    Sampler appetizer!
    Jenni F.

Really enjoyed this place. It's a small, clean dining room with a bustling take out business. The menu is loaded with choices! We got the appetizer sampler plate; I particularly enjoyed the chicken and sauces. I had the duck noodle soup which was OUTSTANDING! The price for a glass of wine is $8...you can't beat that! Our server was both stunning and lovely. We will definitely go back.

Decent thai food In East Rock. I often order when in the office because I work very close by and can easily drive over and get back with time to eat on my 30 minute lunch break. They have easy online ordering via Clover and food is always ready within 15-20 minutes. Is it the best thai food I've had? No, but it's convenient, consistent and satisfies my craving for thai food.

We LOVE Rice Pot. That have had consistently good food and service. That place is small, but we've always been able to get seating. One of my favorite things is roti Canai with incredible curry sauce. They yellow curry is another one of my favorite dishes. Personally I don't think you can go wrong. This is a destination at the end of State St you will want to head to!

I was traveling back from Boston and one of my friends recommended this spot as she's been going here for years. After this visit, I can see why. It's a somewhat small spot, but we got there during an off peak time, so it wasn't busy. There's also a side parking lot for the restaurant which was convenient. We started off with the Thai Sampler. This was a good option for 3 of us since we were indecisive! It came with a good set of sauces. I ordered the Tom Yum Goong and the Pik Prow Duck. These were both delicious! The Pik Prow Duck was my favorite, and it's more on the savory side. The Tom yum Goong was also delicious! I'd come back for both of these dishes alone had I not lived too far. My friends also got curry dishes, and they were pleased as well. The service was great, prompt, and friendly. Highly recommend!!

Delightful and delicious little restaurant! Fresh spring rolls, sizzling tofu, and drunken noodles.... Oh my good!! Flavorful without being too spicy. Just right. Warm and friendly service with soft music in the background. We can't wait to come again. Enjoy!

11.19.21 I unfortunately don't come here often enough. I've been coming here for a couple of years now. I and anyone I've been here with have always had great experiences and great food. One of my favorite dishes here is their Lard Na. It is absolutely amazing. Delicious. I absolutely love the gravy with the wider noodles. Any and all of the staff have always been so accommodating and gracious. They also make sure to ask for your level of spiciness and/or heat that you desire or don't desire. They accommodate to your specifications of heat in some of the dishes. They let you byob with a modest cork fee which is pleasantly reasonable and not expensive at all. Their food prices are also reasonable. It's a smaller restaurant on the cozy side. They have a couple of tables outside on the sidewalk for the warmer months. The restaurant is clean. There is street parking. But, they also have a small private parking lot alongside the restaurant which many aren't aware of. Another food favorite here is the chicken Larb mild spicy. I was here a couple of months ago with some special Yelp friends actually, and they turned me onto this next option that I'll mention. I recently had their Tom Kar Gai soup which i have become a fan of here. We got a pot of it and shared it amongst us which was great. We had more than enough to go around. Thanks D & P. It was a great time. A hidden jewel on the outskirts off of the main drag within New Haven. It's a quieter scene here down on State Street. Good spot for date night.

Just went in to dine in for the first time, and I'm in love with this place. We got the roti canai (not pictured bc we dug in before we even thought about taking one). Everything was great as always

Ordered delivery up after I saw someone else's duck salad. OMG soooo good. You can skip the rice and have a delicious healthy low carb explosion of flavors and textures between the warm crispy duck and the cool salad. I INHALED this salad. It took a lot of restraint to pause for a sec to take a picture. I'd be there every week if I lived closer. Run dont walk to order this dish at the Rice Pot.

Rice Pot on the small corner on State street where I found a hidden gem, my favorite Thai food in New Haven. The atmosphere was so cozy, especially on a snowy night. After talking with a kind and friendly waitress who told us that they just renovated the restaurant, we decided to share dishes by closing ours eyes and picking 2 of so many dishes on the menu because they all look so delicious. Just kidding!!! I'm a big fan of duck, so I ordered duck curry and my friend got cashew nut with chicken. The presentation looked so amazing and the taste was unbelievable. It was good combination of sweet, savory and touch of Thai herb favor that I couldn't explain what was it in both dishes. We ended our gal'night with sweet mango sticky rice, as a result I barely walk to a car.

When I moved to New Haven, I asked friends where their favorite Thai food was, and Rice Pot comes up on most people's list. Thus, I was excited to check it out! I've been very happy with their green curry. It's got a little bit of heat plus some great textures, such as the bamboo shoots and string beans. The chicken larb, a Laotian specialty, is also a go-to. If you don't like your food hot, though, be sure to mention you want it less hot. Rice Pot has a nice, neighborhood Thai place feel. They can get busy, but with a little bit of patience, you'll be served an awesome dish!

Proper Thai food, quite decent flavor. We ordered Pad Thai with shrimp, Pad see ew with shrimp and pineapple fried rice. The portion and flavors are great! The Tom yom soup is yummy too. Except the chicken satay a bit dry the overall experience is good. Above the average!

Shhh, don't tell anyone!…read more But also tell everyone you know! Let it Be is a chic, cozy little hole in the wall spot on Dixwell which although you can easily miss, you won't want to because it's a legend of a Thai restaurant. AMBIANCE - 8/10 When you walk inside, you're greeted by a familiar friendly smile (? one of the owners) before being seated amongst brightly colorful interior decor. They play relaxing Thai classics and sometimes switch it up with familiar and vibey pop songs. It's a small space, but is never overcrowded, and there's conveniently plenty of parking in the back. FOOD - 9/10 The food here is incredible. I've tried multiple Thai places in and around the New Haven/Hamden area and Let it Be has got them all beat. Not only are the flavors authentic and high quality, but prices are fair and the dishes are well-portioned. Best of all, they're made with so much heart. Every bite has felt like a journey back home to South East Asia. SERVICE - 9/10 The service here has been phenomenal. Our friendly server is welcoming, prompt, and responsive to our needs. When a dish we asked for wasn't available, he took the time to find similar dishes for us. He also takes the time to make friendly conversation and share with us the history of some of the special dishes. Visits here always just feel like a pitstop at a friendly neighbor's. The only thing is that it can take a bit of time for the food to come out, which is natural as the dishes are likely made to order. OVERALL - 9/10 From the Thai staples (pad thai, red and green curries) to the more avant garde (larb kai but in a bánh mì / hoagie style sandwich?! woah!), this place does it all the right way. If you couldn't tell by now, this is my absolute favorite Thai place and I could not recommend it enough. Ally's Recs: Pad Thai (8/10) - cannot go wrong with a classic Pad See Ewe (9/10) - another classic! tastes great with a squeeze of lime Let it Be Thai Curry (9/10) - delicious house curry; they combo the curries well to create a creamy sweet and savory mixture that always leaves you wanting more Thai Tea (8/10) - if you're down for a treat, the condensed milk hits every time! Longan Juice / Tea (7/10) - refreshing and comes with a bunch of juicy longans on top. such a unique offering!

Hopefully they're doing a big takeout business because we were the only ones inside for dinner. Granted it was 8:30pm, but they are open until midnight. They were accommodating by turning the heat up on this chilly night. They also put on current Thai music for us after we asked about the American music being played. They offered my wife a syrupy lychee drink on the house to take care of the extra heat that she wasn't expecting. They put a bit of a different spin on their version of some popular dishes so don't be mad if it's not what you get at other Thai restaurants. Check out our pics. It was all excellent!

Admittedly I've never tried their Thai curries so I can't comment. My first trip here was to try the Pho. It was good, but it was on subsequent trips that I explored their Yums. Today I had Nam Khou which was crunchy rice, scallions, cilantro, and Laos sausage pieces served with romaine lettuce leaves on the side of the plate. I took that to mean I should scoop some of the dish into each leaf and it was delightful. While it is supposed to be two peppers hot, according to the menu, it was not but it was very flavorful nonetheless. You can always scoop some black chilli oil on top as they graciously keep condiments at each table. I also tried the summer rolls again. Now my favourite summer rolls used to be the ones in West Hartford with crispy pork and shrimp in them. However, I will say just the plain shrimp ones were wonderful. One nice touches they provide a little espresso spoon in the peanut sauce so you can scoop it's on top of each bite without having to dip and have it fall apart. What was not good was the notable discrepancy in price on the website versus the actual prices. So, this review is a PSA because Thai Spice really needs to rectify this immediately and get all of its sites updated. At the time of our order two weeks ago (and at the time that I am writing this review), the website https://thaispiceauthentic.com/ and the PDF menu hyperlink on that website (and the Order Now hyperlinks on the site) all reflect outdated prices. If you access the business via the https://www.yumdthaicuisine.com/ site (immediately confusing because this does not appear to be the current restaurant name, and the sign outside the restaurant says Thai Spice) or if you Google the restaurant and access the Toast site to order, you will get the current, actual prices. But these are way too many variables for a customer to reasonably navigate or to know what is accurate. We ordered the following: - Thai Sampler - We expected to pay $14.96/99 (two prices, one on the PDF and one via the Order Now link); the actual current price is an astounding $22.50 ($15 was a good deal, we thought; $22.50 is not--not for what you get) - Chicken Pad Thai - We expected to pay $13.96/99; the actual price is $14.95 - Yellow Curry - $13.96/99; actual price, $14.95 - Sticky Rice - $3.00; actual price, $4.00 A difference of over $10.
