Loved their food and customer service . From appetizer to dessert, everything was yummy..

This review has nothing to do with the gracious girl working behind the counter because that's why it's 2 stars and not 1...Normally we order from here on a pretty regular basis. So tonight took a little bit of phone tag to try and get someone to answer the actual phone. Once I placed my order for pick up, they told me 25 minutes. So I did a quick grocery run before hand and made it there just at the half hour mark. I was greeted by the wonderful girl behind the counter. My food was not ready so I paid and took a seat to wait. She went in back to check on my Pho soups that I had ordered and came back to let me know "they ran out of bean sprouts". For what it's worth anyone that gets Pho, the vegetable of the soup is the actual bean sprout. So I told her it was ok, but in reality wha type of soup am I getting without one the main ingredients. So about 20 minutes later my food was ready and I left. I was disturbed to find that when I got home I opened up what should have had the sauces and bean spouts in it, had my sauces and iceberg lettuce. ICEBERG LETTUCE!! Now these pho soups are not 10$ they are 18$ for what I ordered. If they couldn't fulfill the order as requested I should have been offered a discount or some sort of replacement. Needless to say I didn't know what was in the container until I got home. Highly disappointed with my 90$ order.

12.24.23 This is going to be one of those I can't believe I haven't posted a review for this place yet, even after the dozens of times I've been here over the last handful of years. This is Naugatuck's hidden gem. They most definitely deserve the accolades. A family run Asian business. Need I say more? I've encountered most of if not all of their family members at some point. They're always so sweet kind and patient. They are all so genuine & kindhearted people. Their are very hospitable. It does take a little bit longer at times for you to receive your food but it's worth it. They're making it to order and it's always fresh. They don't have a lot of staff working with them usually. I have tried many different menu items and i can truly say I've never been disappointed. The inside is ornately decorated with something interesting everywhere you look. The ambiance is casual & friendly from the moment you walk in and get sat. Nice relaxing vibe. The Thai iced tea is a great starter. It goes great with their Larb. Yummers. The Thai crispy egg rolls are great too with the fish sauce. There are some lunch specials that are very inexpensive they run Monday thru Friday but I prefer most of the items from their regular menu. Let's just say the lunch specials i have had weren't my favorite items from their menu. My favorite is their Lad Naah with the side noodles, Chinese broccoli & the gravy. Serious yummers. IMO. For real. Almost forgot about the Sai Ghock which was delicious too. It's home made. But My all time fav is the mango sticky rice of course. This is drool worthy yumms :-) The parking situation is very easy. There's parking on both sides of the street and a large parking lot across the street for many of the surrounding businesses. Also forgot to mention their prices which are very reasonable for the product that you receive. They never rush you out of there like some places do. You'll always leave feeling replenished & happy.

I can't believe it's taken me this long to visit the Thai restaurant in my own town, but I'm so glad I finally did! It's a small, cozy spot with friendly staff. I was very happy with my pad Thai - it had such a great flavor! There were plenty of large pieces of chicken mixed in too. My dad enjoyed his dish of cashew duck as well. Chiangmai Thai didn't quite beat out my favorite Thai restaurant, but it's close! It's a great option to have when I don't feel like leaving town.

Finally got a picture of my noodles before I dove in! The best pad see yew I've ever had in my life! I always ask for it with chicken, extra egg and no veggies and it always hits the spot. 10/10 recommend.

5/5 for food, service, and ambiance!!! The small details in this establishment truly do not go unnoticed. The owner, Bay, took his time to talk to us and was so, so nice. His wife's aunt, who they call "grandma" is the chef and makes authentic, delicious food. I really felt like he was talking to me like family. I loved how every single drink comes with straws that look like origami roses (even the water) and he said he makes them all by himself!! They're so cute. I love how he puts that time and effort into making the dining experience special for others. The food was incredible - we got the wonton pad Thai and chicken drunken noodles. Great portions and flavor. The Thai iced tea was served in a cute mason jar and was the best I've had. The crab rangoons to me were OK, but my friend liked them more than from other Thai restaurants. I loved their crispy tofu though! The restaurant is also very clean and cozy! I honestly felt like I was in their home being served food made with love. Chiang Mai is not in my area at all, but I think it was worth the trip!

Food 5 stars Server attitude 2 stars! I stand behind my previous 5 star review for the food but last nights experience, the first with my husband joining my girls and me was a huge disappointment and I know he won't go back. Granted we arrived at 8:30 but had ordered eaten and left by 9:15 with a 9:30 closing time. And we asked when we walked in if it was too late to say in and we're told no. No pictures because we felt rushed with the heavy sighs and loud "I just wanna go home" comments from our server multiple times and "NO PROBLEM" so loud and often to our thank yous, that it obviously was. Unfortunate that this delicious food is overshadowed by very poor attitude and totally explains why people pick up and the rests I'd always empty. Will be looking for a new place for future Thai food fixes!

Was in need of a comforting, cozy atmosphere so I had to make another trip to Changmai. Service was prompt and so friendly, nothing better than a humble local spot for some good authentic Thai food. Will be back again

It wasnt bad but definitely an interesting experience…read more Went here with my father. I ordered Pho, he ordered a thai noodle dish. Service was prompt and pretty good. The inside is very "unique" its decorated somewhat like a bad dream mixed with animal pelts. The pho was disappointing. It wasnt rice noodles, it came with nothing on the sides like normal pho (no basil, hoison, bean sprouts, lime etc). When I asked for hoison sauce they brought out an industrial sized bottle that had dried sauce on the sides. I am not sure what to make of this. Nothing was bad, but it was just a weird experience.

This was my first visit, so I ordered cautiously ... only two apps that are typically my favorites in a Thai restaurant. 1) shrimp fresh roll (aka summer roll) 2) tom yum soup Both were good. The fresh roll was the best of the lot and the sauce was excellent. I wish the veggies were a little colder. But that's splitting hairs. The soup was good. Had more funk than spice. Portion was borderline small - but happy I tried it. I will absolutely be back to try more "real" food. I appreciated the service and felt very well taken care of. What keeps me from giving a better score were a few, housekeeping items: 1) while I was pleased to see each table gets a lovely carafe of water, that water is really difficult to drink. It has a metallic and "funky" taste to it. It kind of turned me off to wanting to eat more before I ordered as I was then questioning "is this water in everything?" 2) my shoes kept sticking to the floor. Not out of filth/dirt, but it felt like the soap or floor cleaner they used was somehow still there and sticky. None of this impacted the food. But it put me in a mindset where I didn't really want to order an abundance of food and try it all. To be clear: I will be back. I can't wait to try some other dishes.

I was so pleasantly surprised from our first visit at Sakana that I had to make a return trip later…read morethe same week. It was a humble reminder that you don't need to go to a culinary destination to find good food. Cheshire Connecticut may not be known for its food scene, however, I found Sakana was a genuine diamond in the rough. My expectations were admittedly low going in. My level of skepticism is always high when I see the "Asian Bistro" moniker, as it is frequently used for restaurants to try to appeal to the masses at the expense of quality by having a "jack-of-all-trades" menu that lacks the technical intricacies and mastery required for specific dishes. Additionally, these establishments tend to follow a "cookie-cutter" menu and offer the same boring dishes you can find at every other Asian Bistro. Even when initially walking towards the restaurant, I had my doubts. The exterior of Sakana honestly looked more like a clinic than a restaurant. Once I saw the menu however, my skepticism shifted towards optimism. For a local bistro, they feature a surprisingly extensive wine and cocktail menu, including premium sake options. I was particularly impressed to find toro on the menu; although it's undoubtedly becoming more of a trend in Connecticut, I was nevertheless happy to see it offered at Sakana as well. Overall I liked their sushi selections and everything I ordered was well-prepared and tasted fresh. We ordered a chicken and broccoli for our daughter and found the chicken tender and broccoli perfectly cooked. That may not sound impressive to those reading, but you'll be surprised how many restaurants fail to execute this baseline dish correctly. The service, although pleasant, was probably the only "weak link" of our experiences here. The quality of service was noticeably inconsistent between our two visits, and they would benefit vastly from having a more reliable and experienced front-of-house team to match the execution coming from the kitchen and sushi bar. Despite this minor gripe, Sakana was a standout. As long as I'm in the area, they will definitely be among the top of my list of places to eat!

So friendly. Is the food exceptional? To me no, but my parents enjoy it. Tonight we started with crab rangoons. Pretty good. Sauce on the side not very exciting. A chili sauce would be better. I got a sushi roll with White tuna inside and cooked shrimp on top and wasabi mayo. I forget the name of the roll but it was better than the two times I've ordered takeout. Miso soup was also good. Their soup bowls are in the shape of a heart which is super cute. Dad got some sort of a mixed protein dish with brown sauce (had shrimp, chicken and beef). Mom got the chicken and garlic sauce. They both got fried rice on the side. I tried it and it was very bland. Dad also got a salad with his meal and the ginger dressing was not very good. Red coloring to it. Usually ginger dressing is more on the orange side. Dad also got the Malaysian chicken coconut soup to start and it could use a bit more flavor. Was a bit watery. Mom loved her sweet and sour soup. Nice that this place is 5 minutes away. Cheshire needs more restaurants. Def not my fav restaurant in town though. Food to me is just ok.
