This was our first time here, and I can simply say it is now one of our favorites. Check in was super easy. Our room included a nice patio that allowed our dog to roam in and out and gave us easy access to walks as there is a side gate off the patio that is close to a few short trails on the property. The staff were just wonderful and dedicated to making our stay enjoyable. They provided us with many activities that always included our pup, as well a wonderful eating establishments. I would highly recommend the Bodega Bay Inn as a perfect place to spend some vacation time. Don't forget to include you pup, they'll love it! read more

We stayed at the Bodega Bay Inn for our anniversary. The room was comfortable but cold. Fortunately there was a heater which we kept on most of the time. I was glad I brought slippers I recommend bringing a pair. The entire room and bath had tile flooring which did not warm up. It was bright with sky lights which we were able to open and close. The patio was great for Huckleberry. We could let him out and were not worried he would wander away. The shower was like a soft rain. I would have like stronger pressure. The staff were friendly and helpful. They loaned us a water dish. If we are back in the area we would stay there again. read more

The two hosts we spoke with during our stay were both wonderful! Check in and check out texted instructions were well done and on point. Since our stay was completely prepaid I suppose we wouldn't have even needed to speak to a host if we hadn't wanted to. Our Bay View room was in a separate building a bit down the road, which appears to contain two guest rooms and an employee quarters, all of which seem to share a "common" room containing a small kitchen and fridge, a large outdoor deck and a hot tub. Our Bay View room was upstairs. The room was very clean and the bed was great. We appreciated the view from the small balcony. Interesting layout, but we had a great stay. read more

The Bodega Bay Inn is nicely located right off Highway 1 in Bodega Bay. We stayed in the Bay View Room which had a common kitchen nook ( had coffee cups, refrigerator and microwave). This room also had a nice outdoor deck and access to the hot tub. It was more like staying at an ARBNB than an inn. From the deck, there is a view of a meadow, the bay and the Inn. However It is a little funky with the layout and decor but it was clean and the bed was comfortable. read more

I'm an introvert who doesn't feel comfortable talking with strangers so I appreciated the mobile check in. The room was amazing, it felt very homey like an Airbnb! I stayed in the Library room so I was on the ground floor with a patio attached to my room. They had installed a fountain to drown out noise from the adjacent road. Such a pleasant sound. The room had a fridge and a communal kitchen with Keurigs and free coffee and tea. I would downgrade the review a star for the lack breakfast pastries but there is a delightful coffee shop right next door. There is also a vending machine with sodas, oatmeal and other snacks. I wanted to give this place five stars because the staff really made me feel very comfortable. There were very few guests so I had time to talk with them. The gentleman I talked to before I left was friendly and genuine, a rarity these days. Love this place! read more

I can say that I was pleasantly surprised on the kindness and personability of the Girl at the front desk . We told her what kind of room we wanted and she delivered . Rooms are small and no fridge or microwave but there is one in the glass room (Coffee/lounge area) you can use . The room was very clean and more comfortable then most of the other hotels I stay in and I am in a hotel at least 10 days a month . Bodega Bay doesn't have much for food at later hours I would advise driving to Bodega and going to the casino . read more

Enjoyed our 2 night stay.We stayed in Creekside room #14.King bed with access to large private deck. We didn't hear any of our neighbors,slept soundly. FYI it gets super windy here so bring warm clothes!We planned on having beer on our deck but had to cut it short because I was freezing lol! The only cons is no sitting area inside room and not "safely"walkable to any restaurants other than Terrapin Creek Cafe (highly recommended!)and Roadside Coffee.That's pretty much any hotel in Bodega Bay though! We enjoyed Bodega Bay,very low key chill place with lots of amazing seafood and make sure to walk Bodega Headlands(it gets very cold) We tried to get in at Doran but they turned us away because parking lot full. I saw a few families with kids and the kiddos looked miserable.Not sure it's good for kiddos since it gets extremely windy but could be wrong. read more

Stayed here on my road trip to bodega bay. The rooms here are very small with barely any room to move and the carpet definitely needs changing, our room came with balcony which would be a great if it wouldn't be raining. They have something called glass room which I really liked and spent most of my time drinking hot chocolate and reading book. read more

Bodega bay inn is not it. They gave us a room with no towels and never received. Me and my fiancé had to dry with a bed sheet. I don't suggest people coming here this particular place and expects a pleasant visit. Oh and no fridge and microwave in the king room, and the room smells lots of bleach. read more

If you're reading this and figuring whether it's worth saving some money staying here vs staying elsewhere in Bodega Bay, rest easy knowing this is an awesome choice. We stayed in Room #16 and it was super comfortable. The king beds are soft, clean, and comfortable. The common kitchen has everything you need besides a stove, with free coffee and tea available 24/7. The "TV lodge" is an awesome place to sit in and relax. There a full, "secret" parking lot. The patios, decks, and other common spaces are spacious, pretty, and peaceful. Rooms come with Roku and cable and all you need to do is spend 30 seconds connecting them to the (free) internet. Proprietors Tim and Stephanie are SO UNBELIEVABLY KIND, WELCOMING, AND ACCOMMODATING. My wife and I came here on our honeymoon and we're immensely happy we did! Most of the poor reviews here are from immensely entitled or drastically unrealistic people. No it's not a 6-star hotel, and no this not Dubai. No, every human has cell phones so there are no room phones. No, there is no maid or masseur standing by your door to attend to your every need. No you shouldn't expect to be treated like Asgardian gods just because you spent $250 a night on a hotel. That's what the medium/low end cost is for hotels in Bodega Bay. That's what the medium/low end cost is almost ANYWHERE IN SONOMA OR MARIN. Get used to it. This is a great spot. Spent a birthday (my partner's) weekend at the Bodega Bay Inn. Lovely room (Lighthouse #7) with comfortable King bed and lots of space, patio and accessible shower. Coffee room upstairs with makings for a breakfast. Great restaurant across the parking lot, the Terrapin Café where we had a fabulous dinner. Staff in both places very helpful and accomodating. Nice hikes nearby, especially the Bird Trail, tho not too many birds that weekend. read more

It started off when I booked the Inn by accident and Coral was so friendly and helpful that it was meant to be to stay at the Inn instead of where I thought I was booking. Everything happens for a reason because we are having a great time on their property. We are celebrating our 38th wedding anniversary and they immediately brought us a bottle of champagne. We even got upgraded to their best room. The property is beautiful with every amenity you could ever ask for. We'll definitely be back. We highly recommend the Inn. They get an A+. We Checked in to room #14 for 2 nights 1st night was ok. Room is small with a very small shower. Soap dispenser was almost empty. 2nd night was awful my wife whom is allergic to cats and dogs kept sneezing all night and had a headache. On a whim we decided to go to the beach. So last minute I booked this spot, based on location. It was a short 5 minute drive to the beach and close to my favorite clam chowder spot. I thought it seemed cheap for the location and the reviews weren't great, so I was a bit worried. No need to worry! From check in to check out and everything in between this place was amazing and relaxing! Here is why we loved it: 1. Affordable. I think we had the best room in the place with a giant picturesque window, comfortable king bed, mini fridge, Netflix on a decent sized tv and a balcony! 2. Location. Can't beat the convenience of this spot! Close to shops, restaurants, a small grocery store and many beaches. 3. Clean. Although it's obvious this place is older with some wear and tear, it did feel clean. 4. The community kitchen. Very helpful to have a microwave, coffee, fridge and all the basic kitchen needs here! Saved some money not eating out! 5. Safe. Even though I took the trip alone with my two daughters we never felt unsafe. We even had a little hide in seek outside at night under the stars! We were skeptical to stay here. You really never know what to expect when booking online. We were pleasantly surprised how "boutique " feeling this little gem felt. Room was small but very clean and comfortable. Only complaint was check in. NO early check in. They'll charge you if you want to get in early. Had plans all afternoon into the evening and had to leave our party to get the keys since they don't have check in after 9pm. They want you to use a code for your key and the lady said sometimes it's difficult to do. They allow dogs in certain rooms that's why we chose this Inn. read more

If there was a Zombie apocalypse that forced us to stay here again, maybe we would think about it. There were many problems with this place, but the 3 glaring issues were lack of cleanliness, wifi and water. We chose BBI because it was pet friendly, however, during a pandemic you would think they would make an effort to sanitize the rooms. I know the surfaces hadn't been wiped down because there was dust on them, which was concerning. Also, wifi and cell coverage are critical during COVID because as a visitor, that's your connection to food - finding restaurants, researching the menu, contacting them to place an order, etc. If you don't have either (which we didn't), you could starve. Finally, the water pressure was so low, you couldn't take a shower or bath. That's right - you read that correctly - COULD NOT TAKE A SHOWER OR BATH! BBI knows it has a water pressure problem - I know this because the person I spoke with knew exactly what trouble-shooting trick to try the minute we called. At that point, we did not feel we should be charged for a second night in our dirty room, with no wifi and no way to take a shower. But, the only way they would refund us for the second night was for us to leave immediately. Keep in mind, it was already dark out and raining. Any reputable business wouldn't have wanted their customers to vacate in the middle of the night during a rainstorm just a prove a point. Let's face it - they weren't going to rent the room to anyone else, and we were leaving in the morning. To make a long story short (too late), this place is considered pet friendly, but they need to work on being people friendly first. I will NOT repeat. BB read more

We absolutely love this place. The staff is incredible, it's so close to the water, it's very homey & welcoming. We love the vibe of an "Inn meets beach hostel" environment. We got the jacuzzi tub room with the lanai and barely wanted to leave. We don't go anywhere without our dog so the fact that they welcome him means the world to us. They also have a different property they call "The Ranch" which we have stayed at, it's 2 studios on a property w a big yard & hot tub, you can see the water from. High praise for this place. Such a cute and tucked away but very convenient and easily accessible local Inn in Bodega Bay. The entire staff was super friendly and welcoming and the rooms and common areas were spotlessly clean. There is a very nice atrium / kitchen area with clean and in working condition microwaves/ Refrigerator for food storage and preparation also Keurig coffee makers. I loved the illuminated outdoor areas for nighttime stargazing / relaxing. My room was cozy and the bed was so comfortable and bathroom was small in my room but nice and with modern fixtures. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because of the 11 am check out. I travel frequently and most hotels at least have 12 / noon checkouts- but I had a wonderful stay and would definitely stay again and highly recommended if in lovely, peaceful Bodega Bay. read more

Just what I needed This place is on a corner but still kind of tucked away and easy to miss. Glad I didn't though, it was just what I needed. I stopped here late on a Saturday afternoon when many places were either totally booked or way more than a wanted to spend to bed down for a bit on a solo motorcycle trip. Bearded dude (wish I got his name) who checked me in was super helpful. The space was very nice. The price was more than reasonable for a busy Bodega Bay weekend. Pros: Front desk employee was very nice. She explained the grounds and showed me to my room. The grounds are cute with lots of seating, greenery and flowers. With that being said, I will review upstairs room 16. The room smelled musty and moldy even though both windows were open and the fan was on high. I'm sure that replacing the carpet and curtains will help solve some of the smell problem.....and it will update the room too. The room has old furnishings and needs a fresh coat of white paint everywhere, including the headboard. Two nights rent should be able to update this room and get back to 5 stars. But other things aren't so easy to fix. The walls are paper thin. We could hear tv's, doors opening and closing, showers running, coughing, sneezing, people talking (and they were just normal talking). Is this what you get for $282.00/night?? No thank you. Needless to say we slept terrible. We paid for 2 nights, and decided not stay the second night. We attended our wedding and then drove home 3 hours. read more

Absolutely lovely, stayed for one night in Lower Creek room 11. The cleanliness and quality of the room were awesome! Theres a cute kitchen off of the main Inn building thats always open, where you can make coffee and food in. As well as a communal fridge which seemed to be respected by everyone and plenty of seating space. I thought it was so cool that they had a whole room, completely separate from the building, with a big table and tv inside. They had sports playing but Im assuming that would be a great space for a large party to go. Even got a reserved parking spot for this specific room! 10/10 would recommend this place!! read more

We just stayed Friday and Saturday night, on a short notice whim trip. It's basic, but clean and pretty delightful. The flowers covering our building were gorgeous, and our room (15) had a nice private balcony that you actually wanted to use. No noticeable traffic noise from Hwy 1 either. We did have some, ahem, 'love noises' coming from adjacent rooms, but c'mon, good on 'em. We held back on cheering them on, and opted for a silent rating system instead. It does not form part of the 5-stars given to the Inn itself, to be clear. Comfy true king size bed, great TV. Room was super clean. The shower pressure wasn't blow-you-away, but certainly good enough for an excellent shower. The communal kitchen was really useful for us - a fridge freezer to refresh our ice packs and keep some stuff cold overnight. We had expected a fridge in our room, but didn't really miss it. Parking wasn't a problem, seems pretty well sized for their capacity, It's feasible to walk down to the marina and restaurants like Ginoccio's, and i think you can also cut across to the Bird restaurant that way too. There's no real sidewalk on Hwy 1 though, you'll need to drive to go that way. read more

We stayed just one Sunday night, and we're very happy with the room. It was large and clean & although it's an older hotel, it has a brand new large screen TV, and was right across the parking lot from our favorite restaurant. The manager Stephanie was very friendly and accommodating, allowing us to check in early, although there was a fee for that. They also have a common area that is open 24 hrs where there is two Keurig coffee makers with free pods. We will definitely stay there the next time we go to Bodega Bay unless we bring our trailer for camping. This was the first time we stayed in a hotel in the area because we usually camp at Doran Beach or Wrights Beach campgrounds. I stayed here for one night in October 2020. I was originally supposed to stay one night as part of a wedding, which got cancelled due to covid. I wasn't able to get my cancellation refunded, but I was able to rebook for a later date for just one night (I think they currently require a 2 night minimum stay). Although it took a long time for me to connect with anyone, I did find that Stephanie, one of the employees, was extremely helpful and provided great service. I had a Balcony King which was upstairs in a room separate from the main building. I didn't hear neighbors very much, but I think everyone was being very quiet and respectful, otherwise the walls seem kind of thin. The deck to this room was HUGE - though we just stood and didn't spend lay out on the chairs or anything. I will say the deck is covered with a plastic roofing, and at night there was some wind and it would crash up and down. I seriously thought we were in some crazy windstorm but when I stepped outside, it was actually fairly calm, so it's just the physics of plastic on wood rafters I guess. Checkout is 4pm, checkout is 11am Rooms came with a TV that had next to zero reception. I didn't bother trying to connect to the WiFi so I don't know how the speed is. It was actually kind of nice to have a night away from electronics, so I didn't mind this at all. There's a picnic table under a tree in the parking area with some string lights, and at least one other picnic table, under a wooden enclosing. We got pizza from nearby Huria's and ate under the tree, which is one of my favorite memories. It shares a parking lot with the Roadhouse coffee shop which was great for morning coffee. Location is pretty central in Bodega Bay - we were very close to the main part of Bodega Bay (which is small, but for our one night stay I'd highly recommend grabbing a meal at Huria's and getting any staples at the store in the same lot) and was very close to hiking in Bodega Head which I loved. The hotel itself is on the older side. I find the rates to be kind of high for the hotel conditions but I guess you can say we're in the Bay Area and it's a weekend getaway with limited housing selections. During covid, we didn't run into any employees or other guests - it was very quiet and I appreciated the easy checkin and checkout process. read more

We made a reservation without seeing the property, a big mistake!! We were told our room #11 was in the back, he gave us very poor directions. We drove around looking for the room, even stopped in the restaurant to find out where the room was, nobody seemed to know. After going back to the office twice to try to understand what he was giving us as directions, still nothing was clear. If he would have said go through the parking lot past the garbage dumpsters and then down the dirt road we would have found it, although there was NO lighting. You had to go into the room to turn the porch light on so you could see. The entrance to the room was up a dirt hill, of which I slid on because of the loose dirt. Room did not have a coffee pot, microwave or a refrigerator just a bed with minimal towels and a shower that looked like it was going to fall apart at any moment. When we spoke to the owner he said he would give us another room, which was exactly the same next to our room, no light at the entry. At this point we did not want to move because it was late. Next day when we expressed our concerns, again, with our room we received nothing but an arrogant response. The problem was the room and the management.
