Absolutely love Tomo. Excellent fresh sushi. Polite staff. Nice atmosphere. I usually sit at the bar. The restaurant also appears very clean and well maintained. Prices are pretty much on point for sushi/drinks as well. I have always had a great experience at Tomo, from the food to the service. I have even Doordashed them and been satisfied. This is my goto sushi place in Naugatuck and I feel it's the best in the area.

Came back here twice in one weekend! This has been on my list for a long time and I wish I went sooner! Parking is on the smaller side and a little odd that you block in tenants. However, the sushi is one of the best sushi places I have been to. The pork gyoza was crispy and filled well. I ended up getting the yum yum roll, salmon paradise and the super volcano roll. Every single bite was perfect and tasted fresh. The service was super fast, both waitresses were friendly and helpful. Cute and intimate on the inside with low lighting and low music in the background. I got my eye on that sushi pizza next!

Three stars for quality ingredients and freshness. Tonight I spent $80 on the 3 hand roll combo, 2 orders of gyoza, pad Thai chicken and a small beef fried rice using an apparently expensive delivery service. Understand times are tough but the portions were so tiny, The salad that came with the rolls was just weird lettuce and 2 carrot juliannes. The gyoza were just a tiny bite sized mini version than those I get elsewhere for less money. I paid for extra sauce and put in the notes that I need extra ginger and didn't receive any ginger at all! Very disappointed in how tiny the roll pieces were too.

The service was so friendly! They were so accommodating. My boyfriend and I had an amazing time we tried it for the first time and it was delicious! We actually came back the next day it was that great! It's such a nice cute date spot! Make sure that you try the angry dragon roll for sure! I usually only eat California rolls but my boyfriend ordered this and of course I wanted to try it and I'll always order it every time now! The drink was amazing the ice cream was soo good. I would definitely recommend this spot to anyone! There's not much good food in this area but they're definitely a go to spot now!

I tried out Tomo68 and thought it was a delightful experience. The food, the presentation, the kind service and recommendations - it was great! We tried a variety of apps and rolls. The calamari was delicious, the sushi pizza was my favorite!!!, and the pepper tuna rolls were delicious. If you want a really fun presentation with a fire element, order the angry dragon 2 roll! So cool! The Victoria secret roll is their most popular, and for good reason! It was my favorite. Everything seemed so fresh. If it was closer I'd go regularly.

Went for dinner with friends and got the Ahi Tuna Roll, yum yum roll, garlic chili edamame, Pork broth ramen with pork belly, the miso ramen with pork belly, duck ramen and pad Thai. Everything was 10/10. The ramen portion was more than filling and we all took home leftovers.

I haven't been here in years but was craving some ramen and fried rice and I was not disappointed! The ramen broth was flavorful and the noodles and toppings were just as delicious. I added some chili oil at home and it was just *chefs kiss*. The fried rice was also great but I would have loved some onions. On my order I checked the no vegetables option but left the onions since that was also an option you can omit. But the onions were omitted anyway. Next time, I know to put an order note but I recommend this be fixed for online ordering! Also my order was supposed to be ready in 20-25 minutes but was not ready until almost 50 minutes. They were very busy when I got there so understandable but would love for their texting system to be more precise.

The restaurant has been renovated recently and has a vibe that makes it feel more upscale and adds to the experience of eating there. Parking is in the back on a hill, so you'll have to walk down the side and to the front. Shared pork buns, side of broccoli, one of the hot rolls, Pho, and steak wrapped green onions. The steak was melt in your mouth and the pho/broccoli didn't disappoint. The pork buns were good but lacked flavor for what they're worth. Some of the menu items they didn't have ingredients to make which was a disappointment. Overall, the food is delicious and some of the best Japanese you can get in the area. However, for the price of everything you'll need to spend a lot to feel like you've actually had a meal. For two, we spent over $100.

It's about time I beef up my review for Tomo since they're one of my favorite restaurants ever! Whether you order a sushi boat, some rolls, a teriyaki dinner, ramen, or a Thai dish, I can pretty much guarantee you'll enjoy your meal. I can't come here without ordering their gyoza because it's seriously the best I've ever had. They always crisp it on the edges so perfectly! Knowing the namesake behind the Hot & Sexy Rachel Roll, we do enjoy ordering it quite a bit, but they have some really creative choices, like the baconator roll. Jin is the best and has remained consistent in delivering quality food over the years I've been coming here!

This is by far my favorite restaurant in the greater Waterbury area. I've had nearly every roll on the menu.... you really can't go wrong. The Owner Jay is actively engaged in the restaurant and is very welcoming to new patrons or regulars alike when they enter. My recommendations are the red devil roll, tuna tataki done tuna Dan style, and a Sapporo. I'm in Naugatuck nearly every month and I can't leave without going to Tomo.

The ambiance was spot on. The ramen lacked flavor in my opinion. My partner enjoyed the egg rolls!

The food was good, though the meat was on the saltier side and the egg rolls were too greasy. I asked for no garlic in the mofongo and requested it on the side instead, but I received mofongo with garlic and even more garlic on the side. On top of that, I was charged $1.00 for the garlic that should have originally been in the mofongo Although the portions are large and can be shared, I found it to be pricey, but I guess that's Connecticut for you. One combo was $15, and the total for the meal came to $55. Egg rolls were almost $5 each, and it was $1 extra for mayo ketchup. Because of the distance, I wouldn't go again unless I'm already in the area, but I would still recommend giving it a try.

La BoriChina - Waterbury, Connecticut…read more I saw someone mention La BoriChina and knew I had to check it out. Located at 105 Meriden Rd in Waterbury, Connecticut, this place serves Puerto Rican-Chinese fusion--a combination I've only ever had back on the island. I got up, dressed quickly, grabbed a coffee, and headed out, hoping for some fried chicken and Puerto Rican pork fried rice. The first thing that caught my eye was the drive-through. Around here, drive-throughs are usually just for fast food, so seeing one at a Puerto Rican-Chinese spot felt unexpected in the best way--like watching our food and culture evolve and progress. The building sits on a small incline, so watch your step when getting out of the car--the sidewalk has yellow-marked elevated sections. Outside, everything was spotless: no moss, no winter mess, and the parking lot was free of garbage. Walking in, the cleanliness continues: the front counter is large and brightly lit, bathrooms are to the left, and tables line both sides. It's mostly takeout-focused, but plenty of seating is available if you want to stay. Salsa music played, giving the space a warm, welcoming vibe that makes you want to linger. I even checked the restroom before ordering, and I was impressed--not just recently cleaned, but clearly maintained consistently. Ordering was easy. The employee was friendly, professional, repeated our order back, and handed over a buzzer. From our seats, I could see customers being helped quickly. The only wait was for the food itself--about 23 minutes. What we ordered (with prices): * Pork fried rice with pepper steak - $14.99 * Pork fried rice with pork chops - $14.99 * Garlic fried plantains - $5.95 * Three pieces of fried chicken with fries - $9.99 * Large passionfruit drink - $10.00 * Small piña colada with cherry - $8.00 * Coca-Cola - $2.79 * G100 to-go fee - $1.00 Desserts (ordered before leaving): * Coconut flan - $3.25 * Tres leches - $3.25 Subtotal: $6.50 Food impressions: * Pork fried rice with pepper steak: Rice was grainy (just how I like it) and pepper steak was soft and well-seasoned, though a couple pieces had cartilage. Fries came with it, but sweet plantains would've been a better fit. Rice needed a touch more salt, and fries were soft rather than crispy, though they tasted fine. * Pork fried rice with pork chops: Pork was soft, juicy, and pleasantly large. Well-cooked overall, though a little adobo, salt, or pepper would've elevated it. * Garlic tostones: Slightly soft but flavorful. * Fried chicken: Crispy without being overdone--the crunch was perfect, though could've used a pinch of salt. Portion sizes are generous. Two people could easily share one pork fried rice with pork chops. Drinks: The specialty drinks came from fountain dispensers, like a classic cuchifrito spot, and were cold and flavorful. I was especially pleased to see a fountain Acerola drink--a rare find I haven't even seen at the Cuchifrito back home. Prices were a bit high ($8 small, $10 large), but I'd still get them again, especially the passionfruit. I LOVE PARCHA! Service was consistently friendly. The employee who took my dessert order even complimented my handbag, and everyone behind the counter was sweet--eye contact always met with an immediate smile. Everything looked well organized and well-stocked, and all employees were well-groomed and clean. When we walked out, by the time we got to our car right in front, we could see them already cleaning the tables--talk about staying on top of things! And let me be clear--when I say clean, I mean abuela-and-all-the-Titi's-scrubbing-with-the-hose clean. The kind of clean we do back home. Would I go back? Definitely! The pepper steak was flavorful, and I'd love more. Next time, I want to try the Mongolian beef and grab another round of fried chicken. Maybe not too often--the drive is an hour and 15 minutes--but it's absolutely worth it for a taste of authentic Puerto Rican-Chinese flavors.
