The food is great and the service is friendly and great. Warning - the place is really small! Very limited seating, and it's tight. I went during the winter while it was still cold, and every time that door opened or closed, it was brutal! Now that it's warm, I'll have to return for a better experience. My friend and I shared an order of the strawberry and banana pancakes. They were fluffy and topped with sooo much fruit. I ordered the California Benedict. I loved it. She ordered an omelette. Both came with your choice of bread for toast and homefries. I really liked that the fries were not greasy at all! I heard that they have a patio during the warmer months, so that is nice to hear. Wonderful, cozy and delicious breakfast! The homemade chorizo has the right amount of heat, I had it in the Mexican scramble served with refried beans, rice and corn tortilla. Hubs had it in an omelette with home fries and gluten free toast. We traveled west across the Connecticut river to try Robs in Plainville for breakfast. It's a solid 4 and for locals, I'm sure a go to place for folks there. If you happen to be driving by- try it. To come a distance specifically for a meal there- not really worth the drive. Small, clean place. Server/workers there really nice & friendly. Good coffee ( that's important to me as I don't drink much coffee & when I have it, I want it to be good). Very reasonable prices. My husband had scrambled eggs (portion was 2 eggs I think). I had a cheese omelette (2 eggs too?) Both ok/good. They have a 'secret' menu featuring Mexican specialities. Our breakfast today was amazing. The morning was cool but warm enough to sit outside and enjoy the fresh air. Our server, Maggie, came right over and greeted us. She was friendly and enthusiastic. More importantly, she was prompt and efficient. She timed her visits perfectly and took our drink orders and delivered them quickly. Our orders were taken and brought out amazingly fast. Everything we had on the table was excellent without exception. The three orders of crepes were stuffed, the fruit cups were fresh and overflowing. My omelet was perfect. The corned beef hash inside was done just right and the potatoes were crisp on the outside and creamy on the inside. My granddaughter summed it up after we left. She said, "We must come here again. The authenticity of their Mexican cuisine and the classic American breakfast dishes were far superior to most places in town. The Route 10 burrito was simply the best I've had in a very long time. Fresh! That's what I can say about Rob's Kitchen. We ordered two different omelets, some bacon and some homemade corned beef hash. Everything tasted really fresh and nothing was greasy at all. The omelets were both really good. Perfectly cooked and assembled. Again, fresh tasting and no grease at all. Eggs were fluffy and ingredients very tasty. The side of bacon was not fantastic. Mediocre bacon which was overcooked. Could have done better on the bacon. Lastly, the home fries were good. Fresh and tasty if not just a little bland. Nothing a little salt and pepper didn't take care of. Rob's hit the spot today and I also noticed that they do lunches too! Would like to try one of their burgers next time! Just discovered this place with a friend last week and had to bring my spouse there a few days later. I would have expected lines out the door and crazy wait times, but for my two visits, the place was full and people just kept moving. We had no trouble getting seated right away, even in the weekend. It was rainy for my first visit (on a weekend) so everyone was indoors, but the second visit allowed us to choose indoors or outdoors (great weather for second visit/weekday). It all starts with the people-- we were greeted with a huge smile and the server each time was helpful as we sought to navigate the many choices and specials. Visit #1 was simple-- I went for the early bird #3 which featured (for me) French toast, eggs, bacon, and coffee for 8:95 all in. Who could go wrong? We were served quickly and everything was as ordered. Classic breakfast. Visit number two was where the chorizo comes into play. Rob's Kitchen has multiple offerings that feature chorizo. For our visit, we went for the Route 10 Special -- and omelet starring the chorizo. Flavorful without being too spicy. The salsa did have a little kick to it, though. On our search for a new breakfast spot we stumbled upon Robs in Plainville. It's a small spot with some nice outdoor seating. I ordered the philly cheese steak omelette and my wife got eggs benny we also got a side of the house made corned beef hash. The food is outstanding it's not that greasy diner breakfast type. The homemade corned beef has is my favorite of all time and the home fries were perfect with a nice little crisp to them. I was recently in Bristol, CT and decided to go to Rob's Kitchen based on the reviews I saw. This place is great! It's a quaint diner in a nice location. I love the outside setup they have - tables & benches with umbrellas and beautiful flowers. The service was stellar! Our server was Maggie and she was just great! Quick with drinks.. and food was delicious! There was another gentleman helping and I pray his name was Antonio (I apologize to him if it isn't) but he was also amazing. One thing I always do in restaurants is address employees who speak Spanish in their language. I think it shows them care and compassion. He immediately lit up when I spoke to him in Spanish. My husband and I went there this morning to have breakfast. Food was average and a little pricey. We ordered some empanadas off the menu $11 for 2, and they we did not like them. We kindly told the waitress and she removed them from the table and handed us our bill minutes after. Bill came back and empanadas were added onto our total. Waitress said owner refused to take empanadas off the bill, she told us owner said it wasn't her problem that we did not like them. We paid the bill, but will not be coming back. Thought that was really messed up, especially because we barely touched them and notified waitress immediately.
