Very good Thai food. Picked up on NYE. Cute inside. Street parking but plenty of. We got the green curry and chicken with basil. Never had peas in curry. That would be my only critique is that was a bit random and not much of a variety of vegetables. Tons of green beans but the curry flavor was delicious. Also got the pork spare ribs which were delicious. Unique flavor.

    Chicken drunken noodles. Disappointing.

I ordered the chicken drunken noodles and unfortunately was disappointed with the dish. The flavor was noticeably sour, which overpowered the meal and did not align with what I typically expect from drunken noodles. Additionally, the menu description states that the dish includes basil and carrots; however, neither of these ingredients were present in my order. The vegetable portion overall was quite minimal, which further added to my disappointment, as this dish is usually known for its balance of noodles, protein, and fresh vegetables. Based on my experience, the dish did not meet the expectations set by the description, and I would not recommend this particular dish. I'm including a picture of what the dish looked like upon opening it as well as a photo comparison of the dish they have posted on their website.

Best duck that I've had in years. It was light, crispy, and well balanced with the red curry. We'll be back next year.

I have visited Za Onn numerous times for takeout. Tonight was our first time dining in. They have updated the interior and it is quite cute. Both bright and cheery. My husband and I were looking for an affordable night out, and because this place is BYOB, it fit the bill. For starters, we had edamame and vegetable dumplings called jeebjay. I highly recommend the dumplings, the dough was perfect. We shared two main dishes: pineapple fried rice with chicken and pad lah nah with shrimp. Both were outstanding. The pad lah nah had wide soft noodles combined with the slightly crunchy broccoli in a slightly thick broth. The flavors and textures were excellent. The fried rice was so good. My husband said we're coming back here next week so we can try other varieties! The service was excellent. And I know this is not a typical part of a review, but the ladies room was immaculate.

Za Onn Thai House in Wallingford, CT You will love the calming atmosphere and quaintness of this wonderful Thai restaurant. Great service and fantastic food. Highly recommended.

Ambiance always adorable and tastefully decorated. The owner is amazing so sweet hard worker. The food is consistent enough that we probably eat here or take out 2-4x a month.

Nice little place and very tasty! I had delicious spring rolls. And The dinner was Pad Lad Nah which was a soup type of dish with veggies and tender beef. Delicious!

Tom yum soup with a side of rice

Delicious!! Had Tom Yum soup with a side of jasmine rice. Cute space and friendly staff. Also enjoyed one of the more unique takes on calamari that I've ever had. Have been back a few times and everything has been very good.

Large portions and good Thai food. This place has been a go to for me when I'm in the Wallingford area for a couple of years. The owner is also very nice. I usually get this as takeout but had a good experience the one time I dined in as well (dining area is on smaller side but good an a nice break in the AC!) usually quiet inside.

The location in in between two pizza places on the North Haven side of Rt 5 in Wallingford. It's our go-to take out place. Recently we dined in and it was even better. Their tom kha is so flavorful. The green curry beef noodle dish was huge and delicious with the right amount of spice. Unassuming simplicity inside with more take-away orders than diners, it seemed. But dining area was nice. I've dined here years ago and it was different. I imagine they changed owners or renovated in some way, because it's extra good.

Food- spring rolls are always good. However, I will say my go to is generally the pad Thai. Sometimes it is spot on and other times it almost tastes like there are different cooks, and it where it tastes like it came from a wok that is too hot/singed flavor and the right flavors just aren't there. I did notice they changed to more biodegrading to go products which is nice though! My family member got the Massaman Currt and reported it was not as good as usual, this time around it was very soupy with minimal spice. I've never eaten inside but this looks like a small hole in the wall spot from the outside , it is very quaint. Overall, return out of convenience when visiting the area from time to time but wish there were more consistency with when those dishes have been closer to their best!

Very relaxed atmosphere and you're never felt like you're being rushed to finish and leave, like so many other restaurants. Their foods are made fresh so it may take slightly longer to get your meal, but when you do, you'll be amazed...it's so good! They're very accomodating with altering their meals for any reason. Two of our party are vegan and as such cannot eat/have certain items. This was not a problem at all here! The service here is impeccable too. So polite and appreciative of your business. I like the other restaurant so I figured if BP is even better than that place then I have to try it. It's also not far from me so I quickly decided to check it out. Happy I did. Everything I got was delicious! I ordered the pumpkin curry with beef and a Thai tea with no ice to go. The Thai tea is the best I've ever had and that's no exaggeration. It is sweeter than others I've tried but I have a sweet tooth so that's actually one of the things I like best about it. It may not be for you if you like your tea less sweet. The pumpkin curry was so good! The beef was really tender. I have nothing negative to say about either the food or drink. I will def be back and I will be trying so much more. I will, especially, be taking advantage of their weekday lunch specials. Stay tuned for an updated review once I've gone a few more times but judging from this first visit, I know I will continue to be impressed.

So this was my first time trying a vegan restaurant .. which was recommend to me by my friend …read more I will say I'm not vegan and neither is my husband but I wanted to bring my mom and sister who are vegetarian for a nice family dinner . And I am so glad I did ! The food was amazing , the owner is so sweet we got to meet her and she told us her story about wanting to have her own restaurant since forever ! So they normally have a regular menu however they do offer vegan hot pot with a reservation which I highly recommend because it was amazing !!! We tried all the vegan food ( vegan duck , vegan chicken , tofu , fried tofu ) . Which was really good because if you have never tried vegan food before this allowed you the option to try all the different protein options and see which you liked rather than ordering a single dish . And considering I'm not vegan and my husband loves meat a lot ... we still enjoyed ourselves, all the food was delicious and filling ! My favourite was the vegan duck and the fried tofu and the spicy curry ( highly recommend) Even the dessert which was a Oreo and banana pudding was delicious. Overall 10/10 great food , great location and atmosphere, great staff ! I highly recommend even if your a meat lover to go give it a try ... and you might be pleasantly surprised ( I was ) and I will definitely be back to try some more dishes !

Merely peckish, we didn't order as much as we ordinarily would have. However, what we did order hit the spot, and resoundingly so. We ordered one cup of tom yum with coconut milk, one cup of tom yum with clear broth, spring rolls, and chive patties. The tom yum with coconut milk was almost like a curry: very filling and creamy. The tom yum with clear broth was spicy, with every sip bursting with flavour. The portions were absolutely gigantic, and we had plenty left over. The spring rolls were perfectly hot and perfectly crispy. The filling was also delicious. The chive patties were also fried to a crisp, and were my favourite item on the menu. The food took a relatively long time to come, but service was very friendly. The ambiance was warm, with some interesting East Asian artwork. I'm always excited about all-vegan places, just because I can eat everything listen on the menu and don't have to parse carefully to figure out what I can consume. Simultaneously, I hold these establishments to high standards: such restaurants need to be truly exceptional to thrive. My dining partner and I were delighted with our experience at Aroy, and hope to return when we're next in Connecticut.

Long Island Duck Pineapple Curry: Recommended by the owner. My first time trying a sweet and sour curry; the refreshing pineapple balanced well with the rich curry. The duck was just okay, mainly because it was too dry. Mango Sticky Rice: A pleasant surprise; my parents also loved it. The coconut milk had a strong sea salt and caramel flavor, likely due to the addition of coconut sugar or palm sugar. Steamed Vegetables: Just steamed vegetables, without any seasoning.
