Thai tanic is quintessential Thai food. Best in the area for sure and no different than you would get in country. The service is so welcoming and your order is done quickly. Tiny inside but you can eat there and I have. Go here it's awesome. Try their hot oil... read more

Had decided to get Chinese food for the night but went here instead. Very glad we did. It's amazing how much more flavor there was in everything. Everything was really good-pineapple fried rice, crab Rangoon, orange chicken, and green curry chicken. read more

Excellent food, best pad Thai you will ever have! great service and excellent ambience!

We came here after charging my car and it looked like a hole in the wall. The food was amazing and tasted authentic. From the fried rice to the drunken noodles, we couldn't stop eating. The Tom kha was super flavorful. I love their fried tofu inside the fried rice. I wish they had a non dairy milk version of their Thai iced tea but I do appreciate the flexibility in their actual food items. Parking on site and prices are very reasonable. It's definitely the best Thai I've had in Connecticut and I'll definitely be returning. read more

They say good things come in small packages. Thai Tanic is just that. I was on my own for lunch and running an errand in Wallingford, so I took the back way home. I was about to pass Thai Tanic and boy am I glad that I didn't. I mentioned at the counter that it was my first time there. I told the gentlemen that I would like to try the Drunken Noodles since it is usually my go to. I opted for medium heat and I'm glad I didn't go any spicier. I ordered to go, so I took a seat in the small dining area to wait for my meal. I was there around 3:00 so the place was empty, but a woman did come in to pick up. There were maybe three smaller tables. The area was clean and bright. My meal was done in minutes and I was pleasantly surprised by a sample Crab Rangoon. I have not ordered Crab Rangoon in years. It's very hard to achieve the right ratio of sweetness, let alone the amount of wonton to filling. This Rangoon was crispy on the outside and filled to the brim with an amazing crab and cream cheese filling. I will definitely be ordering these next time. My Drunken Noodles was enough for two smaller meals or one large serving. A great deal for the price. I love that they added some fried egg to the top. After trying the Drunken Noodles it will be hard to choose anything else! read more

The food was delicious as usual. Helped that they gave me a free dish that was extra and they would have to throw it away. So glad I found this restaurant!! read more

Great food and large portions, hole in the wall spot with some of the best Thai around.

I ordered dinner a few nights ago for pick up. The order was ready right on time. I ordered the orange chicken, won ton soup, and Pad Thai. I loved the the chicken and noodles. I was asked how hot on a scale of 1-5 I'd like the Pad Thai, and I said 3. I might go with 2 next time, but it wasn't too uncomfortably hot. You can choose your meat, and i chose pork since i rarely eat it. The orange chicken had a great flavor, and even had real orange pieces in it. My least favorite was the soup. It was too bland for me and way over cooked. While I'd order from here again, I would stay away from this particular soup. The portions were big, and we were able to get four whole servings out of this order! read more

Food was amazing! Coming from California, and not sure what to expect I ordered the yellow chicken curry medium spicy. It was amazing, and pretty spicy. Also, also had a Thai iced tea which was really good. Just be careful of how spicy you order your food. read more

Yummo!! Hubs and I stopped into this new-found neighborhood gem! So glad we did! The owner, Ben is kind and courteous and very accommodating. He helped us out with menu selection, as there was so many yummy options to choose from. We decided to order the Tom Yum soup spicy level 4, the steamed Thai dumplings, the shrimp pad thai and a green curry vegetable with brown wild rice! ALL delicious!! Our favorite was the Tom Yum soup! Super spicy, but oh so good! And the owners were kind enough to send out a authentic thai dessert, which was a form of rice pudding with taro - different but yummy! There's no doubt that we will be back to this restaurant and it might be a little dangerous just how close they are located to us! :) read more

Tried out Thai Tanic based on the yelp reviews while out for the day with my daughter. We try to find different and unexpected places not so close to home. We were very impressed. Really got the "hole in the wall" vibe. Very small place that's so easy to overlook where it is. But as well all know those are usually the best places to go to for the really good stuff. We dined in. Not many tables but we're only 2 so it was easy enough. The gentleman up front was very cordial and on top of things. Food came out quite fast. I got the drunken noodles and she got the Pho. The servings were very well sized but more importantly the flavors were fantastic. The vegetables tasted and felt fresh and the seasonings, sauces and broth were all on point. While it's not so close to home, we agree we'll be making another trip back. read more

My go to place for authentic tasty Thai food locally. Repeat customer! Everything is so good from the drunken noodles, to the sweet sour chicken and the soups and so much more! Also you are asked how spicy you wish the food to be, scale 1 to 5, if you are not used to spicy food start low. Authentic food has taste flavor and heat. Owner is super friendly and welcoming, which makes a difference since truly does any of the fast food joints know and remember your name? NO they do not, you are just another customer another number. Great food can come from small places, and so proud that Meriden has this gem! read more

Don't let the exterior fool you, Thai Tanic is a gem. We were driving through and found the restaurant on Yelp. Most people got carry out, but we ate in the dinning area that only had 3-4 small tables. Food: One of the best Tom Yum soup I've ever had. Soup came out piping hot and was absolutely delicious. Their specialty, Duck Curry, is a must have. The duck was crispy on the outside and the meat was tender. The curry was very flavorful. Service: Even though front of the house was a one man show, the service was great. read more

I am so glad they opened in Meriden, we needed a good Thai restaurant. I ordered shrimp summer rolls and the pad woon sen for lunch. The young man at the front counter was so nice! He asked how spicy I wanted my dish on a scale of 1 to 5. I picked a 3 and found it the perfect amount of spicy for me! Everything was made to order and you could tell the ingredients were fresh. Nothing was greasy or too saucy, etc. the peanut sauce with the summer rolls was sooo yummy, and my glass noodles and veggies perfectly cooked with good flavor. I know it doesn't seem like much on the outside, but I appreciate that there's parking and some tables inside to sit. The restaurant looks clean and well taken care of. Now that I work from home more, I'm definitely going to be coming back here again and again! read more

In town to visit relatives and found this restaurant. A Small place for sitting but the pad Thai with noodles and shrimp was soo tasty & delicious. My daughter ordered the basil fried rice with chicken. She eats pretty slow but her meal was done before mine. The manager of the establishment was funny and overly loud when greeting and seating. But was very polite & generous. It was our 1st time there but the way patrons were talking about how they had to come back because their food was so good, that we knew found the right place to dine. read more

I've ordered from Thai Tanic many times and have never been disappointed. I just had a pleasant time with my daughter sitting inside. It isn't fancy but the people are so friendly that you just felt right at home. My daughter ordered the Pho with beef and it was amazing and a huge portion size. I ordered the Drunken Noodle Beef medium spice out of 5 Starr for Super Spicey Heat level and it was excellent. Plenty of heat, the flavors were on point and the veggies fresh & crisp. We also ordered Crab Rangoons and were amazed at the home made dumpling style Rangoons busting with fresh cheese and almost a Lobster Flavor!!! Better than any Crab Rangoons I have ever had!!!! Great little place to have a home like cooked meal. Food is delicious and owners are friendly.

Food was fresh, but they add too much MSG in the soup! Was drinking water all night because of it!

Chicken Pad Thai was GREAT! Perfectly cooked noodles and lots of chicken. Portion was generous and the staff was friendly. Seats 8 inside and a few more outside, mostly take-out. Highly recommended. I enjoyed my meal. Reasonably priced. read more

Went to go visit my Sister after three months, we all decided to eat at the place we felt welcomed when we first arrived to Connecticut . The food was so delicious like the previous two times we have visited the location. My go-to dish has to be the Salmon Teriyaki! My mom and younger sister had the Tom Yum Beef Soup and Curry on the go. While my sister (the one that now resides in Connecticut) got Pad Thai & Father got Snow Crab Rice which was so delicious BTW! The service is amazing and I recommend anybody that does live in Connecticut to give it a try and support this family business. This is our new go to place every time we visit Connecticut read more

"Jungle Fever" I've got Jungle Fever ! Jungle Curry fever that is. I called and ordered lunch from Thai Tanic today. The owner greeted me with a great big smile and had just finished my order when I arrived. I had Jungle Curry with chicken, galangale, peppercorns, baby corn, bell pepper, string beans, carrots, zucchini, mushrooms, and basil. Perfect amount of spice to heat up your palate for that feverish feeling of eating good food. The bell peppers, carrots, and string beans were cooked through, but still had a nice crunch. The green peppercorns and fresh basil added even more flavor to the dish. I was happy to have the side of white rice to soak up every last drop of the delicious curry broth. Already thinking about what I'll have the next time. read more

We stumbled upon this place to avoid traffic on our drive from NYC to Boston. It's a family run hole in the wall with THE BEST THAI FOOD IVE EVER HAD. I'm not joking. The waiter graciously brought out complementary crab rangoons and they were legit the best I've had. Real crab, crunchy outside, creamy sweet inside. YUM! Then onto the dumplings, pad see-ew and pad Thai. All was wonderful, fresh and flavorful. The chef is the real deal. Thanks for great service and an amazing pit stop that far exceeded our expectations. read more

Not sure how I missed the opening of this place since I LOVE Thai food. I'm so happy there's finally a spot closer to me. When I went to pick up my order, I was greeted by the owner who is very sweet and welcoming! For my first visit it was only right that I tried the Pad Thai - it did not fail. The size is big, it feeds at least 2 people and the sauce was just right. The crab rangoon was good - nice and stuffed. A family member had the drunken noodles and instantly said they would order it again. I definitely want to try a bubble tea next. The reason for the 4 stars is simply because I haven't been here enough yet to speak for the rest of the menu...I'll update after more visits :) read more
