Excellent interior design from all angles. Food is very rich, fragrant, and well presented with vibrant colors. 2023/2024 Lunch Special menu is different. 2025 Lunch entree comes with free selected appetizer. Portions are good amount & we took leftovers home. Con: After taking pictures, the entrees were a bit too much on the sweet side for all three, but the appetizer soups hit the spot yummy.

Everything was absolutely delicious! I came here yesterday to celebrate my dad's birthday, and the service was excellent. All of our food came out hot, and our server was very attentive -- we left with zero complaints. We tried a little bit of everything, and it was all amazing. If you're hesitant about coming here, don't be! The food is authentic and full of flavor. We visited on a Saturday night around 6:30 p.m. and had a great experience. I usually don't leave reviews but for this place I had to. I'm contemplating on going back again today lol

If you've never had Laotian food but enjoy Vietnamese and Thai food, give Xay's a try. Lao cuisine shares many of the same ingredients and even the same dishes, but with their own unique twist that makes it worth exploring. I love how they serve rice with the Tom Yum soup unlike most Thai places in the area. Not only does it balance the strong flavors of the soup, but also makes for a much heartier meal. The food is cooked flavorfully without much oil, grease, or an abundance of MSG/fish sauce, which is always appreciated. We've mostly ordered dishes we're familiar with such as their pho and pad kee mao (drunken noodles) and admittedly have yet to branch out too much so far, but looking forward to exploring the rest of their menu! (Update 7/21: Loved the Kao Piek Sen!) It's always been the same person serving us (they only have one person in the front of the house the last two times we've been there, which is usually sufficient for a small space like this during quiet hours) and she has always been kind, prompt and attentive. The only nags we've had so far is the beef for the pho usually comes out tougher than we would like. They have a crispy pork and shrimp wonton appetizer we also found kind of lackluster, but we do enjoy the sai oua (pork sausage) appetizer. I don't know too much about the history of Xay's Kitchen, but apparently they're a family run business with a location in Danbury as well. I'm just happy they opened in Orange and right next to Lin's Kitchen, which is actually a solid option for Sichuan food. I'm hoping their presence brings even more diverse asian cuisine options to the Orange area, on top of the more recent openings of Ji Bei Chuan and K-Pot! There's always room for another "Kitchen" next to Xay's and Lin's lol. Best of luck, and as long as the food continues to be consistently good, we'll be coming back!

Laotian sausage, and flank steak Yum. Lots of flank so delicious

Love this one as much as the one in Danbury! Laotian sausage is beautifully crispy and flavorful. Pho is excellent as well.

So delicious and affordable! This restaurant has been rebranded and it does not disappoint. I loved the pho, Thai noodle and chicken satay Friendly service with smiles that brightened my day My only complaint is that the rice from mango sticky rice was partly undercooked and really hard to chew. Other than that all the other dishes were perfect

Finally some Lao representation! We've been to the Danbury location and thankful for this newest location. Food is amazing and can't wait to come back for more. Very friendly service and beautiful decorated. Their lunch special is worth the drive up and will return soon to try the pho! As a Lao American, I can honestly say this is the best Lao Thai restaurant in CT.

They have a fairly extensive menu that also includes boba tea, smoothies, and more! I always opt for the rolled ice cream since that's what they specialize in, and I'm pretty sure they're the only store around serving it too. Expect a bit of a wait though since it's made-to-order and a fairly labor-intensive process! You get to watch them craft your creation on a frozen pan, but it can take longer than 5 minutes to prepare, and even longer during peak times. The texture is denser than traditional ice cream and the colder serving temperature makes rolled ice cream less prone to melting quickly, allowing you to bask in its deliciousness for a longer period of time without it turning into a soupy mess. Personally I feel they go a little overboard with the toppings, so for a slightly less sweet experience, you should definitely customize your order a bit. It's a good option when you want a twist from the ordinary. Although Ice and Fire is Asian-inspired, the offerings are definitely Americanized to appeal to a broader audience. I'm hoping their success paves the way for more shops specializing in traditional Asian desserts in the future! Definitely need a place that offers shaved ice in the area!

What was not good was the notable discrepancy in price on the website versus the actual prices. So, this review is a PSA because Thai Spice really needs to rectify this immediately and get all of its sites updated. At the time of our order two weeks ago (and at the time that I am writing this review), the website https://thaispiceauthentic.com/ and the PDF menu hyperlink on that website (and the Order Now hyperlinks on the site) all reflect outdated prices. If you access the business via the https://www.yumdthaicuisine.com/ site (immediately confusing because this does not appear to be the current restaurant name, and the sign outside the restaurant says Thai Spice) or if you Google the restaurant and access the Toast site to order, you will get the current, actual prices. But these are way too many variables for a customer to reasonably navigate or to know what is accurate. We ordered the following: - Thai Sampler - We expected to pay $14.96/99 (two prices, one on the PDF and one via the Order Now link); the actual current price is an astounding $22.50 ($15 was a good deal, we thought; $22.50 is not--not for what you get) - Chicken Pad Thai - We expected to pay $13.96/99; the actual price is $14.95 - Yellow Curry - $13.96/99; actual price, $14.95 - Sticky Rice - $3.00; actual price, $4.00 A difference of over $10. Not great.

The person working immediately took my order, as there was only one other person waiting at the time. It took several minutes but then my food was good to go. The boba itself was solid. The taro flavor was good, the pearls was well cooked and lightly sweet, I'd get it again and try some of the other flavors. The poke also was good! I would probably get it without the pineapple next time. I wish there was slightly more Fish added but it tasted great. Next time I come I'll do a build your own poke as they have forms for this and it seems straight forward. Glad to have a place like this so close to my work!

The best part is that most of the ingredients are already included, so you really get a lot for your money. If you want extras, it's only a small upcharge, which is totally reasonable. I liked that you actually get to choose everything & watch them make your bowl in front of you. My poke bowl was scrumptious! The ingredients tasted fresh & clean! I found myself wanting more & more w/ each delicious bite! The service really stood out to me. Annie who helped us was such a sweetheart! She was super kind, helpful (she took the time out to explain the menu),& welcoming! She even gave us coupons for free ice cream on our next visit. Since a few people in our group were from out of state & couldn't use the coupons, she gave them complimentary ice cream on the spot. Annie made sure we still got to enjoy the treat, which was such a thoughtful gesture. The space itself is really cute, too! It had nice decor & fun, comfortable, relaxed vibes that makes you want to hang out & enjoy your food. We (my niece, her 2 friends,& me) also tried a few bubble teas, & overall they were really good. The chocolate & brown sugar flavors were def my favorites. The strawberry one didn't quite hit the mark for me, & the ice cream wasn't the best(but honestly, everything else from the food to the service more than made up for it). I also tried the spring rolls & they were tasty & crispy (fresh out the fryer). I'd def come back again, especially for another fully loaded poke bowl & that great customer service!
