    Soaking tub
    Jasmine H.

THIS PLACE IS SCAMMING PEOPLE!! I booked a room here for my boyfriend's birthday SPECIFICALLY because they advertised in-room spas. I did not book through a third party, or even online, because I was adamant about getting a room with a hot tub. I called to book, spoke to a woman who reserved a room with a tub for me. She never mentioned that they did not have the in-room spas anymore. When we arrived, we were about 2 hours early for check in (check in time was 4pm, which is kinda ridiculous considering check out is 11am and the room was $300), but we wanted to check to see if by chance our room was available. When we walked into the lobby, the employee didn't even greet us. She stared at us and finally said "You're too early. Only one housekeeper showed up so the best I can do is 4:00). We didn't expect to check in early, but the first impression of the service was not a good one. When we came back at 4pm to check in, I verified that they had us down for a room with a tub. The woman confirmed, but then said it wasn't a spa and that they had removed all spas from the hotel. I didn't cause a scene, but internally I was LIVID! Not only did the sign outside of their hotel still say they had in-room spas, but there are still pictures of these heart-shaped hot tubs on their website!! The woman at the front desk said she would try to get a discount for me due to the inconvenience, and I was happy about that. When we checked out, the lobby was closed (wtf?) so we had to go back a couple hours later, and she confirmed I would get the discount. It's been a week since my stay and I never received such discount. My card was charged the full amount. I was warned about the renovations happening on the property, but it was BAD. There were boxes and pickup trucks all throughout the property. When we tried to drive to our room, a U-Haul moving truck was blocking the road and had to be moved by one of the contractors. It looked messy and unwelcoming outside. The room itself was not bad, which is the only reason why we stayed. It looked like it had been updated. There were fake wood floors, an electric fireplace, and there was at least a nice bath tub, but definitely not the same as a hot tub. I was initially going to give this place 3 stars, but the fact that I never received the discount really put an even worse taste in my mouth. The fact that the hot tubs are still on their website, and they don't warn people when they book is insane.

This place is okay. They get a lot of complaints and have horrible ratings on Expedia. Especially the person at the desk (Karen). But We have stayed here before, and it was okay. This time it was okay, The room was clean. Everything worked. But I didn't try to use the Spa. It's not newly painted and up to Embassy Suites standards - but it was okay. Rates are high...but it's Bodega Bay and it's Chowder Weekend! Our view was fine - except for a tree - but again, it's Bodega Bay. And for all the haters out there, it's IMPOSSIBLE for every room to have a great view. The person at the front desk was very nice and friendly. And Helpful! When she noticed we were there for two nights - Shen gave me a second log for the fire. Said her name was Susan so not Karen. (if there is a Karen). My BIGGEST Problem was that the cancellation policy was very vague. And I wanted to clarify it BEFORE my time expired and I would lose money. I called almost HOURLY for TWO Days! and NO One EVER Answered! So I would stay here again - It's OKAY and very convenient.

My husband and I come to Bodega Bay at least once a month love the beach. We got a hotel out here for our anniversary and let them know and this place surprised us with flowers a card and wine glasses to celebrate. We came after hours and they really took care of us. Can't wait to stay here again. Room was so nice plus had a tub and patio.

We stayed in the family suite. The suite consisted of a separate bedroom with a king bed, the main area with 2 queen beds, and 1 bathroom. The stay was in December 2023. I should have read reviews prior to booking as our experience was in line with other reviews that rated this business poorly. When we arrived I noticed the furniture and walls were very dusty and stains on the walls. If I could get a refund, we would have left. The bathtub/shower didn't drain properly. I was very uncomfortable as I was questioning if anything was cleaned in the room as first appearance wasn't very good. The room was outdated and on the older side.

Update: Just scrolled down and saw the MULTIPLE violations of the ADA like mine listed. Looking into filing a complaint with the Justice Dept. This is outrageous. Stayed here twice (2016 & 2018) with my service dog and liked it a lot. But this time, I didn't even get a chance because they immediately refused my service dog. They only "recognize" seeing-eye dogs and dogs that "pull a wheelchair."(???) This is blatantly illegal and when I told them so and sent them the ADA guidelines they came back with the appropriate question about the service my dog provides but also repeated that if he isn't a seeing-eye dog or "wheelchair pulling" dog (lol) they were going to charge me a $50 pet fee. Also illegal. When I pointed THAT out, they offered me the room with no mention of a fee at all. No thanks. There are other options.

We stayed here for one night and had a decent experience. I appreciate the location being just a short walk or drive to Fishterian and The Tides. We had a smooth check-in with the front desk attendant (not sure if this was the infamous Karen that many Yelpers write about). Our room was clean and had a nice view of the water, which we could enjoy from our balcony. It was a chilly day/night, so I was ecstatic about the fireplace in the room and that they provided us with a log. We did, however, burn through the first log and tried to call for another. We were connected to some third-party customer service agent who said she would contact the manager to see if she was awake to get us another log. She must have been sleeping since we never heard back. If you need anything at night (extra blankets, towels, fire logs, etc.), I wouldn't expect to get it. But I'll just know that for next time. Despite there being many cars in the parking lot, the property was extremely quiet at night, which I appreciated. There was, however, construction going on in the early morning that woke us up earlier than we intended. Overall, we enjoyed our time, and I wouldn't mind staying here again.

OK... I've looked over some of the very poor reviews on this thread... Those folks have the right to their opinion... AND SO DO I!!! My wife and I stayed here three days and two nights last week (middle of July 2021) and could not have been happier... Most of Northern Coastal California is emerging from some pretty severe closures and tight rules from COVID-19... Some places are having trouble staffing and returning to the gracious service most travelers expect... Not Bodega Coast Inn... We were greeted as if we were the only guests due our first day -- we weren't, but it felt good to be treated that way... Our room was clean, properly prepared and convenient... We had a view of Bodega Bay that the word "spectacular" fails to even come close... I am eighty years old... The quality of the mattress in a hotel is not a life and death matter -- it's a bit more serious than that... The beds in our room were beyond anything we could have imagined... Yeah, all manner of businesses -- particularly hospitality -- are struggling to return to the pre-pandemic levels of service and amenities... Bodega Coast Inn is way ahead of the curve... One of the Bodega Bay events that we regularly attended was the end of season crab feed at the community lodge in December or January... The moment it is announced, we will sign up... AND WE WILL BOOK A ROOM AT THE BODEGA COAST INN...

A Peaceful Getaway with Stunning Views…read more We stayed at The Inn at the Tides in Bodega Bay while celebrating a birthday trip from the San Jose region in mid-January, and we could not have asked for better weather. It was sunny every day with temperatures in the mid-60s, which made Bodega Bay feel like a perfect winter escape. The week before it had been raining like crazy and some areas had been flooded. We really lucked out! The hotel is located on a hill, not really next to the water, but because it is situated on the hill, it has great views. Our 2nd story room on the top of the hill was spacious, quiet, and extremely comfortable. The high vaulted ceiling with a skylight made it feel open and airy, and the layout included a couch and small table with chairs, which was perfect for relaxing with a glass of wine in the evening. We also appreciated having a coffee pot and small refrigerator in the room. The grounds are beautiful and very well maintained. We saw deer grazing near the bushes and trees, which added to the peaceful coastal feel. The views are excellent, especially from the second-floor units, overlooking Bodega Bay on one side and rolling grassy hills with cows on the other. The hotel is very quiet and restful. Housekeeping was excellent (thank you Grace), and the front desk staff, Evelyn and Tyler, were friendly, professional, and helpful throughout our stay. The wellness center is really nice with a large T-shaped pool, Jacuzzi, sauna, workout room, and shaded tables for sitting, eating, or enjoying a drink. Parking is plentiful with some covered spots, plus the hotel is right next to a 76 gas station, which is very convenient for that long drive home. The hotel restaurant is directly across the street on the water and has great views of the bay. Seals, birds and an occasional fishing boat can be seen. There is another restaurant closer to the hotel rooms but it was closed during our stay. A couple of minor wishes: the workout room could use a large mirror, a few more weights, and maybe even a Concept2 rowing machine (hint, hint). And the TV in our room could also be a bit larger (I know, were not their to watch TV, but we love HGTV!). Lastly, if you do not want to deal with stairs, request a ground-floor room. There are no elevators. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and highly recommend The Inn at the Tides. It was the perfect home base for our first visit to Bodega Bay. Looking forward to staying there again ... hopefully soon!

Pros: this was a very charming estate and the staff was beyond kind to both of us and our pup. He was welcome everywhere except the dining room, the pool and spa. The room was very cute and clean. The only downside for me and my allergies is that there is wood fireplace in each room. The bathroom had plenty of hot water. The breakfast was from 8-10 am in the dining room and had a decent meat-less spread. Toast, bagels, oatmeal and toppings, plain yogurt, cottage cheese, scrambled eggs, hard boiled eggs, fruit salad, coffee, tea assortment and juices. The grounds are super cute and weather permitting there is a movie playing on a projector with complimentary s'mores to cook on the outdoor wood fire. Since we had our dog, we didn't use the pool or spa. "Aunt Kay" we interacted with the most and was so kind to both of us and Dio. She made our stay! Not only was she informative but also checked in on us when we we'd pass through the lobby. Dio was a big fan of her. Cons: if you have allergies or are sensitive to wood smoke, this is not your destination. Again, there are wood burning fireplaces in each room and a large fire pit by the movie. The room we stayed at is across from the pool and it can get noisy. You can also hear everyone that walks in front of your room. Along with that there is a lot of wildlife, so you may need ear plugs. If you need to sleep in the dark, the front blinds are going to still let in light, so bring a sleep mask. Update: we got a text that I forgot my socks in the room. They offered to mail them to us, we declined. I don't remember the last time house keeping and the front office too the time to be that considerate.

Further, before I actually spoke to this person just now, I sent them not one, but two emails in the last four days via their own website, and have not received a response. My friend and I did a staycation at this facility a few years ago and enjoyed our stay. However, it does not appear that customer service exists at this place anymore. You do get a bit of road noise due to the location directly off highway 1, but late at night, the road is not well traveled. The unit is cleaned by tenant's so it's not professionally cleaned. Still, it was not too bad. The unit could benefit from a new bed and perhaps some updated dishware. It would really pop with some new furnishings, but then the price would likely increase. The only negatives for us were the shower was somewhat clogged and we weren't able to enjoy the hot tub because it needed cleaning and was slimy. We booked on extremely short notice, so we can't fault the owner for not having time to check on the unit before our arrival. He was easy to work with and responded very quickly to phone calls. Just be wary of ants, especially during the winter season just don't keep food out in the open or unsealed. If your ant problem gets really bad, then call the company up and they'll come out and spray.
