Oh my God, just like the Thai grandma that I never had used to make. Ordered online, super easy, super quick and didn't even need to step foot inside during this pandemic. Shrimp Summer Rolls were amazing as usual but my Pad See Eew and Drunken Noodles were some of the best that I have ever had in a long time. Both may look the same of very similar but are very distinct in flavor. Both had perfectly cooked vegetables, meat was flavorful and tender. But the noodles and everything all together just left me with the most savory meal ever, just the way I like it. Prices were great, food was hot, nothing to hate I really loved my experience. I decided to update my review since it has been some time since I last ordered from Thai Kitchen 4. For takeout: vegetarian steamed dumplings, spicy eggplant, garlic duck, (both served with veggies and jasmine rice) and Thai iced tea. All dishes were fantastic and so fresh. The Thai iced tea was sweetly addicting and refreshing! I want to drink this everyday. This was the first time trying the garlic duck. It was scrumptious and crispy with a mild and most delicious garlic taste.The spicy eggplant dish with onions, peppers, and basil was so very tasty--just enough kick without being overpowering. The jasmine rice was perfectly cooked--a little sticky and firm. The dumplings were just so nice to start the meal off with, dipping them in the sauce and enjoying the tastes and textures. When I arrived at 6:30pm on a weekday, and I was the only one in the restaurant. My friend and I were the only diners the whole time. There were a few takeout pickups and two people at the bar area. Not sure why it was so empty. Our waitress was really nice and attentive. The menu was pretty standard and prices were pretty average, as well. I got the green curry with medium spicy. It was ok, wish I had gone for hotter and that the peppers were softer. There was a nice portion of tofu, though. They were also accommodating of my friend's dish and used steamed tofu. I was charged $50 including service charge, they ( not sure the restaurant or grub hub) forget the dumplings. This was surprisingly delicious Thai food! We were craving a late dinner and ordered here tonight. I got the sweet and sour chicken. The sauce was perfectly sweet without being sticky sweet with just the tiniest bit of spice. The veggies were super duper fresh and the rice was perfect. My husband got the Thai fried rice with pork and said it was delicious. I did order the sticky rice with mango - it was not my favorite. The dish didn't travel well. So we eyed this place and said let's give it a go. To say that food EXCEEDED my expectations is an understatement. We shed the fried rolls fresh rolls and crab rangoon. Pandemic Update: The patio was open for dine in. However, the tables were dusty. I don't know how much wiping and disinfecting was being done. Since I was the only one there, I felt pretty safe and didn't really mind. I had ordered a curry that did not have coconut milk. Medium spicy with a nice little punch to it. The curry wasn't that flavorful though. Maybe there was but I mostly tasted spicy and salt. The whole dish could only be described as underwhelming. A little bowl of "curry" that had more similarity with a soup. A standard serving of rice. If I don't this at a cafeteria, I'd be happy but this is supposed to be a restaurant. I have had better experience with Thai food in other restaurants in central CT. I'm sure the pandemic has affected the service and menu. Although the server was extremely friendly, that couldn't save the old, half-cooked food. The dumplings were old, pasty, and tasted bad. The chicken skewer was luke warm and had chunks of inedible marble-shaped pieces of chicken within the actual chicken. Dives can be great, but this establishment is downright dirty, not clean at all. My boyfriend and I order from Thai Kitchen very often. Thai food is my FAVORITE food. We don't have very good, affordable delivery places for Thai food near us, so Thai Kitchen it is...until tonight. I ordered food for myself around 5:45, as the time stamp on my call log says. I was given a 45 min wait time (which is the same wait time they always give regardless of the time or day). At 6:50 I called back to check in. I asked politely for the status of my order and was told it was on it's way. At 7:15 I still hadn't received my order so I called back a second time. Mind you we live 8 mins away according to GoogleMaps and with my experience of driving by frequently. I said I had been waiting for well over an hour and that I wanted to be compensated for the meal. We continued to have a back and forth in which the woman (who never gave me her name) never once apologized and kept asking if I wanted to cancel the order since I wasn't paying? Pause...I understand it's a Friday night and take out is a busy dinner choice for the time and day I ordered. My issues lie with ZERO customer service and/or accountability. I continued to try and talk with the woman on the phone, who wouldn't let me get a word in edgewise. Eventually she must have gotten tired of talking over me and hung up on me. I called back and I can guarantee I wasn't polite this time. The woman who answered the phone was not the woman who I was originally spoke to so she placed my on hold...which was putting the phone down on the counter without pressing "hold". I could hear an exchange of words on the other end. It went something like this- (loose quotes) "the lady you were just talking to is on the phone." "Oh I hung up on her....inaudible words" ME: not happy. No one picked the phone up. I hung up and waited till the phone was put back on the hook. Luckily, the woman who I originally spoke with answered. She continued to not let me speak and kept saying it's a busy night a lot of orders came in at once. I told her I understood that and that I am a reasonable person but I don't think that being told 45 mins with no update on their behalf was unacceptable. I still hadn't received my food and it was going on over 2 hours. I understand I'm rambling but I have never experienced anything like this before. I was and still am so upset. Long review short I said some things about reporting them and never ordering from there again. Which I am 100% never ordering from there again and will strongly suggest the same for my boyfriend and all others! In the end, the nice girl who delivered the cold, stale food received her tip and I didn't sign my reciept. Just beware of horrible people skills from this establishment. read more

Omg where do I start? I love Thai food and it's my absolute favorite type of food. One day I decided to try a new Thai restaurant and ordered from here. Let's just say I never had such horrible food in my life! I ordered the Thai basil fried rice and not only did it have no flavor, but it was completely burnt and had a nasty, burnt flavor too. I also ordered a papaya salad which had old, stale, rotten papaya in it. Normally papaya salad has a lot of flavor and other veggies in it, but this only had plain, flavorless iceberg lettuce in it and nothing else. It was absolutely disgusting and the food was SO bad I couldn't even eat it. It absolutely had no flavor. I called the restaurant to complain and ask them if they had mistakenly given me the wrong order. The owner got on the phone and was very rude. She completely refused to acknowledge that her food was terrible would not give me a refund, and would not replace my order. She did not care, and in fact she hung up on me. I called back and she hung up on me again! She was so rude and so nasty that I eventually ended up calling door dash to complain and they refunded my money. PLEASE DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND DO NOT ORDER FROM HERE! The food is disgusting, and unedible. I hope they shut this place down! read more

The food is decent but the prices keep sharply increasing every few months as the serving sizes actually get smaller. Ordering over the phone is a weird Super Spy-esque Get Smart slapdash: call their number and get no answer. Hang up and decide you might want something else. Then randomly get a call back from the restaurant asking what you want. They need to get their serving sizes and prices back in line and make sure someone is around to pick up the take out phone and this place could be better than it is now, which is just decent. read more

As a recent CT transplant, finding new dining spots has been a bit challenging but after eating here I am a happy camper. My friend and I were looking for a place in Southington to grab Thai food and catch up, but our old standby, Somewhere in Bangkok, was closed that day. I found this place on Yelp, and we decided to try it out. I was skeptical at first because there was literally no one else in the restaurant, but I was so pleasantly surprised by my meal here that I felt like I needed to write a Yelp review and help get the word out. I got the pad thai with pork, which is something I don't normally order but had a craving for that day, and boy was it tasty! The noodles were perfectly chewy, and there was a LOT of them. So many that I couldn't even finish my plate and had to ask my friend to help me. The sauce was well-balanced with just the right amount of tamarind tang, pungent fish sauce, and sweetness. The pork was perfectly cooked, and I felt like it was just the right amount. All in all, one of the better pad thais I've had in CT. My friend got the drunken noodles (which is usually my go-to order), and the bite I had was also fabulous. I couldn't decide which I liked more, since both were so flavorful. Both dishes were $13, which is a dollar or two more than what I'm used to paying for pad thai, but I thought the portion size made up for it, and there are even coupons within the menu that let you take $5 off $30, and greater discounts off more. Our server was very attentive and pleasant throughout. I can't comment on the decor inside since my friend and I decided to eat outside since it was a nice day. It's pretty loud outside due to the restaurant being on a busy street, but we were okay with it, and we appreciate that they offer outdoor seating anyway.
