We arrived at BP around 4pm on a Sunday and was seated immediately. This place serves individual hot pot with a variety of toppings including meat, vegetables, and noodles. We ordered the Beef (#4) and Taiwanese Spicy (#8). The Beef was a good portion size with delicious broth and toppings like cabbage, fish cakes, and beef slices. The Taiwanese Spicy is their spiciest dish, featuring portions of cabbage, beef slices, ramen noodles and seafood like clams and octopus. It's great for spice lovers but will leave your lips and mouth burning. We loved both options! The service was good as well. We would recommend this place. read more

Terrible customer service, they dont even ask us if we were on the waitlist or not and just walked pass us. My friends n me usually eat here n this happens like 2-3 times. So here's my honest review: I ordered the beef hot pot which was apparently the most popular (according to DoorDash). $20 before taxes/fees/etc, a bit pricey for one person but oh well. Now on to the quality of the food. It was.... basic. Like very basic. The flavor was lacking and the meat was tough. Definitely can't be compared to a shabu shabu meat, not even close. And the spiciness. HOLY CRAP. I chose the mild and although I can typically handle my spicy food, this was not enjoyable. It tingles on your lips, you'll cough, and possibly get a heartburn. Some might enjoy that but that is not enjoyable to me. I can't even imagine what medium or hot would be like. You might need to go to the hospital? In other words, I spent $20 on a hot pot I couldn't even finish because it was so damn spicy. And for the price, you would think you'd get premium meat considering the amount of meat you actually get but instead I got a chewy, dry, rubber-like substance. =/ read more

First thought right when I entered was that I should've worn my jacket because it was so cold inside! The sign at the entrance by the table reservation computer says don't ask how long the wait time is and just reserve a table through there. Luckily, we didn't have to wait more than a few minutes for two. After starting my meal with the fire going and pot boiling, I stopped caring about the cold. The only thing I would want as an added ingredient from any Boiling Point is mozzarella cheese on the Korean pot. I don't know why that's become a thing but in LA I lived real close to a similar hot pot place that served cheese. All this talk about cheese, but it doesn't stop me from always ordering the same thing at Boiling Point. I came here twice in a week so this a review for both. Customer service: Unless we asked for something, the only time they will came around is when we first sit down and ordered. I was not sure what the employees were doing as I would overhear people asking for water, napkins and other little things that are usually done in a restaurant setting. Food: Beef pot had a lot of flavor and was quite delicious. Near the end of the pot it became clear to me that there was a lot of salt in the broth. Taiwanese spicy is a lot a spice but not a whole lot of flavor. Still tasty but it gets tedious near the end. Better for those who just love spicy food. read more

The hunni and I came here on a weekday where it wasn't busy. Their doors are slow to close so when you open and close it, a gush of cold air just covers you and your table. My pot kept unlighting and getting cold. The food is okay, they really don't give you as much as other hot pot places. The service is so and so. Our server was behind on everything, he didn't even offer us extra soup, napkins, refill our drinks and he forgot our rice and other things. I usually like Boiling Point a lot. But I had extremely bad experience at this location. First, the servers were super slow on doing things. They didn't pay any attention to the available tables and even they saw it they just left it and walked randomly... It would take long time for them to realize there is a available table and then clean it. Second, this location is the first one I know so far that refused to provide vermicelli option. I was told rice is the only option, you cannot change it with vermicelli. Third, the taste was the same with other locations but the portion is much smaller. Fourth, there were two restrooms but one is out of service and nobody tried to fix it. read more

soft opening hours 9am - 11pm came in and the place is so SMALL. everyone is packed at the front of the door where the CHECK IN KIOSK is, making it hard to check in. as we wait for our number to be called, you can't help but look at the surroundings and critique how things are run. it honestly feels like the workers have no idea what they are doing at all. they look around or at each other with a dazed or confused look on their face. its kinda weird. i saw numerous times people calling for something from the waiter(s) and they glance their way and walk to the back. it was kinda funny for a while. our number was called and got seated at a spacious table, thank the lord. didn't take long to place our order. we got FRESH MILK TEA, #4 BEEF Spicy, and #8 TAIWANESE SPICY Flaming Spicy ONLY .. wanted to order #10 THAI FUSION but they were sold out sadly. each hot pot come with some sort of noodles (small amount) and a bowl of rice, so you'll walk away full some way or another. it didn't take long for our food to come out and man oh man is FLAMING SPICY hot. it made me tear a little and had my lips burning half way into it. if you like spicy, you should go for it. but lets be real, when its that spicy, you can't really taste anything but pepper. no other flavoring. but hey that might just be me. too bad we can't change the spice level on #8. i really enjoyed their fresh milk tea though that gets 2 thumbs up from me. to be honest, i probably wouldn't come back again. it is not worth $15-20 each. there was little to no meat in the pots. most of it was cabbage and big chunks of tofu. i'd rather go to Lau Hai San than this place. more bang for your buck and tastes better. plus, the wait is never longer than 15 mins. read more

Yay, a BP finally opened up in my hometown. I've been to the SoCal ones and this one is on par with the other locations as far as food quality and service. I usually get #4 (Beef combo) and it tastes great! Very flavorful and lots of goodies in the soup. Definitely go here for lunch, it is cheaper and it comes with a free ice tea (green or black). I went at 11am right when they open on a weekend and was able to get a table with no problems. Around 11:20am, the place was full and had a wait. Ahhh the thought of boiling point always makes my mouth water. The taste has always remained consistent and I have never been disappointed. I prefer the other location in Fremont. This location is wayyy too packed. Its in the already small parking lot where Gen Korean Bbq and Poke House is. It honestly takes a while to get parking, either waiting in a specific spot or driving around. The inside as well is a bit smaller than the other locations. The tables, seem to be closer to each other. The service here is spot on. Really friendly staff. Both times Ive come to this location, was definitely not disappointed. The wait time here seemed a bit longer than normal, and I came here on some random days. My favorite dish is the #6 Lamb. Mmmmmm. So good. The broth is delicious, has a variety of vegetables, spices and meats. And it includes an egg. Yum. I like mixing the different sauces they provide at the table. If you come here for lunch they give you free green or black tea. Otherwise the prices is slightly more expensive for the dinner options. I like how they have drink options as well too. I can't eat spicy very well, so I always order my pots mild, but their sauces pair perfectly with the soup. The Boiling Point in San Jose is a little bigger than the one in Pasadena. This was my first time here & the service was bad. We didn't get our orders (not even asked if we would like something to drink) taken until 20mins after and that was because my friend had to call them over. There was a couple next to us that was seated after us and already had their orders taken--same with the table behind us. Boiling point used to be the spot for my girlfriend and I, the quality was great. However, after they reopened during the pandemic the quality of their soup wasn't the same anymore. There was a lot more sandy sediments at the bottom of the soup, the flavor simply is lost in the amount of oil they put in, the quantity of meat was very minimal, and the prices increased. I've been to boiling point locations in SoCal and they've all been pretty consistent, but this location was really bad. This is honestly due to the service. We came on a Sunday around 1:30pm and put our names down for a table of 5 on the tablet thing. We opted for the text reminders and went outside to wait. We got a text about 20 minutes later, saying that our table would be ready soon and told us to check in with the host. So, we checked in with the host only to be told that our table wasn't ready yet, it was "almost" ready. So we returned outside. We watched a table for 5 be cleared but about 15 minutes later, I saw another party get seated at the table. We go back inside, confused as to why we haven't been called yet, since the host said our table would be ready soon and the tablet says we were a no show. So we go back to the host and tell her about the situation and she says, "Oh, were you outside? They called your number." We were waiting right outside the entrance the whole time, so there's no way we could have missed it. Anyways, she says she'll try to get us the next table. So we go back outside and wait for 10 more minutes until she comes out and says "You." So we finally get seated, and then we wait 15 more minutes for someone to come and take our orders, meanwhile, we're all making eye contact with the waiters who quickly look away and continue to clean other tables. One of our friends has to call someone out and say, hey can we order? After our orders are taken, the food comes out in a reasonable amount of time, but we were never checked on after that. We also had a hard time flagging someone down to bring the bill. It was so frustrating that when they finally did get the bill, we just paid at the counter, knowing it'd probably take another 15 minutes for them to come get our card. So I asked and it turns out they ran out and claimed that they substituted it without telling me. You should ALWAYS tell people when you sub things! Don't just assume people won't notice! And they claimed that they put in fishball instead but it came with one fishball and was already supposed to have one. So I'm super disappointed with the shadiness of this place.
