I'm a loyal breakfast burrito buyer, but today had a really rough experience. I got a single breakfast burrito, and waited an hour for it. Since it normally takes 15-20 minutes this is definitely out of the ordinary, and something that definitely should have been communicated while ordering. Sausage burrito (2.5/5) - underwhelming and had barely any sausage in it. Chorizo (3.5/5) - great flavor, but a little salty and wish there was more meat in it. Beef short rib (4/5) - meat was tender and had good flavor. Slightly overpowered the rest of the ingredients. Pork shoulder (4.5/5) - favorite of the group. It's a very cute and cozy local wine bar in SF. Located at a very busy and buzzing intersection in north beach, this place is very happening and always busy after work hours. Fortunately, the server mentioned that the Bodega melt was quite hearty, so I 86'd the tacos. I'm glad I did that because the Bodega Melt was more than enough food. The melt was solid, though I'd probably opt for the tacos just to shake it up for the next visit. It was a burger patty in between toast with cheese and veggies. What all this amounted to was exactly what you'd think - a safe bet for a tasty dinner. Shared plates, communal seating, tasty beverages and friendly folks providing all of the above. Loved my experience at Bodega! The food was delicious and the service was amazing. They have a good variety of food options and the plates are perfect to share. We ordered the burrata, the caesar salad and the short rib tacos. All of them were delicious but if I had to pick one, I'd go with the caesar. On the weekends you can get an amazing breakfast burrito from Bodega. I've never had the bacon one, which is usually sold out by the time I walk down there, but that's ok because the chorizo one is *chef's kiss*. This burrito has everything I want: meat, eggs, potatoes, and avocado. Grab an iced latte from Victoria Pastry around the corner and you are set! I've been walking past Bodega for months now on my way to various other spots on Columbus. They're muted during the day and spring to life at night. The insides are small, cozy, dimly lit and with a discernible cyberpunk vibe. The wine selection isn't an entire page of everything, but a few carefully curated selections. Bartenders are happy to give knowledgeable suggestions (the earthy pinot noir in place of the malbec for instance). Brussel sprouts turned out to be a delightfully cheese greasy affair. Outdoor seating is halfway into an alley leading to a tennis court and next to a gritty mechanic shop. Perhaps that is the Bodega part of it? On the downside, Bodegas are accompanied often by a cat (https://twitter.com/bodegacats_), this one is sans kitties, and not so nice on is the wallet, but then it's a posh wine bar in North Beach. We came across this wine bar just across the park from our dinner restaurant. So we stopped in for a quick glass of wine. Fun, lively place to have a drink and do some serious people watching. We couldn't stay long but will definitely go back when we have more time. Friendly staff and cool vibe. My friends and I have been trying to go to this place for months now, but the timings do not work with our schedule. Yesterday, we took advantage of trying out the restaurant's breakfast burrito offering early morning on Saturday to be wildly disappointed by the quality of food and service. First, the restaurant had customers lined up around the building, which may be fine on any other day, but for us is was pouring rain and they did nothing to try and accommodate us. Second, the lack of urgency across the two folks working the front while servicing the breakfast was appalling. They acted as if the line of people waiting in the rain wasn't there and were super unaware. Third, once we received our food from the space cadet working the ordering and payment system, I later noticed that the woman tipped herself $8 without my knowledge! Straight up stealing for sub par service and food. I went here and this place is worth it. I only ordered the burrata with the pumpkin seed pesto. I highly recommend it. I feel like most burratas don't hit the spot for me but this one has great bread and good mix of stone fruit and tomatoes. I would say it's a great place to get a nice drink with a bite to eat.
