My friend and I went to Seven Moons Thai Restaurant, since we were in the area. The space inside is very small. When we arrived we had to wait a few minutes for them to wipe down the tables, since a large group had just left. I typically always get one thing and one thing only at Thai restaurants. That would be their Fresh Spring Rolls. I also got the Green Papaya Salad, since I was curious in it. My friend got a soup and the Mango Brown Rice Salad. She was interested in a tea, the server was very kind to get her a complimentary hot ginger tea. As far as my salad, he asked me how spicy I'd like it, I told him "mildly spicy". My spring rolls arrived, and they were very fresh, but the rice paper was very tough. Also the sauce wasn't very peanuty as it usually is. My salad came out shortly after, and it was huge! There was shredded papaya, tomato, green beans and lettuce, followed by a spicy dressing. This was very spicy, nothing was mild about it. It instantly made my eyes water. My friend's salad was also huge. Hers was much better than mine, so we shared hers. The mango and the brown rice are excellent pairings. Additionally, there were cucumbers, onions, carrots and tomatoes. This was sweet, fresh and flavorful. Unfortunately nothing I ordered was very good. Because of the disappointing Spring Rolls I probably wouldn't return here again.

We've ordered takeout from here but this was our first time eating in . We were pleasantly greeted when we came in. Cozy atmosphere which was nice. Our server was awesome(wish I remembered his name). So my husband and I both had the Coconut soup, it was delicious, a slight spice to it and chock full I've veggies (you also have the option of choosing a protein). Both of us had the hot Thai tea as well, perfect on a chilly evening. We didn't do any appetizers (next time). I had chicken Pad Thai and my husband had Green Curry. Everything was excellent and the portions were great, we both had lunch the next day. Absolutely recommend!! Great date night place for sure! Definitely accommodating for large parties and family friendly. Check it out!! We will be back soon.

If you took the odds as suggested in my prior review that we would be ordering the same entrees in the not too distant future, I want to congratulate you on your win. We did indeed order those very same entrees with the only exception being that we requested grilled shrimp on both the pad Thai and hot basil. The food was as good as expected and there were sufficient leftovers to provide us with dinner the following night. There was an interesting and positive change on their part in the form of an extra, number 8, added to each entree. I chose not to send back our orders nor voice a complaint. :)

Best Thai food in CT! The staff is amazing and the food is delectable. I highly recommend the Pad Si Ew and Duck dishes.

Just had take out for lunch today with my entire company. I had the chicken larb with sticky rice and it was probably the best I've had. The flavors were perfectly complimented. Im so glad seven moons is so close to my house, as they will become my new go to for Lao/Thai. Next time I'm having the drunken noodles. One of my coworkers let me try his and it was equally delicious! Thanks Seven Moons for a yummy lunch!

This was our second time eating here. The first time we did a take out order and really loved the food, so we decided to eat in today. The restaurant is small but quaint and dimly lit inside. They have a big screen tv Or you can choose to sit behind a partition to enjoy dinner without the TV. This location in the center of Berlin was formally Ramen Ya. Cute place for a date night also. Okay, now on to the food! So if you have never had the curry puffs here, I highly recommend them, they are so good. They remind me of mini empanadas but the filling is soft and very flavorful. Next, I think I just ate the best chicken wings I've ever had in my life. Thai chicken wings, I need them in my life! I'll say it again, get the Thai Chicken wings you won't be disappointed! Tonight I ordered the Mango Fried Rice with Crispy Chicken. I'm a sucker for anything mango, but It really was excellent. My son ordered the Thai Fried rice with pork and devoured every grain of rice. The brown dipping sauce that came with the wings was so good we asked for more to accompany our crispy chicken entrees - - it was that good. Definitely a must, to stop in if you haven't been to Seven Moons. I'm so glad we did!!! Always get a Thai iced tea, they make it the best!!! Staff is always courteous and friendly.

I'm fond of saying that, living in Newington, I cover 8 towns' worth of food with a 10-15 minute drive. Truth is, I've never counted the towns or timed the drives, but that seems about right. Perhaps the most underrepresented such town in my reviews is Berlin. I'm fixing that this year. I'm hittin' Berlin hard. What's that New Britain? "Hard-hittin" is kind of your thing? Sorry. Stop 1 of the Year -- Seven Moons ("SM"). SM is in the Farmington Ave business district of Berlin. The restaurant is pleasant. Although it has some nice touches decor-wise, I wouldn't say the decor is a selling point. Service was friendly and prompt. The food was decent. I ordered the lunch special consisting of Vegetable Tom Yum soup, crab Rangoon and shrimp Pad Thai. The Pad Thai lacked the balance of flavors and the appearance of my favorite Pad Thai. The Tamarind flavor was really prominent. I would have preferred more salinity. I also would have enjoyed more color and texture variety. There was a lot of tan or yellow type colors and a lot of soft textures. Some carrots, more bean sprouts, more green onions, cilantro, etc. would have mixed things up a bit. The shrimp were cooked well though. The Tom Yum Soup was a highlight. The veggies were crispy and colorful. The broth had good flavor. The crab Rangoon filling had a chunkier texture than most places. You could really notice the crab (I'm assuming it's imitation crab, but I don't know) in the filling. Based on this visit, I prefer other Thai options that are closer to me. But they have many other food options that perhaps I would have connected better with. Given the 4.5 Yelp Star rating, SM clearly has their share of supporters. Three Stars.

So I ordered some Crispy Thai Chicken Wings and oh man. My new favorite place to get them. So full of flavor, excellemt seasoning, crispy, meaty, properly cooked, everything I could have ever wanted in a Thai Chicken Wing. They were so good I just had to jump right into it in this review. Upon entering through the front door, you immediately recognize what you signed up for. A family owned business. This I support. I noticed the staff recognizing plenty of people both eating I and taking out. It's like we're all part of a family if you come here enough. That's always a good sign. The restaurant itself was squeaky clean. Constantly wiping down tables and nothing looked out of place. Much appreciated during times like this. Moving on, I always test the waters by ordering one of my favorite noodle dishes (Beef Pad See Eew) and Pad Thai. Overall I'd say it went pretty well! Their portion sizes were pretty great! I see other people saying the same thing. The Pad Thai supported that theory as I was barely able to finish it which is not normal for me. Same with the Pad See Eew! Sometimes I feel like I get a lackluster portion but here at Seven Moons, I don't get that feeling. For both dishes, the beef was cooked nicely, everything was nice and savory. Full of flavor, great texture on the noodles, nothing seems to be lacking. When I imagine a nice comfortable plate of Beef Pad See Eew, the one I was served here comes to mind. My favorite Thai restaurants hit the points. Quality food, good portions and family oriented. It's hard to not like Thai food so I keep my observations simple. What more can I say? It's another great Thai Restaurant. But don't forget to try their wings. Absolutely scrumptious. It's the type of wings where if you're sharing them trying to keep it even between everyone in terms of how many you all get, just lie and say you only had one but in reality you had 3. If they get suspicious just grab the last wing before it's gone. Alright that's enough. I'm hung up over their wings. They must be pretty decent.

I walked into a space where the owners were warm and engaged in a way that came through consistently, and the restaurant had the feel of a place run with real investment in what comes out of the kitchen. The pho is the centerpiece and it earns that position. I tried the broth, which was light and clean, built with depth rather than heaviness, and the beef was tender throughout. The short rib and oxtail versions are the ones to order when available, and the brisket is the reliable fallback when they are not. The rare steak and tendon option is worth trying for anyone who wants to go further into the menu. I also ordered the pork vermicelli bowl, another strong choice, with well seasoned pork and fresh vegetables that held up against the noodle base. It came with a spring roll component that added to the overall value of the dish. The banh mi was flavorful and well assembled, and the fresh rolls were worth ordering alongside whatever else I got. Vietnamese iced coffee and Thai tea were both solid and complemented the food well. Service was friendly, and the owners were visibly present and genuinely hospitable. The restaurant accommodates families well, with the kitchen going out of its way on small details like kid friendly utensils and high chairs that make the experience easier for parents. It is BYOB with a package store in the same plaza. Offers your traditional Thai fare with Laotian dishes as well. It has a mixture of Southeast Asian cuisine (Thai, Laos, Vietnamese). How do I know? Well, I'm Laotian. I may a bit of harsh critic due to eating authentic Lao/Thai food my entire life. Got the beef pho with all the fixings minus the rice noodles. Without the rice noodles it still cost the same so I should've just asked for it on the side. It was okay. 5/10 Chicken laab was decent but lacked authentic bit of flavor. They told us they could make pork laab but if you look at my two photos, they look identical. The "pork laab" tasted like bacon. It seemed like they just cooked the ground chicken in bacon grease and called it pork. I did tell the chef it was greasy and my thoughts and her response was, "It's pork, of course it's greasy." Okay, but you cooked it in bacon grease and tried to fool me. Pork laab 1/10. Chicken 3/10. Papaya salad cones Thai or Lao style. I asked for Lao style because I want the extra fermented fish sauce funk that I love. It had some shredded carrots and medium spice was great for me. They served it with ice berg lettuce wedge but I asked for cabbage (authentic way to eat it). Flavor was good. 6/10 Seafood rad Ma (lad na) was mediocre. Bay scallops and calamari were overcooked. Flavor lacked and was bland, even after I dressed it up. Shrimp was cooked perfectly. I prefer no muscles but there was plenty and only Chinese broccoli as the only vegetable in the dish. It would've been nice to see carrots in it too. 4/10. I ordered two identical dishes of this and I was charged two different prices; $18 & $19. Look at your receipt! The star of the show was the beef jerky and fried chicken wings! They were phenomenal and I'd probably only order the two apps with sticky rice again. 10/10 Ambiance is great. Decor is beautiful as they left it from the previous owners. Clean, average noise level.
