Great little spot ran by the most adorable brother and sister. The avocado wontons are to die for and the orange chicken is top tier. Not to be compared to Chinese food orange chicken. The one at Sri Thai is fresh and not covered in a sweet sticky sauce. read more

Omg I legit feel bad because this has great reviews yet the food was horrible. Shrimp fried rice was soggy and had a total of 3 shrimp in the whole dish. Placeholder review: superb. Dinner for four plus 2 apps was $70; very, very reasonable in that it could have served 6-8. The location is unassuming to say the least. Tucked, hidden, secluded, call it what you want, into a strip center on the upslope of a decent-sized road (I'm not a local)- it felt a bit out of place. It added to the surprise and the feeling of novelty. The kra ka prow with pork was simple, ample, and spicy (I was pleasantly surprised with the heat despite only having two asterisks on the menu). Pork dumplings had a wonderful texture, taste was on par with what I'd expected, and the sauce with ponzu wasn't overpowering. The woman behind the counter (we took it to go) was delightful. She went so far as to call us when the food was ready; luck for us we had just pulled into the shopping center. Service is top marks- 5 stars all the way around (but based only on our to-go order; I'd expect nothing less than the same if it was done in because of the small, "mom-and-pop intimate" nature). Highly recommended. Four stars with me is very impressive (5 typically reserved for life-alteringly expectation-smashing cuisine, from which this isn't far...if we had eaten at the restaurant on a cold winter night when I hadn't had Thai for 3 months, then Sri Thai would check that box). Making my way through the SRI Thai menu and I still haven't picked a favorite, because It's All Good!!! My original quest was to find great local chicken wings and I happened to stumble across this place. Sometimes they need a lil extra pinch of salt but they were great. They are crispy and stay crispy through takeout and delivery. My other staple is the papaya salad. Also amazing! It's refreshing with a great dressing and fills my veggies quota. Another fave is the Vegetarian Tempura which is deep fried vegetables, where can u go wrong? I could go through the entire menu but that would take too long. I haven't tried any of the stir fried noodles because that's not really my thing. The only thing I ever didn't like was one of the soups and that was just a matter of personal taste, not because it wasn't good. Love the fried rice, Love the Salads, Love the Desserts! And don't forget the Thai Iced Tea which is not everyone's cup of tea, but I love it! And the "create your own meat" is what I'm working through right now. So basically the flavors, veggies, and add-ins are set and you choose which meat to add in whether its chicken, beef, pork, shrimp, tofu, and more.... I Love the spicy ones like Wild Boar Basil, and my latest was the Young Ginger! Delish!!! Customer service is always on point! They make you feel welcomed and are grateful for you business. There is seating inside, but it never seems full. There is also easy online ordering which is what I usually do. One day I might venture off my routine and dine-in. The latest thing here is the addition of the lunch specials. They are around the same price as the regular menu items, but different. So regular item is a large entree accompanied by white rice. It's enough for two people or two meals. The lunch is a more like a complete meal. It has a smaller entree with rice and also includes 2 spring rolls and a side salad. I like it!!! The prices are great and as long as I can afford it, I will continue to return. This may be the first restaurant where I will literally have eaten everything on the menu! YES. I love places like this. Small, unassuming, and in a nondescript strip mall with "15 minute parking" signs out front. Whatever. The food is wonderful. We had their Penang Curry lunch special, and the Thai Fried Rice. The flavors are complex and tasty--the squid perfectly cooked, tons of cilantro in the rice (the way I like it), the portions are substantial, and the service was superb. The service was outstanding at this cute, local restaurant but the food left something to be desired. We got take out, pineapple fried rice w chicken, and pad see ew with shrimp. The pineapple rice was okay, but felt like it was missing a flavor that I can't put my finger on. I also wish it had a few cashews or something for a crunch in a soft meal. Food is incredible and staff are so friendly! I tried for lunch one day and had the fresh spring rolls (huge) and the shumai dumplings. This small restaurant is my go to stop for dinner after my train ride home from NYC. Rachanee and Paul know how to provide great service and food. The crispy spring rolls come out hot and my only complaint is not ordering more as they disappeared quite quickly to my belly. The coconut chicken soup was good, if you don't like lemongrass or coconut flavor stay away, but for those that like it as myself- it's a great comfort soup while being light. I also get the Thai tea, if you like sweet and creamy this is your sign to try this drink. The spring rolls have a super nice crunch and delicious filling. The orange chicken is always phenomenal. It has onion, pineapple and other veggies alongside the chicken and it is just to die for (in my opinion, of course). I ordered take out from Sri Thai and got the drunken noodles and the pad thai. The drunken noodles was actually a bit spicy, which I appreciated. The egg in the drunken noodles was scrambled and added to the top of the noodles (I would've preferred it cut into smaller pieces and incorporated throughout), and there wasn't much chicken in the pad thai. Absolutely delicious! We got lunch today, I got the papaya salad and a side of sticky rice. The salad had a respectable amount of heat to it and was incredibly fresh. Terrific local Thai place stuffed in a strip mall across the street from the police station in West Haven. You could easily drive right by, but you'd be missing out! Friendly brother and sister run this place and the care they put into the dishes and service is obvious. We started with the thai dumplings, 5 big pork shumai-type dumplings that were bursting with filling and flavor. The we went for the shrimp pad thai, chicken with garlic sauce and the house special seafood fried rice. Everything absolutely delicious. The 2 of us ate to our fill and have leftovers of each dish to bring home. The seafood in the fried rice was especially noteworthy, with shrimp, mussels, clams, squid and scallops with a spicy sauce, but not too spicy to obscure the flavor.
