I love Dillon Beach, somewhat my go to spot the last few years... But enough of the beach, lets talk about the resort and there little houses.. We stayed on the end, so our veiw was amazing, wake up and enjoy a big window of the beach... It was also a little more roomy then some of the other small houses, since this was a 2 wide, or double... we had 4 people and felt just right. Anysmaller and I think we would have driven each other crazy, since we were there for several days... It was really a blast staying at Dillon Beach Resort. we even ate at the little dinner they have in junction of the store, totally worth trying if you have not...

Been camping at Lawson's since the early 90's but a spontaneous overnight trip meant we needed to find another option. We were lucky to snag a cottage here. Staff super friendly. Bright and open floor plan with beachy decor. Opened the door to a clean, open and bright rental. Nice welcoming touches noted included soft background music, a personalized welcome note and flowers. Our add-ons were also awaiting us in our room. The views are amazing. They have thought of everything. Chairs, blankets, picnic tables, fireplace, kitchenette. The General Store is a bit pricey but has a great selection and so convenient. Can't wait to come back and stay a little longer.

Had a great time here! Tiny homes and so cute and love being a quick walk from the ocean. My hubby and I came for my birthday and enjoyed our relaxing stay. A couple of things we noticed: - if you turn on the heater, the fridge stops working - window by our bed did not close - we ended up putting pillow over it - the internet was VERY spotty - there's no reception in the area

So relaxing and rejuvenating! We'll definitely be coming back over the years! THE GOOD ° Nearly every cottage has a great view. ° Cottages were clean and provided a lot of cooking pots/boards/pans. ° Comfortable beds. - but the couch pullout not so comfy. ° Each cottage has a hose to clean off all the sand. ° There's a big general store with fresh coffee and ice cream. Items were priced decently. ° Their restaurant, The Coastal Kitchen, had really good clam chowder and fish n chips (pictures on my review of CK). THE BAD ° The fireplace almost seemed like it was more for looks than actual heat. - but you can turn on the thermostat and it will heat the cottage THE UGLY ° The sliding interior doors were god awful! - It didn't have a bottom guide rail and the "lock" was moreso to stop it from sliding. - Which btw, the doors would slide open by themselves (not leveled correctly?) if they could fix the door issue, I'd likely give 5 stars.

2 panel fence - children can fall under easily

Nice location with nice view, but for the price I expect more luxury. Convenient that there is a store and restaurant on site but I have some cons. Convenience store is extremely overpriced tiny bubbles that could be from the Dollar Store are $8 there. Restaurant is open Friday-Sunday so wasn't even able to make it to dine there. There isn't someone at the office 24/7 so if you need something in the house they aren't working it sucks. Our batteries died in our controller for the tv so we had to wait the next day until 10am to get some. The pots and pans are Nonstick pans full of scratches. They provide salt and pepper, but no oil. The dishware is metal & plastic so you can't use the microwave for that. I had to microwave in the glass cups then transfer to the plate. Outside of the Coho cottage is the walk way view which is kinda on a cliff.. there is a 2 panel fence but there should be 3 panels - if you have toddlers or small kids they can easily fall under if walking too close. You must watch your children closely here because of that. In the Coho cottage the steps to the upper floor are very steep, I'd only recommend adults sleep up there. Children could get hurt badly with a fall. There's no AC. Just to keep all these things in mind.

WOW, is this the first ever review?! Right to the point! Awesome! We rented the Coho tiny house option! Two adults and two teenagers, 16 & 15yo, guy and girl! Can't forget about my third, my bike. The space was great, the kids stayed upstairs and adults down. Bathroom is perfect, kitchen is a one person space, we were average sized & healthy adults for reference. The kitchen is well stocked, we wish we had cleaning supplies to make the sink and counter smell fresh. Coffee pour over was a new and a fun experience. The living room area is great too. The TV is a bit small, but the view to the left far makes up for it and who is there for TV anyways? Staff, Casie, was excellent, if we needed something and we did, she was on it with a smile. The General store is fun and stocked with all the fun items, priced a bit higher and that sure makes sense considering. We brought our own food and planned well, the teenagers enjoyed getting something new and fun at the store. Walk to the beach is easy and great for walks. Dogs all over the place and fun to watch them run wild. Are the tiny homes pricey, yup, they are. We took the trip as the experience as a whole; staying in a tiny home, the store, the beach, the weather and the view. Consider some of the smaller homes, which my wife and I will in the future! We will be back!

Fun, family- friendly place to stay at small beach town Dillon Beach. If you enjoy unique experiences such as tiny home living, this is ideal especially for kids. What kids don't like being by the beach? Mind you, there isn't a whole lot to do besides spend time at the beach so a weekend trip would suffice as there's not much else in the area. I booked a two night stay (a little over $1000) in a Coho Cottage, which is the second to largest of their tiny home models. It also faces the beach so you have a nice view. It sleeps 7 as there are 2 queens, a sofa bed and a twin. It was just my husband, son and I so my husband took the room with the queen. Of course my son wanted to sleep in the loft where there was another queen and a twin. It's fun for kids. However, you have to hunch down/crawl when you're in the loft or you'll bump your head on the ceiling (even my 4 year old had to hunch down). The bathroom was clean but the shower floor tiles smooth and can be slippery. The coastal cabin decor was super cute and newish. Beds were comfortable. They have an electric fireplace which was nice. Hulu and another streaming service (I forgot) was available on the TV. A full kitchen is available with everything you could possibly need. The pots, pans, tableware, glassware were high quality and in new condition. There was also a full size fridge, gas stove, microwave and toaster. Equator coffee was included in the kitchen and it was so nice to have drip coffee each morning looking out at the beach. I highly recommend bringing your own food to cook some of the meals, since there's only one restaurant at the resort called the Coastal Kitchen. They had a good menu but very limited. We ordered food at the CK once during our stay and brought it back to our tiny home to eat. The clam chowder and shrimp tacos were my fav. Just outside of our cabin, there were 2 patio chair and a picnic table. There were also water bowls for dogs if you brought one or two. A hose is also available which proved to be useful after the beach for housing down sandy Beach toys and sandals. There was also an area with grills for those who wanted to bbq. You are required to take out your own garbage to the designated trash and recycling bins. The Dillon Beach Resort General Store is where you check in. There, they'll give you a free soft serve ice cream for staying at the resort. It's a cute little shop with souvenirs/gifts, limited grocery items, beverages, snacks, apparel and toys. Everything there was expensive, so BYO food/drinks if you can. Since we came prepared, we didn't have to purchase any food items but my husband bought a DBR hoodie and my son got a hackey sack. The young ladies that worked there were pleasant and helpful. Overall, fun stay. The beach can be cold and foggy so check the weather before booking. The location is close to Petaluma so it can be like a staycation for people from the Bay. You don't have to drive too far but it's far enough to get away.

This place is absolutely adorable and well maintained. But it is not well suited for mature or refined travelers. It's seems best for families with kids. We took off a star because of the noise and lack of privacy. While there is a beautiful picture window with amazing views of the beach and ocean, the common area in front of our cabin was generally full of unsupervised children and off leash dogs. Also, the cabins are close together so we could hear our neighbors at night partying, kids crying, dogs barking, etc. Our dog struggled at times with all of the commotion/noise. We also took a star off because the restaurant and general store have a very limited menu/selection. Also, we could not imagine more than 2 adults staying in the coho cottage. The loft space has very limited head space. We used the loft and stairs to store our luggage. Because the cabins are so cute, and the staff was so nice, we will likely return during the off-season on weekdays to avoid kids and bring our own food.

Stayed in the Coho Cottage for an extended weekend and we loved the tiny home! It was an easy walk to the beach where we visited tide pools during low tide, and kids enjoyed the sand dunes. During evenings, we enjoyed movies with the smart TV while enjoying a gorgeous sunset.

This is literally the cutest, nicest, most serene mini home I've ever stayed in! We were lucky no one else was staying at the resort, that we knew of, and ended up having the entire patio to ourselves! The view from the room was amazing! I wish I could have stayed longer! Everything within the mini home was modern and updated--reminded me of a Magnolia Home/Johana and Chip Gains remodel. It was perfect for two people and we never felt cramped. There's a sofa bed and actual bedroom--we opted for the sofa bed since it has the million dollar view of the ocean. There's a General Store selling basic necessities, but I suggest planning ahead and bringing food to cook. There's a full kitchen/fridge/pots/pans (bring oil and spices!) so you're able to make whatever your heart desires. They also offer nightly meals from their coastal kitchen, although you'll need to pre-order a day in advance by 5pm, they should reach out to you via email to let you know what they plan on serving. We decided to cook during our stay but maybe next time we'll opt to order food. Their fried chicken dinner looked really good. Everyone on the property was extremely friendly! The young lady working at the General Store who helped me check in was extremely nice and there was another young woman walking the property, possibly the owner, who stopped to greet us and make sure we were doing ok as the power had gone out the night before for a few hours. She apologized for not reaching out to us that night and seemed very genuine and friendly. Dillon beach is literally a three minute walk from the beach and everyone there was extremely friendly! They also allow dogs and have restrooms available near the entrance. Beach parking was $10/day--although it may be free for people staying at the resort? (FYI-Hotel parking is free) Overall, I'd most definitely stay here again! You just can't beat waking up to the sounds of the ocean--or watching the sunset every night from your room. Everything was extremely clean and I was thoroughly impressed! I do suggest bringing extra flashlights/lanterns if you plan on walking around at night or just incase the power goes out. The General Store closes around 6pm (hours: 8am-6pm) in the wintertime so no there's no one on the property to reach out to. They provide you with one flashlight--but it's always better to be over prepared. So glad i stumbled upon this gem while browsing farmhouse home decor on Instagram--what are the chances!

Pros: this was a very charming estate and the staff was beyond kind to both of us and our pup. He was welcome everywhere except the dining room, the pool and spa. The room was very cute and clean. The only downside for me and my allergies is that there is wood fireplace in each room. The bathroom had plenty of hot water. The breakfast was from 8-10 am in the dining room and had a decent meat-less spread. Toast, bagels, oatmeal and toppings, plain yogurt, cottage cheese, scrambled eggs, hard boiled eggs, fruit salad, coffee, tea assortment and juices. The grounds are super cute and weather permitting there is a movie playing on a projector with complimentary s'mores to cook on the outdoor wood fire. Since we had our dog, we didn't use the pool or spa. "Aunt Kay" we interacted with the most and was so kind to both of us and Dio. She made our stay! Not only was she informative but also checked in on us when we we'd pass through the lobby. Dio was a big fan of her. Cons: if you have allergies or are sensitive to wood smoke, this is not your destination. Again, there are wood burning fireplaces in each room and a large fire pit by the movie. The room we stayed at is across from the pool and it can get noisy. You can also hear everyone that walks in front of your room. Along with that there is a lot of wildlife, so you may need ear plugs. If you need to sleep in the dark, the front blinds are going to still let in light, so bring a sleep mask. Update: we got a text that I forgot my socks in the room. They offered to mail them to us, we declined. I don't remember the last time house keeping and the front office too the time to be that considerate.

Lounging here or in one of the several communal areas is welcoming. The grounds are better kept than many years ago, but there are still some pockets that could use some care. But the reception Chex mix/ wine, movie night with s'mores, lawn games, make the larger property feel cozy. And while I didn't get to the jacuzzi or pool, I wish I had! What made me write this review though, is the gluten free and dairy free options for breakfast. They have homemade bread to toast which had me coming back for seconds. Usually, gluten free is so disappointing, but not here. Delicious! On top of all this was friendly and informative staff. Lovely stay. Hopefully, we'll be back in another 10 years.

A fire glows outside the lobby, where guests gather for complimentary s'mores from the front desk. Melissa greeted me that evening - jovial, warm, and effortlessly efficient. Check-in felt less like a transaction and more like an arrival. After settling in, we walked up to Mable's just up the hill. The air was crisp. Jackie seated us outside, wiping down the table and setting up the heater while asking what brought us there. The service felt attentive without being intrusive - thoughtful in a way that made you feel both seen and relaxed. The manager recommended the oysters (sourced just down the hillside), clam chowder, beef short ribs, carrots, and potatoes he described as "ridiculously good." He wasn't wrong. One bite and I understood the confidence behind the recommendation. Jackie crafted a mezcal cocktail - technically out of season due to its pomegranate base - so she improvised beautifully. It was smoky, warm and sweet; perfect for the evening. Every dish felt intentional and dessert was too - chocolate mousse, peanut butter, caramel, roasted marshmallow, quinoa bark, and peanuts that melted together in a single, perfectly balanced bite. Later, I returned to the now-quiet fire, made one last s'more, and sat in stillness. There was a palpable sense of history on the land - a peaceful awareness of all who had gathered there before. The room was simple and deeply comfortable. I read before wrapping myself in crisp sheets and falling asleep on a cool pillow. In the morning, wrapped in a Marconi robe, I walked to the sauna and meditated - alternating between closed eyes and views of trees and the Pacific beyond. After a hot shower, I packed up and chose a nearby trail. The hike unfolded like a story: a solitary yellow chair overlooking rolling hills and ocean; the distant sound of cattle; clusters of seats that felt as if laughter had only just faded; historic buildings standing quietly in time; a small pond alive with frogs; ravens calling overhead; forest trails opening into meadow views. Eventually, the paths brought me back near Mable's. For breakfast, Haven greeted me and I chose the same table from the night before. I ordered the French toast after seeing the light in the eyes of my waitress when she described it - along with black coffee and scrambled eggs. Robert, the manager, stopped by to ask about my stay and suggested one final trail before I left. He was right - it was the perfect closing note. The Lodge at Marconi offers more than a stay. It offers space - to breathe, to wander, to reconnect. Wherever you're traveling from, you may just find solace here.
