    Regular Bowl

Fantastic place to get a bowl of mixed carbohydrates and vegetables. Service was quick, fast, and accommodating. Staff is always friendly and welcoming! Parking is tough during lunch hour since so many people come from work to grab lunch at one of the multiple restaurants in the plaza. There is a set menu available if you don't want to customize a bowl. My favorite here is the broccoli and mushrooms! The seasoned chicken is always tasty as well. There is plenty of seating even when lunch rush is going on. The tables and floor are always clean! Ventilation does need some work since the store will leave a lingering food smell on clothes. I'm glad to see they're successful enough to open a second location. It is well deserved!

I've been supporting them since they opened because I've always loved supporting local businesses and liked their concept. However, today was my last straw. To be honest, I've had a handful of bad experiences with them in the past, such as inconsistent portion sizes and food quality. Sometimes the portion size is half of what I usually get. The food quality is hit or miss too -- you might get the driest chicken, hardest rice, or dirtiest lettuce. It's nothing like when they first opened. Today, I decided to try their beef barbacoa. It was NASTY. I literally couldn't eat it, and it was a premium protein that cost an extra $4. I don't mind paying extra for good food, but if there's an upcharge, I'd like it to be worth it. Safe to say, after all those bad experiences, I'm never coming back to support them or recommend them to anyone.

Solid option for a quick, healthy meal. The portions are generous for the price, especially when it comes to the base and protein. I really enjoyed the teriyaki chicken and the mushrooms. They were definitely the highlight of my bowl. That said, I didn't feel like all the base and topping combinations worked well together. The bases themselves were a bit dry, and the sauce options were just okay, not bad, but nothing I'd go out of my way for. It was also a little frustrating that some of the better toppings (like tomatoes and edamame) cost extra. Overall, it's a decent spot if you're in the area and want something on the healthier side, but it didn't really stand out as anything special.

One of my favorite places for lunch. My go to order: sweet potato noodles with mixed greens, zucchini, corn, pickled onions, cilantro, and ginger turmeric sauce. Yummy!

I came here for the first time because I was excited to try a new bowl place. They definitely give you a nice portion for your food. However, the food didn't have a great flavor, my salmon tasted plain, the mushrooms were salty. Maybe I came on a bad day but I've seen so many great reviews and I didn't feel the same. It was a one and done for me. Maybe I enjoy poke bowls better, I am not sure, but I honestly felt for the price it would be a great value. It didn't really meet my expectations of a flavorful bowl. It was really plain, something I can cook at home. You can clearly see how big the mushrooms are it is not cut and it was big to put in your mouth to chew. I definitely wouldn't recommend it. But, if you like fast, simple, basic food then give it a try. If you're looking for something that is delicious, flavorful, and hits the spot, I def recommend you skip this joint.

went here around 5:40 pm with my girlfriend, place packed at all, plenty of parking since this is in a shopping plaza center, and there is a good amount of chairs and tables to sit & eat at, but not a lot. you can go ahead and make your own bowl, this place has nice fresh ingredients, there's plenty to choose from, it's exactly like an asian style chipotle which is awesome if you are looking for something different or want asian fusion of flavors. see the photos for a good amount of what we got, i got the salmon & my girlfriend got the lemon chicken which was super delicious and plentiful. they also have signature drinks which is on tap and im guessing you can get refills? i highly recommend if you want a great alternative to healthy bowls!

This place is beautiful and clean inside, few tables inside and some customers too. There are so much healthy options and the so much proteins to choose from. They give you good portions and it is expensive but it is great quality of food! Staff are friendly and great with customer service! We will come back to try other options.

Had a great experience at Boltiful! I even got to meet the owner, Ricky, who's super nice and clearly cares about the quality and vibe of the place. The bowls are really fresh with a ton of options to customize exactly how you want. There's a good variety of different sauces that you can choose from. My personal favorite is the pesto herb. If you're looking for a hearty meal, try this place out!

I thought I made a review for the first time I was here but I guess I didn't; anyway here's my long awaited review. first of all, great concept. I already love vegetables and they're even better when they're prepared correctly - Boltiful does just that. and did I mention they give free samples before you decide on your order? on proteins AND vegetables too :) so regular bowls and large bowls: main difference is how many sides and proteins you get to have - and the amount they give you? I always have 1/2 left of a regular to take home (and mind you, I'm a big eater). so do what you will with that information. it's basically a build your own style; again, free samples so you can taste what they have before ordering but I've had the chicken teriyaki and the premium chimichurri steak (both were delicious, however I might get the salmon or lemon chicken next time). the jasmine rice is fluffy and I believe is slightly seasoned (however, it might have just been soaking up all the flavors from the other components), and I highly recommend getting the sweet potato noodles as well. I lucked out last time I was here: the noodles were piping hot and fresh - if you like japchae vibes, you'll love these. there's some chilis in there but honestly they weren't spicy. I'm a sucker for brussels sprouts so I usually get these by default, but my friend sampled the garlic broccoli and she said it tasted how it sounds - which wasn't enough wow factor for me to stray away from the brussels. for a regular bowl you get up to 3 toppings: I decided on the pickled red onion, cilantro, and crispy noodles (honestly, I didn't want a third topping/the noodles, but it did give a nice crunch). and for sauce they offer to drizzle it on top or give you a small portion on the side - the garlic sauce is very good and I think tends to be their most popular of the choices. the picture doesn't really do it justice: I had 2 FULL meals from a regular with how much they stuffed this thing. I mean the scoop of brussels sprouts alone was basically the microwaveable-bag of brussels from Trader Joe's (not that I'm complaining, but I had a lot of food that day and the next!) I just wish I lived closer! I feel so healthy/good when I do eat here, but the plaza it's in is extremely crazy parking wise - so do be warned. I'll be back even with the crazy commute, and hopefully I can tell yall more about all of the options :) (also next time I'm here I'll show pictures of the actual food: I thought I took those photos but I guess I didn't)

This is my second time having Boltiful! So glad there's a location closer to us so we had to come by again! This time I got the regular size bowl with half black rice half noodles for my base... broccoli as my side & salmon as my protein! The salmon is so good! Service was quick & helpful when I needed suggestions for the sauce. Come try if you want a quick healthy fresh meal!

I tried Boltiful for the first time and was really impressed. I ordered the Spicy Thai Shrimp Bowl for pick-up, and even after my car ride home, everything was still super fresh. The vegetables were crisp and the shrimp was perfectly cooked and seasoned. It wasn't too spicy for me but there was a bit of a kick. Portion sizes are generous, and the prices are very reasonable for the quality of the food. The food was prepared very quickly and server was friendly even though the interaction was brief. This will definitely be one of my new go-to spots and I can't wait to come back and try more of the menu.

This was delicious!! I got this bowl with jasmine rice, sweet potato noodles, BBQ chicken, balsamic glazed mushrooms, sweet corn, cilantro, pickled onions, and the herb pesto sauce! The portion is really filling for its price! The balsamic glazed mushrooms are SOOOOOOO yummy! I wish I got more of it. It was the perfect balance sweet and sour. I would definitely come back here!

I always pass by Boltiful so I decided to give them a try. I made my own bowl with sweet potato noodles, chimichurri steak, spinach (with creamy garlic sauce), brussel sprouts, and corn + a side of spicy sauce Everything was super fresh and flavorful. The steak was tender, the sauces brought it all together, and I love that you can fully customize your bowl. Definitely coming back to try other items!

Late Night Teriyaki That Actually Delivers (Literally)…read more I'm not a delivery girl. I'm a sit-down, glass-of-wine, real-plate kind of person. Eating out of plastic containers? Deeply offensive to my spirit. But when I do cave and open DoorDash, packaging and practicality matter. This? Shockingly solid. Everything traveled well, stayed warm, and -- most importantly -- was actually easy to eat straight from the container without feeling like I was camping indoors. Points were earned. We ordered during a buy-one-get-one promo (thank you, Chase Sapphire, my financial soulmate), which made the value even better. Subtotal was around $58, about $16 in discounts, and we ended up paying $55 with fees and tip. For enough food to feed two people comfortably? That's about $23 a person delivered. I've spent more on a sad salad. Now the food: Chicken pot stickers (6 for $16): Devoured. Slightly greasy -- but in that late-night, no-regrets way. Crab rangoons: Amazing. Amazing. Amazing. Would reorder for these alone. Two-protein bowl: The sleeper hit. I love a protein-forward option. * Spicy chicken: Mad spicy. Slightly sweeter than I prefer, but still very good. * Steak teriyaki: Solid. Reliable. * Veggies: Fresh and flavorful -- could've been cooked just a touch longer, but I'm nitpicking. My boyfriend was fully committed to the meal and loved it. For me, it leaned a tiny bit greasy in moments, but overall it didn't feel junky or heavy. Would I order again? Yes. Is it my new personality? No. There are too many options on DoorDash to pledge lifelong loyalty -- but if we're hungry and this pops up? I wouldn't hesitate. Good value. Warm on arrival. Solid late-night choice. And honestly? That's all I ask from delivery.

In fact the steak was pretty tender. I enjoyed the sauces but wish it was sauced a bit more so that it gives the rice and noodles a little more flavor. Spicy teriyaki, mad spicy, and teriyaki sauces were all good. The orange chicken could be crispier but it's nice that it's not over battered. Noodles slight dry but not a big deal. My only complaint is that it's def a bit pricey for like Panda Express ish fast food but maybe higher quality? I got the two protein bowl. While it is pretty large, 24 is a lil steep for what it is. Overall, would go back if discounted or if craving there sauce flavors

We ordered the Meat and Veggie Sampler which is described on the menu as "a combination of our veggie sampler with stewed lamb, beef, and chicken accompanied by 8 rolls of injera." I've tried Ethiopian cuisine in San Diego, Sacramento, Texas, and Michigan in the last year -- and I would argue that Walia probably makes it to the top for taste, quality, presentation, authenticity, and cultural experience via the ambiance. I had Colombian arepas before but it was like arepas and empanada in one. I like the colombian one a lot so I had to try Venezuelan one. I walked past it last week with a friend on our way to Fox Tale Fermentation. My friend had Venezuelan food in Texas and was surprised I never had it before. I think San Jose is not known for South American food. We have them but not lots of them like Vietnamese and Mexican food. We ordered from the kiosk, which was simple and straight to the point. Our food was suppose to take "5-15 minutes" but we got our food half an hour later. It turns out there's only one cook. Our arepas came in a cute little box that taught as how to pronounce arepas. "ur-ay-puh". The food is messy like a taco. Fillings dripping because it was so full. I had the Pabellon arepa and it was so good. First bite was salty but the rest was muy rico and delicioso. My spicy sauce was the perfect amount of spicy. If your taste bud is only used to pepper being spicy; this sauce is not for you. The avocado sauce was very creamy and rich. The plantains is not oily when fried. It was sweet and taste good. It was an exceptional paring with the beef. The beef were shredded. It was moist and seasoned well. The owner/cook came out and asked if we wanted to try their empandas? on the house. I couldn't hear what was the name but I think it was empanadas. He remember that i didn't order my arepa with cheese and warn that there was cheese in one of them. We couldn't say no to free food and were curious to see what it would taste like. Thank god my friend gave me a empanada food history lesson after we ate it. I expected the empanadas to be packed with filling like the arepas. My friend pointed out that empanadas are usual carb based on her personal experience; that was good to know. We were presented chicken with black beans in the big one and chicken with cheese in the small one. I have to say I liked the chicken with black beans better because I'm not a cheese person. My friend said it's both good. We got avocado sauce and some kind of cilantro sauce to go with our empanadas. I ate most of it because my friend was filled from her arepa. I can only comment about the food since it's a dining hall and not a restaurant. I think the price is on point because the arepas and empanadas were on point.
