I decided to give this place a try after struggling to find a consistently good Thai spot and I'm so glad I did. The gentleman who answered warned me the drunken noodles had a kick, and when I mentioned I love spice, he made sure to include plenty of chili oils with my order. When I arrived he walked me through each sauce and welcomed me with a complimentary Thai tea, which was absolutely delicious. The drunken noodles were some of the best I've ever had. Flavorful, loaded with veggies and beef, and still packing that satisfying heat. This feels like a family run spot that genuinely cares about their food and customers. I'll definitely be back.

Unfortunately it wasn't the experience I was looking forward to. Wanted to try someplace new and saw this place had great reviews. Maybe it was an off day for them as the pictures looked great... but not so much for mine. The pad see ew taste bitter/burnt, was greasy and not sweet at all. It's my favorite Thai dish so I was really disappointed. The scallion pancakes were absolutely delicious. If I was rate only the scallion pancakes it would be a 5 star review. Loaded with scallions and I'm pretty sure they're homemade. The wonton soup was pretty good, the broth was really tasty and I loved that it had a a lot of veggies in it. The chicken in the wontons was a little tough. Not sure if they're frozen or fresh but they just fell apart when reheated. It was a pint for $9 which I thought was a little much.

I recently tried Thai Kitchen 29 for the first time. I'll never forget that name. I first had Thai food at a restaurant named Thai Kitchen and my birthday falls on the 29th. So it's fitting that I loved TK29, and I plan on returning to explore the menu. I sometimes refer to my style of choosing restaurants as the Contrarian Play. In this case, TK29 is a Thai restaurant located in New Britain's Little Poland area. It's small, well-loved and personalized to reflect things important to the owner. I know that because she talked with me for about 5 minutes. Very friendly and proud of her roots. They have a small, but comfortable dining area. I think they probably have a healthy takeout business and I noticed that they're on DoorDash as well. I ordered the Roti and the Green Curry with mixed seafood. Roti is like a thick crepe cut in the shape of quesadilla pieces. It came with a red curry for dipping and it was well balanced and delicious. The Green Curry may have been the best I've had, although I usually order yellow curry. It had great thickness and balanced flavors. Spicy, but not too spicy. The seafood included shrimp, squid rings and mussels. The squid rings were tender. The shrimp was medium sized. It was good quality, but could have been a touch less cooked. The mussels were long and good. The vegetables included red and green bell peppers, bamboo shoots and Thai Basil. All fresh with good color. The owner also gave me a free Thai Coffee when I told her it was my first visit. It had great color and was delicious. Five Stars. Thai Kitchen 29 is definitely in the mix for my fav Thai restaurant within 30 minutes of my home. I just need to explore more of the menu. The owner recommended that I try the Pad Thai and Basil Fried Rice on future visits, which she described as more authentically Thai than most versions I would see in the area.

Amazing!!! What a hidden gem of a restaurant. With only 3 tables, so positioned to be more of a take out place, the ambiance is sitting in your aunties kitchen while she cooks the food she grew up with. This Thai restaurant is much more authentic than most. Stronger flavors and cooked more traditionally. No American-thai here. The food was vibrant and delicious. We came for lunch and the pricing and portion sizes were perfect. Highly recommend this little place as your next food order!!!

Incredible service and amazing food made for such a great dining experience! It's a hole in the wall spot with just a few tables but the owners make you feel so welcomed. We started off with some Thai Tea which was delicious. For an appetizer we got the crab Rangoons and Roti Canai. The Rangoons were crispy and came with a great sweet and sour sauce, but the star of the show was the Roti. It was flakey and buttery and came with a curry sauce that was so good I placed a second order of it to go. One of the owners pointed out that they can prepare the food to your spice preference or give you the sauce to make it as spicy as you want. My husband ordered the Red Curry with chicken and shrimp. I had the wonton noodle soup with chicken and shrimp. The broth was seasoned to perfection. Veggies in the soup still had a little crunch which was nice and the chicken wontons had so much flavor. They have an expansive menu and I cant wait to try some of their other dishes. It's not a matter of if we will be back, it's when we'll be back.

We've picked up food here a number of times since we discovered Thai Kitchen 29. We ordered delivery tonight and were very happy with the service!! We ordered 4 entrees and 3 appetizers. They were delivered in less than the estimated time (45 min.) by one of the owners. He was incredibly friendly and appreciative of the business. He even showed up with 4 free drinks (iced teas)! Thai kitchen 29 serves authentic and delicious food and it's our favorite place for takeout, and now delivery!! Awesome noodles, fried rice, and apps. Plus lots of proteins to choose from. Highly recommend.

While passing through New Britain CT this weekend I came across an incredible Thai restaurant. Being from the Boston Ma. area I am used to eating great food cooked by great chef's but this is a Small restaurant ( only 4 tables) owned by a wonderful woman and her family and staff. They all came out to welcome us and explain everything dish. The owner explained that she has been here for under 10 years and cooks from memory of years spent in Thailand cooking with her Grandmother. Everything is homemade! The menu was extensive with many different dishes from other Thai restaurants. I had Cashew chicken with vegetables so delicious. The pad Thai was incredible , but the Pumpkin Curry was the most incredible dish I have ever had. Don't judge this restaurant by its size it's AMAZING

Fantastic food just like Mai's family makes. Mai (chef/owner) is a lively, informative, and lovely woman that will treat you like family. All the food is delicious and made with care. Duck with basil sauce is a favorite and the many curries are excellent. Get the pumpkin curry- you wont be disappointed. The fried rive dishes are also very good. The restaurant is small- 3 or 4 tables but never had problem with seating. Many people order take out and her husband will deliver. If you are hungry for excellent and authentic Thai food this is the place. read more

The food was absolutely amazing! Very authentic! I lived in Thailand for a bit, so I'm always missing authentic Thai food. Most Thai restaurants are American-ized, but this one is not. The Chiang Mai noodles tasted exactly as I remembered it from Chiang Mai. I ABSOLUYELY LOVE THIS PLACE! If you love Thai food, and want more authentic Thai, this place is a must. I'd give it 3.5 stars. The curry dish was tasty. We ordered the coconut curry. But they forgot an item I ordered. I never got the crispy chicken side entree. Second, the fried items were very greasy and didn't taste fresh. (Coconut fried shrimp and egg rolls) it was That feeling of when you re-use the same grease/oil all day long to fry items. There are better options for Thai food. But hey. It fed us. read more

The menu is extensive and we chose a few of our favorite Thai dishes plus 2 that are not on most menus. The chicken larb salad was delicious. We also especially love the drunken noodles, Siracusa rice, and pra ram. The owner was very warm and friendly. There were 2 tables in the restaurant and she put them together for us to accommodate all of our dishes. The Thai iced tea with lychee was delicious and unique. This restaurant is a few minute drive from Newington and will definitely be a favorite! read more

I don't often write reviews but I wanted to make sure to take the time to share about this amazing little spot ! After a late night of work I was having a craving for Thai take out. The online ordering was a little tricky to navigate because they close that 45 mins before closing time so I called in my order. There were so many great options to chose from-I ordered the shrimp pad Thai , shrimp spring rolls, Thai fried rice and Bangkok noodles. Everything was delicious and I can't wait to go back again and again. It's a little hole in the wall but it's clean and so much pride was taken in decorating and in making you feel welcome as soon as you walk in the door! The owner is lovely and so authentic in her cooking and in her spirit ! I will definitely be back and so glad that they are not too far from my office. Great addition to New Britain ! This is probably my first review ever but I couldn't pass up the opportunity to share my experience with this family owned restaurant. Very friendly couple as soon as we walked in we were greeted by one of the owners and sat. Very clean and eye catching lots of nice things to look at in the restaurant. We asked for recommendations and we got the Basil fried rice and honestly it was AMAZING definitely 10/10 we also got the spicy calamari although I didn't get a picture they were nice and chunky. I've never been served such thick calamari as I was here and the sauce that goes with it was the staple of this appetizer. We only went to try it out and ended up ordering two basil fried rice to go. For being a first time customer we were offered a complimentary tea with our meal. Everything was fresh to order and VERY QUICK. This is definitely a place to go whenever you don't feel like cooking at home and still have that home vibe dinner. Prices are reasonable for the amount t of food they serve and let's not forget FRESH FOOD. You can taste the freshness of vegetables and protein in every bite. I love to try family owned restaurants and get that feeling of being a part of the family and this definitely exceeded my expectations. We will be back!! read more

We have had a lot of Thai food in the area and I have to say, Thai Kitchen 29 May be the best Thai we have had. Very authentic flavor and the food was extremely fresh. They seem to focus on take out but do have a few tables available to sit in and have a meal. The owners are extremely friendly and proud to have a business in the area. Magical, authentic Thai food in the heart of New Britain. We have sampled a little of everything, and we've been wowed every time. From tom yum soup to massaman curry to incredible wings and other appetizers, there's nothing that hasn't far exceeded our expectations. Hopefully they correct this very basic issue fairly soon before the health department pays its visit.

While some places water down the flavor to cater to a broader audience Mai (the owner) chefs it up as if she is in her home kitchen cooking for family. You taste the loving in her cooking. I seriously can't get enough of this place. Food is beyond delicious so it deserves another review. I have dined in, picked up and had delivery. Not once have I been disappointed. Restuarant is small but so nice and CLEAN inside! Owners are nice and inviting. Food is authentic. Flavor is amazing!!!
