Hunter was incredibly thorough (pulled out appliances and sealed a hole he found), respectful (everything went back into where he found it and he put on shoe covers before coming in), and nice. He was very knowledgeable and explained what he was doing and information about mice in general. He just left from our two week follow up and the mouse was caught. He once again looked for activity in all the areas he had set traps, took all the appliances out and put them back again and explained what he thought had occurred. Overall excellent service and incredibly well done! If we need them again they're our top choice!

Moving to the sorta-country has exposed me to insects that I didn't even know existed…read more I'm talkin creepy crawlies on a Jurassic scale. Bugs so big that they've made me afraid to step out of my home. I'm a city girl and I am just not used to this... ...And I wasn't about to get used to this either, so I hopped on Yelp to gather some quotes for some much needed pest control services. Chris from First Gen was one of the first to respond, and he was by far the most professional. He was able to squeeze me in for a next day consultation and he was both incredibly personable and wonderfully professional the whole time. During our appointment, I didn't feel like I was being sold on anything. Instead of trying to pressure me into one solution or another, he took the time to ask informed questions and get a better understanding of my needs and concerns, before making any recommendations. I walked him through the areas of my property where I was seeing the most activity and he was able to take my vague descriptions to help me identify exactly what I was seeing (because I swear some of these bugs I've never seen before in my life. There must be some new ones out here!). He then developed a customized treatment plan for how to address these particular pests, and keep them away so that I can enjoy my patio, my yard, and ultimately my property with a greater degree of comfort and ease. We scheduled my first appointment for the day after our consultation. He was very mindful and respectful of my property, as well as mindful not to disrupt my workday (since I work from home) as he perform the treatments. The cost of the services was more than fair, especially given how thorough he was with the treatments... and how please I am with the results. Chris was able to answer all of my questions thoroughly, as well as explain every product he used (He even had eco-friendly pest control products!), what it was used for, and what I could expect in the coming days and weeks. At the end of the appointment, I felt like I had a good understanding of what services were performed, which products were intended to treat which problem, and what to expect from future appointments. So far, things have been just as Chris described. I've seen exponentially less creepy crawlies (most of the ones I have seen have been dead, allowing me to sweep them into the grass) and the mosquito activity has plummeted dramatically. I feel much more comfortable not only being able to go outside again, but also to have friends and family over to hang out in the yard without having to worry about us being attacked by the worst that nature has to offer. Thanks Chris! I'll see you at our next appointment.

So, mice are what I had. This company is contracted through my COA. They came out in a timely manner. The technician (owner's son) educated me on the mindset of a mouse, what to look for, techniques that work and don't and how to revise how I store my ramen in my pantry. He pulled out my appliances and found holes and droppings were nearby. He filled the holes, and brought traps and discarded my mouse in my electric trap. He even found a hole in my garage. Given I wasn't infested, caught it early on and the location of the droppings we deduced that my issue was secondary to that of my neighbors. My house was basically their resting place to their trek on the Underground Railroad. The visit was about an hour long, because we chatted throughout. He was very thorough, helpful, transparent and professional. I would recommend this company to anyone who needs to prevent an infestation, has the beginning of one and those in the midst of a full blown one. As much as I was impressed by this company, I hope to never need them again (for the inside of my home). So... now that "this house is clean" **in my poltergeist voice** I can sigh in relief.

They showed up a couple of hours after the estimated time window, citing a delay at a previous job. It happens, not a big deal. They came and sprayed around the outside, plugged some gaps, and set up 3 or 4 bait traps and some sticky traps. This took all of 20 minutes. They talked me into a one year service plan that costs $1484. (I immediately felt I had been strong armed by the technician). He had also said the only way we would resolve the mouse problem was to replace all of the insulation in a part of the house. The cost was $10,000+. I declined their upsell. (A second opinion advised this insulation was unnecessary). The service plan was to come back in a month to reassess the mouse situation and replace traps. We scheduled the next service with a window of 9 am - 12 pm. I stayed home from work to wait for them. After hearing nothing , I called at 11 am for a status. I was told they were running behind and could not be there until 1 pm. That didn't work for me so we rescheduled for the next day from 8am - 11am. I stressed that I was only available until 8:45. They reassured me that I would be the first appointment. (We live about 20 minutes from their office). The following day, we stayed home again. Heard nothing until 8:26 when the technician said they were running late and could be there after 9. Frustrated, we adjusted our schedule and waited. The technician showed up reeking of weed. It was apparent the technician had smoked very recently. Perhaps that was part of the reason for the delay. They did the service and left in about 20 minutes. The technician offered to take $50 off for our trouble. Strangely, he Venmo'ed us $25 from his personal account. I called later to express my concerns. I spoke directly to the owner, Thomas. He was professional and offered to personally come back and take a look at the mouse problem. He said he'd cancel our contract and prorate the money if we wished. I stressed I had a very short time window and had to leave the house by 8:45. He assured me multiple times that he'd be "in your driveway by 7:30". The next day, after hearing nothing, I called at 8:30. Thomas had forgotten our appointment. He said he could be there in 20 minutes. I reminded him how he quite literally guaranteed that he'd be in our driveway by 7:30. He eventually said "You're right, you got me". He agreed to refund us our money for the contract. To his credit, Thomas heard my complaint with professionalism and was apologetic. His offer to take care of the issue personally at no additional cost was appreciated. Had he followed through, we would have likely remained customers. I followed up 3 times over the next 3 weeks. Heard nothing until a month later. They refunded me $935, thereby charging me over $500 for two service appointments that took all of 20-30 minutes each. We still have mice. Edit: to suggest this is fabricated is ridiculous and dishonest. Everything is documented in emails.

We decided at the time to do a treatment out of precaution and proceed with annual services. Our provider we previously worked with retired and turned his business over to Chris. Chris offered us the same fair rate we previously had and graciously set us up for automatic appointments. I love that I get reminders as it's approaching. Furthermore, they make it super easy to pay our bill online. Recently, we unfortunately had some bees that had stung our little one in our backyard. I was able to leave a voicemail and get a return call and an appointment quickly. The admin was very knowledgeable and was able to give me a strong understanding of the process and a starting point on what we could expect for pricing. Chris arrived on-time and had an automated text sent to me to say he was 30 minutes away. This is so helpful for someone like me who works from home but is always in meetings. We reviewed the area together, told me what his approach was going to be, provided a price and we quickly agreed to service it immediately so my daughter could get back to playing in our backyard. He gave me advice on how long to keep the dog and toddler out of the yard as well as things to look for in the next few days. I am so thankful that we have a partner in removing pests with Bug Squashers and Chris. I am thoroughly impressed with the service, quality, and can't recommend him enough!
