I get the taiwanese beef hotpot with medium spice, and it was perfect for a chilly night. You always have to be a little careful with the first scoop because you might inhale some spicy stuff and have a small coughing fit. BUT IT'S ALL WORTH IT. One of my favorite spots to eat! Always love how quickly the food gets out from when you order and most importantly, how much you get! The hot pot is enough to have me feeling bloated enough and wondering if I even need to eat anything else for the rest of the day. Every hotpot comes with a free rice bowl or a vermicelli noodles add on, and if you're there during lunch hours (before 3pm) you get a free iced tea (black or green). I ordered a Taiwanese mala pot to go. This is the first time I've ordered boiling point to go and first time to try the Cerritos one. The flavor was there but the package of the hotpot was a bit confusing. The noodles was cooked all the way through but the glass noodle on the side was left as raw. I wasn't sure what to do with the glass noodles when I got home. The broth at that time wasn't hot enough to cook the extra glass noodle. So I ended up heating it up with microwave. I shouldn't have needed to do that. What if somebody ordered to go from work or somewhere else without a microwave? I wonder what the owner was thinking about the extra raw glass noodles? Plus, what bothered me also was the overbooked instant noodles that came with the mala pot. If the glass noodles were left raw, the instant noodles should as well. Nice and hip hot pot place. Nothing very distinctive compared to other hot pot places. Little pricey- come during lunch! I ordered the House Special and it's supposed to be the traditional hot pot. The stuff inside was alright- you can get refills on broth as needed. The vegetables were meh- the usual cabbage and whatnot- and the meat, tofu and fishballs/cakes were also normal. Basically, a pretty average hot pot. They give a cold sweetens green or black tea to accompany the soup and a little cup of sweet chia seed lemony water drink at the end. The staff was pretty great and I'm a huge fan of the electronic waiting device (honestly every store should adopt this). The device lets you input your party size and phone number and texts you when it's your turn - grace period of 10 minutes- which is plenty of time to walk around the plaza and explore the nearby stores. Even after getting some of the severs attention, you can tell from their facial expressions that they cannot wait to just get out, I almost had the door close on me after they called my name and they "opened it for me" to come in. Love love love this place ! Minus one star because of the wait. There's always a wait I get that but when there's like 4 empty tables and a huge wait you would think they would seat fast. The food is great! Boiling point is my usual go to place on a standard cold winter night. I typically get the Japanese miso spicy and scoop in some extra miso to intensify the flavor. It can get a little salty as the broth cooks out but you can always request more broth. They're located I the same plaza as 99 ranch. It's packed with Asian drivers so I would personally take caution when driving in this constantly overpacked lot. Boiling point is usually super busy and would require a wait so I would grab an early meal before the rush. The reasons for the 3 stars is because of their service. I don't know about the women but some of the men are stupid rude. They're pretty arrogant as they strut around with their attitudes while being extra attentive to their female coworkers and/or customers. I swear I'm going to cross dress next time I visit to some attention. Anyways, love the food, ambiance, and the speed in which the food comes out but I am not a huge fan of their male employees. So this place is super busy during dinner time, so do try to go before 6pm. I have been to Boiling Point in Artesia and Rowland, both very delicious hot pot! However, I am starting to realize the wait for this food, is starting to not feel worth it. Last visit I waited about 40-45 minutes for our food at this specific location (Artesia) and I really didn't mind the waiting but if they could setup some chairs or a bench, that would be so helpful. This mainly for elders and seniors who may be waiting, young adults and teens can stand but just a suggestion to provide some seating outdoor. Okay, as far as the waiting system, I think its quite efficient but I was observing the way they seat you and it seems that they purposely stall to bring in customers. I feel this is due to short hand service and to buy time to serve others in the restaurant. Not a bad idea but if short handed, more workers may be the next step for this location. The food here is good but I seem to enjoy the food much more at the Rowland (Original location) Boiling Point. The food is the same menu but the taste seems much better at the Rowland Heights location! Boiling Point's always blast the A/C due to the soup warming you up so if you are the type to be cold even through eating hot soup, then I recommend wearing a jacket or sweater, it gets pretty chilly. So I've known about Boiling Point, but I just never had the chance to try it. Well thank GAWD one opened up right by my house cause I loved everything about it! I was a little skeptical that the food would get overcooked because everything was in the pot already but it really wasn't a problem at all. If anything, the slow simmering of the broth allowed all the flavors to seep through into the veggies and meat. The servers will also refill the broth for you if you need more, and adjust your heat if you ask. The pot also seemed a lot smaller than what I'd expected from pictures, but it was more than enough food. I also enjoyed the different sauces they provide which you can mix and match to concoct your own flava. Another perk was the free green/black tea during lunch! I got the green tea and the sweetness balanced the spice of the food nicely. I also ordered the hokkaido milk tea because everyone says it's a must try, but honestly it was too sweet for me. Half the sweetness would have been perfect. But the bf loved it (he has the biggest sweet tooth). Don't get me wrong, I love Boiling Point's food but the service at this particular location is almost always terrible. They're able to bring your food to your table fairly quickly (which is delicious btw), but after you get your soup, prepared to be ignored the rest of your time here. The waiters don't check on you too see how you're doing or if you need anything else. My boyfriend pretty much had to beg the waiter to give us a refill on our water, & even after that glass we were still left pretty parched. After we finished eating we tried to flag down someone to get our check to pay, & were ignored a few times. Since it's opened a few years back, this place has only gotten better. I pretty much come here every other weekend with the family now because who doesn't love hot pot of different varieties? The wait here is always super long on weekends, which makes sense being that it's the only hot pot location in the area that's good and not all you can eat. You cannot go wrong with the simple ol beef hot pot. Japanese miso is pretty bomb too. The pork is delicious! Ingredients are all pretty fresh now, I remember they used to give frozen beef! If you come during lunch they do give you free iced green or black tea. This is the only thing that is preventing a five star is the lack of customization with the sugar options on the tea. Yes it's free, and I shouldn't complain, but you are pretty much serving a glass of diabetes to everyone. What tea? There is absolutely no tea flavor. Just sugar water.
