Stayed at the Harbour Inn for a night on our honeymoon - we got an oceanfront lodge with a private view of the bay. The staff here were really friendly - without prompt, a hotel clerk offered to drive us down to the lodge as it was a good 300m from the check-in site and we arrived quite late after a long day of driving. Free wifi in an older, but clean room; at $150 during the offseason, I highly recommend this little inn. read more

Staff is very friendly. Got a groupon for this hotel for Christmas. It's a cute and comfy little inn. Nice lawn chairs to sit out on the grass. There is a cat that roams around and is very friendly. Our room didn't have a view but it was a nice day so the lawn chairs worked out just fine. My only dislike was the tile floors, but that's because I get cold easy. They did supply a tower heater which was nice. Would definitely come back again. read more

Enjoyed a wonderful stay at Bodega Harbor Inn last night! Great place! Cute, clean, reasonably priced, nice view of the bay and an amazing host! Thank you George for making our stay even more fun! See you next time, Lisa read more

Very quaint charming place. We stayed here when my parents were visiting from the Midwest. It was a little pricey, but in this area you really can't find just a standard hotel. It's a cute mom & pap place, the cottage was very cute, we made a fire in the fireplace and played scrabble (you can check games out from the front desk). I would definitely recommend it. Although I was a little disappointed with the "view," you can see the ocean but there are a ton of power lines in the way. read more

Super fun place to stay, away from the high dollar junk, this was super clean, inviting and friendly. Amazing location next to the kite and candy stores and fish and chips place. Its got history too and was awesome, my daughter loved it, and our doggy was welcome. I can't wait to go back. read more

This was the amazing place and the owners are fabulously beautiful people.. returning a week later to stay again.. love this place!!!

This is our favorite hotel in Bodega. This is our 4th stay here and we love it.Staff is great, always friendly and very accommodating. They let us have an early check in at 12:30 pm which was extremely helpful because I brought my dog and it was raining so it was nice that we could drop him off and go site seeing. This is just a basic comfy little hotel.Nothing fancy, but great location, cute grounds, and pretty views of bay.prices are extremely reasonable as well.I will be back definitely. read more

This Inn pre dates WWII and you can rent a room or a house or half a house on the premises. The owner George and his staff are all very friendly and customer service has always been good. This is an annual trip for our group and the owner has been making major remodel updates to the house and the rooms including updates designed to improve handicap accessibility. Its very clean, and our room (#3) had a mini fridge & Table and chairs, large bath kroon with large handicap shower that includes a fold down seat, pull down shower head, bars and low sink. Room access is pending installation of a ramp. The house also has been updated on both sides in kitchen and both bathrooms, new furnishings and with more improvements scheduled. The heaters work well and the water heaters also work great - the price point is a good deal for the location. Some rooms have a deck. It has old school charm, is close to good dining & has a grocery/deli next door. It's quiet at night, and I never hear the foghorn inside the rooms or house. read more

What a charming visit. Everyone should visit this quaint little seaside town. The owners make you feel right at home. Try for room # 1. Great deck and view. read more

I absolutely love this place! Brought my Mom for an overnight Birthday stay & she couldn't have been more pleased. The staff is amazing. So helpful & friendly. Great place to read a book overlooking the bay. The very best location in all of Bodega Bay. Second visit & we will definitely be back. read more

Our go to!!!!!! LOVE LOVE LOVE these little cabin like rooms. They are simple and clean. Fair price and a view of the bay. We are down the street at a fancy place as they were booked.... and let me say, I would rather be at the bodega harbor inn. read more

Overall this place is a nice location, great staff accommodating and peaceful. I do have to say that the rooms need a little "love" that meaning the decor. My television at home was twice the size of the one in the room and it was at an angle that would have been much better hung on the wall. Mini fridge would be nice and Some artwork of Sonoma county or pictures on the wall of different beach settings would be great, it's a little sterile...different bedding such as alternative down bedding with fluffy pillows which can be purchased from Costco within a reasonable price. When you pay your hard working money which at time could be your last before getting paid again to get away, there should be a feeling of "ahhh" relaxing just what I needed. I was a little disappointed with the room to be honest. I hope this is helpful to the property for some constructive criticism read more

No major complaints however probably wouldn't stay again. Pros: affordable and in a great location. Also, staff was very pleasant. Cons: not very clean, bed was uncomfortable, and "private deck" was not private at all. There were stains on the sheets and the room was very outdated. Continental breakfast was pretty good and included items such as bagels, cinnamon roll bites, coffee, and juice. read more

I have never given a review on yelp. Then again, I've never been so angry about the customer service I've received. I bought the Travel Zoo deal. $115 (a Friday night), plus a bottle of wine and 3 vine tasting vouchers for my parents as a Christmas gift. When I called to make a reservation at the end of February, I was told that all the Fridays within the deal's time period are booked. The woman I spoke with (I hate myself for not taking note of her name) said she "isn't supposed to do this, but would give me a reservation on March 27 -- which is outside the deal's time period." I was really happy, that was so accommodating of her! Today is March 27. My parents drove two hours and when they got there, they were told that their reservation had never been changed from FEBRUARY 27 to March 27 and that there was nothing that could be done. This is absolutely impossible as I had discussed at length with my parents what dates they would be able to go, and had talked to the woman who booked for me several times to ensure that March 27 would be confirmed. I called the inn immediately after I heard this from my dad -- and the lady at the check-in table was so rude and unhelpful. Every time I reassured her that I had made the March 27 reservation, she told me that it was not true. I asked her why she couldn't even see my side... and she said "are you calling me a liar? are you calling ME stupid?" That was not at all what I was implying, I was simply asking her why she couldn't understand my surprise at the situation. I asked if there was anything that could be done since they had driven all the way there and she just said no. I was silent for a few seconds and eventually realized she had hung up on me. I am so upset. I know $110 is not an exorbitant amount, but I'm a full-time graduate student paying my own way through school and I wanted to do something nice for my parents - who took off from work and drove to see the beautiful Bodega Bay. And instead, both my parents and I had to deal with an extremely difficult person. Again, I'm very upset. I want to be clear, I did not raise my voice or shout obscenities by any means. I called and expressed frustration and asked what had happened. This type of service is completely uncalled for. It's just necessary. Will definitely be calling Amazon. read more

My girlfriend and I went there for New Years and we loved it! We didn't stay in a regular room, instead we stayed at the House Cottage. I recommend staying here because the room comes with a king size bed, kitchen, and a nice bathroom. Oh yeah before I forget, this room comes with a Jacuzzi!!! So I recommend getting this place instead of a regular room. The place has just about everything you need a microwave, plates, eating utensils, and cups. The only thing my girlfriend and I DIDN'T like was that the hot water for the shower only lasts about fifteen minutes. After that, you gotta jump out of the shower. Yeah it's that cold! Overall, I recommend staying at the Cottage. We paid $100 per night (Off Season) but regular price is $200 per night. I hope this review helps. Oh one last thing, the staff was VERY HELPFUL AND NICE!!! read more

Had a great stay with the hubby this week, easy going staff and a homey feel. I don't recommend this spot for up tight/ mainstream consumers. This is a place for people who enjoy being in the presence of real people and not over trained corporate employees whom are paid to smile. read more

This place was great! and the staff along with it. My boyfriend and I stayed in the little blue cozy cottage. There was a king size bed, a nice big screen TV, clean bathroom, kitchen sink (tea and coffee too), patio outside, and a jacuzzi. We paid about $154.00 including tax for one night. I am very big on cleanliness of a place and this definitely met my standards. The staff were accommodating, friendly, and just a sincere genuine people. They also include continental breakfast (bagels, toast, oatmeal, cinnamon buns, coffee, tea, orange juice). In addition, we had a beautiful foggy misty view of the bay. We will definitely be coming again. Thank you to the staff for making it such a great experience for us. read more

We loves our experience here. We had a one bedroom cottage with a kitchenette, private hot tub, bbq and a private decks with a decent view of the bay. The lady at the office has quite the personality and we found her pretty entertaining. It was a short walk to local shops and restaurants from our cottage. Also, the sport fishing dock is within walking distance. We stayed Saturday night and went fishing Sunday morning. Sunday evening we were grilling fresh fish and hanging out in the hot tub before watching a movie in bed (the tv is pretty good for hotel/cottage standards). I hope we stay here again. read more

My boyfriend and I came here for one night, we went to sleep, locked the door and closed the window. When we woke up, the front door was open and unlocked... I mean COMPLETELY open for everyone to see us sleeping in bed, like someone had unlocked the door, came in and left it open. Creepy. Needless to say, we check if our things were all still there and left. read more

First time in bodega and this was a place that was reasonably priced and had a good location. The front desk people where extremely nice and the man gave us a few pointers on food and activities in the area. The hotel is a cute little place with a nice view to have a wine or beer in there lounge area in the morning or pm. Over looks the bay/harbor minus the trees that block 75% of it. The rooms are a decent size for two people. They do allow dogs. The beds aren't very comfy, and the whole place could use a face lift and slight remodel. You can just tell its an aged hotel. It's kind of right in the middle of town and takes 5-10 minutes to get just about everywhere. read more

I can't rate this hotel but after a failed reservation I wanted to make a note; their website indicates that pets are permitted in several of the rooms. When I called, they actually have a weight limit of 25 pounds for your pet. I didn't see this on their website so it's just something to be aware of if you are traveling with anything larger than a picnic basket. So, we have never stayed here. read more

We liked it here. Quiet. Moderate price. Awesome, friendly staff. Small but adequate room, tiny but adequate bathroom.. very old but all we needed. We'd go back next time. read more

Loved this place . My boyfriend and I stayed for a couple of days in the Pelican House 2. We didn't want to leave. It was very nice and clean . It has recently been renovated and George did a great job. The bed is very comfortable. The bathroom is nice and large with a great shower. It was fun to sit on the deck right on the water. We met some great people staying right next door and had the best time all hanging out . Nikki was very nice from the initial phone call when I made the reservation. It was just an overall great experience. The house was very clean , however , in the living room there were cob webs hanging from the ceiling in a couple places but honestly with everything else being so clean it's really not that major of a deal. We will be back for sure . Bodega Bay is a beautiful area and I'm so glad we found our place to stay . Thank you ! read more

This review is to update one I posted on 4-22-20. After calling and asking again that someone reach out to me regarding my deposit, and the failure to contact me regarding this, George, the owner did. I am satisfied with the outcome. Hence the " 3 stars". I do feel under these circumstances that everyone needs to be understanding and patient. read more

WOW! we stayed 1 night in the deluxe room, which is really a cottage, with a private deck and hot tub. The room was very quaint and lovely, we enjoyed the privacy and the total experience. The staff was exceptional! We loved it and I have recommended The Bodega Harbor Inn to everyone I have told about my trip! read more

Dated, but the price is right and one should expect "quaint" in a town the size of Bodega Bay. Most rooms I've seen there have some ambiance (furnishings). Beds (in #15) we thought not comfortable Lg. bathroom w/ tub/shower, very new fixtures in bathroom and kitchen. Nice communal lawn area to relax on, not an expansive view but nice w/ some Cypress trees across street. Dogs allowed in 4-5 of the rooms, definitely a plus. Nice managers who really welcome dogs and kids. read more

My sister & I stayed here for 1 night during the first week of January and absolutely enjoyed the heck outta it!!! The view was fantastic and the restaurant recommended was off the charts... The gal at the front desk was so very charming. I would so come back. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars was the woodstove door wouldn't close properly so it wouldn't give off any heat.... read more

"Bait and Switch, no, but only barely. I came across Bodega Harbor Inn in a deal offered by Amazon Local. A queen room, some tastings, and a bottle of wine for 85$ (advertised as valued at $184). Our wedding anniversary was coming up and I thought a trip along the coast would be a nice surprise for my wife. The surprise was for me. After I checked the website and pricing, it sounded like a good deal with the tastings, a wine bottle, and a room with an ocean view. I bought the voucher and tried to make a reservation. I called at 9:15am and was greeted by a voice-mail message saying that the office wasn't 'open until 9:00am, for reservations leave a message'. I left a message with my name, phone, and the date for the reservation. Seven hours later I tried again. I told the woman who answered that I wanted one of the queen rooms with a view of the harbor (priced at $115 on the Inn's webpage). I told her I had the amazon voucher, she promptly informed me it only applied to the standard queen rooms ($75 on the Inn's webpage and did not include a view. (None of this was on the Amazon information or the voucher). When I tried to work something out with her since I had paid $85 that could only be used on $75 room, I was told 'You can always return it.' I did and that was only positive part of the experience. They probably escaped the criteria for Bait and Switch only because of the winery tastings and a bottle of wine from an undisclosed vineyard. Having worked with marketing in a number of sectors, it is almost guaranteed they were given to the Inn for free or at a steeply discounted price." read more

Stayed in the Pelican 1 at the cottage overlooking the bay. Cute little room had a king size bed (not sure if the sheets were clean though... found a couple hairs on the sheets, a lil sand, and smelled funny) who knows, nothing is like your own bed & sheets, microwave, mini fridge & freezer, coffee maker, flat screen tv w/cable, sitting area w/2 chairs & coffee table, bathroom w/shower only. Plenty of hot water & the hot tub was hot!! View of the bay was relaxing, bbq on outside deck w/chairs. Steps from the water. Located directly next to a wine bar & a hop, skip & a jump to the Tides for some clam chowder (food the the Tides is awful, overpriced. Your paying for the view!) We went to dinner about a mile away at the Terrapin Creek Cafe. Excellent choice, a lil pricey but the food is amazing. Definitely 5 star restaurant, Zagat Rated! Lisa was very helpful upon check-in. I mentioned the website price was lower than the price charged & she stated she couldnt discount it because she already charged our room but if we return she would discount our next visit. Yay, because we will definitely be back. Ive stayed at the Inn at the Tides before which was about $60 more which isnt worth it when you can get this lil private cottage for less thats right on the water. read more

our visit was nice, room was very clean, private hot tub was nice, but lets remember who is paying who for a room, if I leave a dirty dish or crumbs on the counter, I am paying not to have to do it myself, that's kind of the point of maid service. if you get the room with the hot tub watch out for ants in your stuff . . . . read more

Rustic charm! The room was functional and clean which was great. Things are dated and there were several minor issues or inconveniences. The biggest of which was my room had no alarm clock or clock at all. Let me start out by saying that this place isn't a 5 star resort. Don't go expecting that. It is however, cozy and unique. Upon arriving it's a small town cozy cabin atmosphere with bright colors interspersed here and there. It's quiet and has a pretty awesome view on the back side of it, should you venture behind the office. It's rough edges accentuate the small town feel of it. Sure it could use some touch ups here and there and maybe a little updating but again, this isn't a 5 star resort. It's a place that feels almost like home. When we arrived we found out that a tree had fallen on our cottage but that we had been upgraded to one of their vacation houses. Score! The cottage had a private hot tub and so did the house so we were happy with that. The "private" hot tub for the Harbor House IS NOT private, however. It is in full street view! We were greeted by a gaggle of kids getting off of a bus while we were trying to have a relaxing glass of wine and a soak. Needless to say that was a little weird. The hot tub for the King Cottage is not so private either, as it is directly behind Harbor House. So don't go thinking you can *ahem* get romantic with either locations. Also, because of the tree falling there was a slight ant problem in the HH kitchen. Which shouldn't be a problem anymore since we were told it was only because they were stirred up from the tree fall and the extermination guys were going to be there the next day. And lastly, the woman working the front desk on Feb. 11th was the most amazing woman. She apparently had been sick and had some family issues and had only had 3 hrs of sleep but she was still super happy and helpful. Every question we asked her she was right there with an answer. She directed us to two locations for dinner and then breakfast and both turned out acceptable. She told us about Goat Rock Beach were the last scene of The Goonies was filmed. (That was fun to see and it wasn't far from the Inn) And then told us about an awesome spa that we weren't able to visit but we drove by it and it looked really nice. She was just super accommodating and nice. And, I'm assuming, the owners that we saw the next day were also nice and down-to-earth people. So I think we'll be back. Even with the rough edges and the ant thing. read more

My friends and I were on a girls road trip and spent one night here. The staff was friendly and so wonderful that we felt instantly at ease. We stayed in the beautiful pelican 2. I loved it. It is modern and looks noting like the online photos. It was beautiful. The view, furniture and whole home. We only stayed one night. I thought it was a nice room. The woman at the desk when we checked in was very nice. My only complaint would be the parking lot. My girl and I rode my motorcycle. If I could give this place more stars I would. It is walking distance from a lot, the staff was above and beyond amazing. We stayed on Valentines Day so we got one of the last rooms and the room was small but it's meant to be. The owner is apparently an avid antique collector and every room is unique. Ours was just beautiful. It is affordable compared to other places. Totally recommend and we will stay loyal to this quaint little place. read more
