The Las Tortas appears to be a smaller menu than their other location but still good food options. The Froth have a few breakfast options, breakfast sandwiches are already made and kept warm and it looks like they have a few bakery options. Slice had lots of by the slice options to buy as well. There was a pretty good amount of seating , only a few people eating there when we went. Fowl play have had at other locations and their spicy chicken/ waffles is very good and offer varying levels of spice. Parking nearby is metered/garage, though we went on a Sunday when it was free. We happened to find this place by chance because we were at the Celebrate New Britain event. The interior was spacious, clean, and inviting. There were plenty of seating, tables, and couches. A pool table is available for use. The service, collectively, was great. First, we got coffee at Froth Cafe. Then we imbibed on some drinks at The Bar. If you're hungry, they have a few vendors serving up some delicious food: Loko Burrito: delicious Mexican fare Las Tortas MX: also delicious Mexican fare Fowl Play: fried chicken spot. I've had food from their Parkville location and it was delicious. Event space is also available to rent; $375 room minimum (not including food and drinks.) Decided to pop in as we were at Alvirium and they gave us a card to check out assembly room. I love when places do this as it supports other small businesses. We went to the bar first, grabbed a few drinks, ordered one of each tamale to split, they were amazing. It's a food court or a food hall that either has 4 or 6 vendors inside, depending if you count the Torta-Fowl Play-Burrito Loko counter as one place or three. When you enter the premises you'll see a gorgeous bar that looks like it was transported from the Park Plaza in Boston - seriously, it is beautiful. On the other side of the bar is a nice coffee shop and bakery. Walk down to the back of the space and you'll pass The Industrial Kitchen - a Salvadoran food stand on your right. Keep walking and you'll hit the big counter where those three businesses share space. I had wanted to go to the Industrial Kitchen, but when I walked there the place was unattended and I couldn't even tell if they were open or closed. Instead, we walked down to Burrito Loko for a quesadilla and tacos. The Assembly Room has plenty of space to hang out, and I saw folks chilling at the coffee bar, working on their laptops, playing pool, or having a few mid-day pops at the bar. Have been here a few times and I definitely recommend it. Love the concept of it, don't know how to describe it but there's no other like it. They do have some options for food just wish the vendors would stay open a little later. Space is nice and clean. Kind of wish they'd have the windows tinted, lighting towards the front is a little too bright for a "bar" setting. If you've been thinking about going I recommend it! Came here on a Saturday night around 6pm and it was surprisingly empty. We were able to find 5 seats at the bar and ordered a few rounds of drinks. While the drinks were good, they were pricey. We ordered charcuterie, which initially came out with the wrong cheese. It was good overall, but small portions considering the price. For my dinner, I ordered the steak panini. By the time it came out, everyone I was with was done eating their food. Apparently the printer was out of ink and the kitchen never received my order. Once the panini came out, it was pretty disappointing. It wasn't really a panini, more like a sandwich on lightly toasted bread. The flavor was okay, and the piece of steak was very tiny. A new britain gem! I had jury duty and they sent us for an hour lunch, so I took the time to finally check out The Assembly Room. The vibe here is so refreshing, I can't believe it took me to long to visit. The bar area is super cute and there are quite a few spots to purchase food from. I got a pastrami panini from Industrial Kitchen, which was made fresh and brought over to where I was sitting. On the way out, I grabbed some banana bread (to die for) from Froth. I'd love to try their coffee next time! I think this is a perfect spot for lunch in the area and makes for a great date spot! It's honestly just a cool place to hang out! read more

Finally made it to the Assembly Room! What a beautiful space. It's nice and bright, modern open space with a few grays places to grab a bite and/ or drink. It has a pool Area , music, DJ on Saturday night as well. The food court closes at 10 and hr bar stays open . Met my friends on a Friday night and bump into other people I knew! It was just a great vibe. So we did grab some drinks and hung out by the bar . Then we graba place to sit and had some food. We all Ordered something different. My friends ordered Nachos and I had tostones which they really weren't tostones. I'd say they were more like plantain chips. The pico de gallo was very good but I guess I was expecting actually tostones. I also had Pulpo Al Olivio from Nikkos. It was delicious!! I wish hey had sweets! I was craving something sweet and it was very limited. I was able to get fruit with a chocolate fondue. We were also saddened that Miel closes early in the day and isnt open during the evening. The Assembly Room is a gorgeous new Food Hall opening in the heart of downtown New Britain. It's smaller, but it seems to have a bit of Parkville Market running through its veins. Creole BBQ is owned by the Mofongo Owners and had a soft opening on 11/11/12. My shrimp and grits from Creole BBQ was very good. Three vendors, Fowl Play (a hot chicken restaurant), Burrito Loko (a TexMex place specializing in bowls and burritos) and Las Tortas MX (specializing in tacos and Tortas), are all located in Parkville Market and in The Assembly Room. In addition to these four places, there is a sushi and ceviche place called Nikko. Also, The Assembly Room will be home to a bar called The Industrial. The Food Hall is long and attractive. Great wood floors. High ceilings. Nice tables throughout. Some brick and some painted walls. I think The Assembly Room is a great and promising addition to Downtown New Britain. The Grand Opening for at least some of these restaurants and The Assembly Room is Friday 11/12/21. But based upon my visit today for the Soft Opening of Creole BBQ, the awesome open space and cool-looking bar, the restaurant concepts and the energy in the Building today, I'm starting The Assembly Room with a 5 Star Review, at least until I sample more of the food. read more

I've been about 6 times, and the atmosphere is exactly why I keep going back. They also offer the opportunity to host private events. The owner is always so welcoming and the bartenders are so knowledgeable and always so accommodating. Since it is a food hall, there are 2 food vendors and a small coffee/treat shop inside. So glad we stopped here after a trip to New Britain Museum of American Art. It's 1/2 mile away and was such a great find! It's a huge space which was basically empty when we got there at 2. The front is a well stocked bar, but we were only interested in food so we headed to the back . The choices were variety of fried chicken, or Mexican dishes. I ordered the taco salad. Honestly it was one of the best I have ever had! It came in a freshly made tortilla bowl with generous portions of guacamole, ground beef, cheese and beans. There is a coffee spot (cute), something that hinted at Dominican(?) that also did paninis and bougie-er charcuterie/fondue. A huge Mexican spot and a Peruvian -Japanese sushi cevicheria called Nikko. We stopped at the very impressive bar but were ignored by a bartender for a little bit with their back to the bar. Not welcoming but got us our two beers. It was Sat lunch so maybe they weren't expecting customers? Not a big deal. Since we peeked ahead at vendor menus we went with Nikko. We ordered Causa encevicha , kind of like a terrine of mashed yellow potato with lime/hot peppers, layered with avocado and then topped with mahi mahi ceviche and finely shaved red onion. This was SUPERB. My parents are Peruvian and this dish was executed perfectly My companion had the spicy tuna poke bowl, again impeccably fresh fish, really good texture and flavors. We would order again from here in a minute! Super nice folks working here. This is an excellent addition to downtown New Britain, parking on a Saturday afternoon was easy and free. To start off, this brick exposed bar was gorgeous with dim lighting and all leather chair stools that were really comfortable and could make stay put all night! Especially with the amazing drinks flowing, i definitely considered it! Also, Pedro at the bar is phenomenal, and all the drinks were amazing! The watermelon margarita was my favorite and so pretty. It had a black lava salt rim, and they used a jalapeño infused tequila to give this margarita the perfect flavor! All the drinks were appealing and delightful. After a few cocktails, we visited the food vendors in the back of the hall. I ordered the crispy fish tacos and Birria tacos from Las tortas MX. It came with 2 tacos topped with fresh guacamole, Chipotle mayo, and slaw, and the birria tacos were filled with meat cheese onions and cilantro. They were all awesome! The fireplace was on and so beautiful and cozy. We sat at the couches after we ate to digest a bit and then headed back to the bar for the best espresso martinis. The hall also had a coffee station called Miel that looked interesting but was not open during my visit. Also, there was a separate private area with closed doors for events or parties, which I thought was cool. For entertainment, they had a pool table in the back, and I heard a dj plays on Saturday nights. The space was very cool. Warm yet industrial. A few nooks to hang out, a pool table, some couches and decorative chairs along with some tables/chairs to actually sit and eat at. You order your food from your desired eatery and then sit at the table of your choice. We ordered from the restaurant in the back (3 different 'restaurants' in 1). We got the Birria tacos, which were decent. The red sauce was lacking in flavor in my opinion but the taco itself/meat was delicious. The nachos were really yummy. We had chicken on them. It was a pretty big serving and really delicious. We also got mild tenders and fries for our little one. 3 decent (but not huge) sized chicken strips - lots of tender white meat with a nice light breading served with very basic crinkle fries. Fine for my 3 year old but really nothing that special. My husband got one of the chicken sandwiches (medium in heat) with coleslaw on it - he thought it was really good. Nice amount of heat. We ordered 3 drinks from the bar - 2 basic margaritas and the Mar Y Sol. It was $35 which I thought was a tad high for what we got. Margs were fine but nothing special. The Mar Y Sol was delicious. It's located inside "The Assembly Room" along with a sushi place, a bar, and a couple American food restaurants. There is ample seating and chill vibes, which makes it a great place to get together with friends, or sit in a corner on one of the comfortable couches and study with coffee in hand. Customer service was great, the coffee even better, and I love that they sell bags of coffee that donate proceeds to nonprofits. Located at 222 Main Street, its made up of a nice and classy Bar called The Industrial and Man when i say a Bar I mean A Bar. With Beautiful Bartenders Ready to serve, I asked for a Red Death and a Kamikaze and they had it. I haven't had them in over 30 years! Definitely brought back some memories of the clubs I was djing at when I was first introduced to these drinks. Next up is nikko, a upscale sushi Bar with all the fish you desire. Now that isn't my cup of Tea, but I see alot of sushi passing by my DJ Booth. After that my favorite the Creole BBQ Restaurant. They have a creole chicken and Waffles that is to die for especially once you add the Honey Butter he gives you on the side. Now the make and cheese, made with gooda cheese, cheddar cheese and a little bit of sour cream its to die for! There is a pulled pork sandwich made with this mac and cheese a definitely must Try. Last but not least and Mexican restaurants which has nachos and tacos and even there twist on Chicken and Waffles.
