Definitely the best bang for your buck when it comes to quality and portion size of the meal for thai in CT. I really enjoyed the drunken noodles I recommend getting them with pork! The service was quick and attentive to the table, seemingly short staffed but the wait wasn't too long. Will come back! Loved the Christmas decor!

I wish I could give places extra stars for exceeding my expectations! A friend and I were out and about when she said I'm craving pho. So using yelp I searched up nearby spots in Shelton and decided, I drive by here all the time, might as well try it out! There's plenty of parking in their lot which is always one of my biggest concerns when going to a restaurant. We were immediately greeted with a smiling face upon entering and were seated far enough where we felt our conversations would be private. The restaurant was decorated with Christmas decorations and was extremely clean and well taken care of! They have a decent size menu where it's hard to just pick one thing out. They offer lunch items as well as dinner entrees, apps, phos, ramens and even bubble teas! Thai tea is always my pick when going out and it was perfectly refreshing and not too sweet. I was intrigued with so many things but ended up ordering the crispy tofu and the ba mi Ped. The tofu was a perfect crisp and had this delicious Thai peanut sauce for dipping. I've never had Ba Mi Ped before, but the roasted duck in the photo on the menu told me I had to try it. I wish I knew where this was my whole life. The broth was slightly sweet and flavorful where you wanted it in every bite of the noodles. The duck was so juicy and tender, it practically melted in my mouth. If I wasn't so full, I was ready to order another round of noodles to go with the rest of my broth. It's going to be hard to return because as much as I'd like to order something new, I'm going to be thinking about the ba mi Ped. We of course had to finish off the lunch with a dessert and chose the mango sticky rice. It was the perfect amount of sweetness. The rice was cooked perfectly and the mango was at its peak ripeness! Overall an amazing experience and not to mention our food came out super quick. Shout out to the kitchen staff for making such an amazing meal. We're looking forward to returning ASAP!

Today Arrived @ 1:40 for lunch. Planned to have a leisurely lunch enjoying the wine we brought BYOB. Poured wine and then informed by nice waitress Tanya that we would have to be finished and leave @ 2:30 beause they close til dinner time. I have never heard of that before! We felt forced to order and started eating. My Pad Wootsen w pork , rice noodles, & fresh vegs came & the pork was so tough I couldn't eat the meat. The rest was delicious. It was awful to have a time limit & unheard of. I took most of it home and left all of the tough pork on the plate. Lesson learned: Speak up & get a substitute protein! I will return. Food is good as is service.

Been here many times. Finally doing a review. This place deserves more than 5 stars. It is, by far, the best Thai food in the area. Food: Superb, excellent, delicious! The food comes out quickly and always piping hot! Seriously, like steaming hot, which is rare for many restaurants. I go to many restaurants and the food is always just "warm" not really "hot". The ingredients are fresh! Presentation is top notch! For drinks, it's BYOB (I prefer). Service: Always friendly and attentive! No complaints. Ambiance: Not bad. Inviting for dine in. It's way better than the prior Thai restaurant at this location. Decor is modern, music was at a nice volume, lighting is decent, though I personally prefer if it were dimmer or softer.

Local Thai and people come from neighboring towns to go here. Always empty inside and we normally just get take out since we live 2 min away. Food is always so good, great authentic Thai in shelton who would have ever thought!

Very good food with perfect portions! Went for dinner and both of us thought the food was top notch! Don't be confused - these are not the same owners from the previous Thai place that was in this location (the food there was subpar). Much recommended and will be back !

And after seeing how great the food was, I was upset to see it was very quiet inside. We were the first customers around 6:00pm on a Wednesday. That may be the reason, but even so, hopefully this review convinces people to try this place out. This is hands down the best Thai food I've had in a long time. Everything was so fresh and delicious. My compliments to the chefs in the back. Next time I'll stay a little longer to get their story, but they clearly know what they're doing. The winners for us were the Tom Kha and the chicken pad tai. Seriously, I finally found the best Tom Kha around. I would live off that soup if I could. The pad tai was so incredibly fresh and flavorful. The gyoza was great but next time we'll get it pan seared instead of steamed. My boyfriend got the kimchi rice. He said the flavor was great, a little kick to it; exactly what he'd expect from kimchi rice. I know the area/location may be disheartening but please do yourself a favor and try this place. Once you step inside, it's a whole different world. You would never guess something as good as thing is in downtown Shelton. Service was great too! Wish I could remember our servers name, but he was very kind and quick with our drinks too! Also wanted to mention that the pricing was great too! A lot of places overcharge but they charge a fair price for excellent food. Please do yourself a favor and try this place out. You won't regret it!

My partner and I went in person for the first time recently, and while we thought the exterior + dining room were unassuming/basic, the food continues to be phenomenal! We ordered the tom yum soup, som tum, pla sam rod with salmon and the duck choo chee. The tom yum soup was one of the best I've had - tangy, spicy and not overly sweet. The som tum unfortunately was sweeter and had less fish sauce and garlic than I would've liked, but the veggies and papaya were super fresh. The salmon pla sam rod and duck choo chee were both fantastic! The pla sam rod sauce was a great balance of sweet, savory, and spicy. The salmon and basil were fried perfectly and held up well to the sauce. The duck was also fried perfectly and stayed crispy despite the red curry + coconut milk that coated it. The veggies were also very fresh and kept the dish light. We loved the flavors and textures of the duck choo chee - the red curry was very aromatic and lemongrassy, and the coconut milk added some creaminess. So far, I have only been impressed by the quality of the food and I can't wait to try the rest of the menu!!

What was not good was the notable discrepancy in price on the website versus the actual prices. So, this review is a PSA because Thai Spice really needs to rectify this immediately and get all of its sites updated. At the time of our order two weeks ago (and at the time that I am writing this review), the website https://thaispiceauthentic.com/ and the PDF menu hyperlink on that website (and the Order Now hyperlinks on the site) all reflect outdated prices. If you access the business via the https://www.yumdthaicuisine.com/ site (immediately confusing because this does not appear to be the current restaurant name, and the sign outside the restaurant says Thai Spice) or if you Google the restaurant and access the Toast site to order, you will get the current, actual prices. But these are way too many variables for a customer to reasonably navigate or to know what is accurate. We ordered the following: - Thai Sampler - We expected to pay $14.96/99 (two prices, one on the PDF and one via the Order Now link); the actual current price is an astounding $22.50 ($15 was a good deal, we thought; $22.50 is not--not for what you get) - Chicken Pad Thai - We expected to pay $13.96/99; the actual price is $14.95 - Yellow Curry - $13.96/99; actual price, $14.95 - Sticky Rice - $3.00; actual price, $4.00 A difference of over $10. Not great.

The restaurant appears to be a little mom and pop shop. Upon arrival the hostess was on the phone and just waived us off to seat ourselves. After her phone call she did come greet us and bring us menus. It was pretty empty during late lunch a little after 1:00 p.m. Decor and ambiance was as I mentioned earlier mom and pop shop feel. The menu consisted of Thai and Lao food we tried a few things but found the flavors lacking in a few areas. The pad seew was very close to being traditional Thai Pad seew, but traditionally there are never any carrots or cilantro added to the dish, the cilantro which I normally love cilantro was too floral and made the Pad Seew taste like soap. The Lard na was deemed "just okay" by my father in-law again the randomly added carrots. The sausage was over priced for literally 1 sausage cut into smaller pieces and lacked flavor and it was a bit gamey. The cucumbers slices served with all the meals were too mature to be served the way they were, just huge thick slices, if you're a gardener you'll understand. The papaya salad I don't recall anything good or bad about it. The squid salad was not what we expected but still good, again nothing that makes me say I need to try this again. Would we try it again "maybe."
