However, the overall upkeep of the property could use more attention. There were dishes and glasses left sitting around, and I ended up bringing some back to Drake's myself because they were an eyesore. More frequent cleanup and attention to the common areas would make a noticeable difference. The porches also need some maintenance or refurbishment, as two people ended up getting splinters from them. At the Lounge restaurant, the lighting was too bright for a relaxing dining atmosphere. Some background music indoors would also help soften the sound of conversations and create a more inviting ambiance, especially since the outdoor music was so enjoyable. My sea bass or black cod was cooked nicely, but the overall dish was disappointing. The soupy bean sauce with fish on top didn't work particularly well, and the dish could have benefited from a vegetable or a more complementary starch rather than the heavy, soup-like combination. The mussels were overcooked and rubbery, and the fries didn't taste fresh. Staffing also seemed inadequate for a Saturday night, with only two people covering both indoor and outdoor areas. This meant waiting a long time for everything, but Daisy did her best. Drinks from the bar were great too. The bartender (blonde woman) was lovely and makes a great Negroni. Overall, there are some genuinely wonderful amenities here, particularly the clean pool, sauna, and hot tub. With better maintenance, more attentive housekeeping, improved restaurant execution, and adequate staffing, the experience could be better. The location is right in the central part of Bodega Bay. Note that their restaurant (The Tides) is across the busy highway. On line reservations were easy, and staff super friendly despite my calls to make changes a few times:). I had reserved a room with a patio, since I wanted to be able to open the door and sit outside to take in the bay. Rooms with patios are only on the ground floor, and we were in building 12. The room was super clean and lovely, spacious as well. No strange smells as has been mentioned, but their was a heating unit under a window, and the carpet was wet underneath it. Mentioned this to the front desk staff and immediately were offered another room. This was not really a big deal, so told them it could be addressed after our checkout. It was furnished beautifully, however the bathroom looked a bit dated but clean nonetheless. Plenty of parking in front of the building and also come covered parking spots. A small fridge was in the room, and a small coffee maker for one cup at a time. I found that running water through it enabled me to make tea. Breakfast is included with the room, and this consists of a continental breakfast (granola, muffin, fruit cup, coffee) across the street at The Tides, from 8a-11am. Not a buffet, the plate is served to you. If you want a breakfast off the menu, the breakfast voucher can be used for 25% off an ordered breakfast. We did this both days, and the food was good, standard fare. The seating area looks over the bay and very serene. In the mornings, coffee, hot water for tea are available in the lobby area. They have local newspapers each day, and the view is amazing. A nice place to wait until it is breakfast time. The coffee is average, and cools off quickly. The landscaping is amazing, and well maintained. Walkable paths between the buildings, but places to walk are sketchy along the highway. Staff were endlessly friendly, helpful and accommodating. Overall, it was a nice getaway. Our room was about $350/night, probably right for the location and amenities (pool, hot tub, fitness center). However, the rooms seemed a bit 'tired', and could use some updating in terms of the bathrooms, coffee provided (how about serving one of our great local coffees? Bella Rosa, Black Oak, etc?) We did however get a complimentary bottle of local wine with check in. Not really as lush or luxurious as other hotels in that price range. Having said all that, would still stay here again.

Free continental breakfast was pretty good. Not sure why a croissant and a muffin were needed, especially since the muffin was a bit uninspired, but can't complain about free. The granola and juice were quite good. Would I stay again, probably, but not saying I won't shop around first to see if anything else hits me better.

We were only staying one night, so we booked the smallest room. If we return for a longer stay, we'd probably opt for a larger room. That said, if you're in Bodega Bay, hopefully you're spending most of your time exploring rather than sitting in your room! The rooms include mini fridges and a coffee station, and the lobby has a larger coffee and tea station as well as a microwave. Parking is located right outside your room, which makes loading and unloading easy. The location is also very convenient. It's within walking distance of a grocery store that has just about everything you might need, including a deli. The Birds Cafe is right across the street and serves coffee, delicious breakfasts, oysters, lobster rolls, and more - all with fantastic views. Overall, this is a great spot if you're looking for a comfortable stay with incredible views and easy access to everything Bodega Bay has to offer.

Our most recent experience was not great with newer employee (Gina). When we arrived on WED we were happy to get our keys to the Harbor House as it was our first time to stay in this house. We got into the house and we realized it smelled of gas. There was one burner that was taped off with do not use on the tape. It was obvious that the Inn was aware there was a problem, yet this was not taken care of properly prior to our arrival. We returned to the office to inform them with our concerns in the Harbor House. Gina let us know that she has had other guests with the same complaints but she said it had been recently serviced. She said if it made us feel better she could have the handyman come look at it again in the morning. She tried to reach the him, but there was no answer and she had to leave a message. Gina did assure us that the owners daughter had just stayed in the Harbor House with no complaints. We chose to stay the night and have the handyman check the stove in the morning. It was two days before the stove was checked so we were not able to use the heat or stove until Friday evening. The young man who worked on the stove let us know it was leaking gas because it was not fixed correctly. We also had some attitude from Gina when we tried to get 4 wash cloths and more coffee for the coffee maker. We also had to ask for toilet paper twice because we only had 2 spare rolls for 4 adults staying 5 nights (6 days). We should have been offered a discount for the 3 days we were not able to safely use the heater and stove due to the gas leak. We have decided that we will have to move on and find a new place to stay for our yearly vacation to Bodega Bay. I think things would have been handled differently had George or Steve been running the office that week. We are very lucky that the house did not blow up nor did we have poisoning due to the natural gas leak. Keeping all the windows open until it was properly serviced was difficult because it was so cold, but we are still here to share this story. Looking back on this we never should have stayed in the home but I am happy to be alive. We are just disappointed that our trip was not enjoyable and we paid extra to stay in the house when we would have had a better vacation just renting a room without these issues.

The beach is beautiful, the cabins are cozy, and my kids have an amazing time every visit. That said, it's changed over the years. The general store is extremely expensive, and the selection is pretty limited, so it's best to bring your own groceries and supplies. It also feels like the rules have become much stricter, and overall it's gotten a lot more expensive than it used to be. Even with those downsides, Dillon Beach is still a place we'll continue to visit because of the memories we've made and the quality time we get to spend together. I just wish it were a little more affordable and a bit less restrictive than it is today.

The room itself was very clean, sheets, bathroom, everything was very clean. I always get paranoid about bed bugs and we had zero issues. The breakfast in the morning was also very nice and fresh with good options. They had eggs, sausage, toast, bagels, cream cheese, very delicious fruit, oatmeal, coffee and tea. That alone made it a reasonable place to stay. The dining room was also very clean. I also really liked that they had the outdoor movie theater and smores. Our kids loved it each night. The library/game room is also such a cute unique area that is great for those who have kids. However now to the bad. That includes the cute library. While a cute idea, it's extremely dirty filled with dead flies and bees all over the windows and even cushions. The windows on the outside have not been clean in a very long time. The dead flies, bees are everywhere. There on the floor, the light fixtures, jacuzzi and pool. The jacuzzi had so many dead bugs in the water and the water also had probably dirt from people's bodies. It was very unsanitary and disappointing to say the least. The property itself is not maintained. There are bugs, weeds, and poor condition of most of the outside of the property. It's too bad because it could be a great place to stay if they just did some extra work to clean up. Part of me would want to come back because of the breakfast and outdoor movie but they really need to take the time to clean.

The lady at the front was very friendly and offered us some chocolate while she processed our payment. Once checked in, process was smooth but what really upset us was the limited staffing they have on site generally. No one is there at check out (11am) and they don't arrive until between 1-4 which isn't good for a hospitality business. Overnight our neighbors were up until 5AM. Drinking and smoking cigarettes on their balcony so we weren't able to enjoy our outdoor space. There was no one to call and notify to tell them to keep it down. They were also jumping or dropping furniture idk it was loud thuds though, so I'm sure the people below them were annoyed too. In the morning we requested a different room and they were apologetic but did not find us a new place and thankfully our neighbors checked out. I really hope Bodega Coast Inn followed up with them because they were an inconsiderate group of adults acting like they were in college. Definitely ruined our night and made the next morning hard to enjoy because we were so tired. I also requested a complimentary night but they ghosted me and stopped responding. The room: 3/5 Beautiful renovated room with a mid century modern vibe. Only complaint is the shower. It was clean but the way the glass half-wall is situated splashes water EVERYWHERE. If they don't address this, they will need to do a lot of maintenance on floor repairs for water damage. We had to lay a towel on the floor each time we showered. The property was also undergoing renovations and there was no noise at night but the spa wasn't operating or in good condition. Generally I would recommend this place. But I hope they staff someone to be available overnight for noise complaints because it can easily become a party room without anyone from the company knowing and guests not having a good experience.

First impressions of the king suite were great: stylish, modern, and freshly updated. Unfortunately, it also came with a side of "Eau de Pine-Sol" so intense it could qualify as a third guest. We opened every window and door in a desperate attempt to air it out, but the scent stood its ground like a pine-scented fog of war. By bedtime, my sinuses were staging a protest, and the birthday getaway vibe had definitely taken a hit. The silver lining? By morning, we could breathe like humans again. Now, about those windows: charming in theory, but none of them had screens. The bedroom window opened right onto a sidewalk, which meant a parade of passing strangers just a few feet away. With no A/C and a security risk that felt more "live stage performance" than "private suite," we ended up sweating it out with the windows closed. The bed also had... character. The headboard was completely detached from the wall, and according to my husband, his side of the bed offered a gentle downhill slope--ideal for sledding, not so much for sleeping. All that said, I actually really like this place. It has great bones and a lot of potential they're actively working on. I'd absolutely come back, but next time I'll book a second or third-floor room, and I'll be calling ahead to make sure it doesn't smell like a pine forest exploded indoors.

We stayed in the Seal's unit, which is the largest of the 3. For the price it's tough to beat the location. The cabin sits on piers directly over the bay when the tide is up. You do get a bit of road noise due to the location directly off highway 1, but late at night, the road is not well traveled. The unit is cleaned by tenant's so it's not professionally cleaned. Still, it was not too bad. The unit could benefit from a new bed and perhaps some updated dishware. It would really pop with some new furnishings, but then the price would likely increase. Sitting out in the hot tub on a star filled night makes these issues are little more excusable. We had some outstanding food at Terrapin Creek Cafe and Spud Point Crab Co. If I have time, I may post reviews of these, but they hardly need the pub.

The only negatives for us were the shower was somewhat clogged and we weren't able to enjoy the hot tub because it needed cleaning and was slimy. We booked on extremely short notice, so we can't fault the owner for not having time to check on the unit before our arrival. He was easy to work with and responded very quickly to phone calls. We had hoped to use the available kayak, but ran short on time. If you are not looking for a 5 star, fancy hotel, this is your place. The relaxation factor of having your own space, combined with the reasonable price made this an ideal escape.

The interior is modernized design, it is an open concept that has a queen size bed also a pull out sofa bed in the living area, TV Blu-ray player, a small kitchen, private deck overlooking the bay, bathroom showers, and a shared yard with propane barbecue. is a quaint little spot for two people, and I love that they are dog friendly here they have stuff for dogs to use just in case you forgot your stuff. They have utensils, cups plates, spices, and some teas in their cupboards. In 2017 we use the same company to rent a house property on Gull Dr. That home was a very spacious home. We had our kids with us so it was nice to share it with other people plenty of space, open concept and they also had. It was a four bedroom house and it also had a washer and there were two spaces for parking and they also had a gaming area in the garage. For our 10 year wedding anniversary hubby decided to come back to the place we met and fell in love. But this time around he rented Albatramonto property that's up stairs from the original Tramonto property that we stayed at 11 years ago. This one it was almost identical to the original location we stayed at, but this one had a breakfast nook and two split patios. One patio facing the ocean and the other patio facing the tides wharf. The company was really wonderful. They made us a little heart towel and gave us a bottle of sparkling rose for our anniversary. Just be wary of ants, especially during the winter season just don't keep food out in the open or unsealed. If your ant problem gets really bad, then call the company up and they'll come out and spray. The only complaint we really had was the heater they had didn't warm the place enough and it was really cold. luckily, they had layers of blankets on the bed to keep us warm. The sunset are still amazing to watch from the patio. Parking is a little tight for this property. Brianna was the person we had dealt with, and she had simply been nothing but helpful with the bookings. The nice part about this company is everything is done online via email and to check into your property. You never have to go to the office. You can just show up at the actual vacation home and the key is in the lock box. every time you call them, there's always someone there to pick up the phone and answer any questions that you have. we will definitely be back here again in the near future you can never go wrong with any of the properties. The view is just superb for sunsets.

RENTERS BEWARE. i've recommended them for years but no longer. the vast majority over the last 2yrs are unhappy customers. so many homes are old and not kept up. bodega bay isn't the destination it used to be. i've rented 20+ homes for 40yrs through them and this last interaction will be my last. i spoke to bailey asking for reviews on a particular home i was interested in. she only pointed me to air bnb reviews so i asked about reviews they actually send after check out. she repeatedly told me they don't send out surveys but would leave my info for chris to call me back. surprise, no contact from him so i called again. spoke to bianca asking for chris and was put on hold expecting him to come on the line. nope it's bailey giving me the same spew that they don't send out questionnaires and spoke over me constantly repeating whatever info chris has trained her to speak. it is incorrect they don't send a survery as i submitted a very detailed response about my last stay. apparently no customer reviews are posted anywhere on their website and they claim they don't ask about your stay = total lie and they hide feedback. i've had issues with a property not being as described, another when cleaning was not done by check in time and waited almost 2 hours to be completed, another one checked in to discover no hot water so spent 1 1/2 days dealing with replacing the water heater and another when hot tub cleaners entered the home at 8am with zero notice. the most unsettling thing was they had keys to enter. any time you complain about something they refer to the home owner, nothing in the contract holds them responsible for anything and there's no info about who owns the home if you want to sue to recoup any money for mis representation. my responses: christopher bowland, interesting you have time to respond to my review but not to take my call. i did have to raise my voice to ask bailey to stop constantly talking over me when i tried to ask questions. seems you're training her to be as rude as you are. your reviews and responses speak more loudly than your lies. since sept 2024 there are 10 reviews and 8 of those are a 1 (even more earlier). that's an 80% failure rate!!!! if not for your family owning the company you wouldn't have a job.even mcdonalds wouldn't hire you if you burnt the burgers and fries 80% of the time!!! i wonder why they're allowing you to destroy the company brand and reputation. thera buttaro appears to be a successful real estate agent in bodega bay, is married to your father and has a stake in the business. maybe she's too busy with her own career to pay attention or maybe she just doesn't know. a simple note to her might be in order. kristopher lepore also has a stake in the business and is a bb real estate agent. perhaps they don't realize how negative reviews of this company may deter people from using their real estate services. the apple doesn't fall far from the tree. ignoring bad business practices makes them complicit and accepting of your actions. when i'm visiting in a few weeks i intend to locate the property i inquired about on windy lane and will notify the owner you have declined a customer interested in renting their property. i doubt your immature behavior will have a positive impact on this newly acquired rental property as owners rely on you to build business, encourage repeat visitors and make them money. another failure on your part. you have also failed to keep the property location confidential until booking is confirmed and arrival instructions are provided which is why i can locate the property. the owners may also take interest in your lack of security regarding property information. as far as renting with you again, you're simply not sophisticated enough to prevent me from doing so under other profiles. however, your company is no longer deserving of my money or recommendations. you're not the only game in town and, in fact, you're not the best since you took over. BODEGA BAY ESCAPES HAS A 3.5 YELP RATING COMPARED TO YOUR CONSTANTLY DECLINING 2.9 AND THEY POST CUSTOMER REVIEWS. since you're so adamant you don't send out reviews/surveys it says you don't care about the guest experience and it leaves property owners blind to issues and complaints you can bury which is why you have no documentation of my other grievances. so ludicrous to ask or expect me to have saved previous feedback. just another deflection tactic. any reputable rental agency has a clause in the contract with property owners to provide guest feedback. perhaps your time in charge is over before you completely ruin the business.
