    Bohemian (zucchini) tower
    Jody E.

I have tried the 2 sister restaurants (Pinky's and Pearl's Deep Dive) so I had high hopes for Bohemia as well. By far the most impressive decor and ambiance goes to Bohemia. I enjoyed the bright color scheme, live plants, and the mixed media art decor. There were a few things that I didn't entirely understand (the rhino figurines and the indoor beach umbrella) but I let it slide. For drinks we ordered the dancing raspberries (it's served with dry ice and that's what makes the raspberries "dance"), Detox Retox, and the Strawberry Negroni. For someone who doesn't typically likes Negronis, I was pleasantly surprised by this one because the vermouth was understated and there's no Campari. For food, we ordered the garlic hummus, zucchini tower, and the branzino. The hummus was just ok and a little over priced ($13!), but I liked the house made Laffa bread that it's served with. The zucchini tower was delicious and perfectly crispy, but again, over priced for basically being zucchini tempura with tzatziki sauce. The branzino was well seasoned and big enough to share. We had great service from our waiter Braden, who was very patient and checked in with us just the right amount. We also didn't have any issues with a rude hostess that has been mentioned in some of the other reviews :/ I will say I was surprised at how dead it seemed on a Friday night. We were there from 6-830pm and only saw maybe 4 other parties. I'm not sure if it's just not well advertised or they're still kind of new, but I would have expected a restaurant of this caliber to be more busy during a peak time. Overall I'd definitely recommend this place for a date night or a fun dinner out with girls, just don't expect it to be a cheap night.

I have been to Pinky's and to Pearl's but not to Bohemia. He hasn't been to Pearl's so this worked out perfectly. All have the same owners but a completely unique atmosphere and menu! The name fits this place. The entire atmosphere is unique! All of the plants are real. They have a gardener who comes in just to care for the plants. There are so many!! We truly enjoyed learning about the concept of the place. We ordered some fun drinks and really enjoyed walking around and looking at everything. I absolutely recommend coming to all three locations!

Meh. We came here on a Friday night during prime dinner time and sat at the bar. The restaurant was pretty much empty. Probably not a good sign. The staff was really friendly. The ambiance was ok. Overall, the food was not good. There were a few dishes that we liked, the bread & the ribeye Kabobs. Also, there was only one cube of chicken in the Chicken Subo Pasta dish. Here's a tip: don't call this a chicken dish if it is not. This way guest won't have that expectation. Everything else was just ok. I really wanted to like this place. But it was underwhelming. There are too many good restaurants in the area to spend your money here. I don't know how they are going to survive. I hope they figure it out.

If I was rating purely on decor - I would give it four stars. Interior is very eclectic and all over the place. There are flowers and pillows and carved wall with huge crystal chandelier in the middle - total mess confusion but amusing. Food is mediocre. Rice and cous cous were not bad, but my ribeye was very chewy and tough. Waitress was highly unpleasant. But most disappointing was the fact that this restaurant doesn't serve coffee or dessert! (Or at least that's what our Waitress told us). Will not come back and would not recommend. There are far better places out there.

Fun Decor in downtown Royal Oak, date night with hubby. We shared the lamb chops which were out of this world delish as was the accompanying couscous with pomegranate. Hubby started with Israeli pistachio potatoes, yum. 4 star because I shared with the waiter that I came in due to a picture of charred carrots that looked really good & I ordered that for starters. When he brought them he said he knows they look different but are just as good. We left 1/2 there and as any chef knows whole carrots are much more flavorful than mini processed carrots. I just would have appreciated knowing prior since I came in for "that." Also, on me that I did not know "harissa" is a very spicy sauce however nice for wait staff to mention these things. Would return. The Reservations on One Table is a plus for us.

Love the vibe of this place!! Such a fun place for a girls night. I love Mediterranean food and they have tons of healthy options. The sides don't come with the meal - you order them separate and they are shared portions. I've tried the cauliflower, hummus and bread, carrots, salad, potatoes and I've loved them all. I do wish the protein portions were a little bigger (I love protein!) but other than that we had a great experience both times we went. Super fun drinks too!

I still have hope for this place! They are still very new and definitely in that "figuring it out stage". We had a reservation for 7 and waited almost 40 minutes past our reservation time and the hostess was very rude when we inquired on how much longer the wait would be. Eventually the manager came up to us and apologized basically the hostess sat a 2 top at the large table which we had reserved - her just sharing this insight made us a little more understanding, she also comped our apps for the mixup. I can appreciate whenever a restaurant tries to right a bad experience. Aside from that the decor in the restaurant is really cool and a great place for a fun night out. The drinks were very good, especially the tequila matcha one (forgot the name). The food was hit and miss - the girls who got the lamb did not like it, said it was very dry and over cooked. I had the ribeye medium rare and it was good. I will come back again - and hopefully can update.

It was a lovely experience and the food was for the most part very delicious. Service was friendly and good but a tad on the slow side (not our server's fault, they seemed pretty busy and I think she may have been the only waitress working, so she was absolutely juggling a ton). They were out of the "pretty potatoes" which was disappointing because they sounded super delicious. The restaurant is a little dark and when very busy can get a little loud. The three women at the table next to us were having a very loud conversation (of which I picked up every word) and I could barely hear my fiancé, which I didn't love, so the acoustics are a bit odd. That being said, the decor and vibe is very home-y and everyone that works there was very pleasant and lovely, from the hostess to the man that refilled our waters. We got the charcuterie plate (selected two cheeses and two meats; comes accompanied by fig jam, mustard, sardinian crackers, and cornichons), the caesar salad, the short rib, the arctic char, and the olive oil cake for dessert. All of the food was really exceptional and delicious except I found the short rib to be a tad dry. We each ordered a cocktail, I got a spritzer and my fiancé got a seasonal Pimm's cup-type cocktail that used house-made cranberry syrup. They can accommodate gluten free diets easily which is also a plus. Overall, we will absolutely be coming back!I want to try that Wagyu Pastrami Reuben!

We went for trivia and expected it to be the same as always, unfortunately it was not. They erased our points we've earned for a free glass, these are no longer honored. The menu has significantly changed: flights are $2-$3 more, no longer include flight bites, an upcharge for premium pours (which is understandable), no longer has a $5 bottle credit, and each glass is now $3-$5 more per pour. Why did you have to make every last item on the menu more expensive? I understand that the economy and inflation contribute to these things, but to increase the price and get less on everything throughout the menu plus not honor points earned for a free glass is a slap in the face. I'm just crushed at the blatant disrespect for the regulars that come every week for trivia or other events, no warning. Our trivia night just got a whole lot more expensive and we will be looking at other locations with more reasonably priced beverages and snacks. I hope they still allow us to bring in our own food, they did this week but who knows if that will also change. The staff seemed stressed telling us the new rules as well.

He was very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. He also checked up on us frequently and made sure we were doing well. I got an aperol spritz which was nice and refreshing. The starter bread was very soft and warm. We split of one of the specials (arancini alla norma) which was excellent. We also got the insalata mista which was exactly what you would expect. It was a pretty small portion, but otherwise, there was not much to note. I got a rigatoni alla norma for my main. The tomato sauce was excellent. It was acidic and vibrant which complemented the roasted eggplant and cheese very well. I also had a bite of the rigatoni alla vodka which I would totally order next time. The bartender greeted me warmly. He was cool and I hate that I didn't ask his name. He was attentive and masterful with the spirits. He asked if it was my first time, which it was, and since so, made me a tasty "welcome" drink with gin that was fantastic. I also ordered "the panty snatcher" a concoction of vodka, grapefruit, St Germain, rose water and orange. It was amazing. I will definitely be back for drinks. The drink menu is quite tempting. I had the Corn, Corn, Corn dish, which is polenta and corn kernels topped with popcorn. Yes, super unique and interesting. I had to try it. The popcorn was so light and flavorful straight out of the kitchen, but became chewy as it sat atop the piping hot polenta. I really enjoyed it however. Next time I'll eat all the popcorn first. I also had lobster dumplings, which was good but the dish wasn't cooked through. The filling wasn't hot and the pasta was very under on some bites. I was the first customer for the evening, so I can forgive that faux pas. I really enjoyed myself and I will return time and time again to try everything. The menu offers many things I love. Great concept. Cool vibes.
