I found MTB randomly on Yelp due to an unfortunate emergency in my newly renovated home. I had a rare issue with powder post beetles in the newly installed stairs. MTB was super responsive to my inquiries on yelp and even more responsive to my calls. I found them to be very professional, knowledgeable, and extremely accommodating to my schedule. More importantly, I didnt feel like they were trying to nickel and dime me. As advertised they wore face masks and shoe covers the entire time. I texted and called on 1/17/2023, because the problem has not been resolve. the voicemail was full and no response to my text message I feel like this was a waste as I have to call another pest control service that will come on 1/20/2023. I just bought a home..... ahhhhhhhhhhh Spiders! Not sure how so many ended up in my home but a family of them moved in. Gross, big, and just walking all over the place with no invite. Ugh! I kill them with brooms, 3 of them and more kept coming in. Welp, that's why I love Yelp. I got estimates for price and ETS. They were not the cheapest but they were the quickest ones to come out. Useless waste of money. And he was late. . I found a mouse in my bedroom and normally in the past I would just get a cat but I am not in a position of having a pet right now. When I spoke with Milton on the phone I was told I would be getting a thorough inspection and repair of any holes that were possible sources of entry for this mouse. He told me he didn't find any which I find hard to believe. He said I MIGHT have a hole behind my furnace and I was like well aren't you supposed to look? Isn't that the whole reason you're here? He barely moved my stove, looked inside a few cabinets, opened one of my closet doors and called it a day. I did a basic Google search regarding the health risks of having a mouse in the house and when I tried to discuss it with him he seemed clueless. He even told me that I couldn't get sick from mouse droppings. Are you kidding me! He Is by no means an expert on mice infestation. He basically spent about 30 minutes including outside my home and threw down some basic ass glue traps that I could have purchased myself at Lowe's. On top of that he didn't even honor the voucher that I purchased from Yelp so I ended up having to get a refund it. If you have a mouse problem do not call this company. read more

I contacted MTB Pest Control and within the week a technician arrived to service my concerns. Milton, the technician, was very friendly and knowledgeable of the situation I was dealing with. He answered all questions, provided great advice on keeping away the problem, and he was very thorough in treating my property. Please do not make false advertisements! I called about a mice problem in my garage hoping to get someone to come out that day since it was advertised 24 hour service. Not only was Milton not coming out that day but he proceeded to tell me what he would not be doing or moving before I had a chance to explain my problem. So he came out the next morning, threw down a few traps in my garage, collected $150 and called it a morning. On to his next job I suppose. This certainly was not a $150 job. MTB went room by room (including the utility closets, pantry, looking behind our couch) in laying down traps, identifying signs of rodents and sealing any holes with steel wool. When I saw evidence of critter activity, my first call was to a company I'd used to traps raccoons and birds in the last. They came out, identified the "critters" (rats!), set a few traps and left. The rat activity increased and none of the haphazardly places traps caught anything. Frustrated and disappointed, I asked a few friends and a property management company who they recommend and surprisingly they all said MTB Pest Control. I contacted MTB and left a voicemail message describing the issue. I received a prompt response via text message and was able to further explain the issue and set up an appointment for two days later. The day of the appointment, Mr. Brown of MTB arrived promptly (early, actually), showed respect for my home by wearing show covers immediately, and got down to business. He did a thorough inspection, plugged up holes that weren't current entry point, but had the potential to be, and put down more traps than even the stealthiest of rats could not avoid. He was friendly, patient, professional, and knowledgeable. Every aspect of it was a far better experience than what I received from the "highly reputable" company I initially called. I thought I was hiring a Professional to find out how mice are getting into my condo? I've met with a couple of other companies but none offered to do what I wanted. I needed to find out how they're getting in and want any mice in the home removed and the entry holes filled. Finally, I wanted a but spray. Milton told me everything I wanted to hear. I even sent him a text confirming he was to locate and close any holes accessible, he was to move the refrigerator and oven to check for holes, remove any mice and close the holes. He never moved anything. He did remove a couple of dead mice in the cabinets, did the bug spray and called it a day. When I asked about closing the holes and checking behind the appliances he told me I need to get a Professional that knows what they're doing for that??? I thought that was what I hired??? Previously used another local company as renters here in Silver Spring but the landlords are cheap and have racked up an outstanding balance so I needed to have pest control on my way out of this dump. Bought a home in Temple Hills, MD of my own that is currently under repair due to busted water pipes (freeze) over the winter due to cheapskate sellers. I reached out to MTB Pest Control and we made an appointment for Sunday April 12th. I found this highly unusual because I wanted the service completed but did not expect the service to be performed not only quickly and promptly but on a Sunday for crying out loud. And to boot, the service appointment was more thorough than the previous provider's services. Extremely impressed! Most of the other pest control companies wanted to charge me double to schedule weekend appointments. Not @MTB. I am so looking forward to working with this company. Milton is great! I recently bought a house that was INFESTED with cockroaches and he managed to get rid of all of them for me. It took 4 visits but it worked as I haven't seen a cockroach in over a year and you have to understand how discussing it was before he came in that I didn't even want to live there. Milton was great and he always showed up on time and was very flexible as to when he could come to the house (if you ask him he could even come in the middle of the night!). His prices are very fair as well. Unfortunately, I have had to use Milton more than once. I went on a trip to new york and about a month after I noticed red stuff on my arms/legs and shoulders. It was defenetly bed bugs that i had brought back to my house! I called milton back and he came back immediately and helped us get the bed bugs out of our house. Milton even took the time to educate us on how to avoid future bed bug incidents by inspecting the hotel beds before lying down and washing our clothes immediately after a trip and before we put it in the closet. We had to replace all of the mattresses as we have cats that would carry all of the bed bugs from one bed to another. Fortunately for us, Milton did a great job dissinfecting all of the couches and furniture as we have not had a bed bug infestation since milton came in. Also, what I liked about milton was that even though he came to get rid of the bed bugs he remembered that we previously had a cockroach issue and would re-supply our kitchen area with some stuff that gets rid of cockroaches even though we told him that we had no more cockroaches (free of charge). Let me preface by saying that my husband swears by Yelp - there's not a restaurant we eat at, a service we book or a place we go without first checking Yelp. When we had a surprise infestation of ants last night (yes, just last night, and I'm already leaving a review...), my husband immediately jumped on Yelp and came across Milton's business. He called him at 9pm, and Milton returned the call within 20 minutes. After 9pm! We told him that we had an event on Saturday and would be SO appreciative if he could fit us in today (Friday). I'd originally contacted 10 different companies to discuss the pest issues I'd been having, and after reading all of the reply messages and listening to all of the voicemails, decided to call MTB back first. I found them years ago - not sure if it was on Angie's List or Yelp - and have been extremely pleased with their responsive, customer service, and quality of work. I have a recurring ant problem, with ants coming in from the ground and into odd areas of the house: front foyer and sunroom. It occurs about every two or three years, and MTB has come in each time and quickly handled the problem. Mr. Brown has been coming by to do light pest control for me for several years. I first found him on Angie's list. Recently, I had to contact him about a mouse situation. Mr. Brown spent about 15 mins throwing traps and poison around my kitchen and left. He's not the pest control guy that is going to go into a crawl space ( what I have) to figure out where the mice are coming in from. After talking to coworkers, I got a referral for another company that did a more thorough inspection of my house to find out where the rodents are coming in, and took necessary steps using traps inside house, inside crawl space and outside my home, to address the issue. MTB is good for light jobs, but if you need rodent abatement, go elsewhere. read more

Just called to schedule a consultation and was told it is $75 for someone just to come look (even if they don't complete the service). The person I spoke to was extremely rude. I asked about the free consultation that they advertise on their website and he said that if he had to come out I would have to pay for his time and gas. While painting at night in my new house, I stumbled onto a dead roach. In my defense, I had never seen a live or a dead one before, so while I'm not proud of my actions I don't regret them: I FLIPPED THE H3LL OUT. It was bad. Real bad. I may or may not have screamed at my husband "I can return anything I WILL RETURN THIS HOUSE!" I searched Yelp for exterminators, and called MTB when I saw they were actually 'open' at the time (11pm). Milton called me back within 10-15 minutes, told me to send him a picture (obviously made my husband do that), assessed it over the phone, and said he could be there at 8 am the next morning to look/spray. I naturally spent the entire night alternating between hysterics and frantic internetting (worst idea ever). I realize now that one dead bug in the DMV does not an infestation make, and perhaps I may have overreacted the tiniest bit, but he was very good about explaining the type and behavior of my new 'friend' and at least not calling me crazy to my face. He was on time, polite, and searched through the house with us to look for signs of an infestation (found none, phew). He sprayed the inside and outside of the house, put some traps down, told us what to expect or what would be a sign of a bigger problem (more dead 'friends'...haven't seen them yet and it's been a week), and answered promptly when we called back with a few more questions after the treatment. While I didn't buy the deal through Yelp, he did offer me the same one. The visit and spray were $150. Pricing for other area exterminators seemed a bit higher, and one exterminator I called said they couldn't even come out for another two weeks.
