flavors were on point. I have to give 5/5 for both the dish, affordable price, and customer service (we did have a nice waitress refilling our water cups). Yale kids are lucky to have this place on their block!

Weird nasty old chicken in the Indonesian Fried Rice. I had a few bites and could not eat it anymore.

Service stayed fast, composed, and actually attentive the entire night. No chaos and no drop off. The room hits that chic, slightly nightlife energy without losing the intimacy. It has a very upscale feel while still feeling elevated without being forced. The music is also a nice touch. It's very club like, modern and contemporary, and matches the atmosphere perfectly. Now the food. This is where they separate themselves. The calamari is easily one of the best I've had anywhere. Light, crisp batter, perfectly cooked, never rubbery, with that clean, tender bite that most places miss. I went with the jumbo shrimp Massaman curry for my main. The shrimp were legitimately jumbo, and the curry had depth. Rich, layered, and balanced, not just sweet and heavy like you get at a lot of spots. I asked for extra spice and they actually respected it. As someone who's Lao, I'm pretty critical of Northern Thai and Lao profiles. This is one of the few places locally that understands how to build flavor without it falling flat. There's intention behind the food. They also made the birthday feel like a moment. The sparkler with the cake was a great touch. And while splitting checks for a group this size is never easy, they handled a good majority of them without it turning into a headache, which honestly says a lot. Bottom line this isn't just good for the area it's just good period. We'll be back.

The food is EXCELLENT and the manager- Rippon was very nice and helpful and listened to our feedback, so that was appreciated.

Let it Be is a chic, cozy little hole in the wall spot on Dixwell which although you can easily miss, you won't want to because it's a legend of a Thai restaurant. AMBIANCE - 8/10 When you walk inside, you're greeted by a familiar friendly smile (? one of the owners) before being seated amongst brightly colorful interior decor. They play relaxing Thai classics and sometimes switch it up with familiar and vibey pop songs. It's a small space, but is never overcrowded, and there's conveniently plenty of parking in the back. FOOD - 9/10 The food here is incredible. I've tried multiple Thai places in and around the New Haven/Hamden area and Let it Be has got them all beat. Not only are the flavors authentic and high quality, but prices are fair and the dishes are well-portioned. Best of all, they're made with so much heart. Every bite has felt like a journey back home to South East Asia. SERVICE - 9/10 The service here has been phenomenal. Our friendly server is welcoming, prompt, and responsive to our needs. When a dish we asked for wasn't available, he took the time to find similar dishes for us. He also takes the time to make friendly conversation and share with us the history of some of the special dishes. Visits here always just feel like a pitstop at a friendly neighbor's. The only thing is that it can take a bit of time for the food to come out, which is natural as the dishes are likely made to order. OVERALL - 9/10 From the Thai staples (pad thai, red and green curries) to the more avant garde (larb kai but in a bánh mì / hoagie style sandwich?! woah!), this place does it all the right way. If you couldn't tell by now, this is my absolute favorite Thai place and I could not recommend it enough. Ally's Recs: Pad Thai (8/10) - cannot go wrong with a classic Pad See Ewe (9/10) - another classic! tastes great with a squeeze of lime Let it Be Thai Curry (9/10) - delicious house curry; they combo the curries well to create a creamy sweet and savory mixture that always leaves you wanting more Thai Tea (8/10) - if you're down for a treat, the condensed milk hits every time! Longan Juice / Tea (7/10) - refreshing and comes with a bunch of juicy longans on top. such a unique offering!

Hopefully they're doing a big takeout business because we were the only ones inside for dinner. Granted it was 8:30pm, but they are open until midnight. They were accommodating by turning the heat up on this chilly night. They also put on current Thai music for us after we asked about the American music being played. They offered my wife a syrupy lychee drink on the house to take care of the extra heat that she wasn't expecting. They put a bit of a different spin on their version of some popular dishes so don't be mad if it's not what you get at other Thai restaurants. Check out our pics. It was all excellent!

Admittedly I've never tried their Thai curries so I can't comment. My first trip here was to try the Pho. It was good, but it was on subsequent trips that I explored their Yums. Today I had Nam Khou which was crunchy rice, scallions, cilantro, and Laos sausage pieces served with romaine lettuce leaves on the side of the plate. I took that to mean I should scoop some of the dish into each leaf and it was delightful. While it is supposed to be two peppers hot, according to the menu, it was not but it was very flavorful nonetheless. You can always scoop some black chilli oil on top as they graciously keep condiments at each table. I also tried the summer rolls again. Now my favourite summer rolls used to be the ones in West Hartford with crispy pork and shrimp in them. However, I will say just the plain shrimp ones were wonderful. One nice touches they provide a little espresso spoon in the peanut sauce so you can scoop it's on top of each bite without having to dip and have it fall apart. The CREW was kind of quiet today but I came in mid afternoon so they were catching up on other stuff. However, the service was still great. What was not good was the notable discrepancy in price on the website versus the actual prices. So, this review is a PSA because Thai Spice really needs to rectify this immediately and get all of its sites updated. At the time of our order two weeks ago (and at the time that I am writing this review), the website https://thaispiceauthentic.com/ and the PDF menu hyperlink on that website (and the Order Now hyperlinks on the site) all reflect outdated prices. If you access the business via the https://www.yumdthaicuisine.com/ site (immediately confusing because this does not appear to be the current restaurant name, and the sign outside the restaurant says Thai Spice) or if you Google the restaurant and access the Toast site to order, you will get the current, actual prices. But these are way too many variables for a customer to reasonably navigate or to know what is accurate. We ordered the following: - Thai Sampler - We expected to pay $14.96/99 (two prices, one on the PDF and one via the Order Now link); the actual current price is an astounding $22.50 ($15 was a good deal, we thought; $22.50 is not--not for what you get) - Chicken Pad Thai - We expected to pay $13.96/99; the actual price is $14.95 - Yellow Curry - $13.96/99; actual price, $14.95 - Sticky Rice - $3.00; actual price, $4.00 A difference of over $10.
