I loveeee when food tastes like it's supposed to, and this place delivered The authenticity? On point. The drunken noodles had real flavor and actual spice--thank you for not watering it down! You can tell they stayed true to the dish, and I appreciated that. The duck roll was good overall. I personally would've liked the sauce on the side and the wrap a bit thinner, but flavor-wise it was definitely there. The winter shrimp was solid too--nothing that blew me away, but still good. My wife, two sons (20 yrs, 18 yrs), and I enjoyed a superb Thai dinner on a Saturday evening at 6:00pm in early July 2026. We found this cute place based on Yelp reviews. First, the home-style dishes feel very authentic and you can customize the spice level according to your own preference. I devoured the prik king with chicken and my wife was delighted to enjoy the drunken noodles with shrimp. Second, this stand-alone restaurant has a cozy interior with 3 or 4 tables. Third, the service was great for dine-in service. The owner stopped by to ask for feedback on the dishes (which were excellent with a spice level of "1"). . She shared the importance of "9" in Thai culture as a word for growth and prosperity. The restaurant was opened on July 29, 2022 and is located at 29 Broad Street. The gentleman who answered warned me the drunken noodles had a kick, and when I mentioned I love spice, he made sure to include plenty of chili oils with my order. Maybe it was an off day for them as the pictures looked great... but not so much for mine. The pad see ew taste bitter/burnt, was greasy and not sweet at all. It's my favorite Thai dish so I was really disappointed. The scallion pancakes were absolutely delicious. If I was rate only the scallion pancakes it would be a 5 star review. Loaded with scallions and I'm pretty sure they're homemade. The wonton soup was pretty good, the broth was really tasty and I loved that it had a a lot of veggies in it. I recently tried Thai Kitchen 29 for the first time. I'll never forget that name. I first had Thai food at a restaurant named Thai Kitchen and my birthday falls on the 29th. So it's fitting that I loved TK29, and I plan on returning to explore the menu. I sometimes refer to my style of choosing restaurants as the Contrarian Play. In this case, TK29 is a Thai restaurant located in New Britain's Little Poland area. It's small, well-loved and personalized to reflect things important to the owner. I know that because she talked with me for about 5 minutes. Very friendly and proud of her roots. They have a small, but comfortable dining area. I think they probably have a healthy takeout business and I noticed that they're on DoorDash as well. I ordered the Roti and the Green Curry with mixed seafood. Roti is like a thick crepe cut in the shape of quesadilla pieces. It came with a red curry for dipping and it was well balanced and delicious. The Green Curry may have been the best I've had, although I usually order yellow curry. It had great thickness and balanced flavors. Spicy, but not too spicy. The seafood included shrimp, squid rings and mussels. The squid rings were tender. The shrimp was medium sized. It was good quality, but could have been a touch less cooked. The mussels were long and good. The vegetables included red and green bell peppers, bamboo shoots and Thai Basil. All fresh with good color. The owner also gave me a free Thai Coffee when I told her it was my first visit. It had great color and was delicious. Five Stars. Thai Kitchen 29 is definitely in the mix for my fav Thai restaurant within 30 minutes of my home. I just need to explore more of the menu. The owner recommended that I try the Pad Thai and Basil Fried Rice on future visits, which she described as more authentically Thai than most versions I would see in the area. read more

I googled the best Thai in the area and this restaurant was by far the best! I ordered take out with my parents so we had a wide variety of dishes. My favorite was the pineapple fried rice. I also ordered the chicken pad see ew which was good but the chicken was very dry. My parents ordered the massaman curry which was a delicious taste of coconut along with a ginger shrimp dish and pork fried rice. With only 3 tables, so positioned to be more of a take out place, the ambiance is sitting in your aunties kitchen while she cooks the food she grew up with. They were delivered in less than the estimated time (45 min.) by one of the owners. He was incredibly friendly and appreciative of the business. He even showed up with 4 free drinks (iced teas)! We started off with some Thai Tea which was delicious. For an appetizer we got the crab Rangoons and Roti Canai. The Rangoons were crispy and came with a great sweet and sour sauce, but the star of the show was the Roti. It was flakey and buttery and came with a curry sauce that was so good I placed a second order of it to go. One of the owners pointed out that they can prepare the food to your spice preference or give you the sauce to make it as spicy as you want. My husband ordered the Red Curry with chicken and shrimp. I had the wonton noodle soup with chicken and shrimp. The broth was seasoned to perfection. Veggies in the soup still had a little crunch which was nice and the chicken wontons had so much flavor. While passing through New Britain CT this weekend I came across an incredible Thai restaurant. Being from the Boston Ma. area I am used to eating great food cooked by great chef's but this is a Small restaurant ( only 4 tables) owned by a wonderful woman and her family and staff. They all came out to welcome us and explain everything dish. The owner explained that she has been here for under 10 years and cooks from memory of years spent in Thailand cooking with her Grandmother. Everything is homemade! The menu was extensive with many different dishes from other Thai restaurants. I had Cashew chicken with vegetables so delicious. The promised return visit happened last night, but it proved to be a disappointing experience. I ordered online, receiving a 5% discount, Pad Thai with shrimp and spicy eggplant with chicken. I was a bit surprised that there was no option for requesting a spice level particularly with respect to the spicy eggplant. My order was packaged and waiting for me on entering. On opening the containers at home I immediately noticed the portion size of the eggplant was smaller than remembered with only 2 pieces of Japanese eggplant in the entire dish. We placed a large order for Thanksgiving and everything was accurate. Which is quite rare, to be honest. The star dish was red curry, so flavorful.
