First and foremost, this place's workers definitely have some sort of hate towards minorities or something. I was there for a bit and they definitely provided better service to the white color folks. They were super rude to my friend and I, and let me tell you, I am a pretty respectable and polite to the staff members. She also assisted my friend in her choice: White - Media Luna Saugnon Blanc - Argentina for $10. (And yes, I am saying these names out loud with my fake, fancy accent.) Both were excellent wines as I am still trying to discover what taste I prefer. To compliment our wines, we selected the Ricotta Toast ($8), Avocado and Egg Toast ($10), and the warm goat cheese ($10). The Ricotta Toast comes with the seasonal fruit. In this case, it was strawberry, adding a kick of sweetness with my favorite cheese. I preferred this toast over the avocado and egg toast which was not as fresh as expected. The warm goat cheese was my favorite of the night. The crunchy bread went great with the cheese and cara cara oranges. Keep in mind that it's not really a dinner type of place. Who knew that the best sparkling mineral water from Mexico could cure her? Topo Chico is legendary and has been around since 1835! It has many health benefits and aside from the normal minerals, it also has Manganese which is an antioxidant not found in other brands. She felt a bit better after drinking that. (and you thought alcohol cures all?) Or maybe it was the sultry voice and hypnotic music from Brazilian guitarist Diego who was performing that evening? ;-) I loved my glass of Montrubi one night stand rose (Spain, $10) which was perfect as we watched the late afternoon sun's rays filter through the windows. My plate of simple ricotta toast with saffron honey and peaches served as a healthy substantial snack. The relaxed vibes and wonderful owner sold me on returning to Bodega. The vibe is so perfect during the day as the warm sunshine beams in and at night with the street lights and candles warmly light up the place (and of course, the wet your lips neon light). Everything they pickle is delicious. I've tried a lot of their plates and none have ever disappointed me. Eric was seriously amazing and so sweet, he let us taste a couple wines before we chose which one we wanted and was the example of a true hospitality connoisseur. We got the avo toast, trout toast and the blt (they put the bacon on the side since I don't eat meat) and we're beyond accommodating. Everything was perfect and the inside decor was really well put together. Very modern! We went on Saturday morning where they have their brunch menu until 3pm. It's with a heavy heart that I write this review. I've been to Bodega a handful of times - three times with my boyfriend, once with a friend from out of town. In general, the wine selection is great, the charcuterie and cheese is delicious, and the service is good. Nice waitresses. But here's the deal: 2 weeks ago, we sat at the bar. Bartender super friendly. We asked him about natural wines, for a few local recos, etc, thinking that he was a homie. He gave us a few things to look for in natural wines + a few 1 ounce pours of wine as a taste. We were thankful - he hooked it up. Good job, bartender! We paid and checked the appropriate box for tip. Think it was 18 percent. We forgot about our night, just remembering it as being fun but pricey - but still fun! We checked our bank statement a few days later and noticed that the bar tender had GONE INTO THE RECEIPT - AND CHECKED A DIFFERENT BOX FOR TIP - the 22 percent box! Bro. You were good, but you weren't that good. In my opinion - and prob in the opinion of others - this is straight thievery. Especially because we've been to Bodega a few times and try to support it as much as we can, we felt really weirded out. That's just such a sour thing to do. Bodega is a cool space! I'd been meaning to check it out for a while and can only wish I did so sooner. The space is small but decorated well. The menu is cute and cheeky and has a great selection of wines and small bites. Only downside I might say is that it's super loud in there which makes chatting a bit difficult. While I was there, a friend and I sipped on a glass each and shared an order of burrata toast. The wines were great, the burrata was delicious -- sweet, creamy. It's a pretty small space but when we came in on a Saturday late afternoon there were a couple of spaces available. This is a great spot to meet a friend for a quick drink that's nicer than a bar without pressure to order food. If you do want food, they have a great menu of snacks. The garlic bread was a great munchie option. They also have micheladas and sangria. I'm not sure how the parking situation is in this area as we walked, but I didn't see any lots nearby. read more

Ambiance: Dimly lit, and intimate, this place is a great date night spot. There's several tables for two and a bar seating area. Very clean, simple, and classic. Drinks: They have a variety of drinks on their menu, but for most types, there's typically just one brand to choose from. I wasn't impressed by their beer menu, but this was after all, a wine bar, so I opted for a glass of their pinot noir. Food: Once we saw food being delivered to tables, I regretted eating dinner elsewhere before -- everything looked SO GOOD. However, I can't comment on taste... Yet. I've consumed many spicy beers over the years, and this one gets my mouth watering just thinking about it. I'm not sure what their secret is, but it's worth a definite visit just for hat. Their wine and beer selection is quite killer, too. They've got a great balance of whites, reds and rosés from different areas of the United States and all over the rest of the world. Their beer selection is great, too and it's refreshed frequently. As to food, you can't order a bad thing. I will say their charcuterie board is one of the biggest I have seen and had a ton of great options on it. TLDR; extremely rude staff and no heater (unless you're friends with an employee) We sat down at a table just as the gas for the heater by our table ran out. After our drinks were brought over, we (very politely) asked if they could replace the tank and they said they were out of gas. We sat there for 45 minutes in 48 degree temperatures waiting for another table to leave. When we moved to a table with heat after another group left, the same employee that said they didn't have gas brought out a new tank of gas for the heater we had, dragged that heater over to a group of his friends and sat down and started (continued) drinking with them. That table already had another working heater so I think the extra was only benefiting the employee. If you want employees to drink with guests, great. I really don't care. But, the move with the heater was quite rude and felt malicious. I hope the owner sees and can re-train their employees to put their paying customers first. read more
