Practical for a wedding we attended. It also avoids having to drive into Santa Rosa after dancing all night. The hotel is a historic building and therefore won't have modern amenities. Those include no elevator, air conditioning, phones in room, no smart TVs. Our room was large (we stayed in room 5) with two queen beds. It also had a mini fridge and small flat screen with cable. The bathroom was immaculately clean. Shower looks like recently regrouted. I don't care for carpet in hotel rooms but it was clean and vacuumed. No stains. Also white sheets looked clean and in good shape. The front desk was friendly. They do offer a coffee station for guests on the second floor hallway. It's close to the cute restaurants and general store. Convenient parking in the back of hotel. All in all a clean and does the job hotel room.

Quiet location, good size room, petite bathroom, plenty of hot water, eventually. Bed comfortable. Easy parking.

The innkeeper, Bob, greeted us in person when we arrived around 11:30pm; He personally showed us to our room and calmly described how ordering breakfast worked, gave us wifi credentials, and then let us relax. If you're looking for upscale luxury, this is not the place for you. If you're looking for an exceptionally clean, cozy, and well run B&B than look no further. You're staying in a tranquil, untroubled place that persuades you to decompress and clear your mind. Notable Amenities: - WiFi - Feminine products in the bathroom - Novels and light music - Fireplace - Continental breakfast - Binoculars - Hiking backpack - Mini refrigerator What is provided to you promotes relaxation and exploring your surroundings. We spent our mornings in the room eating breakfast, listening to Claude Debussy and watching the mist clear over the bay. We then headed out to go kayaking all day, had oysters and champagne for dinner, then retreated back to the B&B to cozy up in front of the fire. *Note About Breakfast* Breakfast is brought to your room and includes the following: tea, orange juice, and an assortment of breads (blueberry, coffee, pumpkin, poppyseed, etc.) *Note About Your Surroundings* You are near a few restaurants, and a light breakfast is provided, otherwise not much is around. I would suggest bringing some fruits/veggies and other light snacks when you are out during the day.

It's not a lodge for the technocrat--There was no tv and cell phone communication was somewhat sporadic, but if you go here to enjoy your life, your senses... few places could be more marvelous. A fire glows outside the lobby, where guests gather for complimentary s'mores from the front desk. Melissa greeted me that evening - jovial, warm, and effortlessly efficient. Check-in felt less like a transaction and more like an arrival. After settling in, we walked up to Mable's just up the hill. The air was crisp. Jackie seated us outside, wiping down the table and setting up the heater while asking what brought us there. The service felt attentive without being intrusive - thoughtful in a way that made you feel both seen and relaxed. The manager recommended the oysters (sourced just down the hillside), clam chowder, beef short ribs, carrots, and potatoes he described as "ridiculously good." He wasn't wrong. One bite and I understood the confidence behind the recommendation. Jackie crafted a mezcal cocktail - technically out of season due to its pomegranate base - so she improvised beautifully. It was smoky, warm and sweet; perfect for the evening. Every dish felt intentional and dessert was too - chocolate mousse, peanut butter, caramel, roasted marshmallow, quinoa bark, and peanuts that melted together in a single, perfectly balanced bite. Later, I returned to the now-quiet fire, made one last s'more, and sat in stillness. There was a palpable sense of history on the land - a peaceful awareness of all who had gathered there before. The room was simple and deeply comfortable. I read before wrapping myself in crisp sheets and falling asleep on a cool pillow. In the morning, wrapped in a Marconi robe, I walked to the sauna and meditated - alternating between closed eyes and views of trees and the Pacific beyond. After a hot shower, I packed up and chose a nearby trail. The hike unfolded like a story: a solitary yellow chair overlooking rolling hills and ocean; the distant sound of cattle; clusters of seats that felt as if laughter had only just faded; historic buildings standing quietly in time; a small pond alive with frogs; ravens calling overhead; forest trails opening into meadow views. Eventually, the paths brought me back near Mable's. For breakfast, Haven greeted me and I chose the same table from the night before. I ordered the French toast after seeing the light in the eyes of my waitress when she described it - along with black coffee and scrambled eggs. Robert, the manager, stopped by to ask about my stay and suggested one final trail before I left. He was right - it was the perfect closing note. The Lodge at Marconi offers more than a stay. It offers space - to breathe, to wander, to reconnect. Wherever you're traveling from, you may just find solace here.

Pros: this was a very charming estate and the staff was beyond kind to both of us and our pup. He was welcome everywhere except the dining room, the pool and spa. The room was very cute and clean. The only downside for me and my allergies is that there is wood fireplace in each room. The bathroom had plenty of hot water. The breakfast was from 8-10 am in the dining room and had a decent meat-less spread. Toast, bagels, oatmeal and toppings, plain yogurt, cottage cheese, scrambled eggs, hard boiled eggs, fruit salad, coffee, tea assortment and juices. The grounds are super cute and weather permitting there is a movie playing on a projector with complimentary s'mores to cook on the outdoor wood fire. Since we had our dog, we didn't use the pool or spa. "Aunt Kay" we interacted with the most and was so kind to both of us and Dio. She made our stay! Not only was she informative but also checked in on us when we we'd pass through the lobby. Dio was a big fan of her. Cons: if you have allergies or are sensitive to wood smoke, this is not your destination. Again, there are wood burning fireplaces in each room and a large fire pit by the movie. The room we stayed at is across from the pool and it can get noisy. You can also hear everyone that walks in front of your room. Along with that there is a lot of wildlife, so you may need ear plugs. If you need to sleep in the dark, the front blinds are going to still let in light, so bring a sleep mask. Update: we got a text that I forgot my socks in the room. They offered to mail them to us, we declined. I don't remember the last time house keeping and the front office too the time to be that considerate.

I finally got a hold of the reservation person, not on site, (the last three days I tried to call this place twice they did not pick up, and just now, I was in the middle of the conversation, and was hung up on). Further, before I actually spoke to this person just now, I sent them not one, but two emails in the last four days via their own website, and have not received a response. My friend and I did a staycation at this facility a few years ago and enjoyed our stay. However, it does not appear that customer service exists at this place anymore. Since they've made it blatantly clear they don't need my business, I'll make sure any of my out of town friends and family looking to stay on our coast, know exactly where NOT to stay.
