We love this restaurant and if we're heading back home from the Boston Post Road we will stop in on occasion as it is on the way so why drive by? We have only eaten from the lunch menu and that offers a variety of dishes that include a cup of really good soup, I mean soooo tasty - I love the coconut without chicken ( I am pescatarian, otherwise vegan) absolutely delicious! Tom Yum is also offered. In addition to the soup you can choose an appetizer such as a vegetable dumpling, chicken satay or shrimp tempura - all very good. The main course offers a number of thai dishes, just choose your protein: tofu, shrimp ($3 extra), squid ($3 extra), mixed seafood ($6 extra) chicken, beef, duck ($6 extra) or just choose vegetables. Dishes include: Curries, Stir Fry, Noodles, Fried Rice - plenty to choose from and all well prepared. Service is excellent and very accommodating. Atmosphere is comfortable, high ceiling, beautiful wall art, tables are not too close together. Well worth the visit! read more

Food is delicious! Finally got a chance to sit in. It's a quiet and calm setting. Service is nice and the espresso martinis were delicious.

Nice spot to have dinner on a weeknight, not much foot traffic around these evenings but plenty of high quality vegetarian friendly dishes to choose from! The ambiance is very calming with soft guitar tunes and low lighting, I really appreciated the detail put into the decor of the tables. First visit here today on the recommendation of a coworker and we were not disappointed! We started with the Thai sampler appetizer which was absolutely fabulous! I could have made a meal in that alone - the satay chicken and sauce was my favorite! Soooo tender and flavorful Our entrees were the crispy pad Thai (Omgosh!!), the Thai fried rice with beef and the hot (I asked for very hot!) basil with chicken which was out of this world! The place was clean and comfortable and the service on point! FYI there's no alcohol but that's really no detriment! Amazing food and we'll definitely be back! read more

My fiancé and I went to the Bangkok room for lunch and it was outstanding. The restaurant was extremely clean and the waitstaff was very friendly. I started with a thai coffee, which I had never had, and my taste buds were pleasantly surprised. The coffee was amazing. For an appetizer, we had crab rangoons, which were very crabby and not particularly my favorite crab rangoons (I'm used to them being more cream-cheesy then crabby), but they were fine. I think that's more of a me problem rather than something that i didn't like about the restaurant. For an entree, i ordered chicken pad thai and white rice, which had great flavor and was very fresh. My fiancé had the chicken drunken noodles which were also amazing. Our experience was excellent and we will definitely be back to Bangkok Room. read more

Contemporary casual Asian/Thai dining in the heart of downtown Ansonia ? Yes ! In searching for a half way point to meet with friends we lucked out with Bangkok Room. Finding a place like this between Waterbury & Milford started out as a challenge but fortunately Bangkok Room's website helped us decide that this was the place. Their menu is varied, from the stir fried to the various curries with several house specialities offered in between provide diners plenty of options. If you like spicy heat infused food, be sure to insist, otherwise seasoning can be timid. Several of their Japanese Noodle soup bowls try hard to provide a true ramen flavor profile but they miss the mark. Appetizers are very good & their Thai sampler starter adequately feeds four. This is a BYOB place ...So bring your wine & beer if that's your thing. We found table service pleasant & competent, albeit a bit slow with one diner out of the four having to wait for their primary meal after others had been served. This may have happened because only one chef was cooking & plating very different entrees. There is both street parking & off street parking available but off street parking is limited. Seating is well spaced & comfortable. We will return. read more

Had a delicious dinner here! The Tom Yum soup, crab rangoons, and Thai sampler were all delicious for appetizers. Everyone was happy with their entrees of drunken lemongrass chicken, drunken noodles, fried rice, yellow curry, pad Thai, and Param noodle as well. We found the restaurant to be really clean, and it was nice that the kitchen was open, where you could see it was clean there as well. This is a great local spot close to home for us, so we will definitely be back! read more

I went here for takeout because they had a deal going on. I had the chicken satay and chicken fried rice. Both were very good and the portions here are quite generous with decent prices. The staff was friendly and courteous, atmosphere looks very nice. Parking is on the street but looks like it's typically not a problem. There is also a big parking lot across the street. The spices are excellent and the portions are filling but not too too much! You'll be able to finish your dish with room for dessert. I recommend the mango sticky rice. Ordered the pad see u. The noodles were supposed to be the flat rice noodles, however they were pad thai looking noodles. There was a picture on their website of the noodles and it looked more like what I am used to so I was surprised when I saw them that they were different. The noodles did not have any flavor, and were super dry. I did reach out to the restaurants email because I drove home 30 min after picking up the order and realized this and was disappointed. My wife and I came by for lunch after reading all the positive reviews. So we ordered from the Lunch Menu Special and ordered the papaya salad from the regular menu. My wife ordered the Tom Yum soup w/salad to start and the Pad Thai as the entree. A little heads up was the Tom Yum soup was a bit spicy and needed a little more flavoring. The peanut dressing for the salad was delicious and well balance. The Pad Thai was very flavorable and a little saucier than most which FITS PERFECT for me. Most restaurant that cooks Pad Thai I found it to be drier and heavier. But Bangkok Room Pad Thai was probably the best I had. The Papaya Salad was something we shared as something to munch on before our order came out. The Papaya Salad order was large but lacked the citrus flavoring. I ordered the chicken yellow curry which also probably needed more flavoring as well BUT the dish came out wonderfully plated and sizably filling. The restaurant was very comfortable and very clean. The atmosphere and music set you up relax - like I'm ready to chow down and chill. OH - by the way they have a sign on their window BYOB. So that's pretty cool - no hidden surprise. Wow.. I had heard about Bangkok room from a few people and I'm kicking myself for not going sooner. We ordered takeaway on a Friday night and the wait time was minimal. It was easy to place our order via phone but would be nice to order online. Food: outstanding !! We order spring rolls, panang beef and drunken noodles. The food was beyond my expectations. The volume of meat and veggies with each dish was a lot more than most other Thai restaurants. The flavors were perfect and the spice level was exactly what we asked for. 4 out of 5 had nice heat!! Sap, sap, sap!!! (Means, delicious, delicious, delicious). I am A fanatic pad Thai lover and not so many Asian places make good Pad Thai. However, this place delivers a 10/10 on the Pad Thai given my second time eating here. Oh, and I love spicy food and they are on point with it too! Ambiance is so perfect for me. Light music in the background, room decor is trendy with their lights and even spiritual on the wall! Love the seasonal holiday decor on the table too! Service is so genuine and kind! I would be broke living next to this restaurant which thank goodness I am not, but I have to drive 1 1/2 hr to get here. So it is a delightful treat for MEE when I do get to eat here. Went here for a dinner with my family last Wednesday and have to say we were all impressed.. My wife and I happen to love Thai food. Our adult children were willing to give it a try. The menu selection is impressive and interesting. The food was served quickly and was absolutely delicious. 3 days later we were all still talking about how good our meals were. You also cannot beat the price. So why the 4? couple of small things: 1) We were seated in front by the windows which did not seem to have that much A/C flowing. ( could have just been a function of the crazy heat of the day) 2) Our waitress was not particularly friendly. She was polite, but she may have been having a bad day since she did not crack a smile and seemed distracted. 3) Service was fast, but almost too fast. It is nice to linger a bit between appetizer and main course, but as soon as the appetizer plates were cleared, we were served our meals. it would have been nice to have 5 minutes at least. Don't let these small negatives discourage you back from visiting the Bankok Room. My family and I cannot wait to go back! read more

Wow was I surprised when I found excellent Thai food in the valley! I gotta say that strip of Main St in Ansonia has come a very long way. First, the staff are extremely friendly and attentive! The place is clean and very nicely decorated in inside. Sitting there you would never know you were in Seymour! We've been there twice in a week and both times the food was great. So happy I don't have to drive all the way to New Haven or Orange for good Thai food. You can order no spice, little spice or hot. I order little spice and it's perfect for me. Beautiful ambiance, great food. Even the bathroom is pretty. Plenty of seating and BYOB. The way it is set up you can see the kitchen, so the staff is cooking your food right in front of you. We ordered the Thai iced tea, tofu and shrimp pad see ew, chicken wings, spring rolls and veggie dumplings. Everything was so good! Very well seasoned food and beautiful presentation. The only fail was the chicken wings. They were dry, had no seasoning with too much batter and weren't fried long enough. The meat eaters were very disappointed. Went here for the first time tonight, and loved it! Firstly, parking is super convenient, there's street parking or a lot across the street. The inside is new and has a cool chic ambiance. Very clean, and well tended to. The service was very prompt, and our server was super friendly. Food was on point as well! I got the yellow curry with chicken, and my Mom for the panang curry with chicken. Both were delicious. We also got the crab rangoons to start, they were good but not the best I've ever had. I would probably pass on the crab rangoons next time but I will certainly be getting other dishes including the curry again in the future! Prices very affordable too!
