I loveeee when food tastes like it's supposed to, and this place delivered The authenticity? On point. The drunken noodles had real flavor and actual spice--thank you for not watering it down! You can tell they stayed true to the dish, and I appreciated that. The duck roll was good overall. I personally would've liked the sauce on the side and the wrap a bit thinner, but flavor-wise it was definitely there. The winter shrimp was solid too--nothing that blew me away, but still good. I didn't come for the ambiance, but it still gave a nice cultural vibe. Service was smooth--I called in my order and they answered right away, no issues at all. I'll definitely be back because there are a few more things on the menu I've got my eye on read more

Amazing food. Great flavors. Beautiful dishes. Friendly service. Great relationship with their customers Hole in the wall--the best kind. Able to deal with nut and sesame allergy. Chef/cook knew what had already gone into the oil and cooks the food to order. It's all fresh and beautiful! Drunken noodle Well seasoned. Large and generous chunks of vegetable. Chicken was tender. 5/5 Fried rice with duck. Tender duck. Well seasoned dish. Generous chunks of vegetables. Tender rice. Just the right consistency. 10/5. Kid said that's the best duck dish he's had. And we're never going to find a duck dish better than that. (Agree in white america this is prob the best duck we've had. Including the more shi-shi restaurants and local Chinese restaurants. Disagree that we will not find the equal somewhere.) Red snapper with honey sauce. 5/5. Beautiful. Generous portion. Strawberry bubble tea 5/5 Chicken dumplings 5/5. Good sauce. Pretty vegetable Garnish. Tasty dumplings. Small place. Only 3 tables and few seats along the front window. They didn't have a larger table open. Some regular customers actually love the owners so much that they moved to the window seating so we could sit together as a family. And said we needed to really enjoy our meal as it would be amazing. And it was!!! Amazing! Now the gold standard for restaurants. We're going to have to drive to Connecticut to get the best Thai??! 10/5. Highly recommend!! Eat here!!! Or get it to go!!! read more

My wife, two sons (20 yrs, 18 yrs), and I enjoyed a superb Thai dinner on a Saturday evening at 6:00pm in early July 2026. We found this cute place based on Yelp reviews. First, the home-style dishes feel very authentic and you can customize the spice level according to your own preference. I devoured the prik king with chicken and my wife was delighted to enjoy the drunken noodles with shrimp. Second, this stand-alone restaurant has a cozy interior with 3 or 4 tables. Third, the service was great for dine-in service. The owner stopped by to ask for feedback on the dishes (which were excellent with a spice level of "1"). . She shared the importance of "9" in Thai culture as a word for growth and prosperity. The restaurant was opened on July 29, 2022 and is located at 29 Broad Street. We would strongly recommend this restaurant if you are visiting New Britain, CT or traveling through the area. They have a robust take-out service as well. read more

Hole-in-the-wall Thai restaurant with absolutely delicious food The place only has 3 small tables, but they have a very large menu of authentic dishes I came here with my fiance and my parents and we split a variety of dishes for dinner. The owners are extremely friendly, and they gave both me and my fiance a free Thai iced coffee to bring home since it was our first time visiting Dishes are very large! Seems like they have a booming take-out business read more

I decided to give this place a try after struggling to find a consistently good Thai spot and I'm so glad I did. The gentleman who answered warned me the drunken noodles had a kick, and when I mentioned I love spice, he made sure to include plenty of chili oils with my order. When I arrived he walked me through each sauce and welcomed me with a complimentary Thai tea, which was absolutely delicious. The drunken noodles were some of the best I've ever had. Flavorful, loaded with veggies and beef, and still packing that satisfying heat. This feels like a family run spot that genuinely cares about their food and customers. I'll definitely be back. read more

Excellent food. You will not be disappointed. The red curry and eggplant is perfectly spicy. My friend ordered the special soup and raved about it. Wonderful service. The chef owns and operates the restaurant herself. She came out to wish us a happy Thai New Year! Don't let the simple appearance fool you; this is a great restaurant with a friendly team and very delicious Thai food! read more

Tried the Thai basil with beef, was delicious. Quality, fresh ingredients. Cooked spicy - as requested. Will be back!

Ordered the pad see ew and Massaman curry. Both were excellent. Owner gave us a Thai iced tea on the house which was awesome!

Unfortunately it wasn't the experience I was looking forward to. Wanted to try someplace new and saw this place had great reviews. Maybe it was an off day for them as the pictures looked great... but not so much for mine. The pad see ew taste bitter/burnt, was greasy and not sweet at all. It's my favorite Thai dish so I was really disappointed. The scallion pancakes were absolutely delicious. If I was rate only the scallion pancakes it would be a 5 star review. Loaded with scallions and I'm pretty sure they're homemade. The wonton soup was pretty good, the broth was really tasty and I loved that it had a a lot of veggies in it. The chicken in the wontons was a little tough. Not sure if they're frozen or fresh but they just fell apart when reheated. It was a pint for $9 which I thought was a little much. read more

I recently tried Thai Kitchen 29 for the first time. I'll never forget that name. I first had Thai food at a restaurant named Thai Kitchen and my birthday falls on the 29th. So it's fitting that I loved TK29, and I plan on returning to explore the menu. I sometimes refer to my style of choosing restaurants as the Contrarian Play. In this case, TK29 is a Thai restaurant located in New Britain's Little Poland area. It's small, well-loved and personalized to reflect things important to the owner. I know that because she talked with me for about 5 minutes. Very friendly and proud of her roots. They have a small, but comfortable dining area. I think they probably have a healthy takeout business and I noticed that they're on DoorDash as well. I ordered the Roti and the Green Curry with mixed seafood. Roti is like a thick crepe cut in the shape of quesadilla pieces. It came with a red curry for dipping and it was well balanced and delicious. The Green Curry may have been the best I've had, although I usually order yellow curry. It had great thickness and balanced flavors. Spicy, but not too spicy. The seafood included shrimp, squid rings and mussels. The squid rings were tender. The shrimp was medium sized. It was good quality, but could have been a touch less cooked. The mussels were long and good. The vegetables included red and green bell peppers, bamboo shoots and Thai Basil. All fresh with good color. The owner also gave me a free Thai Coffee when I told her it was my first visit. It had great color and was delicious. Five Stars. Thai Kitchen 29 is definitely in the mix for my fav Thai restaurant within 30 minutes of my home. I just need to explore more of the menu. The owner recommended that I try the Pad Thai and Basil Fried Rice on future visits, which she described as more authentically Thai than most versions I would see in the area. read more

I googled the best Thai in the area and this restaurant was by far the best! I ordered take out with my parents so we had a wide variety of dishes. My favorite was the pineapple fried rice. I also ordered the chicken pad see ew which was good but the chicken was very dry. My parents ordered the massaman curry which was a delicious taste of coconut along with a ginger shrimp dish and pork fried rice. We also ordered the chicken dumplings that were amazing as well as the vegetable spring rolls. My dad said the restaurant is very small and didn't have many tables so I can't comment on the ambiance. But they were fast and affordable and I will definitely be back! read more

Amazing!!! What a hidden gem of a restaurant. With only 3 tables, so positioned to be more of a take out place, the ambiance is sitting in your aunties kitchen while she cooks the food she grew up with. This Thai restaurant is much more authentic than most. Stronger flavors and cooked more traditionally. No American-thai here. The food was vibrant and delicious. We came for lunch and the pricing and portion sizes were perfect. Highly recommend this little place as your next food order!!! read more

Definition of perfection, cook really knows what they are doing and it shows in the quality, taste, and presentation I've had the drunken noodles, calamari and the pao wings so far all top notch but the calamari -- best I've ever had and I've had here in the US and Europe truly unbelievable a place like this exits in New Britain read more

Incredible service and amazing food made for such a great dining experience! It's a hole in the wall spot with just a few tables but the owners make you feel so welcomed. We started off with some Thai Tea which was delicious. For an appetizer we got the crab Rangoons and Roti Canai. The Rangoons were crispy and came with a great sweet and sour sauce, but the star of the show was the Roti. It was flakey and buttery and came with a curry sauce that was so good I placed a second order of it to go. One of the owners pointed out that they can prepare the food to your spice preference or give you the sauce to make it as spicy as you want. My husband ordered the Red Curry with chicken and shrimp. I had the wonton noodle soup with chicken and shrimp. The broth was seasoned to perfection. Veggies in the soup still had a little crunch which was nice and the chicken wontons had so much flavor. They have an expansive menu and I cant wait to try some of their other dishes. It's not a matter of if we will be back, it's when we'll be back. read more

While passing through New Britain CT this weekend I came across an incredible Thai restaurant. Being from the Boston Ma. area I am used to eating great food cooked by great chef's but this is a Small restaurant ( only 4 tables) owned by a wonderful woman and her family and staff. They all came out to welcome us and explain everything dish. The owner explained that she has been here for under 10 years and cooks from memory of years spent in Thailand cooking with her Grandmother. Everything is homemade! The menu was extensive with many different dishes from other Thai restaurants. I had Cashew chicken with vegetables so delicious. The pad Thai was incredible , but the Pumpkin Curry was the most incredible dish I have ever had. Don't judge this restaurant by its size it's AMAZING read more

The promised return visit happened last night, but it proved to be a disappointing experience. I ordered online, receiving a 5% discount, Pad Thai with shrimp and spicy eggplant with chicken. I was a bit surprised that there was no option for requesting a spice level particularly with respect to the spicy eggplant. My order was packaged and waiting for me on entering. On opening the containers at home I immediately noticed the portion size of the eggplant was smaller than remembered with only 2 pieces of Japanese eggplant in the entire dish. This being the first time trying pad Thai, I was happy with the quantity, but disappointed on realizing the offering offered minimal flavor. read more

Thai Kitchen 29 - Shrimp pad Thai - Thai Near Me - New Britain, Connecticut

Great Thai food and nice people. Mostly a takeout place, dining area is super small with only a few tables.

We placed a large order for Thanksgiving and everything was accurate. Which is quite rare, to be honest. The star dish was red curry, so flavorful. The noodle dishes were perfectly cooked, noodles were not overcooked. Another dish that stood out was mussels appetizer. So full of flavor. And everyone loved Tom yum fried rice. We got two iced teas as a thank you for a large order. Wonderful service, delicious food. read more

Driving home from work I noticed this new Thai place had opened up. I see a new spot in the neighborhood and I'm on it! It's a small spot with a few tables to dine inside. I will start off saying the spicy calamari app was outstanding I could have eaten another order. Onion ring sized tender calamari with an amazing crunch that I'm going to dream about. The devils seafood was spicy with fresh ingredients and great flavor. My wife said the pad Thai with shrimp was a 10 out of 10. They have a nice menu and we will be back to try the curry dishes. read more
