Pad Thai Noodles and pad Drunken Noodles

Great food and good prices, the drunken noodles were little spicier than usual, everything else was standard quality, service was friendly and fast, the space was spacious and clean, great asian food choice in the area

Pho Ketkeo serves Laotian, Thai, and Vietnamese dishes in New Haven. Most of the food are standard Asian fare, but the truly standout item is their Nam Khao (Crispy Rice Salad). I would come here just for that one plate alone. Nam khao is a Lao rice and salad dish made with deep fried rice, Lao-style pork sausage, peanuts, mint, cilantro, fish sauce, and other ingredients. The result is an insane amalgamation of sweet, tart, and spicy mixed with crunchy bites of rice. It comes with individual lettuce leaves that I highly recommend you use to make wraps with. I came here with a group and we ordered a plethora of appetizers, pho, fried rice, and fried fish. But I would still recommend the nam khao salad out of everything here.

Nice spot, very distinct taste from Thai restaurants in town which I was pleasantly surprised by since so many places are just kinda vaguely Asian. Their drunken noodles are good and a little on the spicy side compared to others I've had. I'm a fan!

Fast food.... Everything tastes well. Portions have shrunk over the years but taste and flavor are still good. Never a wait to get a table.

Apparently they're called Pho Temple now. One of the most flavorful pho broths I've tasted. They also use a different type of chili that is very small, very hot, and has an interesting flavor.

First time here. Place comes highly recommended.

I unfortunately have to say I was disappointed a short while ago. I had to leave and ho somewhere else. We got there and seated right away but then we sat there without even getting water for close to 10 minutes. Nobody came over to say they'd be there in a minute. I'm not one to exaggerate either. I have to say this was going to be my third time here within a week. I was here last Friday then again on Saturday. That's how much I enjoyed this place. I was di looking forward to the Laotian sausage and crispy rice today. They really dropped the ball today. There was only a six top ordering their food and a two top already eating.

Came in for a good lunch special - $12 for a big plate of drunken noodles. Sufficiently spicy, the chicken was a little gamey, but overall I was satisfied. Also got a Thai coffee which was great - very sweet and milky (as to be expected). They seemed to only have one person working up front, so service was a little iffy but nothing too egregious.

    Tamarind fish -- delish!

Usually I collapse from hunger at some other restaurant before getting this far along Temple, and that's my loss. This casual-dining restaurant was terrific on all counts, from food to service, to the point of increasing my heretofore casual interest in this branch of cuisine. I had Tom Kha soup, which was enjoyable, and tamarind fish, which was a delicious discovery that motivates me to try the three-flavor fish next time. (Honestly, I now want to try almost everything on the menu.) Service was incredibly nice and swift. This may become my Asian go-to downtown now, as the experience was perfect.

I'm still trying to determine where my favorite Asian fusion place is in New Haven, and Pho Ketkeo has had some solid hits. The Laotian fried rice is a consistent hit. It's tough to mess up fried rice, right? But this one is very good. I also liked the cashew nut, which I had with tofu. I would suggest avoiding the pho. I've tried two times, and I've found the pho broth way too salty and a bit skimpy on the meat. I was surprisingly impressed by the crispy chicken wings. I would definitely order them again. Overall, prices are competitive, especially for lunch.

I'm a pho critic for sure lol this pho was insane. Amazing. Broth full of flavor. Noodles cooked to perfect. Lots of veggies that tasted fresh. Tofu was delightful. Everything was great and I love that there were size options for the pho. 10/10 will be back, so happy I tried.

Wonderful place for a warm pho in cold winter days . Also highly recommend their beef jerky with sesame sauce . Be aware that spicy items can be really hot :D

Medium Pho (with tripe, meatballs, beef)

Pho was so yummy!! Perfect on a cold day. The spring rolls were also delicious, and the man at the front doing all the food runs brought us a whole extra plate! Will be returning soon hopefully.

The restaurant appears to be a little mom and pop shop. Upon arrival the hostess was on the phone and just waived us off to seat ourselves. After her phone call she did come greet us and bring us menus. It was pretty empty during late lunch a little after 1:00 p.m. Decor and ambiance was as I mentioned earlier mom and pop shop feel. The menu consisted of Thai and Lao food we tried a few things but found the flavors lacking in a few areas. The pad seew was very close to being traditional Thai Pad seew, but traditionally there are never any carrots or cilantro added to the dish, the cilantro which I normally love cilantro was too floral and made the Pad Seew taste like soap. The Lard na was deemed "just okay" by my father in-law again the randomly added carrots. The sausage was over priced for literally 1 sausage cut into smaller pieces and lacked flavor and it was a bit gamey. The cucumbers slices served with all the meals were too mature to be served the way they were, just huge thick slices, if you're a gardener you'll understand. The papaya salad I don't recall anything good or bad about it. The squid salad was not what we expected but still good, again nothing that makes me say I need to try this again. Would we try it again "maybe."

Admittedly I've never tried their Thai curries so I can't comment. My first trip here was to try the Pho. It was good, but it was on subsequent trips that I explored their Yums. Today I had Nam Khou which was crunchy rice, scallions, cilantro, and Laos sausage pieces served with romaine lettuce leaves on the side of the plate. I took that to mean I should scoop some of the dish into each leaf and it was delightful. While it is supposed to be two peppers hot, according to the menu, it was not but it was very flavorful nonetheless. You can always scoop some black chilli oil on top as they graciously keep condiments at each table. I also tried the summer rolls again. Now my favourite summer rolls used to be the ones in West Hartford with crispy pork and shrimp in them. However, I will say just the plain shrimp ones were wonderful. One nice touches they provide a little espresso spoon in the peanut sauce so you can scoop it's on top of each bite without having to dip and have it fall apart. The CREW was kind of quiet today but I came in mid afternoon so they were catching up on other stuff. However, the service was still great. I almost hate leaving this review because this is like my private spot that no one knows about. That's about to change.
